It was probably this abomination of a game that caused him to leave. At least he won't be able to destroy the Star Wars franchise anymore, he's left that up to Bioware and this game.

My problem with the republic, and why I quit.

Why do you not want to play the Imperial side? You could just spawn-camp your way up to Valor rank 100 in days! Watch out, any form of negative criticism, even if it is constructive, will call for a thread deletion. -
Maybe they should try optimizing the piece of **** game. They could even try being honest and not lying to the entire player-base. I can run Witcher 2 at 1920x1080 with high settings at a better frame-rate than this. The sooner you mindless zombies realize you've been played like a tool, the faster you can start complaining. Every single problem that has been shown, "we'll get round to fixing it some time in the future" Have fun handing over your money to liars monthly so you can play a poorly optimized game with no High Quality textures and bugs all over the place.

It's good to see that people are actually standing up and taking action. The game is just not simply worth the monthly payment, heck, it's not even worth the Retail price. I honestly think Bioware has just played everyone, there is no chance that you guys are this stupid, to release the game in the current state. The worst part being your so called "Community Managers" giving us shoe-horned responses and "oh, it will probably get fixed in the future" There are so many people here that are just mindless zombies that have no standards at all when it comes to games. Seriously Bioware, what the hell happened in the past 2 years, first Dragon Age 2 and now this?

I'm glad you enjoy buying a game AND PAYING MONHTLY and not getting what is promised. The textures look bad, and you'll just sit there and deal with it, eh? If Bioware can't even implement High Resolution textures (that probably don't look that good anyway) without having severe problems then God help them with content updates. Have fun paying monthly, I'll be taking the next stop off.

Oh hey look, it's someone who knows what they are talking about. This game is bad for a modern release, go look at Tera, that game runs great and it looks fantastic. They can go straight to concentrating on content because they didn't spend 90% of their production time doing voice acting and dialogue. I bet North Korea wish they could brainwash people this effectively.

Just do what most people will be doing and stop playing until they sort the huge amount of problems out.

It mainstreamed a successful formula. Even this game has that formula, even though this game is very, very story and dialogue based due to Bioware being rookies when it comes to an MMO.

I used to play Ultima in it's glory days, I'm not even sure that it ever even topped 1million concurrent subscribers. Please don't outright say that someone is wrong when they are right. UO and Everquest gave MMO's the bump that created WoW, and now the MMO market is booming thanks to it. You are right on MMO's not needing to regurgitate WoW's model though, this game sure as hell did it though. This game could drop like Warhammer, Aion or Rift did, you never know.

Please don't compare the games and then tell me that I can't. TOR's graphics are terrible compared to WoW's. Tesselation, advanced shadows (that aren't just blocks of shadow), the textures are much better, the game has actual anti-aliasing. TOR is just so technologically inferior when it comes to graphics. We make advancements in this industry, we don't suddenly stop in one place. You can't just go "ohhhh but WoW has been released for aaaages, give it time, it's not like this game has been created 6 years after" Why do TERA, Blade&Soul and Guild Wars 2 look so fantastic if there has to be a long wait?
-
Of course there are, the game is not one giant damn cut-scene Bioware, you can't go and put that in the options. When people click on High textures they expect High textures, not just slapping them in the cut-scenes and calling it a day. I dread to think how long this would take to sort out when there are more problems with the overall performance than there was in some of the Beta builds. Thank god I didn't resubscribe. What a joke.
-
I have no idea but it's very, very disappointing, there are NO advanced features. All we get is bloom and no anti-aliasing upon release for a game that cost so much to make. WoW's engine makes this look like a joke, there is absolutely nothing modern about this game, except for the release date. There are console games out there that are more advanced and perform better.
-
Stop comparing this to WoW, we're on the PC. We don't get stuck in release purgatory where every game is buggy as hell. There's a difference between "not ideally optimized" and memory leaks and frame-rate issues on a high-end computer. The Witcher 2 has a third party engine and it ran fantastically, I know you're going to say "BUT IT'S NOT AN MMO" An engine is an engine.

George Lucas doesn't like things being morally grey. They have to be good or evil, that's it.
