  1. I would say Orange with purple mods is the best. Off the bat, the purple the built in stats, but I believe an orange item with all purple mods should be better. A purple is better than a orange with level 50 blue mods.
  2. I feel the same way. I quit because of many reasons, but the main reason is the classes don't feel heroic as all the video's of SWTOR suggested. This game's content is built around fighting multiple enemies at all times. Fighting two white strong mobs is often harder then a gold elite. I find a lot of "Cheap shots" in this game. Attacking a mob then 4 more teleport or jetpack in (cool at first, but annoying later). Putting a gold elite mob in every class quest or in front of mission objectives. Putting tons of mobs (that must be cleared) in the single path of an objective with white strong patrols to trip you up. Lots of knockdowns and skills with long timers getting interrupted. As a Jedi all of my skills seemed to do horrible damage and fights are too long. Well, I should say, fights against white strong mobs are too long and the weaker mobs are simply too easy, too weak. My Trooper was the easiest to level to 50, because you get Elara early on and you have a skill that can do some CC for a minute. All classes need that due to forced clumping of enemy mobs in this game. I wish there were normal 1-2 single mobs with health somewhat in the middle. This is what most MMO's have as mobs. Not in SWTOR though, where a white mob with the same health as you is mixed with 2-3 weaker ones. It doesn't feel heroic. I tried many classes as well and I got 2 classes to 50 (others to 35+) and I only played them because although I found the story decent, I didn't really like the classes at all. I would have to somewhat agree that the only interesting AC's are the Sorcerer and Sage.
  3. My Assassin was much worse, I almost bailed on it, but when back and hit 50. My Trooper (Commando) was cake compared to the Assassin and Guardian. My son could just mash buttons and take out Elites and he didn't even know what he was doing. I felt my Vigilance spec Guardian was a bit weak on Tatooine, so when I left for Alderaan, I tried the Defense spec and let Kira do her thing. It's much better. Now that I have Doc (35), I hardly take any damage at all, so I may try Focus and see how that goes. So, OP, I agree with you to a certain extent, but try the Assassin and get back us, it's much harder.
  4. There's needs to be a 2.5. I know this has been mentioned before, at least in beta, that the jump from 2 to 3 is too much. With that, I chose 2. I feel a bit scrawny though, but it fits with the Clone/Storm trooper look.
  5. My only problem with it is it washes out the icons too much and that flash at the end seems too slow. It also seems I can still use some of the skills when they are cooling down. I could swear the bar seems a little different after Wednesdays patch (which fixed Illum pvp), but it could just be a placebo effect, lol.
  6. Well, there's the problem right there. You can't play the class the way you want. If you don't choose a certain companion or specialization, you can do anything well. THAT is a problem. The class is like the WoW mage without the DPS. It's a glass jaw with no cannon. It's exhausting using Seethe after every fight. It's tiring going through a healing stim for any tough fight. It's ridiculous to have to use a certain companion or you can't play. The game throws many gold elites and double strong mobs at you in the 30's and 40's. Good luck with that. The entire class is a mess and if the only way to make it work is some hybrid spec and epic gear for my companion, forget it. The game should work with all specs and all companions, depending on the situation. The trooper ROLLS the assassin for levelling and gets a healer companion at 20 and can do 10x more.
  7. Not a troll, I'm serious. Khem stinks. I've geared up him up, I played other classes in beta and went with something I haven't played. This class is fail, probably unless you are 50 and PvPing as a stealther. I could barely do some of my class quests, never had that problem with any other class. This class is squishy like a mage but with healer dps. Fail. Lock it all you want. It sucks.
  8. I'm level 44 and on Voss. My equipment is mostly orange, with item upgrades for my level that are blue/purple. My gear is better than any quest reward or what I could find on the GTN. The rest of my items are mostly blue (belt, bracers, offhand item, ear, etc), with 1-2 greens my level. I have 11k health. I have tried all 3 specialziations and I find that only the tanking spec is able to come out of most fights alive. I'm talking soloing here. I can't even tank two +1 or +2 "white" mobs without dieing, as a tank spec and that's with Talos! Oh, btw, I can't even function without Talos healing me. Forget using anyone else, I'll die. This class is waaay to squishy. The damage-per-squishy ratio is way off. The double-ended saber damage is laughable for the 2-3 attacks you have and doing 1k damage from my biggest attack is laughable. I have ditched this character because I can't take it anymore. For those below 30, there are tons of Gold elites in the future zones and there are many fights that are just frustrating. This is the most frustrating class I have ever played in 10 years of playing MMO's. Seriously. I love this game and have rerolled a Trooper and so far it's going very well. The Assassin is just an exercise in frustration.
  9. I'm not new to MMO's or games that are challenging. I have to say, as much as I love my Assassin, I am getting really frustrated with the class, mainly relating to the Class quests and companions. If you haven't finished Chapter 1, then skip this post. *** SPOILERS *** I am level 33 and I'm on Taris. I have to say the last few levels have made me want to dump this class altogether. What is the deal with all of the ELITES in every class quest? Elite bosses on Alderaan, etc. I had such a hard time there. These are solo class missions and regular planetary missions and putting in these elite bosses is insane. I can understand a "white" strong boss or something, but my god. I died like 5x on the Jedi Commander boss and even more on Zash. I was respeccing my character to try different builds and still couldn't do it. I have mostly Orange gear with all the latest Blue mods. Zash was horrible because they forced me to use the horrendous Khem Val, who I updated with some gear as well. That leads me into my next issue, the companions. Revel is good, but that's about it. Khem stinks and I just got Ashara, so I can't speak for her yet, but the game is designed to play with these companions...and they stink. I know there are other threads on Khem but god, he is aweful. I'm hearing it only gets worse 40+, do I have to go with a tank spec just to play this game? Also, the going back and forth to DK/Imperial Fleet/DK and all these places to talk to one NPC was driving me insane. I'm hoping it gets better, because the story is very good, but you went overboard with all of the gold elites everywhere.
  10. Um, the downtime is 7PM Eastern US Time and 4PM Pacific....it hardly "suits" the Americans, lol. We've heard this for years on the WoW forums. When a country in the EU launches a MMO, give us a call.
  11. Is there one? For example. You wait in a queue for 30 minutes and are now in game. Then you get disconnected. In "another" MMO, you can get right back in if you log in within a certain amount of time, your account is flagged for 5-10 mins maybe.
  12. Get over it. The pre-order was supposed to start on the 15th! They made it longer, most people would only have 5 days head start. The amount of crying here about the pre-order play is unreal. I guarantee all these people will be crying about the lack of content when they are all 50 come January.
