  1. They have multiple servers (mirrors) providing patches and game files. As you found out, pausing and resuming will switch you to a different server. Repeat this until you get a DL rate that you're happy with.
  2. No idea if this will help or not, here is an experience I had however with one of my companions. He wanted to talk to me in private, so I went to my ship - nadda. Okay, I went back to Coruscant and to the Cantina - nadda. Okay, I travel to Tython and to the Cantina - nadda. Hrm... ah, okay I travel to the Fleet Cantina - woolah, he will talk now! I then had a similar experience with another character on another toon. He wouldn't talk to me until I took him to the Tython cantina. I'd just try different cantinas.
  3. Tatooine has the speeders your looking for. I feel bad for any that buy one from the Fleet thinking that, that is all there is for them right now. That is of course, unless one of the speeders they like is there. More power to them, if so. I liked the ones on Tatooine better though.
  4. Please, show me a video of you taking on a group of elite mobs (equal or more powerful than you) solo - with no companion. Until then, I call greedy bulls here. Better yet, show me you as a Jedi Shadow doing this. Or even a Jedi Sage.
  5. Looks like we'll have to hope for an official response - I searched the internet for about 10 minutes. There just doesn't seem to be any record of who plays that character's voice, public anyway.
  6. Wrong on all accounts. Well, in my opinion anyway, since I cannot live very long without my companion. My companions are my characters. They are an extension of my very character. My companion is my tank and can be my healer. At times, my character actually feels secondary to my companion.
  7. I guess then, I'll repost my logic, which to me means your sarcastic logic is a fail. Oh wait, logic? No no, opinion is a better word - that way no one fails.
  8. I do not see this thread as a petition. I see it as feedback.
  9. Also, if it is taking you more than 20 mins to do a repair, this is a good indicator that something is bogging your system down. You may need to clean up all the temporary crapola a on it and then defrag that beast of a HD you have (Terabyte?). Again, CCleaner is a great tool not only for registry fixing but also for cleaning up the temporary files Windows leaves behind, bogging things down. My last repair only took me 8 minutes. I have a 1gb ATI, 4gb of ram, Intel Dual Core 2.2/2.2 GHz with 300gb HD. I defrag monthly and run CCleaner weekly along with using NIS 2012 and Spybot S&D.

  11. First, update it and its signatures. Then do a complete scan and if you can, get a boot scan disk to do a boot scan, to rule out a virus or malware. Then, grab yourself a spyware scanner and remover and use it. You may even want to look into a Registry Fixer (CCleaner is great) to make sure you don't have some outstanding registry issues. Once you're sure your PC is Virus an Malware free and you don't have any Registry Errors, try disabling the AV software next time you patch and re-enable it after the patching is fully complete (Play button light up).
  12. Something may be causing corruption during the patching process. What AV software do you have? -- Try disabling it next time before patching and re-enable it after the patching is complete. What other things do you have running? -- shut down those inane background tasks that do nothing but hog resources (and possibly cause conflics - depending on what it is doing). How much free space do you have on your HD? -- Maybe you're page file is exceeding your HD limit? You may have a virus corrupting new data. -- Update your AV Program and/or signature database, run a full scan and even a boot scan if possible. There could be a lot of reasons for this and none of them could have anything to do with the game.
  13. I am sorry but my companions and my ships are an extension on my very character, in a sense, they are my character(s). Even if they did implement a "companion" button on the loot roll gump, I will still click need if my character needs it - keeping in mind the a fore-mentioned sentence.. The way I see it, those who have a problem with this are the greedy ones, not me. The only thing I do not do, is roll need on things that I could use on my Alternate Characters. Anyone who remembers grouping with me though, will attest that I am far from greedy and in fact, I have been known to open trades with group members when it is all over and give them things I think they might need, that I picked up. I will still roll need on anything my character needs (again, keeping in mind the first sentence in this post).
  14. I took several screens of the English VO Cast and put them together into two images (approx 300k each). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v413/zeb3/swtor/swtor_vo_actors01.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v413/zeb3/swtor/swtor_vo_actors02.jpg I do not see a listing for a "Tai Cordan," do you mean "Torian Cadera?" If so, that is Johnny Yong Bosch. Cam Clarke is on the additional VO lists, so it may just very well be him, if you are correct in looking for a "Tai Cordan." General Garza is Kate Weiman. Thought it was Kate Mulgrew (Captain Janeway) for a while, heh. Love her voicing for the General, never the less. She also did Barbara Jagger's voice in Alan Wake.
  15. I'll sit through the credits again and note it down. I was wanting to anyway to see who a couple other Voice Actors/Actresses were. Sucks that all the VO lists are at the end. It would be super awesome if BioWare would provide a PDF or Text based list of the credits for ease of reading.
  16. Stop looking for those mod tabes. Take a look at the item's tool-tip that you want to modify. Check out the bright orange text at the bottom. You will be kicking yourself, I am sure. Cheers!
  17. Cheers! Thank you as well for a good thread! Was starting to loose faith on these forums.
  18. I do agree - to an extent. More game-pressing issues (ability delay, graphic textures, etc) should keep priority. However, not all Developers work on and have the same area of expertise as each other. This means that multiple things are worked on at a time. There is no reason to put some developers out of work just because other developers are working on more critical issues.
  19. Thanks! Just to note, Miraluka and Mirialan are different races. Miraluka do not have facial tatoos, the Mirialan (green people) do however and do not have facial masks.
  20. A Dude? Anywho, "Member of the Republic," "He is with the Republic," "She is Republic!" and "I am Republic!" I do not think I have ever seen or heard of anyone get called a "Republican" in Star Wars lore. The word, "Republic," can be a proper noun and an adjective, without any prefixing or suffixing, just by its self.
  21. Agreed. One just needs to learn about the advanced classes prior to creation, then decide what class to make. Not anyone else's fault but one's own that you rolled up a character and chose the DPS AC instead of Healing. The Codex entries and the mission gumps explain your ACs to you in great detail...
  22. Don't forget, Miraluka face masks should be able to be changed, post-creation.
  23. No. Thank the gods there isn't this invasion of privacy too. If they're your real life friends, then you shouldn't have any issues getting their character names directly from them, correct?
  24. My companions and my ship are an extension of my very character. With that in mind, if anyone has a problem with me rolling need on an item that I need for my character, then that is their problem, not mine. (thought I posted this already? hrm) Edit, ahh, I guess I did, sorry for repost.
