  1. I don't think killing off a DPS companion or a Tank companion would be too much of an issue, you do, after all, get two of them. I think the biggest issue would be killing your healer companion because the droid sucks. Not in terms of gear or healing, he does a pretty good job of it, but he can't equip a weapon, so in the end he'll run in and melee everything, die because he can't get out of the AoE, and then you are stuck with a dead healer. I'd say give us a proper second healer and make the droid a crew skill runner instead of an actual companion. Unless they changed it so that the droid can finally be modified for attack abilities in the last few patches. My monitor died and I'm waiting on a new one, so I haven't been able to play for about two months.
  2. I think it's either the Columi or Tionese weapon that has a curved hilt. It's called Soresu's Razor.
  3. I hate to say it, but I don't think they're going to be making another history log. I get the feeling that they planned for the histories and comics to be a filler period while the game was in development and that they would end just before the game was going to be released, but then it was rushed to be out early and then they just stopped with the other stuff. It sucks, but that's just what it feels like.
  4. Not enough flames. Give me some.
  5. Lumiya was known as Dark Lady, but I don't think she ever took the title of Darth. Zannah and Cognus were both females and they took the title of Darth. Then there was Traya/Kreia who took the title. Darth is gender neutral, kind of like being a Jedi Master. There are plenty of women Jedi Masters that don't refer to themselves as Mistress when that would be the "P.C." term.
  6. Good God the typos and "lawl" speak. It hurts my brain. Ugh ... *shivers*
  7. Don't panic! It'll all be alright! Them Hillbilly Jedi won't get you! I promise!
  8. But the flying Jawa says that overalls are the new fashion. Relevance?
  9. This. Though I do think it would be cool to have a world wide chat. Rift did this with their level range chat, so from 10-29 you could talk all across the world to people in your level group. Perhaps something like this could be done instead of Fleet.
  10. As someone else pointed out, while this is a cool idea, no one here wants to go through the same class story a third time. It gets old after a while, and it starts to just get really tedious. The level grind on the planet stories is already annoying enough, since those quests never change, and I'm going through my second Warrior right now, but it's just the same story again and again. I would much rather have new classes. Another issue is that all the AC's are mirrors of each other, Mercenary/Commando are basically the same class just with different ability names. And your idea changes up the mirror, which means that they'd have to develop new abilities to make those AC's different, which I doubt they'd do. So Squad Leader/Ranger would have to mirror one another, and so would Scout/Fixer. Now, that's not to say I don't approve of the idea, I do, I would love to see a bit more variety in the Advanced Class options, the game could use a bit more diversity. Wandering around the Imperial fleet and seeing nothing but the Jugg shield over everyone's head is getting annoying.
  11. Eh, it's more like the Commando's and Vanguard's charged in close to cancel out Leap so that the Jugg's couldn't build up any shockwave stacks. Leap's only good at a 10 meter range, any closer and it's not usable. Plus they were all bunched up on the hills without any real room to spread out. So one well placed Smash would have wiped out the entire group. So really, jumping down was a smart idea, but they should have left some of their healers up on the ridge and just not lost LOS.
  12. Theoretically it is possible, there are variants of every form depending on type of weapon you are using. There is a dual bladed variant of Makashi, which is used by Asajj Ventress, and Darth Zannah used a double-bladed variant of Soresu. So, theoretically, it would be possible for there to be a dual saber Shien/Djem So. Would it be practical? No.
  13. The reason ranged enemies will chew through your health more then melee enemies is because if they don't start out with a blade as their focus, they won't use any of their abilities, just an auto-attack. The best way to counteract ranged enemies is to charge in, hit them a few times to get agro, and see if they pull out a vibroblade. If they do that, you will be golden. They'll stop using any of their abilities on you and just auto-attack you, which does little to no damage at all. As for your Juggernaut, I honestly think the big difference is in armor. Mara's wear medium armor where Jugg's wear heavy armor, so the damage reduction is a bit higher. I'm currently leveling a Jugg right now, I go Vengeance when questing and Immortal when I'm running a dungeon, just DPS in tank gear and I tear through enemies like my Mara did. But to suggest something helpful for your Mara, what I did was level to 50 with Jaesa, only not using her at the last two bosses of the story quest (I switched her for Quinn because I needed the healing). My strategy with her was to let Jaesa charge the silver/gold enemies and build up some agro and deal some damage while I took out the weak/standard enemies and then switched to the one my companion was attacking. You'll end up doing more DPS then your companion, so it's not too hard to pull the mob off of them. When you're killing the standard enemies, your Fury should already build up to full, or at least be close, so getting it up to 30 won't be too difficult and you pop berserk right away to heal your companion and yourself. Cloak of Pain when you're at about 50% health, if you reach it, and just keep beating them down. Saber Ward when your Cloak of Pain is on CD, then Obfuscate. Use your Heroic Moment to refresh your Saber Ward, and Berserk while your Heroic Moment ticks. And if you have to, Saber Ward again.
  14. First time I leveled my Marauder I used Vette until I got Jaesa, and then Jaesa to 50. Didn't have too many issues aside from downtime between fights in the 43-50 level range. I had a bit of trouble near the end of my class story using only Jaesa, and I really only had to stop using her during the final phase against Baras, but it was doable up until that point.
  15. True, but Camo's root remover is also a talented ability, so if you don't spec into it you still get the full effect. So if you're not Carnage then you don't get the talent, and personally I don't like Carnage for pvp so I play Annihilation. You could use predation, but that would be kind of a waste of Fury/Focus when your Bloodthirst and Beserk would be a better choice. Choke could work, but that is also interruptable and if the Sage/Sorc is smart, they can use Stun or Lift and then back up a couple of steps, casting Slow while they move since it's an instant cast, this gives time for them to get off a couple of casts. I have yet to see a Sage/Sorc without the KB root since it's easier to get then the bubble stun. At least in Jedi Covenant it seems I run into more KB roots then I do bubble stuns. There's also the slow that Affliction can apply onto a target if a Sorc/Sage healer specs into it, and I don't see a reason why you wouldn't for pvp. Also, looking at TORhead now and the specs, Madness Sorc/Sage's get plenty of stuns and slows. It honestly is easy if you are a good Sage/Sorc and know what you are doing and can pull off everything in time. You may sacrifice certain abilities to get others if you play around with it, but really it just depends on how you move.
  16. Speaking as someone who plays a Marauder in pvp, this is easily countered. Sorc/Sage's get a knockback, a root to go along with that knockback, and a slow. Force Charge is on a 15s cooldown (I think, could be wrong since I don't have the game up) so really to get a Warrior/Knight who isn't specced into lolderpsmash out of your face would go something like this. Overload/Consular Knockback(Can't remember the name) > Slow > Cast. Or Knockback > Stun > Slow > Cast. Like I said, if they aren't lolderpsmash then they can't use a second charge, and even that charge doesn't have as long of a range as Charge. I'm not sure about Merc/Commando's, but their armor and endurance talent buffs give them some decent survivability, and in my experience they also get some pretty decent defensive cooldowns that help them take less damage. The only issue that a Commando/Merc would have if is the attacking Warrior/Knight is on top of their interrupts. But that's just my 2 cents.
  17. Something I find kind of funny is that for people wanting player generated content, everyone seems up in arms about not having a dev generated event. Why can't we come together on the fleet for the 1year anniversary and as a community do something, say, as a community to celebrate the anniversary? We could schedule something over the forums as a community to do and generate our own content. But hey, that's just me, talking crazy. Back to your arguments.
  18. I'm not going to come back with "I think it should be for free at level 1" since I don't agree with giving everything away for free. I'm against the unlocking Legacy at level 10, I still believe it was fine after finishing chapter 1. What I was suggesting was that our droid gets chosen bonus once we unlock him and get our crafting skill. Which, for just about everyone, is once you get your ship at around level 15-17. I didn't know about the 1m unlock selling bonuses to the droid's crafting ability, otherwise I wouldn't have put it as a suggestion. Though, now that I do, it can be rolled into my Legacy idea.
  19. Story Honestly, for me the story ends a bit too fast. Chapter 3 shouldn't be the ending that we get. For Sith players, the ending is gaining a seat on the Dark Council I feel like Corellia was a huge laugh in the face of everyone. I honestly think there should have been two 50 planets, one for Republic and one for the Empire, each one could have the same ending/story. Say you keep the Empire side of Corellia the same, but the Republic 50 planet would have a different story with a similar ending, one where you have to assault an Imperial world and reclaim it for the Republic as a retaliation against the Empire for their taking of Corellia. I'm honestly tired of the back and forth on planets. Taris works fine for me, since it actually has a sort of chronology, but the Corellian stories just feel rushed. I would love to see an actual war effort between the factions outside of Warzones. Something that actually makes the story engaging. But I'm also one of the people that likes endgame content such as raids and flashpoints. So why not make Chapter 4 not only single story based, but also flashpoint/operation based as well? Say at the end of Chapter 3 as a Sith Warrior. ]You've just killed Baras and secured your position as Emperor's Wrath, but you are not on the Dark Council yet. Instead, the Council acknowledges your power, grants you the Darth title, but then the Emperor decides to call upon his Wrath to seek vengeance against the Jedi for weakening him, sending you out on strike missions across the galaxy to hit the Jedi's military might and even weaken their infrastructure, priming the Sith for an assault on Tython itself. Now with that said, Chapter 4 would, in my mind, focus heavily on the war effort between the Republic and the Empire, with the grand finale being Malgus' secession from the Empire, postponing the Battle of Ilum and False Emperor FP's until a much later date. There wouldn't be a need for more levels, but rather a focus on Story content at level 50 to keep the player engaged. With Chapter 4 focusing on the war, this also offers an opportunity to introduce more story based FP's that divide the factions, allowing both Republic and Empire unique Flashpoints and Operations. Imagine a Flashpoint for the Republic side that had you assaulting an Imperial base and claiming it for the Republic. And then later, an Operation would be focused around this Flashpoint, where you would be assaulting an Imperial fleet construction site and having to weaken it. Now this isn't to say that the Flashpoints and Operations would be a required class story thing, that wouldn't make sense for the way that the game is designed. It would be more like an overarching story that connected one group play through to another. Something akin to Battle of Ilum leading up into False Emperor, only this time it would be a Flashpoint leading up into an operation. I would like to see more Flashpoint stories like that, something other then "Fight through trash to a boss, then fight through more trash to one alignment chooser, then fight through more trash to the last few bosses." Legacy Looking through the "Species" and "Other" tabs on the Legacy page, it hit me that what could make Legacy actually enjoyable to try and get is a talent point system for the Legacy tree. Now I'm not talking outright abilities that go across the characters in your account, I mean something along the lines of working with what we already have. That being said, here is my idea: Every 10 Legacy levels, we are given ONE spendable point to use in either the Other or the Species section of the Legacy page. This one point would give us a free unlock to whichever one thing we choose. For example, at Legacy level 10, you are given one point to spend on your Legacy selection. From here, you go into your Legacy page and look through Other and Species and can pick one thing to unlock from either tree without paying credits or cartel coins. Say at Legacy 10 you want to unlock the Sith Pureblood race, or maybe get a social unlock without going through social runs or even farming the points. You get one point to spend on either choice. So now you unlock the Pureblood for free and that 1 free unlock is gone, you can't spend it anymore, you can't refund it. It's spent, you are done. This would make choosing what you want to unlock a thought out process. "Do I want the Valor abilities, or do I want to unlock the Rattataki?" And since it is every 10 levels (10/20/30/40/50), you get a limited amount of points, still making it an option to spend cartel coins/credits on whatever you missed with your Legacy unlock without giving a player the option to just breeze through everything for free. Crafting At the moment, the droid we get to start with has no crafting benefit. Where our other companions, such as Quinn and Vette get bonuses to Treasure Hunting and Diplomacy, the droid is left blank. It's a little frustrating honestly, since of all the characters we get as companions, he is the only one without any bonuses. I don't know about HK since I haven't actually done the quest to get him yet. It sucks knowing that when I send him on an archaeology mission it's not anywhere near as effective as sending Jaesa, who gets a bonus to archaeology. So the proposition I am making is this: Allow our starter droid to be freely customizable to our crew skills. It may be difficult to implement, but the solution goes something like this. When we gain our first crew skill set, say you go for Armstech and Scavenging, you are given the option to give your droid a +5-10 bonus to efficiency/crit for either the crafting or the gathering profession that you selected. This would be a permanent selection, so you would have to choose which one you would want to pick. This way you can round out your crafting more easily, since certain classes seem to be meant to do certain professions. I've noticed that my Inquisitor companions all seem to be geared more towards Synthweaving/Artificing and my Warrior companions are mostly geared to Armstech/Biochem. This would make crafting a bit easier to get to 400, especially if you don't pick the "right" crew skill to pick up for your class. It would also make it more efficient since your droid is really the first companion you get that can sit around on the ship and craft your stuff until you start getting more companions. And for some classes, it can be even more frustrating since you are stuck with your active companion for quite a while. I know Inquisitors don't get anyone but Khem until Tatooine, and Consular's are stuck with Qyzen until Nar Shaddaa. Titles Something that I would love to see are a change to the titles in the game. Something that I loved about Rift was the way it handled Prefix and Suffix titles. For example, my mage was Tidelord Eserwe, Sheriff of Rockridge. This is something I would love to see in TOR as well. Instead of just Darth X, I'd love to see Darth X, The Merciless. It would make the titles actually fun to have. Being stuck with just one title is not only limited, especially when there are so many titles that are awesome to see. Anyway, that's it. Thoughts, suggestions, ideas, comments, flames?
  20. The thing about the "Droids are very dumb" solution is that we don't actually see a lack of intelligence from then at the very beginning. In TPM (*shivers*) the droids actually seem to have some limited form of intelligence. Yes there was that whole scene in the hangar when Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan save the Queen's guard before grabbing the ship, but that felt more like comic relief then anything. Over the course of the next two movies the droids were severely dumbed down. Even their voices shifted to something a bit more child friendly. Anyone remember Republic Commando SBD's? They had, what I think was, a really cool, deep, heavily modulated voice that fit with the overall theme of "These droids are bad *** and really difficult to kill". And then we get the stupid "That nothin'" SBD's in Episode 3.
