  1. This is what was mentioned, and it´s looking really really good.
  2. This is a form of god-mode playing. You can bang your head against it 24/7, they will just make it worse and escalating their behavior. In all mmo´s when facing these god-mod´s, the best thing is to just ignore them and see to it that you never invite them in group or do any form of roleplaying with them. One of the worst encounters was in another mmo where a guild was always hiding behind their guild-city walls whenever you where there to face them and their crimes towards the issues at hand. They spit and p****d on the rules of treaties and arrangements. Then as icing on the cake, they did a whole lot of god mode typing to you in tell such as /sticks a blade in your arm that you cannot deflect or /punches you to the ground bleeding and almost unconscious etc etc... These players want power, protection from ALL things that can bite them back and they will take on the Emperor himself with a big /giggle and not even care less about a word as consequence. Simply because they misuses the game-system in lack of a better word.
  3. We need them to be an option that people can toggle on/off. Also, they need to be able to use in guilds only, group only etc and NOT only be a general use or not use. I am all in for Chat-b, but the downside is that if they are made permanent and not a subject to personal on/off toggle, we will have the areas filled with OOC and leetspeach from time to time. That = more problems than good. So, a toggle on/off option solves a lot.
  4. I am not reporting every single name i see, but i do report names i feel is either offensive, some form of harassment or inappropriate. If i feel a name is questionable, i either discuss it with my guild or see what general chat says. If i think it´s a clear name for reporting, i do asap. These names that need no second thought are so offensive that you really just stare at the screen for a while and triple-check the print-screen. These are names with sexual/racial themes or other not suitable for mentioning. So far i have had excuses from the CS about these names i have reported and i have not seen them ever since, and i am sure that had i committed a "non accepted" report, i would have received a notice on it by now.
  5. This is also true with ranks yes. Also to consider, there are extreme examples regarding "names", and they are a no doubt choice. The biggest problem is that some "names" is names for one and a immersion-breaker / offensive for another. We can agree that we all feel different, but in the end, the decision is made elsewhere.
  6. Then you have your opinion and i have mine. If a CS representative deems my naming-report invalid, he/she is free to ignore it. Even though there is no "specific" naming rule for RP servers yet, there are still the general rules and those in RoC. Also, if i find one name offensive and report it, who are anyone else to say that it is invalid for me? If i find a guild filled with all names from items in my refrigerator, i will report them. It´s as simple as that. If you do not like that, i respect your opinion.
  7. Jeff O´Toast Loaf O´bread Box AláMilk Are these OK on a roleplaying server then in your book? It is pretty strange though that names i have reported, and know other have reported have been changed. They have been in that "class" and worse. Then again friend, it´s up to one and all what we feel is offensive, unfitting or otherwise appropriate for a report.
  8. If you are trying to convince me that Tub O´butter is working as a name on RP baser servers, you can say what you will. I will never accept it and i will report names in that "caliber" without a doubt. But that is just my way, as your way is accepting "names" like that. Since you are quoting rules, mind sending me that link so i can bookmark it. Here is one for you with more rules on names. http://www.swtor.com/legalnotices/rulesofconduct
  9. If you let these "names" slide, go ahead. I would report it and so would others. The naming-policy is pretty strict and if you pronounce that "name", you do hear that it is a mock/joke and nothing like Adam, Shimani, Rathano, Ben or Nedano or others that can work as actual names. The lack of respect on RP servers has always been a problem. Somehow, it´s perfectly fine to pick fatandjuicybutt as a name and then stand around with a big ? saying "i think it´s a perfectly good name" with a hint of a smile. If you are a vegetarian, don´t order the fat stake. If it´s 30 - C outside, don´t go out naked. If you don´t like a violent person, don´t invite him to your barbecue. The list is endless. If you don´t intend on roleplaying, still use an RP friendly, name because you did pick that kind of server. Pure and simple.
  10. Instant report. That is not even a debate about it. Secondly, if one think names like that are "funny", then there is even less use for a discussion.
  11. So you say BioWare will ignore their own naming-policy or what?
  12. That message is in need of a change since there is always the general naming-policy that all need to follow. Leet-speak names are already forbidden so no matter the excuse, they will be moderated when reported.
  13. The forums are in serious need of a clean-up. There is no much hate-posting and rage and yelling each day that any useful and actual constructive posts are pushed back to side 2-3 or more. When people just starts threads on random for the use of name-calling, spewing hatred on the developers etc, we can flag them. Many are removed or moderated, but the haters go on. Place a forum-timeout on flagged posters when they reach a certain amount of reports. This way they cannot post for anything between 24 hours to several days. Already i have seen one death-threat, several harassments and just pure and simple angeled hate with no constructive base what so ever.
  14. Welcome to the world of RP-Pve bud! The difference is indeed a great deal between these two servers, but there are also at least as many differences as there are players. Some will tell you that the pvp aspect is 100% needed to get the entire feeling of roleplaying a member of this day and age, and others ( as my self ) will point out that the ratio between getting harassed/griefed or involved in actual RP pvp is far to great. You can always try them both, but as far as experience tells me and my personal view, RP-Pve has a more mature feeling and you also have a greater interest for the actual roleplaying part. On several occasions in other games, the usual comment was " i roleplay a ganker / harassment is my roleplay / lol i roleplay that i wanna kill you all 24/7 n00b "
  15. There are still countless names that can be reported on RP servers, and those few that there could be a doubt about....well those i have missed so far. It´s either a perfectly good name, or one for the reporting.
  16. I would like to suggest that every 14´th day or once a month BioWare posts a sticky on the amount of tickets sent in for each category. Perhaps this will allow players to see the massive amount of work in line and also remove the need some people have on posting new threads over and over again, asking why their issue has not been solved.
  17. I tend to keep an eye open when crafting or standing in an area waiting for my companion to return from a mission or such. All names seen that falls under the category of reporting is either sent one by one, but as of today i will start collecting lists sent in in stacks of 10 or so. There has always been "excuses" for not reporting these things. It´s unnecessary, it´s lame, GM´s will not care, lol noob it´s just a game etc etc, but as said more than once, it is NOT ok and with ignoring the report you do really send the message of " come here and do as you wish " I get the feeling that many of them that says these things are the once with the names you are reporting.
  18. There is a naming-policy with a lot of content, so reporting names, especially on RP servers is always a good thing to do. The respect is lacking in many ways towards roleplayers, and when someone with a "leetspeach" name or such comes running, you just report them and let it go. Some names deserve a change on the spot and others might take some time. Still, report if you feel offended or insulted.
  19. Nice suggestion and i can see this being really useful when filled up more and more. Good to see you again bud btw Give my best to the Wolfskins and the Elders! Grihm of Koragg
  20. Full support for chat-bubbles. However, there needs to be a two way option here for people that might not like it and also a system so RP servers wont fill up with OOC or such in every part of the game. Make the chat-bubbles as optional as making another channel in the chat-box. If a few players dislike the option, they can just shut it off. Also, there will be a need for having group chat-bubbles that none other can read just like in a team entering a flashpoint and chatting in group. As it is today on RP servers, there is no flooding the entire room with OOC comments or topics such as last nights football match or what new raid there are in other games. This is astonishing and in a way a frightful thought as to what it can become when a chat-bubble option arrives. But, as in all general behaviors and manners the chat-bubble will be under the same rules as the rest of the game, so you can report as you report today if the need should arise. Also, IF the option of turning bubbles on and off exists, we eliminate the debate on how this can ruin the immersion on RP servers and also there is no need for none-roleplayers to spam the public with none-rp comments. In short Make chat-bubbles optional. If you dislike them, turn them off. Also, a GM should without a doubt be able to disable a players option to use the chat-bubbles if he/she violates RoC or starts spamming credit-sales etc. Let bubbles also exist as private versions. If we can can have private chat-bubbles for guilds and when a team goes to a flashpoint, there will be less clutter in those bigger areas. Make pvp chat-bubbles a separate option entirely. Pvp needs a similar build-up but with an option perhaps to perfect later on that includes a voting-system. Afk in a pvp area is not an option, so with that in mind, people need to be able to clean their teams fast and accurate. *This however is guarded by the chat-logs of course, so if you plan to harass a player, you will be the victim of the act instead since the player will report it.* The list can go on for miles, but we need the bubble option, as just that...an option. Do not force it onto everyone, but make it another marked/unmarked box in the preference menu.
  21. They address anything that violates the Rules of Conduct. If you feel it is silly or unnecessary, you are very much free to do so.
  22. One players name issue is another's wrong-bought item issue. Laugh as much as you will, it is still an issue for many many players and the reports will keep coming. The Rules of Conduct exists for a reason.
  23. http://www.swtor.com/legalnotices/roc Naming Policy When creating a character or guild name for Star Wars: The Old Republic, it is encouraged that you select a name that reflects the theme of the game. The guidelines listed below outline the types of names that you can NOT use, and apply to both player or character names, as well as guild names. You may not use any names that violate the General Rules. This includes the use of names that are hateful, defamatory, racist, ethnically offensive, obscene, vulgar, sexually explicit, or any other language that is offensive in nature. You may not use names that are harassing or defamatory to other players or employees of EA, BioWare or LucasArts, e.g. EASUX, Timsretarded, and Biowaresux. You may not use names of any EA, BioWare, or LucasArts employee or service related to Star Wars: The Old Republic. You may not use names of copyrighted or trademarked characters, materials or products, e.g. Coca-Cola or Dr. Pepper. You may not use names from popular culture or media, e.g. Lady Gaga or George Lucas. You may not use names that are religiously or historically significant, e.g. Jesus, Winston Churchill. You may not use proper names of areas within Star Wars for character names. Guild names, however, MAY use the proper names of specific areas to help promote role-playing and realm pride, e.g. Defenders of Tython or Protectors of Hutta. You may not use proper names of non-player characters within Star Wars: The Old Republic, e.g. Darth Malgus, Satele Shan, Yoda, Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker. You may not use names containing titles or ranks within them, e.g. General Supertrooper, Captain Tim, Darth Timmy, Knight Wakey. You may not use names that refer to drugs or that are drug related. You may not use names that contain an inappropriate phrase, sentence or any fragment of a sentence or Leet speak, e.g. uberhaxer, xxspeederxx, lolface, rofl, Noobwhacker, TimmyF**k, kock, fuk. You may not use misspellings or alternative spellings of names that violate any of the above rules, e.g. Hamsolo, Yooda, DorthVader. You may not use gibberish names when creating character, e.g. ajsdu, rifndsw, qweszs. If you violate any part of the above Naming Policy you will either be assigned a new name, or given the option of changing the name. In addition to this, your account could incur a penalty up to and including account closure.
  24. I understand bud. Thing is, when you report a name, it does not become changed that second. The reports of names are sent to another team that investigate the cause of the report and then take action. Some names are changed on the spot if it is something really offensive as HitlerTwo or Cocainlord etc, and others can even call for you to send another response as to why you feel that name should be changed. All and all, your tickets will be dealt with and the better you explain yourself in the ticket, the faster the developers can work through the pile already sent in. Hang in there.
