  1. It's not the helm causing it, it's the robe. They now persist the baldness caused by the robe even when the hood is hidden by a helm. It's annoying, it sucks, and it's the reason I wear exclusively trooper chestguards now.
  2. That is completely untrue. The books are restrained by a set of rules and have to be approved by Lucas.
  3. There are TWO situations where this will ever happen. 1) A duel. 2) Open world PVP in an area that has no significance and/or rewards. If there are complaints, they will be followed by a whole bunch of pointing and laughing.
  4. Ah. Open world PVP. They have said they will never balance with regards to open world PVP. Ranked and warzones, yes, objective based open world (Areas where companions are already banned) yes, but pure open world is, to use their term, "The wild west."
  5. Let's start with your force choke argument. You missed the part where it was only active during heroic moment. So yes, every 20 minutes, you can force choke. Force users can do that far more often, that's what they get. As for getting a BH to 50, most likely Death from Above is the shared ability. That again, you get to do once every 20 minutes. With a companion out. The "Uberbuff" gives you nothing you don't already have access to in a group with the other characters of the other classes. It is in no way game breaking, just a neat little unlock. It's not going to be cheap to unlock with credits, but they put it in there so someone who doesn't like to play the alt game can have one character at 50 they concentrate on. It's going to be easier to unlock legacy through alts than credits. Basically, the Legacy system is full of cool things that are cool for being cool's sake. There is nothing game-breaking or even game-changing about it. It's just fun.
  6. ... You passed the SATs? How exactly do you pass the SATs? That's like saying you passed an IQ test.
  7. I'm not saying trust critic reviews. I'm saying don't trust the "user" reviews either.
  8. Metacritic's aggregate is 88%. The user reviews are 100% worthless, as there is no control over them. And even if we were sure that all 1000 user reviewers had played the game and were giving honest opinions, that is not a statistically significant sample size with over 1 million subscribers. 5% is the generally accepted level of significance, that is 0.1%.
  9. Considering about 50 different publications name a Game of the Year, it'll probably snag and/or buy at least one.
  10. They tend to get more per "correct" answer too. My first companion gets 15 per standard correct answer. My second gets 20. My third gets 34.
  11. (Cut and paste response to a cut and paste thread) I loved the old Rebel Assault games, and this has a very similar feel. I love it, and considering most of the in movie space combat was portrayed in a very similar way (Most famous examples being the trench run and the destruction of the Death Star II) I feel it's very true to the spirit of the movies. I am a big fan of how they did the space combat, my only gripe is that there's no multiplayer missions and that there aren't enough missions (Never enough!).

  13. You don't do a lot of disassembling, do you... You can get better gear through crafting than commendations, you just have to work for it.
  14. Actually, the galactic market is part of the reason people aren't buying crafted goods. I don't want to scroll through 300 pages of every piece of heavy armor out there just to try and find a belt upgrade. But that's a whole other argument.
  15. Crafted gear is better. You just have to disassemble until you get the purple recipes. I'd be doing that anyway, since 9 times out of 10 the other rewards being offered are nowhere near as good as what I currently have (And no, most of what I currently have is not from commendations, it's from crafting and heroic quest rewards)
  16. Maybe those who are "afraid" of them, but that's not everyone who dislikes them. I did end game content back in EQ without mods. I think there was a parser out at the time, but I never really bothered with it. And I'm not now nor have I ever been Korean. I actually have nothing against the tools themselves, I used recount and dbm and plenty of other mods in WoW, and saved myself plenty of hours of frustration in the good old PUGs by seeing the percentage of people who had no chance and taking the cue to cut my losses. My problem is with the mindset it creates and the changes it necessitates from the design teams. I've seen it hit me, it's apparent in my statement just above. I've seen it hit those I've tried to help ("I'm putting out top DPS!" "You're dying in 30 seconds, you're bottom on damage done, you need to follow instructions" "I'm dying because the tanks suck" "You can't tank fire..." "Then it must be the healers" "... /kick"). Now in that, I'm not saying the tool causes idiots and apathy, far from it. I'm saying it gives them a very weighty excuse. Numbers are impersonal, and the more a game becomes about numbers the more you forget you're playing with people, the more you forget you're playing with people the less you actually care about or respect the others you're playing with. I don't know. I just know that while I'd use a parser and I'd tune the hell out of my rotation/priority/whateverthehellitbecomes just like I did in WoW, I'd also become far less likely to even interact with anyone outside my circle. Or maybe I'm just a cantankerous old misanthrope and they just give me an excuse.
  17. Ah, thanks much! Never noticed it there in Beta, but then, wasn't really playing the GTN in Beta =P
  18. I got a Jedi specific underworld trading pattern on my Sith today. Since it's useless to me, does the GTN go cross faction or, if not, any other way to sell this off? If not, this feels like a bug to me (not the xfaction thing, the receiving a Jedi pattern on my Sith thing)
  19. Aljaser and Ajai of Misha Why did I leave? First time, community fell apart. Second time, the game had gotten way too bloody easy, I was decked out in top gear with rapidly declining effort put in. Third and final time, Cataclysm couldn't hold my interest more than a month. Yeah, TOR will be my home for a while.
  20. Oh, the game launched? Then just go to your local store and pick up a copy and play. If it launched, well, that should be easy.
  21. It's hard to take the OT as anything but a cohesive set, likely because that's how I've always known them. The fact that the same can't be said of 1-6, or even of 1-3, is a tragedy. What could have been great was instead a joke. That said, Empire. (followed closely by SW, followed a bit further back by RotJ)
  22. You've played Yoda, not a custom character or game protagonist of his species. There is a difference.
  23. Yoda is a member of Yoda's race. There is a mandate in place from Lucas that no game, work of fiction, or any other bit of the EU explore this subject or allow a playable character of that race. He ain't a Jawa.
  24. Damnable lie! Those that care about server firsts don't have friends =P
  25. Play on a different server that they bring up later. Problem solved.
