SoonerJBD
I'm finding most of the space missions ridiculously hard, and I'm not sure why. I'm at lvl 41 and have a mixture of lvl 3-5 upgrades on my ship, but for some reason I can't seem to beat the missions that require lvl 3 upgrades. If the mission requires me to escort a ship, I find myself shooting down every enemy fighter in sight, and the shuttle still can't make it. If I'm supposed to be taking out things on a cap ship, it seems I never have enough time on the target to shoot the required turrets/shield generators/hangars. I think part of my problem is I can't tell what targets I'm supposed to be shooting at. Is there a difference between targets with the yellow/orange outline and those with the red outline? Is there something I'm missing? Anybody have any general tips?
tcalusine
i garauntee that you are friendly fireing on the escort ship. your blasters hurt it up REAL fast. Oh, and search your soul for a second before replying "dude, thats not it at all, im not stupid" because well.. im prob right. This happened to me too. Escort missions are hardest (though not really hard) because you have to watch you fire.

I'm not sure this is the correct answer.
Slooth
The targets with the yellow are objectives. Targets that are just red are just enemy targets. Yellow first then red. 1) You don't have to shoot until it explodes. Your lasers have a travel time. Aim and shoot for a few seconds and move to the next target. 2) Don't waste your missiles on enemy ships. Save them for main objectives or bonus ones like destroying the communications on the station mission ( big antenna on the bottom of space stations) or the bridges of enemy ships. 3) Double check your upgrades make sure you don't still have a level 1 upgrade in there somewhere. 4) spend some commendations on the Laser/shield upgrade. It will allow you to give more power to your lasers or shields depending on the need. Its like 120 or so commendations and worth it at your level. Nedax
Yep... friendly fire is probably the issue on escorts. Enemies with more than a red ring are objectives.

Escort missions are hardest (though not really hard) because you have to watch you fire. I'm not discounting any possibilities. The frustrating thing with the escort mission is it seems like the shuttle I'm escorting goes from half health to virtually nothing in the space of 15 seconds. Friendly fire could be the issue. I've been saving my missiles for objectives, just can't seem to find all the targets I need. There is one where you are supposed to take out these bombers. You literally can't miss one that comes up on your screen, but sometimes they are only on the screen for a couple of seconds. I've tried using missiles or blasters with little success. SkybladeDarkstar
If you are just shooting the fighters, you are missing the capital ship turrets, and THOSE will wipe out your escorted shuttle far faster than friendly fire.
Teldara
Tip: Don't fire unless you need to. You can't recharge shields while firing your main laser cannons. Space bar does a barrel roll. Use your missiles on turrets on escort missions. Those are the real killers. I'm not sure this is the correct answer. Shoot the escort on purpose, see what happens... I AM sure ALSO to OP: I had a mission on the republic side, second tier escort mission, its in dark space. he goes in between the two big ateriods in like a canyon feel and when you come out your with imp ships on both sides with like 1 minute from light speed and its health went from 90-100% to 50 then dead in like 5 seconds. Is this the same thing you experienced? it happened to me every time i tried it one night only. I beat it before and can beat it now after that night. I can complete the mission with mucho health to spare. Could not explain it but its gone for me now. Space battles are a breeze. Draflorin
I missile the fighters that come from behind me so I can concentrate on bonus material and i shoot the oncoming ones with my lasers since the missiles will take too long to get to target and allow time for the escort to take more damage Tonight I am going to try shoot down my escort to see if that's possible. From my own experience taking out the fighters that come from behind quickly with missiles usually is the key, those ones have a lot of on target time where the oncoming ones and capital ship turrets only really get one or 2 shots off and usually miss

When you come out of that spot with the asteroids on both sides, the shuttle goes from perfectly fine to dust for no apparent reason.
snooggums
My primary use for missiles is the cruiser turrets when they are on the edge of the screen on escort missions. There are about 6 per cruiser, and they are a pain to hit on the edge of the screen, and if you don't take em out they grind away the shields on escort missions. On most missions I save them for anything on the edge of the screen. Lasers are much faster, automatically account for enemy movement if red, and with the power transfer thingy set to lasers it only takes 2 to 4 blasts to kill fighters depending on the mission. I never worry about my own shields, the hull can take an incredible amount of damage.

bigray
Goto the starship upgrades vendor at the fleet station and use your commendations to buyt he blue item for your ship that allows you to boost power to your weapons or shields.

When you come out of that spot with the asteroids on both sides, the shuttle goes from perfectly fine to dust for no apparent reason. Well then you/we might actually have a problem. Like I said I have beat it before and after that incident but for one night maybe 3 retries, the same thing happened at that same spot. Couldn't explain it. Logged off, next day tried again. no issues, go figure.
Descento
i just nuke the shield generators on the capital ships, and then the whole ship is dead pretty fast no need to concentrate on every turret

Logged off, next day tried again. no issues, go figure. To be fair, this isn't the only space mission I've found to be difficult. But this happened to me three times in a row on this mission. The shuttle's health bar was well over 50 percent going into this asteroid canyon or whatever, then we come out with cap ships on both sides and a string of fighters and the shuttle is down to virtually no health in the space of 10 or 15 seconds. Perhaps I will try it again later. I'm not having a problem taking out fighters quickly. Just can't seem to complete the mission objectives. Solynn
On those missions, when the shuttle first comes into sight, you've gotta use your missiles to nuke the capital ship turrets it is flying by AND also an incoming fighters. They beginning of those escorts missions is where most of my missile power goes, blow up the turrets early with missiles, shoot your lasers at fighters and you'll make it through.
