  1. Hmm they had to close this post at 555 pages. (edit : wait what, same gender relationships:confused:) Conclusion; Instead of expanding/improving the PVP gameplay Bioware decided to expand the PVP forum.
  2. ... there was a solo ranked que that would give arenas and 8 vs 8 objective warzones.. ( like the normal que now but without groups (more then 1 player) beeing able to que for.) EDIT: Lets take it up a notch, and lets say that we scratch the word "ranked" in the above sentence, make it so that the reward are only normal commendations and add instead a ranked que where you can que for, with up to 8 people (or keep it at queeing with 2, not 3 but max 4 players in order to not mess up the overall of 8 players on each side) that gives arenas and 8 vs 8 objective warzones. 8 man groups could have their own arena at any given time where they are pitted against eachother in an arena or both fight another arena team based on the queeing opposition. So, we would be left with only 2 ques. Discuss.
  3. Today I was in a pre-made in civil war, we had 2 turrets (snow and mid) and just told the guard to go and have fun by going grass. And someone replied, noooo why would you do that, ... (insert random flame and rage here). The enemy capped snow and the person said ; "See I told ya !!!" 5 seconds later grass was taken We continued doing this, every time the enemy was capable of capping one of our turrets and had an easy win. Nobody wants to "toilet guard" right ?
  4. Jadescythe sums it all up really nicely how the current situation is (see his big post on the previous page) , thx for that The PVP in this game, I like it alot. You got all the different classes and imo, in the objective based warzones each class currently has at least one spec where it can shine in. However, the current matchmaking system and not having cross servers won't give an increase in population imho. I am really dissapointed that the development team fails to communicate clearly about the PVP part of the game. Did they give up on it ? I hadn't expected this from Bioware wich is one of the best game making companies. Anyway I wasted too much time here, time to PVP
  5. Djeezes how many people actually read the entire post ... Is reading that hard
  6. Agreed, but since cross server aint coming as someone said somewhere. Why not a better matchmaking system and solo que only ? Because you like to play with friends, I get that. May I ask you what your win rating is in your games with a pre-made ? And are they like challenging games or you destroy people ?
  7. In sports you have leagues, to avoid too much of destroying. You talk in alot of fancy words, but you keep avoiding the problem why f.e. ranked que is dead on most servers and admitting that the current matchmaking system has a highly probably chance to deliver more unbalanced games then not. Like you said, destroying is what currently happens mostly. I like to destroy people but too much of it gets boring pretty quickly, I don't like getting destroyed BUT most of all I like a challenging game that pushes me to my limits and that's what PVP is about for me.
  8. Besides my main/ first toon I have leveled my other toons in PVP mostly + class quests because all the side quests are just a repetitious part of the game where I have no interest in. I don't want P2W, sorry for the title again, I changed the starting post.
  9. You are only proving a point if, it is right what you say, that PVE gear shouldn't be able to be used in PVP in terms of balance (not competitivity) in normal warzones. IF you look at it from a PVP only player viewpoint. (Imagine augmenting all your toons without crafting, or doing any PVE at all) + the assumption that PVP should not be affected by needing to do stuff outside of PVP in order to compete (talking about ranked warzones and competition) in it.
  10. If the S set varies, it is not cheating. It is a fair advantage. N set: Number of GOOD players per team Pre-mades is basicly stacking players together. In the current matchmaking system you have a certain randomness, I already told that is why alot of players rather play in pre-mades. You are certain you will have a few roles in your team (unless you are just messsing with a 4 man concealment team because you can ). Another team in normal warzones without a pre-made is more random, wich gives a higher chance of having good/new players in their team. For the sake of more "balanced" (not talking about competitivity here) warzones why not only provide a solo que wich places good and bad players evenly over two teams ? Wouldn't that be more challenging then what we have now with the current que/matchmaking system ? For those that actually mean it that they want to play competitive those, can always play ranked right ? Why do you think ranked died ? People don't like to loose, getting in a pre-made gives a higher chance of winning and I don't see this as a fair advantage. People that say that normal warzones in swtor are competitive on this day, those are the hyprocrits. But I get the whole, "playing with friends" excuse After all, its impossible to play with friends / making new friends if you solo que with the current population in PVP.
  11. I agree with your high level mambo jambo talk. The point is you are only talking about competitivity, wich is only applicable in full on ranked warzones, wich are dead on most servers Now most people here are talking about normal warzones (read topic title), where competitive players, good players, bad players and casuals come together to enjoy themselves, to make those more balanced you need a better matchmaking system, simple as that. If you support the current matchmaking system you are basicly saying that you like to pugstomp without the least possible challenge. Pre-mades in normal warzones can be seen as stacking the best players together in one team, I see myself as one of the above averaged players on my server and have no problem admitting this. I find it entertaining to see people again and again putting other people in a box and label them as "bads" or "non-premaders" if they say that the current system doesn't work. The discussion needs to be taken over the matchmaking system since the discussion about why people are against pre-mades and why not is already more then clear.
  12. I am not a pre-made hater, I like playing in a pre-made. Still, I see why the so called "pugs" or "bads" are against it. A great deal of pre-maders can't work together with pugs, they don't want to talk with them because they are bad etc etc. I don't have any problem playing with people that aren't as skilled as some of the leeters on this forum are. On the contrary I take pleasure in defeating pre-mades with a pug team simply by communicating in the chat during warzones wich proves your point about "pre-maders" (if you really want to put them in a box ... ) beeing "skilled" irrelevant. Again, try thinking outside of the box. The shortmindedness and egotistical views of people are unbelievable on these forums.
  13. I am tired of pugs who play bad, I admit that. I just want a matchmaking system that divides the bad pugs and the good players evenly over 2 teams. Does that make me a hypocrit ? If you want analytical reasoning, I give you something. Besides a very few servers (of those that are still remaining) NO ranked pops happen, 8vs8 ranked is thrown in the dumpster.
  14. Dude seriously, I haven't encountered anyone cheating in this game for the 2 years that I am playing, or at least I haven't been aware of anyone having an unfair advantage over me based on the gameplay. (not taking matchmaking and pre-mades in consideration). So stop trolling and just say what you want to say or stop posting random nonsense.
  15. You are only talking about better players and placing the balance there. I am talking about a matchmaking system that balances roles as even as possible on the first place AND, good and bad players in an evenly way possible to create a more challenging environment. Any pre-mader, that is actually a good player has no problem queeing solo now and then, the only reason most players go in a pre-made is because the current matchmaking system is too random and doesn't give em a 90 procent winning chance. I admit if I play 5 games solo and I lost them all I am just inviting friends in a group because I KNOW I will win. If you don't understand my point now I give up. Try stepping out of the prototype shortminded "leet" player mindset for a minute, and try thinking why the population in this game is so low / you are getting so few ranked pops on alot of servers.
  16. Putting a fire was what I wanted at first , I changed the starting post, hope it clears up how I actually think about it.
  17. OH **** why did I pick this title. I DO NOT WANT TO PAY FOR IT (just to get that misunderstanding out of the way), I despise the cc market. I just want to get rid of augments or make pvp more worthwile in terms of credits so I do not have to PVE or craft in order to be able to augment my gear.
  18. Yes someone will always be better, but that still doesn't make any sense that you have warzones where one team has 3 healers and a tank while the other has 1 healer and 7 dps. IF population ofcourse is the only argument why its not able to change the current matchmaking, the PVP is already dead / or will stay like it is now wich is nothing big, servers with no ranked que etc, unless changes come up. (I am in the group that will keep playing, but I am pretty sure a majority will not) You are missing the point here, you just blabbling about players that are better and that's the way it is. A matchmaking system would have to sort player firstly on role and then on beeing good or better based on wins/losses. How do you make bads better by giving them more opportunity to be in more balanced games ? Premading is easy win vs a 8 man pug team. If you are a good player with any sense of morale you will not deny this.
  19. The definition "catering to bads" is a view of a shortminded leet player. Improving the matchmaking system makes the PVP more fun and competitive for all players involved. Besides that, the real world aint exactly perfect is it ? Were talking about a game here wich is alot easier to improve then improving the world.
  20. That might be because you are an exceptional good player wich makes 10 procent of the player base.(otherwise you wouldn't be so much top in the stats right ?) Your are just a bit shortminded and only think about your own situation. The other 90 procents aren't like you, so they will stop playing earlier simply because of the system PVP has atm. (You are the one calling me a "not so smart person" right ? ) The system as it is now is bad for the future of the PVP in this game, I think everyone who thinks a little bit logically agrees with that. With a better matchmaking system and cross server PVP could shine alot more, but then again more replies, still no response from a developer ...
  21. Even tough I agree with you on the part of pre-mades hunting PUGS, you also point out that he should quit the game because he gives his opinion (wich I do not agree with), think you are the one with an attitude problem
  22. So this entire discussion is pointless, everyone knows that matchmaking / lack of cross server is the real problem, even Bioware. They just don't seem to be able to do anything about it or they would have done it already. Or they just don't care. 6,443 replies 230,073 views (even tough half of the people posting here don' have a clue what they are talking about if I may be so bold) Still no developer response, topic has 4 stars other topics have none. Says enough doesn't it ?
  23. quoted from another topic; Awesome idea for concealment operatives here. Then again, the real good ones will make healers cry so hard. Since they do that already imo.
