  1. So, how many of the Event achievements are already impossible to get by this point before the event ends if you missed them earlier?
  2. Was. The new part of the lore is that we're united to fight against a threat to us all. But, oh, wait, I'm expecting a PVPer to pay attention to the story. lol Anyone who says that "all companions are identical now" is an idiot who doesn't understand the importance that story and characterization have in the game.
  3. Yeah, this. I'm just wondering if they're ALL coming back, or only some of them. Not going to lie, a lot of the ones that have returned thus far are not my favorites.
  4. I didn't think this would include some of the longest, hardest, and most annoying quests in the game. I'd worked on those quests for over six months.
  5. Has there been any official confirmation yet about the old companions returning at later points in the story? We've only gotten back a handful of the companions from the original game back, and I would like to know whether our others will be returning as the story progresses.
  6. So, after the installation of KotFE, I have found that my quest progress on the Aratech Coral and Aratech Nightscythe quests have been reset. Now, I'm fine with you resetting some quest progress. But resetting some of the longest, hardest, and most annoying quests in the game is utter BS. I had worked on these quests for MONTHS. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get a group that WANTS to do Nightmare Pilgrim? Let alone has the item required, and knows how to fight him? Let alone doing Hard Mode of old Ops that no one cares about? Give me back my quest progress, please.
  7. Well, that's great. I just found out that somewhere along the line of installing KotFE, they reset my progress on it. So I have to start all over.
  8. What about quests we're working on when we start KotFE? I'm currently within one boss of getting my Aratech Coral, and one Op of getting my Aratech Nightscythe. Will those be dropped from my quest log? This has been my problem with KotFE from the very beginning. "Come explore the new galaxy". With no information at all about what happens to the old galaxy. I LIKED the old galaxy. I still have a lot I want to do there.
  9. So, past planetary stories and quests are still available? What about past fleet quests (like the speeder quests)?
  10. So, I still have yet to take any character through Knights of the Fallen Empire. As much as I want to experience the story, I really hate the idea of being locked out from all the previous content. I still have some quests undone, achievements left to get, etcetera. I've heard that going to KotFE will lock you out from previous content. This includes getting rid of all your previous companions (and blocking off ship dialogue choices you may have with them), and locking you from previous quests (like Heroics or Weeklies on other planets). Can I get some sort of a rundown on what exactly I can or cannot do from the old galaxy once I start KotFE?
  11. Behold: The PvPer. Someone who doesn't understand that two characters are different despite having identical mechanics. Someone who doesn't understand characterization, lore, dialogue, or any other non-mechanical aspects to this game. Companions are PvE content because they're different characters, with different personalities, that you interact with in different quest chains. This is one of the biggest reasons why the PvP community needs to die: They don't understand any of the story that BioWare claims to be trying to build this game around. They don't even know what story is. Why are you catering to this crowd, BioWare? Why are you forcing us to interact with them for our stories? They are the antithesis to everything that YOU ADMIT your primary player base enjoys.
  12. You continuously talk about how fortunate you are that all the pieces fall right in place for you. You like PvP, you only have one toon, you don't care about the characters in the story, etcetera. Then you utterly crap on anyone pointing out that the requirements don't work for them. They work great for you. That's wonderful. Maybe other people have a right to complain when the game design is incredibly hostile to them. And, actually, there's at least one post per page talking about how alt-unfriendly some of these requirements are.
  13. Yeah, honestly, I think cross-server queues would just kill PvP even more. Winding up lower on ranked ladders, and dealing with more hostility and name calling would drive even more players out of the PvP experience, until eventually there's no one left.
  14. The fact that you think all companions are the same but for appearance explains exactly why you don't have a problem with this. Your'e one of those people who don't understand "story", "characterization", and "dialogue". In other words, you're a PvPer. And you're an example of everything that is holding back this game.
  15. M1-4X IS PVE content. If they want to incentivize it, they'd make it FUN. Good luck with that. Honestly, I think any core content should be able to be acquired through any core gameplay method. People who don't like one form of content shouldn't have to endure it to experience the core content of the story. If they wanted to "incentivize" it, they'd make M1 EASIER to get by PVP. Not ONLY able to be gotten through PVP. That doesn't "incentivize" it. It forces it. If the mission was "do 20 WZs, or run 100 FPs", I'd be okay with that. It would incentivize PvP, because the time sink is far less if you take the PVP route. But it wouldn't force it, because you'd have the alternative. Don't lock PVE content behind ANY unrelated form of content. It won't help. If people won't want to craft, forcing them to craft to get a companion would just make them resent crafting.
  16. So instead we actually have to learn how to play an entirely new game mode that we have no interest in, are going to suck at, and will never play again after we've completed this objective. Hell, I've actually TRIED at PVP in the past, and I don't think I've EVER gotten above 7 medals.
  17. Then why are you supporting this? Something that underhanded, that pathetic, that lazy, and that upsets 95% of the players?
  18. No, actually, they can't. Nothing in the rules states that you cannot harm or stop your own teammates. It will make you more likely to lose, yes. But it's completely allowed.
  19. No, A companion can make or break OWPvP. Once you have one, there is no further PvP value to be gained. The various companions are ONLY separated by their story content. Their personalities, discussions, and stories. That's it.
  20. Almost as though (shock), some people actually HATE PVP and don't want story content hidden behind it! I think that you are a nigh-perfect example of BioWare right now. "But, we only made them have to do a little PVP to get this story character. Why do they hate it so much?" BECAUSE PVP SUCKS. Also, thanks for your projection. "lol, M1-4X is one of the worst companions". Yeah, thanks. Heaven help me if I actually liked him on my Trooper and wanted him on the other characters.
  21. Yep. And I was (for the most part) allowed to do so. Until this. Companions are PVE story content. They are all functionally identical, as you have pointed out oh so many times. The difference? Their personalities and conversations. So they are story content. What story content has been gated behind Galactic Starfighter? None. What about ship missions? No. Datacron collection? Hmm, still none. Planetary map completion? Er, no. PVE is the core of the game. It's what you have to do to do almost everything. You can't even get to PVP content without going through enough PVE to get off the starter world. Everything else is optional, and story content isn't tied to any of it. Until now.
  22. You don't see any flaw because you enjoy PVP. When you have content that people hate so much that they're willing to complain about it at a rate of 15 posts a day... There's something clearly flawed.
  23. The "spirit of the game" for the SWTOR I've been playing is about saving the galaxy. Being a hero, taking down monsters, going on quests to save outposts, uncovering the secrets of the Force, etcetera. Playing a spectator sport that I hate for the entertainment of the Hutts is not a part of that spirit. If BioWare changes the spirit of the game, they shouldn't expect me to still follow it. I'll follow the OLD spirit of the game. The one which rewards role-playing. Which focuses on story and characters and being bid damned heroes. About stopping galactic threats, talking over the ethics of robotic sentience, and discussing the morality of the Sith Empire versus the Republic. When the PVP fits in with the spirit of SWTOR the way I have played it, I'll take part in it. When it's not about getting killed continuously in boring and repetitive battles that don't affect anything in the universe. When the content becomes about story, character interaction, discussion and debate, fighting monsters and threats to the galaxy (kind of like the original Alterac Valley in WoW), I'll take part. Until then, PVP is no part of the "spirit of the game". And I will not dignify it by treating it as such. I've tried PVP before. I've played with friends, at past events, in the PVP zones, etcetera. It sucks. It's boring. It's repetitive. It goes against the entire rest of the design of the game. It's broken. It's unbalanced. It's not fun. It rewards different skill sets, different play styles, and has vastly different pacing. Skills, stats, even basic movement functions that the rest of the game never uses become of utmost importance. And I loathe it with a fiery passion. It has no business being in this game. If I had a button which would turn PVP content off forever, I would press it without pause. I have, in fact, asked for one on multiple occasions. To not be flagged PVP when someone who is flagged walks in front of me and my auto-target grabs them. But, no. Even if you roll on a PVE server. Even if you never take part in PVE, hate it with every fiber of your being, and would gladly perma-ban every PVP player from the game and consider it a net gain for the community, BioWare still feels the need to force me into this atrocious, badly designed mess for content that I truly enjoy, content that DOES relate to the story and spirit of the game they have built. I haven't taken a character into KotFE yet because I've been afraid of being locked out of missions and quests from before KotFE that I haven't finished. Now, I think I'm glad I chose to wait, because being locked out of content from PVP is far worse. I'll probably just skip it entirely.
  24. I think the reason "not as many players are completing their personal objectives" is because no one knows or cares what those objectives are. The Conquest system is, overall, completely forgettable, and far too over-complicated. The objectives aren't defined clearly at all. The achievements are multiple pages in, under Strongholds. There is no clear way to know what you're supposed to do. There is no clear benefit for doing it. There is no easy way to track progress. You can change it as much as you want, but unless people actually know what to do, and can track it easily in-game, AND know what they're getting out of it, it's a pointless system. Most players aren't going to go to an online guide for a system that they don't even know helps them any. I've been a Subscriber since the game launched. I've popped into the forums several times. I've done every quest, I've done some PvP, I've gotten Strongholds, I've done Starfighter battles... What can I tell you about Conquests? It puts a guild name up on a planetary area. That's it. I don't know what, if any, bonuses it gives, I don't know how to participate, I don't know what the requirements are. Because the game doesn't tell you ANYTHING about the Conquest system. If you want people to participate, implement the systems better in-game.
