  1. Here's the dumb question: Why the hell did I even get involved in this discussion? I'm going back to playing the game. What other people do with their characters is really none of my business, anyway. Good luck and have fun, everyone!
  2. Well, that's certainly simple enough for me. I'm just glad that romance (same or opposite gender) is totally voluntary and has no effect one way or the other on storyline advancement. Besides, there seems to be sort of a built in "toggle" anyway. I think if you ignore "flirt" options with any particular NPC/Companion enough times, that option simply stops showing up. I could be wrong about that, but it seems that way to me.
  3. Toggle talk is considered "hate speech?" How is it "hate speech" to simply avoid conversations or subjects you don't want to talk about? As for the "same gender romance" stuff, I'm not sure if I remember ever seeing that option in any of the dialogues between any of my characters and their companions. If such an option ever did come up for me, I would simply ignore it since that sort of thing doesn't interest me in any way (to put it diplomatically). I play this game to enjoy an escape from reality. I just want to be the good guy fighting bad guys (or someone fighting to survive if playing Empire). So if I see any real world social/political issues pop up in any dialogue options, I simply ignore them and go on with my gaming experience.
  4. OOh... I gotta jump into this one. My Jedi Knight Guardian's ship is called Double Indemnity. I have several other characters, but only two of them are high enough level to have ships, and I haven't decided on names for those yet.
  5. In the most recent "Old Republic" novel (the one currently in hardcover), one of the main characters is the son of Satele Shan, the Jedi Grand Master. I'm curious to know how that came about without Satele being ejected from the Jedi Order. I doubt it's a secret son, since Satele seems to be a rather straight-arrow type, devoted to the Jedi Order.
  6. I think the best way to deal with any controversy arising from this issue is to simply have the option to disable all flirt/romance options for character interaction for each individual character. If the flirt/romance option is disabled, then such options would simply not appear when your chatacter is interacting with companions or NPC's. That would please those who want a strictly "family friendly" or "PG-rated" gaming experiance, and would also please those who want a different type of gaming experience. The option to disable or enable flirt/romance options should be available to the character all the time, in case a player changes his mind during the game. The option could be automatically enabled as a default, and those who don't want it can simply go into the appropriate menu and disable it. As for me, I'm rather enjoying playing my Jedi as strictly following the Jedi code, so I just simply ignore flirt;/romance options when they appear in character interactions with companions or NPC's.
  7. The problem is that these griefers who did this usually were around level 50, and doing it to people who were far lower, basically making it impossible for them to do quests in an area. Dying and teleporting to the nearest medbay didn't really mean anything when that high-level griefer just kept hanging around the quest area anyway, stealthed and waiting for someone to use an AOE ability so he could force-flag and gank them. So yeah, this is definitely a much-needed fix.
  8. Wow.... They need to fix that, too. Assuming they didn't already include that fix with the AOE-flag fix they just did.
  9. I'm really glad they fixed the AOE flag problem on PVE servers. But, what is the "direct attack version" of the forced flag exploit? I never heard of that one, and I would like to know what it is so I can either try to avoid it, or report someone if they do it to me.
  10. I remember in one of the comic books, Darth Maul, outfitted with a cybernetic lower body, turns up on Tatooine and terrorizes Owen and Beru Lars when Luke is around 3 years old. An obvious attempt to draw out Obi Wan Kenobi. Obi Wan duels Maul, and kills him for good this time. Then Owen sends Obi Wan away, clearly not wanting him around to influence Luke with his Jedi ways. So, if they are going on that premise, I could sort of see Maul appearing in the Clone Wars series. Although, in the story I read, Obi Wan was quite surprised to find out that Maul had actually survived that duel on Naboo. Perhsps Obi Wan won't find out about Maul in the episodes that he appears....
  11. Here's a thougt: Suppose they ofered the ability to determine your character's orientation at character creation, and also the ability to not choose any orientation at all. Then, if, for example, you chose straight for your character, then all "same gender romance" flirt options would be blocked from your character. If you didn't choose any orientation, then you would be given a choice of either "anything goes" or all romance options being blocked for that character. (edditid tu korekt speling errerz)
  12. My all-time favorite Star Wars novel is "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" by Alan Dean Foster. The novel was written back in the early 80's, and is a really great story.
  13. I saw an earlier post that seemed to imply that the smuggler gets some kind of penalties if he doesn't get romantically involved with any of his companions. I hope that isn't actually the case. I have a smuggler, and I'm playing him as simply being more interested in self advancement and profit rather than romance.
  14. I just hope they make it so that you don't HAVE to make your character romantically interested/involved with any companions or npc's if you don't want to. Making such things an option for roleplaying purposes is fine, but there should be no in-game penalty of any kind if you decide never to flirt with any npc's or companions.
  15. Here's an interesting idea: Suppose Ahsoka does turn to the dark side, and then lives on after the Jedi purge, and then later on (perhaps maybe in that new "underworld" series) turns back to the light side?
  16. I'm probably a deluded, wishful-thinking optimist, but I would like Ahsoka so somehow survive and not turn to the darkside. Like maybe leaving the Jedi order, or somehow avoid getting killed during the order 66 purge and go into hiding, or something. Wouldn't it be cool if Ahsoka came out of hiding and revealed herself after the battle of Endor, when Luke was building the new Jedi order?
  17. I'm glad they seem to be going for a certain amount of continuity with the game and the movies/tv series. If you watched the various Star Trek series, they do the same thing - All higher ranking officers are addressed as "sir," regardless of gender.
  18. If you watch that episode of "Robot Chicken Star Wars," you will find out what happened to Jar Jar. Here's the part I'm talking about:
  19. Actually, from what I saw in Episode III, even before The Clone Wars series, it seemed obvious that Mustafar had been a major mining/smelting operation for quite a long time. So I see nothing odd about Anakin having visited Mustafar at some time before his epic duel with Obi Wan.
  20. I always whisper before inviting. And I usually only do it when I know me and the other person are getting close to an end-phase elite mob. I suck having to compete for it, having to wait for a respawn, or making the other guy wait for a respawn. For me, it usually goes something like this: I whisper, "Are you going after that elite guy?" If no answer at all, then I guess I'm free to run forward and tag the mob. If he answers "No," then I'm also free to go ahead and tag the mob. If he answers "yes," then I say, "Me, too. Want to group?" The next stage in that is either him responding by sending me an invite which I accept, or him responding with a "yes," in which case I'm free to invite him.
  21. Oy, mooie mooie! Yousa bombad! Yousa maken' the bad talken' to Padme! How wude!
  22. Wirt the peg-legged boy would kill everyone and destroy everything in all those worlds and universes, and then open up a little lean-to shack where he would sell all the bits and pieces of that broken junk from all those worlds and universes he destroyed.
  23. No, I did NOT hear wrong. I did indeed hear my friend say that Ahsoka got killed in the Jedi Temple during order 66. Since you were not there, you can't tell me what I heard my friend say to me. Now perhaps you will understand that I wasn't making a claim that it was an official Lucas-sanctioned statement. I was simply stating an opinion a friend had told me, one that I thought might be an interesting possibility.
  24. Like I mentioned earlier, I heard that Ahsoka got killed in the Jedi Temple by Anakin/Darth Vader carrying out Palpatine's order to purge the Jedi Temple. That could happen, as there were several Clone Wars episodes where Ashoka was not present - so she very easily could have been at the Temple during Episode III, or she could have been on some other assignment and then returned to the Jedi Temple just in time to be there when Anakin/Darth Vader goes on his orgy of slaughter at the Temple. If Anakin/Darth Vader could mercilessly slaughter defenseless Jedi toddlers, he certainly could also kill a Padawan that he once was emotionally attatched to like he was with Ashoka.....
