  1. I do agree with this, personally. But many of the issues raised, definitively not all, but many, are very real issues that shouldn't have made it out of development in the first place. . While I do not, by any means, speak for anyone else, I have to say that I have played plenty of games that "tickle all my funny bones". As a Star Wars example, KoTOR I and II, as well as Battlefront come to mind. On the contrary, I think the OP made some very good points about bugs in Operations and some big issues in PvP. Plenty of other posters have done the same, before being buried by trolls, people defending the game with their own opinions, and topic de-railers. I think it belittles what I read as a well-thought out post, despite being mostly opinions, to refer to it as "panties in a wad". And, if you look through some of the comments, you'll see many people unequivocally agreeing with the OP. And I would agree with you in turn. . Maybe, but you can't say for sure. When I played WoW, I saw many of the same individuals posting the same crap over and over. That is not the case here. And since I can't always play the game, for various reasons, but I can almost always access the forums, so I spend an inordinate amount of time here. That's true, but the loud, obnoxious complainers do get attention to issues. Someone silently suffering through Ilium, Warzone exploits, random disconnects, and other things is not doing their part to improve this game. I know plenty of people personally, as well as online, that have tried hard to love this game. I'm among them. But many people can't justify a monthly fee for a product that isn't personally enjoyable. And although I can't find the link, I saw a TORhead link the other day that showed the net change in Server populations. And they were decreasing, except for a few PvE servers. That caused me to take a step back and really think about this game. Combined with taking the weekend off from playing SWTOR, I just can't bring myself to play anymore. It's just not fun and quite a pain in the *** to play. A week ago I would have been fully on your side, but, as I stated above, my mind has changed. I can't justify the fee versus the amount of fun I have playing.
  2. It's cool lol. I was just remembering off the top of my head.
  3. It is all about me. That is precisely how a gamer should look at it. I don't play and pay for someone else, do I? My point is that a person will unsubscribe over a personal problem, just as they would a technical problem. We can have constructive debates all we want, and God knows I've tried for the past two months, but it changes nothing. The bottom line is that people are unhappy. And people won't pay for a service when they're unhappy. As for the individual that stated that the complainers on the forums are only "a small percentage of the population"...I was using the same argument, up until I really thought about it. There is no data proving that statement. And if you keep track of the complainers, or just the poor individuals in the Customer Service section, you'll rarely see the same names pop up all the time. I agree that the people who absolutely must have it "their way" are obnoxious and poor human beings. But they're also part of the base that is paying for this game to continue. A final point: Everyone is ignoring the fact that complaints aren't just confined to this forum. The complaints can be seen on other gaming forums, on Facebook, even in-game.
  4. The facts are pointless. What is important is a vast well of negativity here on the forums, other gaming forums, and even in game. In a population of millions, it is probably safe to assume that one person posting on the forums, with valid complaints and personal opinions, speaks for, at least, a hundred people, who likely share the same views. Personal feelings and opinions have everything to do with it. That's what decides if people continue to subscribe.
  5. That's in "massive world versus world battles". Not a 16 person Warzone or a Fleet with 30 people. As for the fantasy nay-sayers...well...at least they function reliably. Like it or not, when something new comes out, all of the hardcore players, those who complain here on the forum and those who don't, will leave.
  6. I was defending this game on the forums, up until this weekend... I spent the weekend playing Skyrim, Halo:Reach, and MW3. I've also been closely following a certain beta... Coming back to SWTOR was...painful. It was only after taking a break from the game that I realized I was really only here for the Star Wars. It's a damn shame, because I've been looking forward to this for so long. OP is right on
  7. Ol' Stoneface himself? My legacy name is Nightgaunt. Gotta love some H.P.
  8. InB4 mods close this thread. I'm super excited for GW2 as well, for quite a while, in fact. A couple of my good friends are hardcore GW 1 players. My only issue with GW 2 is that I'll probably have to get a new rig to run it properly
  9. After a unknown interim period, Lord Kaan forms the Brotherhood of Darkness, a Sith Order. They have Korriban and eschew the title of 'Darth". They were at war with the Republic... Then a man named Darth Bane comes along...
  10. My suggestion, as someone who plays a Marauder and Gunslinger, as well as an Operative, is to either... 1) Use the opportunity to heal yourself and get ready to pop some cooldowns when they return 2) If you have teammates, like in a Warzone, run to them or call for backup 3) My personal policy, G T F O, fast. I don't care if I beat him or not. If I have to, I'll wait till he opens on someone in the area and wipe the floor with him. The CD on Vanish is 3 minutes, or 2 specced, so if he's stupid enough to open again within that time frame, his *** is mine. The best advice I have is to not take Scoundrel/Operative 1v1. That's what they are built for, and they will almost invariably win. If you take one of these on, make sure you do so at a time and place of your choosing, like if they're out of stealth and healing or they just opened on someone else. They also have the fault of being predictable. If he re-stealthed, the fool is probably coming back. Watch out for their Sap, as well. Some Ops/Scoundrels love to Sap one of your teammates before engaging, which is incredibly stupid, as it gives away your presence. Ledges are also the bane of that class. Knock his *** off.
  11. What are you doing while he sneaks off to heal? Just standing there, waiting politely for him to return? There is no ability which will restore your health that fast.
  12. Wow, someone called everything after RotJ crap? Heir to the Empire is crap compared to, what, the Revan novel? Bull. Rogue and Wraith Squadron are worse than Deceived? Hell nah.
  13. Also agreed. I'll never forgive this book for the Chickification of the Exile. (That doesn't have anything to do with her sex, but how she was handled as character.) I would expect better from a disciple of Kreia.
  14. If you're pissed that you're losing or getting farmed...get better?
