  1. I'm fully aware that I could simply move some discussions to a ship, flashpoint, ops chat, use mail or combinations of them to pull off that 'private' conversation. It's the principal. What many people don't consider is the actual setting. If I'm stood in the middle of an Imperial building - that has machinery inside, perhaps other people talking, droids walking around.. Then someone pressed up against the wall outside (taking advantage of the large /say range) isn't going to be able to hear a thing. That's the first thing. For me. Roleplay is all about the people around you, not you - yourself. I have no problem at all for someone to pull me up over something they'd heard ICly. I do however see it as a little .. insulting perhaps, to be be in an "empty" room with someone hid in stealth either just outside, or just inside. That to me doesn't seem like good roleplay. Like someone earlier said, you're essentially power emoting. Forcing that situation on the characters there by saying "I am here, and I'm going to use this information." At least how I feel.
  2. Hello. Just recently I've been noticing this more and more. Its's players quite literally just sitting in stealth next to you listening to the conversation. Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind someone who's curious, perhaps wants to learn a bit about RP without interrupting, but sadly I haven't experienced that. For the most part it's been players who sit there without a word for around half hour, only to use the information later in their RP - Am I the only one who disagrees with this? I know full well that we're in a universe that allows people to have some kind of cloaking device in some form, without being too far fetched. Has anyone else experienced this? There must be other members of the RP community that discredit this kind of approach.
  3. Well.. not exactly. What happens when we want to give you milk and cookies and can't find where you live? In all seriousness - This is simply a tool for the community and a reason for us to be approached. We've already gathered IC intel on quite a few individuals and the groups we've done RP with so far. Its like our version of the official Imperial Intel database. The applications can be far more than just 'bounty hunting', many more infact! [Edit]:: Just as a little sidenote. This project is in full swing.. I'll find out all your secrets even if you don't want me to! I'll just have to do much more RP and digging!
  4. Grihm!! Always good to bump into old friends. Drop me a line Also to the community - If there are any questions regarding the usage of these templates and information. Do poke me.
  5. Greetings! Last night, a brilliant suggestion came from one of my members. Effectively my guild will be keeping tabs on all the people and organisations we meet on our travels. Keeping a rather extensive database within our forums. It's all from rumors and hearsay's - and information that we pick up ICly along our travels. If not just for us, being able to use the information - perhaps one day it'll be useful to the community itself! The current templates we are using are: ^ This for singular individuals. ^ This for the different guilds. There's already a few up on our forums - You can get involved should you wish, by replying with the templates below and I'll add them to our database. This information will then be used later down the line - sold off to certain individuals, used to track down and find people - and of course, gives us a good reason to be approached by the community ICly. Members of both the Empire and Republic on Lord Calypho are more than welcome, infact I urge you, to take part.
  6. Are there plans to, if so how far off are we, from seeing more social items in game?
  7. Adding in chat bubbles at this stage is a bigger job than some people seem to realize. It's not something you can cook up over night. Yes, perhaps people will chime in and say it should have been there to begin with.. But it is what it is. Personally I don't want chat bubbles. I at least want the option to turn them off in the social preferences. With a room packed full of people, you're not going to be able to see a thing.. It'll make it look way too cartoony for me also. If someone types out a large sentence, chances are - you're still going to need to look at the chat box to read it all anyhow. I think a reduction of the /say range would solve the problem. The emote range seems fine. You'd be able to see someone sit down from a distance, but not what they're saying to their friend.
  8. In terms of sheer size, both overall player base and that of the RP community. Lord Calypho (which is the server I'm on.) is very big. I'm constantly bumping into roleplayers, be in in the hubs or just out in the open questing. I know that many, many, many roleplayers stay away from the RP-PvP servers for fear of being griefed, ganked, perhaps they believe that the community or server as a whole is less mature. But that simply isn't the case. Because of the way the game planets are set up, you won't often bump into a member of the opposing faction. Unless of course you seek out the PvP contested planets. But I'd still stay here even if the RP community was smaller. Simply because if I see a Jedi, Trooper ect walking around? I want to have the privilege to attack that person. It doesn't make sense to me having a faction system and no PvP. So in my oppinion, roll on a PvP server - You'll curse when you see someone run by and you're stood there with your hands in your pockets.
  9. Hello there! Could you please add the following link to the "other links" section for [Clan Koragg] It's our thread in the guild hall section of these forums: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=160220 Many thanks
  10. I won't go into reams of text here. I'll just say this - I support the option to have chat bubbles, so long as you give me the option to turn it off again.
  11. Hrisskar.. ? Coincidence, or? If your confused at this point. I apologize. Someone named 'Hrisskar' actually first started Clan Koragg in Age of Conan. I've been leading it for the last few years now. Anyhow! Yes, fellow RPers - Make yourselves known!
  12. Hello there. I'll give you a quick snippet about myself. My name, at least ingame, is Kathal. I'm in the process of bringing my guild [Clan Koragg] here from our old home, in Age of Conan. We've recently turned into a gaming community and we're now looking to establish ourselves in StarWars. By here, I should also mention at this point, on the Lord Calypho server. We're yet to make a thread for ourselves on the guild hall, I'll be working on that later on. What I'm interested in right now, is meeting fellow RP'ers, guild leaders and officers to establish connections on the server. People who are willing to make contact to set up a few things down the line. Be it from plots or simple gatherings. Many thanks.
