ppl wining about not being able to play with their friends right away should just do this:

star a character you would never have considered playing, and play that untill your friend can come play with you, THEN start your main character...

easy peasy

untill you get in, you could allways laugh at the tears of your fellow waiters as they wine about wait time wile you yourself dont really care as long as you get in at least the 19th :p

:D:D:D

They should have provided up to 5 days early access with the clear understanding that every character would be deleted on December 20. This would have solved a lot of issues, and would still provide a smooth launch on December 20, 2011.

What the hell would be the point? Your idea is as stupid as the OP's idea. The way this does it the first four planets wont be jammed with 20,000 people trying to quest.

THINK before you talk, you wont shame your parents that way.

Wow. Worst.Idea.Ever. Again you cant get in and want to punish those that had the foresight to order early? Wait your turn, the turn you earned with your preorder.

Staggered access does not guarantee starting areas will not be jammed with people trying to do the same quest on December 20.

I am not sure how many people were online in the last 2 beta tests they did, but I don't recall ever have an issue with not being able to to a quest because the questing area was jammed with people.

How many people do you think will be online on December 20, 2011? Everyone with a pre-order is more than likely going to be online + everyone else who ordered it after the pre-order period.

It will definitely be jam packed that day.

yea they let everyone on the same day at the same time and the servers will go boom boom. Unless i am mistaken each planet can have several different versions of it running at once with 200 per instance of that planet. now with the stress tests we saw that they can handle lots of people but they will lag up a storm if to many people are in the starting areas. I want a clean launch that is playable and if millions of people were to log on at once the servers would crash and that would be a bad launch.

by that time, most early-access people are way over level 20 and

not even in starter areas, so...well im not worried.

Besides if bounty hunter area is too occupied, i can aalway go inquisitor etc.

Well, if to say i even get in.

but still a good point you have, but i like to have an open mind & the options are there.

750,000 during the thanksgiving test... there are 1 million + pre-orders. Again, THINK.

I am thinking. That would be roughly 33% more, if the numbers you provided would be correct.

I don't believe it would pose an issue, since there was no issue with regards to questing or starter areas in the last 2 beta rounds. In fact, it ran very smooth.

To be fair to everyone, wipe the servers clean, fresh start for all, and begin on the 15th as originally planned.

Dec 15th servers open as planned, except all preorders are given access. This is the best way to solve this trainwreck of an early access.

This is the ONLY chance Bioware has to redeem itself, else go down in gaming history among the epic fails, and this one is true darwin launch. In order to prevent a situation where a lot of players are unable to play due being in server queues, they created a system that left the vast majority of players STUCK IN QUEUES with unknown wait times, waiting for their game access to be turned on. They've chosen by far the greater of two evils.

And when dec 20th comes around, with the current system they're probably going to end up with queues and server crashing anyway. How dumb.

No thanks. Everything is going as planned, and great.

i totally agree with this, why should anyone be at a disadvantage?

What is the disadvantage you speak of... That is like saying someone who starts in 6 months is at a disadvantage and should never play...

There is no endless queue here.. They said they are having staggered early access and they are. Some people got the game much earlier then others, they committed their money while everyone else waited.

This game is in no way going to fail because you feel you need in right now....

They never said launch day for all players was going to be December 15th.... "play UP TO 5 days early".. you should have pre-ordered earlier if you wanted in earlier.. we all knew this was going to be the case 5 months ago.. where were you?

But you are not considering that during the Thanksgiving weekend beta there was a large number of the population that were spread out across various levels/planets due to having played the previous weekend.

Hmm, that sounds strangely like what this staggered early access is trying to accomplish. So I guess what you're saying is that you approve of their methods since it obviously led to a smooth beta weekend experience for you?

I am not sure if I am following you, but yes, they were 2 smooth beta weekends.

However, the servers will be jam packed at launch day and well after that, staggered access or not.

Everyone seems to assume they know the network topology and how starter areas are divided between servers. There's no way of knowing, so I rather go by what we do know : a million or so people online during December 20, 2011.
