  1. Hey there. Does anybody know whether there is a way of getting a rid of an item in hook that is completely covered by the item in that hook, other than resetting all decorations in the room? I installed a "Factory Ceiling Crane" in a ceiling hook. It was a little large, but I thought it would be acceptable in my starship hangar. Except that it actually pierces through the roof of the and occupies a large portion of the terrace above and blocks the hooks there as well. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AgOC4Ing0Qw7gP9Pjmk9wu1Cp95_UQ?e=tuacXk https://1drv.ms/u/s!AgOC4Ing0Qw7gP9Q4RlNM-kwX9obfw?e=4l8Rwz I'd very much like to get rid of it, but I don't know how to select the hook that the crane occupies, and I don't want to mess up the arrangement of all the starfighters and their support facilities by resetting the room.
  2. That may be nice, but that's something people have always been asking since before launch (except that before we got beta access we didn't know that it would not be possible to decorate our starships in the first place). However, I believe the main thing is that the player ship gets somehow populated after KotFE. To transform the player ship into some variant housing would go far beyond that.
  3. Would it be in the realm of possible to just give the players a means to populate their player ship somehow? While our star ship is not particularly important anymore, I find it sad how empty it is whenever I do get there; and recently I had to a couple of times, since the latest flashpoint story line was put on the mission terminal on the ship. I can think of a number of ways to do that: a) Let the player pick several of their existing companions, one for each "slot" in the ship. A slot would be "Bridge - Pilot", "Bridge - Coms", "Engineering", "Holoterminal", "Medical Bay", "Stareboard Room" ... things like that. b) Add a single one slot to the star ship and sell Cartel Market Items to populate the ship with a conclusive crew of a faction. I.e. Galactic Empire Crew, Pirate Crew, Sith Empire Crew, Jedi Crew, Sith Crew, Smuggler Crew, Chiss Ascendency Crew... c) A mix of both, sell cartel market items for personel that can be unlocked for the ship, each constituting a single one person for a specific role. In that case the personnell might also provide additional services (appearance customization terminal, if the player also has a stronghold legacy terminal, etc.) While there are ways I like better than others, any would constitute an improvement over an empty ship.
  4. For a smuggler I would pick either a show off mount, maybe something that smells of a classic with chrome applications, or I would pick a relatively small makeshift speeder that looks like it had just been assembled, isn't supposed to be pretty and easily fits inside a star ships cargo hold.
  5. That may be true to some degree, but even though she may be intentionally boring, boring is still bad. Besides, I neither like her outburst of demonstrative indignation, nor her schoolmasterly attitude, which I much rather see in her than "wisdom". She radiates everything that is wrong with the Jedi order: Arrogance, detachment from the world and from life. Any compassion she shows does not feel sincere, it feels like an studied act to display her own moral superiority. Even though that may be intentional, that is not what I like to play. A Jedi Shadow happens to be my main character, planned out during the last few betas and created within the first hour when the game came life. She does have her strong moments, particularly when she is sly and talks with double meanings, but all in all I don't like it. This becomes particularly apparent in KotET and KotFE, where one has a direct comparison to the other character classes. (On a side note: Even though I consider myself to be a fan of Jennifer Hale, I don't particularly like the female trooper either. I do like Commander Shepard from Mass Effect, Chu Chi and Aayla Secura from The Clone Wars, Bastila from KotOR, and I suppose Satele is ok as long as I don't have to play her) While I had bigger problems than the voice when the game was released (namely the look), and I liked the "Shadow" advanced class as such. I like the female Imperial Agent.
  6. It would not entirely surprise me if they were mutually exclusive, though. Even if not, they are probably rather rivals than partners. The one thing they had in common was which has already been dealt with in the mean time. I just hope Kira will get along with Lana. (I play only female characters, so Kira was never an option, but some of my characters, including one of my Jedi Knights, have a romance with Lana. Kira isn't known to be particularly fond of Sith.)
  7. I generally prefer simple and sporty speeders which aren't too bulky. It depends on the a little on the character. Light Racers: The Aratech series. Particularly the oldest of those, which has always since start, the Aratech Scythe. Recently I have been using an Aratech Eclipse more often, even though the simplicity of the Scythe's design has some charm to it. I also like shorter variations of the Ikas speeders. The only one I have actually unlocked is the Ikas X-7 Heavier speeders: Some of my characters use the heavier Command Corsair since its relatively recent appearance. One of my characters uses the relatively bulky, but somehow more traditional appearance of the Morlinger NG-6 Others: My Bounty Hunter typically uses an MSM J-37 Jetpack. My trooper uses a BA-2 Recon Walker. I never use beasts as mounts. I never use speeders which require the user to stand upright at the end. The thing I am looking for, but never really found, is a speeder in which the character can sit, so that outfits with a skirt do not have clipping problems. I haven't really found any I like. Sometimes I use the Chiss Interceptor, which was a recent subscriber reward or something, but I would prefer an open speeder over one that replace the character altogether. There are some good looking double seated sport car speeders, but those are generally too big for my taste and often clip with the environment.
  8. Well, I am glad this is settled then. One thing I wanted to mention is that is not necessary for the existing lower tier item that you wish to swap for a higher tier token to be in your inventory. Even though you cannot have it equipped, it is enough to keep it in your personal cargo hold. Whether or not the same is true for "Unassembled Components" I do not know, but know that it is not enough to keep them in your legacy cargo hold.
  9. Not yet. I don't think that it something that weekend support can answer off hand.
  10. I did chapter VII in veteran mode for conquest. It appears I did not receive conquest points when I was done, even though I might be mistaken. I did not see the message that I completed the achievement for it either, even though I clearly received it as it was the first time I did it veteran mode, so it may have gotten lost while I was skipping over the finishing dialogues. I scrolled back after completing it, but the chat history was inconclusive as many things from the flashpoint were missing, including its completion, even though I did get the rewards, fled with the ship and ended up on Odessen again. Unfortunately I did not investigate further at this point, and since the daily goals may have cycled sine then, Still, it should have awarded me with 1279 points (incl. 55% stronghold bonus) and I believe I already had more than 20,000 points. According to achievements, I was done in 05/13/2018 2:12:22 PM. If that is UTC, after the last cycle of the dailies, which means it should be still marked as completed in my conquest log, which it isn't. If that is my time, it would not. So I was wondering whether this was an oversight on my part, or does it actually not count in veteran mode?
  11. I for one did get the title. I also got the unlock item, it's still in the inventory of the character who finished the last mission. I just can't use it.
  12. When I think back to the beginning of SW:TOR, one quote comes instantly into mind: -- James Ohlen, Studio Creative Director and Lead Designer, Bioware, from a pre-release promo video, published in September 2011 There once was a video response to that, which I can't find anymore. Footage from the above promo video, with transations to footage of a group fighting the world boss on Taris. All classes easily recognizable, for all members of the same class looked about the same. Standing in dirty, but not at all intimidating swamp, fighting a single one big, but clunky rather than frightening world boss. This image is the best approximation of criticism I could find from 2012: http://i.imgur.com/Yc6so.jpg By now there is one kind of content to which this applies to some degree. Not a very popular kind of content. Uprisings. When I fought Karraga's and later Soa's legs for the first time, I felt incredibly fooled. Yes, it was a promotional video, of course they exaggerated, but the contrast between this statement and the game as it presented itself frustrated me beyond belief. I once so a video comment to that statement, blending footage from the above video with footage from a group fighting the world boss of Taris. A single one large, ugly thing that pushes everyone back, a group standing in the mud that looks not at all interesting, just dirty, all members of the same class dressed about the same, or at least very similar outfits, all invariably with extremely clunky shoulder ... buildings. Story was always Bioware's strong suit, but the fewest players played more than two class story arcs. Given the pace of levelling at launch and the lack of end-game, I believe that many players stayed long enough to play one character of either side up to level 50, after which they had seen enough and the game would become extremely repetitive. And the remaining stories were just not good enough to put up with weeks of grinding to see about 30 minutes of video sequences (counting only one path of dialogue) of a story that isn't that good. A slightly off topic rant, elaborating my personal reason for the first time of absence from the game, in March or April 2012:
  13. Same happened to me. I filed a support ticket in the "items" category. Maybe "companions" would have been better, but it's the item I cannot interact with.
  14. Well I can tell you how Vitiate (who wanted to consume all life in the galaxy, at least as far as we know) became Valkorian (the authoritarian, but on some level still benevolent ruler of Zakuul, at the same time): They had a cliffhanger open after Ziost and wanted to tell a completely different story, but they could not just leave Ziost without some kind of conflusion. In consequence they came up with the brilliant idea: "Hey, let's just claim that this guy is that other guy!" It is my understanding that the trap was that everyone was brought to Iokath and then the Machine Lords awakened.
  15. Well, the manipulation of the throne was an inside job, even though we are also considering the faction we were allied with. What lured us to Iokath was the equally phrased message that all factions got at the same time a which anyone might have send, not just Theron. That might have been an inside job of the Eternal Alliance, but anyone might have sent it. It simply did not require any kind of betrayal to do that. Tyth is, as far as I know, a little bonkers, as he is the living embodiment of rage. I did not take the phrase "ignite the war" as a reference to the war between Repulic and Empire, but something regarding Tyth's own plans and the fact that there is a war going on around it. After all: How would Tyth now? Tyth doesn't know the plans that lead up to this situation. As far as I know, he is just guessing and repeats a monologue he held in similar forms before. They might as well have put in Soa's monologue and it still would fit. "They come, marching, believing themselves equal to the army of ancients that chained me. But I am not of their time. Their ancestors called me Tyth, wrath and power, and knew fear. For I ruled a thousand worlds, and Zakuul was my crown, Iokath my cradle and my testing ground. I have waited twenty thousand years, but I will wait no longer." -- would fit pretty well, imho, and it wouldn't have made a difference as far as I am concerned.
  16. Possibly. I honestly don't know. Theron could not have done anything without the Gemini unit knowing about it, though. I am more inclined to think that he was just doing the Order of Zldrog's bidding to maintain his cover.
  17. Hmmmm. Well, the message that brought the factions to Iokath was before the thing with the throne, when the throne was sabotaged, it is the first time we notice that there is a traitor. The location of Iokath had not been a secret, Vaylin's forces had known about it, the Gemini units had known about it as well. With so many people involved it was public knowledge to anyone who really wanted to know. However, this specific super weapon had been news the Eternal Alliance, the information did not original come from us. In so far I don't know what you mean with data leak. Of course Gemini 16 had already been spying on the Eternal Alliance at the time, but we did not realise it. Gemini 16 must have figured that out by herself; as well as the fact that the super weapon is in fact the gods from the machine. If there was any information being leaked before that, I must have forgotten about it. Who exactly did sent the message I do not know, but if Theron did it, then it was on Gemini's behalf.
  18. My counter is currently standing at 39/40 and I am queued for a GSF battle, so it may be a good time to ask: Can one actually earn Darth Hexid with a character that has not done Knights of the Fallen Empire? My current character skipped KotFE and KotET to go straight to Iokath. However, the description of the item you get says that you get an Alliance Alert to meet Darth Hexid. I am not sure whether this particular character of mine is eligible to alliance alerts in the first place.
  19. It's difficult to say, because I don't have any knowledge of the numbers, but my impression is that even though the height of MMOs if over, one can still make good money out of it. It is true what you say. Since the release of SW:TOR the market has not become any better. Younger people are more focused on smart phones by now and customers fluctuate more, one may be able to hold a customer for half a year, but hardly longer. However, in spite of all this, especially given the cartel market (the so called micro transaction, even though they aren't that micro), one can still make good business with an MMO. It is unlikely that the will reach the two million subscribers that SW:TOR two months after launch, not to mention the twelve million that they had been hoping for and the revenue won't be as obscene as they hoped for. But it still is a good business. Make it big, advertise your game properly, get a good first few months and then stabilize at a few hundred customers, and you get your money back. Maintaining the game costs money, and the return of sales won't be several hundred percent, but I wouldn't be surprised if something in the range of 50% should be doable. With the Star Wars franchise in its back it should be doable. That will depend on how the franchise will be perceived after the Star Wars IX, of course. But if the franchise is running well, it will be a waste not to create a new game and catch a new generation of customers. While SW:TOR was never as big as they had hoped for... they were still glaring at the 12 million subscribers of WoW at the time after all, I don't think it took them long to get the development out again, and even with declined subscriber numbers, it's still profitable to develop new content.
  20. Well, like I laid out, I don't think that will happen in 2023, I guess they will extend it. There just isn't enough time to come up with an entirely new game to replace SW:TOR, especially if they would rather wait until after Star Wars IX to even get started. And I don't see the point in pulling the plug on SW:TOR as long as it is the only MMO.
  21. SPOILERS! I think that in order to understand what is going on, one needs to reach back further. The Order of Zildrog, Zakuulan Society Gemini 16 What was the original betrayal? For which reason were we brought to Iokath? Why did the traitor betray us? Why did the traitor get them the map?
  22. I did not realize that the license would expire - my guess would have been that it lasts as long until Disney revokes it... Intriguing thought, actually. I always thought that, once all three of the films are out, Disney might not go into creating another film at once, but try to exploit the state of the art then for a while. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney would extend the licence, though. I really don't think that Disney is going to revoke the licence as long as SW:TOR remains the only Star Wars MMO. The problem is: Developing a game of this magnitude takes more than five years. The investment in fully voiced, intense story telling may or may not have payed out and from the players perspective, it is not as intense as dedicated single player games, but I find it unlikely that the fans will put up with anything less, thus, any new game will have to be the same in that regard. On top of it, I don't think they'll even start developing another game will even start before Star Wars IX is out. Disney will likely want to choose the setting right after Star Wars IX as the base for any new Star Wars MMO (except that there need to be Jedi and Sith, players want glow rods. It doesn't have to be literal Jedi, but it has to be some kind of space magic user with a lightsaber). Which means the development is unlikely to commence before Star Wars IX is out. Not only does the situation need to be known without doubt (and before the film is released anything can change), but also the game developers need to be aware of all the visual motives in order to incorporate them in their game. Star Wars lives from visual effects. So, either I am wrong and there is already some basic development going on, likely by Electronic Arts again, but not necessarily Bioware, or SW:TOR will last longer than until 2013, because the window between the release of Star Wars IX in 2019 and the 2013 would be too narrow to come up with a big new game. The one question that gnaws on me most is: What if they don't develop another MMO? Can you still reach a young audience with an MMO? I would consider that better, because even for the most enthusiastic player SW:TOR will have used itself up eventually and it's time for something new.
  23. I believe that was intentional. They needed more solo content for maximum level characters. Before they introduced level sync, many of the heroics were basically dead content, there were a lot of heroics that I've done for the very first time only after the level sync system was introduced. While in the first few months of the game people actually played them, once the demographics of the game changed so that most players weren't actually leveling, but actually max level and the populace on low level planet decreased, heroics became less feasible. It's not an ideal solution, but there was a high demand for missions for max level characters on the one hand, the pace of levelling up had increased and there was little demand for heroics in their original role, so they were re-purposed, which, in my opinion, was the right decision given the circumstances at the time. Why let good content rot, when there is a high demand for activities in other areas of the game?
  24. That may be so, but the advantage of the heightened pace is that one experiences the character story as a whole. Back when the game was new and I played my first characters it was usually so that I had forgotten what the story is actually about by the time I reached chapter III. There were often situations when I met an important NPC, from the dialogue between my character and that NPC I could conclude that this was somehow important but I couldn't help but wonder "Who is this guy? What is my character talking about?" I dunno, maybe my attention span is just shorter than everyone else's, but I am inclined to think that the slow pace at the start of the game was destructive to the story. It would have helped, and still help, if the codex was arranged in a way that makes it easy to reconstruct the events and Bioware had added a legacy codex with the legacy system, that enables the player to reconstruct the overall events and themes.
