  1. The truth is, infiltration is not very dynamic. The spec is fun but it does have a boring routine. You get distracted by the big crits but someone who plays this on a daily basis can predict what an equivalent opponent, in terms of gear and skill, will do. Looking at both Adovir and Altheran's posts, I can see where they are coming from, however, in my opinion, infiltration is too dependent on Clairvoyant Strike for optimal play. I would like to see 3.0 bring a new attack to the table and drop CS as the king of the hill. Who knows, maybe we get a new top tier skill : force slam would be nice .
  2. ./slap back because that still doesn't give me the icon and names for procs as an assassin tank / dps. I had to level my sorc to 55 to understand all the flipping icons and names. . 'Oooo chain lightning, da*** is that in icon speak??' Comprende? I also have a hard time isolating breaching shadows on an assassin when I fight multiple targets. 1 v 1 not an issue I got all the time in the world to track his procs but 1 v 3 target swapping I lose track of the stupid icon.
  3. I look at this thread and ask myself how many are scared more of them messing up rather than the introduction of this new concept? Am I the minority here who thinks they will mess it up big time given their track record? I would sit back and accept BW's failure when we will transition to this new system but the way they fix things freaks me out. BW does not test thoroughly the most basic of functions and we end up beta testing them on live servers. How can we even fathom a positive outcome with this system? This will break the game so badly when people will find a combination of 'utility skills' that will make them breeze through content and pvp. Are we forgetting the numerous bolster fiascos that took 6 months to fix? This overhaul, whilst needed, is a big change and I do not see Austin's team having the resources to do it right. Call me whatever insult you may want but one thing is certain : wishful thinking to believe that they will not mess this up.

  5. In a galaxy far far away, when I leveled, population was not an issue and damage dealers would always find a group to run flashpoints. Nowadays, if you want a group finder pop, tanking is the way to go, however, you should have low expectations due to the way this class is built : LATE BLOOMER. My level 16 assassin, made it to understand a bit better all this lingo people use on the forums, is much faster than my 3 year old shadow when i use certain abilities but slower in others. Shock does not even compare with project but discharge sucks compared to breach. The saber animation has to go on the assassin. Anywho, I queue for flashpoints as a tank and I do not feel I am a tank at all. With 3.0, BW aims to change this and give you access to tanking skills from an earlier level. Bottom line, in the current format, learning to tank on a Shadow / Assassin is not possible until you get a full Kinetic tree. Do not expect miracles and be patient. Once you get those points up to slowtime included, your playstyle will change dramatically and you will need to practice multi-tasking in terms of proc, optimal rotation, cooldown rotation, and positioning.
  6. I am trying to understand the logic behind 'vigilance and ED is fine nothing to see here' but I am having a very hard time. I guess killing someone three times before they die is the norm nowadays. I will stop here because it is obvious the hardcore defenders will not accept that a tweak is needed. Not a nerf but a tweak. Sadly, any change on ED will be considered a nerf even though it will bring more balance amongst damage dealer classed.
  7. I have 200 with 200 connection Fibre and I still can't do that magic cc on the ravage. My game ping is 19ms when TOFN does not decide to pull fast ones and I spike to this.

The math is correct as I have started jotting down some numbers as well , however, the window is too tight, and i guarantee that the jugg will hit his ravage/MS 2.7s included without being cc-ed. You are talking about .2s in a game where lag is MVP and the reaction on my client needs to be perfect. I still posit that in 9/10 the 0-2.7s MS/Ravage will land and you cannot cc him. Just because you will cc him 1/10 it does not make it the rule, consequently, you will eat ravage back to back without being able to cc.
  9. Not everyone is familiar with master strike clipping but I thought someone with your extensive experience in Vigilance would actually have a clue of what I am talking about. Both my sentinel and gurdian, do the same damage with master strike if I clip at 2.6-2.7 or if I leave it at 3.0s. This is what clipping MS means and not channeling faster as you wrongly assumed. I am excluding combat and carnage here as alacrity will affect MS channeling and people will not break on that. A good juggernaut in Vigilance can CLIP his masterstrike to have all the damage under Unremitting. What you call 'the backhand' is nothing but an ANIMATION of the ability. Which FYI is up to 10m. This has been verified and confirmed with combat logs so your 'cc the final part' because it is not under unremitting is moot because it will not always hit outside the cc immunity. You claim always which is false! It will only hit outside if you channel fully but the 'hit you call' is just an animation.

  11. True or you can be full Brutalizer in under a week with pre-season and double rewards . It is how i geared my shadow efficiently for pvp. With the way things are grinding that month you mention is more painful that having a chainsaw on your ********s.
  12. Let us have a look at this skill, shall we? Please find below : In my opinion, you have to be stupid to channel the whole thing as MS clipping provides the extra tick UNDER UNREMITTING. What is the point in me cc-ing the part that is insignificant when the damage has already been done? As stated above, just because I can cc a skill between .3-.1 of a second before the cast finishes it does not mean I can control it. In any case, Vigilance clearly needs a buff and everyone playing it has teamed up to show BW how weak the spec is. It was the same with SMASH. Juggs were all Shi-Cho for ages and it was the community effort to show how a class was either fine or in need of a buff. So BW please take note, Vigilance needs an urgent buff and it is forcing people to unsub! PS : ED is strongest in VIGILANCE than in any other spec, so ED and Vigilance are not mutually exclusive. The problem is not DUELS but GROUP PLAY!

This is the recipe to success : 1. have max expertise : 2000 cc 2. call inc west : 400 cc 3. call inc east (farther, price for petrol included) : 550 cc 4. Guard the healer : 330 cc 5. Don't break cc when I am capping and I have .1second left : 15600 cc 6. Focus healer? we need a new currency as the cc available in the game are not enough!
  17. I got used to the idea that I need to kill Juggernauts 3 times before they die. I got used to the idea that oftentimes I end up having new jugg companions in warzones because I kill them. They jump 2-3 on me and I have no means of escaping. They get damage reduction after leap? They get Enure/ED/Saber Ward/ Guardian leap heal/ Saber reflect in their arsenal? It is obvious the majority think juggs and guardians are fine so I am thinking the problem is elsewhere. Am i rite? Yes yes? Enjoy your juggs and roflstomping arenas with them. You will get nerfed in 3.0 so hard you won't even know what hit you.
  18. Shadows will get a nerf in 3.0. They will become unique in MMO history as the only stealth class to have its stealth removed .
  19. *addendum : Draxus: Saber Reflect can cheese Draxus identically to Resilience. A guardian tank will get no debuff whilst saber reflect is active and the dismantlers hit him. Shadows are superior at Draxus in terms of PhaseWalk and battle res. *Zero : stealthing out a mine will not remove the NiM debuff you receive and once someone runs close to you, the raid will push daisies.

  21. Extracting that from his post, whilst valid, does not deter from the big issue the conquest system has. He who crafts the most wins. It is this simple. I don't think it is your business what he and his guild will do from now on. He raised the issue of crafting and its efficiency compared to everything else.
