  1. No more shortcuts needed tbh. It´s not about boosting everything to max just because you are bored. If the game is to progress, then there has to be time consuming entities. If any, the need to prolong it and not shorten it.
  2. 1: Make a separate Server that only houses Goldspammers. 2: Once an account have been flagged several times for selling / spamming gold, the entire account is moved to that server and then the "player" can be amongst friends. An entire server just for the goldspammers. 3: After one month, the "player" can be given the option to return for a fea of let´s say 15 USD or 2000 cartelpoints or such.
  3. That dissable option sounds very well thought through, and hopefully we can get it as well.
  4. Very good suggestion. It is as you say a problem since one can have a high number of characters, thus the harassment or bothersome act can be let to continue. I am not blocking the pixelated form on my screen, i am blocking the owner of the account. Perhaps a more detailed blocking function. Block Character Block Character and Emails Block Entire Account
  5. Need to grow up and stop paying attention to GC? Sure friend, i can take a joke, but when it goes overhand and/or are just about spreading hate comments about one player or to start arguing if a player is a homosexual or not, then there is nothing you can say to defend an action like that. If you feel this is still ok, then i suggest you read up on the rules we have for harrasments etc for the game. Before F2P when you told people in GC to respect others and / or to perhaps keep that debate in a PM, many times you got a good response. Post F2P that was a subject to change. Now the majority of the times you get profanity, lol, n00b, **** *********, don´t like it then get out etc etc. If BW and EA creates an Official OOC channel for those people to be in, the problem is in a way minimized. When / if people get out of hand, at least it will not be all over GC so no other can use it. It is very very strange to see people more or less ignoring to support such a thing and still keep defending trashtalking that spams GC and saying to others that them leaving is the solution. I have said it before and i say it again. We have the same set of rules in this game, so how about we all play by them without exeptions.
  6. That´s why we need a fix in that system so it will be more effective.
  7. So those that use the gen-chat for what it´s there for should back down so the flamewars and racial/sexual/hateposts etc can go on? That´s not going to happen. There is a problem regarding this and thats no news. Besides, there is nothing fun with people being targeted for hateposting or other. That´s why people are upset on the situation and feel it needs to be fixed. Walking away or turning over the gen-chat for actions as previously mentioned is not the solution.
  8. Then they open up the reason themselfs for an upcomming report / ban. If an official solution is presented and people refuse, they are breaking the rules and by that action they revoke the chance to even defend what they are doing. It´s spamming the general chat on purpose by not using OOC.
  9. We should not have to resort to turning off General chat or such. The people that are filling it with racial/sexual remarks, spams, hateful comments etc are the once that need to be removed and/or dealt with. A simple solution to begin with. Have Bioware create an Official OOC / Off Topic channel. Then all can be in there instead of tearing apart General / Trade etc with random jibberish. Also, since the F2P my patience has dropped almost to dead zero. It has come so far that i am willing to sign a petition if presented with one that removes the chat function at all for F2P players. It has gotten way out of hand.
  10. 1: Chat bubbles with on/off option for those that are not interested. Best of both worlds. This is very much needed and especially on RP servers. 2: An Official OOC Channel ( Out of character ) General channel on RP servers are filled with OOC discussions and anything related to the game is flooded away. Attempts to politely ask people to respect others and continue in PM often just end up in profanity and you suffer any number of hateful comments in return. 3: A more strict follow up on the Naming Policy and the Rules of Conduct in general. This includes to remove the info on RP servers that no special rules apply for naming or chat. We HAVE the Rules of Conduct and they DO apply to all servers. Here is a link to the Rules of Conduct. http://www.swtor.com/legalnotices/rulesofconduct We do have both the Naming Policy and the Harassment as seen in there. Still people tend to claim that it does not exist and that you can be named whatever you want or act however you want. This is not the case and when you are confronted with player with this claim, link them to this. For those that want the location of this original link, look below at the bottom of the screen under the big EA logo.
  11. At some point the player needs to take responsibility for the actions taken and not just as for a fix. There are the forums and there are general chat etc to look up info in first before clicking away. If you are uncertain, ask.
  12. Fett is a Lorename. Cannot use it just as you cannot use Vader, Kenobi etc. People still try though, and succeed a few days now and then, but actual Lorenames should and are being reported as soon as they are noticed.
  13. No information on that as far as i know. Speech bubbles have been missing since day 1 launch. Reasons go from not done, fps drops, not going to happen to it´s on it´s way. Latest official statement i heard ( as i remember it ) was that it was going to be optinal at least so if people did not like it, they could turn it off. Still, it´s long long overdue.
  14. This should have been included at launch. You cannot engage in any form of solid RP, you are missing information in the chat window unless you have several separate parts for each that just ends up in a bigger mess, and whenever you see guilds trying to talk to each other, you just see a big bunch of players standing in a pile at one location like they where frozen solid. There is no life to it. As a roleplayer i feel very left out. Especially when pvp content is placed in before this over and over again. Even on RP servers! I have a hard time seeing a roleplayer coming online at a PVP server and getting RP content fixed before PVP content.
  15. You should be proud of who you are and that you share your situation like this with us all. That shows character and a mature way of life. Do not worry about those "players" that give you a hard time. It´s just empty words from disrespectful individuals that knows no better. One word... Karma. I say keep at it bud, and don´t worry about the spelling or whatever it may be. Also...since you love chatting and socializing like that...try applying for a RP ( Roleplaying ) guild. With your situation in mind ( My girlfriend is Bipolar so i understand how you feel ) i would recommend you play with the idea that your character might be having the same personality as yourself and that reflects in your play-style. A chatty person that likes company and getting to know new people. If your spelling is a big concern, do what others have done. Just keep going. You speak like that, and what´s wrong with it? It´s like dialects in a way. Last but not least.... We got your back bud, and you also got an official response from a representative! In this game you are more than welcome. May the force be with you...and enjoy your gaming!
  16. Thats very true! Just because one is new to RP does not make them any less welcome, but sadly many seem to think that. I have done a general comparison between MMO players that just rolled their first RP server and people on their first Larp, and there tend to be basically the same issues between them. This was less of a problem on the smaller larp´s we hosted with only about 100-300 people, but when the crowds grow, so do the gaps. The big problem with MMO´s are that a lot of people have no safety net, or feel that they don´t. Many are even afraid to ask even the most basic questions in forums because of the fear of getting laughed at.
  17. Part from roleplaying with new players...In Age of Conan we had a few "market days" where we sold gear we did not use for a very low price to low level characters, and also gave away quite a few items for free and we placed these on open ground so people ran into us. Later on we had a War-court to gather guilds and new players to roleplay both trades and plans for battle (pvp areas), but sadly that died out due to a guild that found it more funny to...well lets just say they lost a lot of credibility and friends by their actions. The idea though was superb and so much fun while it lasted. Since we have the option to pvp very easily, i am hoping for guild battle ships etc where you could invite players to tag along and have their input on things even though they are perhaps guild-less or roleplaying for the very first time. As long as people don´t see it as learning rather than experiencing.
  18. In a few games i have had either my alt or main taking a break from the game and placed my self in the starting areas to interact with the new players. Many times there are experienced players doing alts and they are just ignoring you, but there are many that actually appreciate the help and the immersion given by doing this. In one game, we had our guild interact with new players pretty often to invite them in a roleplaying storyline to both show them we where inviting for the guild, and also to send them on some "quests" or missions. Many felt "special" by this and we made many good friends. Even though many did not join the guild, you still got a few /tells with thanks for explaining some things or by helping people understand what basic RP was.
  19. There is no date, but they are working on it and their intention is to get it in the game when it´s done and working. This is what you get, and it´s as good as it gets for now. If you keep posting threads about it over and over, you will only get them closed. This information is good information, so now we wait. It´s as simple as that.
  20. And as soon as the function of character transfer is ready, the date will be posted.
  21. So by that you mean that he is lying? They already made an official statement, but you want more even before they are done working? Your other post was locked and you where given information by both links and a CS representative. If you feel you will not wait, that is up to you, but more and new threads/posts on the issue will do you no good. Please respect what they have said and just wait.
  22. No bigger difference than kos list or keeping names on a note-pad really. Just another helpful tool. In any case, chat-bubbles will come later on, and they will be optional. This i feel will really boost the roleplaying spirits and also be a lot more useful. Will no doubt bring in a lot more people that nowadays choose not to RP because of the lack of them.
  23. As stated by Daniel Erickson, they will announce the dates when they are fixed and solid. To post any other assumptions will only increase questioning, and since they have not posted any official updates on it, a fixed date is not yet set.
  24. Anyone that has been hosting or participating in any form of bigger LARP events have seen these "win win" players IRL and also had a chance to talk to them face to face. An etiquette for them is not to interesting and neither is consequences. To just ignore them feels like a lazy-mans option. Now and then you hear about the kill on sight list for pvp. I would like to see an option like that for roleplayers to use on players you want to flag. When your guild encounter these players they have a different color on their names or a symbol beside the name. When inspecting that player, you could have the person that flagged him/her add information as to why this player was flagged to begin with.
  25. Basically just go slow in the beginning. Pick a good name and not something that is to be "funny" Pick a class you find interesting and start tweaking it to fit your story idea and you will get a lot of ideas to roleplay on.. If you encounter the "god-mode" people that uses /tell orders to tell you that you are stabbed and wounded etc, just ignore them instead of getting in an argument with them. Part from that...just walk around in crowded areas where people roleplay in the chat-box and read up on how the "social codes" are. Chat-bubbles will come later on and that will boost RP a whole lot. Last but not least....i find it best to act your level so to say. A lvl 50 vs a lvl 5....well you see the point even though it´s not pvp.
