  1. I've been subbed since a few weeks after release. I do not have a level 50. I'm disappointed that BW made this decision based on some completely arbitrary metric. I wonder why they seem to value that customer more than they value me. It isn't enough for me to quit, but I am still disappointed.
  2. What they need to do is cut it out with the instancing everything
  3. No, they won't and your last paragraph is all sorts of wrong. There is plenty of room to tell good stories and expand in an mmo. why do you think there hasn't been a Warcraft 4? They've been telling that story through WoW.
  4. could take cover off the global cooldown that would help a bit i think.
  5. yeah it is an annoyance, but a minor one. It is kind of goofy that i can see the offline status of guildmates, but can't add them to my friends list.
  6. this isn't new, and I would argue the implementation in ToR is actually worse than in other games. an appearance tab would be much better.
  7. They may not know what the forum term is for it, but they know about it.I've seen more than enough people complain about it, including members in my own guild. To them its just abilities not working correctly when they want them to work. You may like TOR better than you did Rift, but and thats fine, I didn't either, I only last about 2 months .The Rift launch was an objectively better launch than the ToR launch from a technical standpoint.
  8. You should know that getting a full refund on software is damn near impossible, no matter who or where you bought it from. It just doesn't happen. If you hate the game that badly just cut your losses and move on. If only i could get a refund on all of the games I bought I wasn't satisfied with.
  9. you mean a WHOLE extra minute? oh dear god this is reprehensible. we should not stand for this sort of tomfoolery! even a single second wasted is too much! just port me to the exact location on the planet for that matter!. It can take me, on average upward for 90 seconds to run to specific quest objective! My time is so much more valuable then this!
  10. It takes what, 5 minutes or less to get pretty much anywhere in the galaxy? that is not a big deal. travel is pretty easy in Star Wars. You can also get a fleet pass that has an hour cooldown if that isn't quick enough for you. it does not really need to be any easier.
  11. I enjoy the stories and questing more on the empire side. I have a level 30 jedi Sage. and a level 16 Sniper. The imperial agent storyline is really cool as well. the Sage story is kind of meh.
  12. Every MMO has had their own share of issues at launch, and after patches, some more glaring than others. Just because other games have had issues does not mean this game deserves a pass for them, any more than the other games did for having the same issues. It is a ridiculous argument to make. If BW breaks something, then the community needs to call attention to it or it may never be addressed. You could make an argument against all the melodrama if you want, but we should never, ever give a company a pass on screwing up their game.
  13. There is no validity in any of the arguments because the argument is simply "i don't want to have to re-level in order to play a different class.". That is all it will ever be. it is sheer laziness. The problem is they are trying to associate the advanced class as just another specialization when that is not the case. being able to switch your advanced class would be akin to switching a warrior to a mage in any other MMO.
  14. WoW did not dumb down their dungeons because of LFD. they started doing that well before it was ever implemented. I remember quite clearly when cataclysm launched the dungeons and their heroic modes were quite challenging. I stopped playing WoW a few months after cata released and I am sure there have been nerfs to them since, but your idea that this is somehow linked to the dungeon finder is sketchy at best. LotRo LFD was just implemented and to the best of my knowledge no changes were made to the dungeons. Rift I'm not so sure .I quit playing it within a few months because I didn't really like the game that much. I'm sure you are reaching just as far with with it as you are with your other "examples". First of all when I said a "few" hours a day, I meant three hours or less. Second, if I understand you correctly, I have to spend months or possibly years meeting people before I am able to run flash points with any degree of regularity ,and you somehow find absolutely nothing wrong with this? I'm not new to MMOs. I get the social aspect of th e game. it is why I play them afterall, but this is the biggest crock of **** I've read on this forum .
  15. AC switching will not and should not ever happen. Advanced classes are just that, classes. However, I am all for dual-specs, but please expand upon how dual specialization would ruin the game.
  16. This one thing getting fixed would make me so very happy. -Sharding: I've heard that sharding is something they plan on doing away with in the future. supposedly it was just in place to ease overcrowding during launch. I have no idea if this is true as it was just something said in a random forum post, but I hope it is. -Too much phasing: PI think the sharding is fine personally. the planets and areas are big enough that the phasing doesn't really feel like its impeding on the game to me. Low server caps: I agree that the caps should be raised if technically possible. Overly large planets: I like that the planets are big. they are planets after all. they should feel big. Tattooine "feels" like a massive desert planet. I think that is one thing BW got right. the planets and their respective areas feel massive. I think when/if they do away with sharding it will help with the expanses of nothingness feeling. 3) Endgame: not even close to endgame yet since i didn't start playing at launch(only a few weeks in) but I am an endgame type of player. I don't really do alts so endgame is a make or break for me. I hope they get on this quickly.
  17. name 2 who did first. I haven't run a flash point since level 10. I only get a few hours of playtime a day and i will not spend that time spamming LFG and general for the possibility of a group. It doesn't help that I do most of my playing early in the morning either which makes it pretty much impossible.
  18. I actually did have an issue with the launcher crushing in the last public beta. I tried uninstalling and redownloading defrag ran every AV or malware program I had. what fixed it was copying the install from a pc it was working on and has been fine since.
  19. There are issue and bugs with the game the constant own time and patches should make that readily apparent. Bugs and glitches by nature don't happen to everyone so your statement that because you never run into bugs does not mean they do not exist For example just yesterday I got stuck in some scenery, my hearth was down so I tried the /unstuck command. it ported me past a map boundary and was stuck even worse than before. tried it again after the cooldown and it stuck me in the same spot..off the map. I had to wait until my hearth was back to get out of it which was a half hour of waiting since i just used it. This is just one example. I also know that people lie which is why I do not believe every story about getting banned o r whatever I see. those links where people were outed are hilarious.
  20. Thats not quick enough. I enjoy healing on my sage, but I also enjoy doing DPS having that DPS for solo questing.I like switching between the too specs. I really do not understand how people can really defend the position of not having dual speccing added to the game. It will have no negative impact on the game at all and will make quality of life in the game so much better. It will be easier to find tanks and healers, there will be more incentive for those to tank and heal for those that have the classes capable of doing so, which makes for quicker group forming
  21. I think the bigger issue is they do not stagger their maintenance so that it occurs during off peak hours for the European crowd. My guess is that this will happen eventually, but for whatever reason they want to do it all at the same time now. It is a valid criticism though since the majority of MMOs do stagger maintenance times
  22. Rift's Launch was much smoother. no game breaking bugs, had finished end game content, plenty of servers so queues weren't a big issue. Hell even DC Universe wasn't as big as a cluster **** as this. This launch was pretty bad, but then again it seems Rift has been the exception that proves the rule with MMOs
  23. server maintenance doesn't always necessitate a client update. but according to the sticky it seems they are going to start staggering the maintenance times...eventually
