  1. thats just being in denial, look at the most recent season, there weren't even enough eligible characters to give out all the rewards to, say bioware release a new operation and 3-4 months later there aren't even 100 players that have cleared it, you wouldn't see another operation released ranked pvp costs way too much resources compared to what it brings in, its a sign of sound and good business practice for bioware to get rid of it and reallocate the resources previously dedicated to ranked into other projects, the seasons idea worked great for pve and will more than likely work well for pvp, certain people not liking that is largely irrelevant since its more a case of looking at it through rose tinted glasses and nostalgia rather than looking at reality
  2. ranked removal is overall a positive thing for the game, very tiny community with very high demand of developer resources both for class balancing and for control to prevent cheating, its simply not worth the money and it caused issues for the rest of the community when devs felt forced to nerf classes due to their performance in ranked which spilled over on also being a nerf for the casual playerbase, arsenal merc being perhaps the best example i agree being happy its removed isn't great, but on the other hand anyone can understand why it did, and a couple of people leaving isn't a big deal if those resources that ranked required can be used to enhance/create other types of content that will bring in/ensure more player stay, which considering the small ranked playerbase, isn't that unreasonable to expect
  3. this is great for pvp, am very happy with the changes, removing ranked was a no-brainer and will benefit the whole player population, with no more class nerfs due to players performing well with them in such a narrow gameplay type like group ranked. and considering there weren't even enough eligible characters for last seasons rewards, is not really a big loss
  4. why would they? its not a logical way for a company or business to be ran and its equally illogical to expect it from a business nah, afaik the only reasonable solution i can think of is to drastically reduce the credits being generated by the game through player generated content and wait a couple of years for the change to come into effect, but those solutions won't work for the instant gratification/solution generation
  5. any solution thats proposed that effects biowares revenue in a way is just a unrealistic dream, this game is a business, not a middle school science project or a state welfare program, find a way to reduce inflation without affecting biowares sale of cartel coins and you will have biowares ears. and if you remove the suggestions you have made that would impact biowares revenue in a significant way, there isn't really much that remains that will have an impact on the inflation
  6. nah, prefer they just enable easier gearing than trying to make it into a 21 step process
  7. once you do a couple its fixed, its annoying as an text bug tho i guess
  8. CS: Helps and provides the solution Forum: Wall-of-text that provides no solution for the issue I dunno mate, as a former cs employee this is like 95% of what we dealt with, user error
  9. agreed, same with nightmare raiders in pve, once you have a single nightmare boss killed you should be blocked from ever stepping into a storymode operation or a groupfinder activity, it simply isnt fair. how fun is it that adds literally just die before i am able to reach them and engage in brave combat? i recently ran a storymode operation that i managed to join through fleet chat, however it turned out to be TECH FRAGMENT FARM, which in case you didnt know isn't a raid its just an entire group of players speedrunning through an operation killing everything in a couple of seconds. i had just managed to enter the operation and start exploring the amazing scenery around me when the group engaged the first boss, before i had been able to reinforce them the boss was dead did the group clear it fast? yes but was it fun? NO
  10. its just your average battlepass to give players a grind to do along with some fun cosmetics as rewards, if you dont wanna do it then dont edit: and only complaint is that you dont get ENOUGH of the currency you would otherwise need to buy with cash, heh
  11. tank balance is pretty good all in all, some classes could use some nerfs to avoid them being overpowered in certain content but across the board we are in a good spot, not as good as in last expansion but still pretty neat, with the upcoming changes to tanks i think it will be improved even more to be more balanced
  12. nah there is no market for another mmo with swtor theme, this one is doing well considering the overall industry
  13. thanks bioware these are great changes for classes that are very much over performing since they have both great burst AND great sustain, happy to see these changes that will leave the burst largely unaffected while adjusting the sustained damage to be more in line with the target dps for bursty specs
  14. sadly this has been an issue in prior patches, the response we got was lack of players doing the content even when it was balanced properly kinda made it low on the priority list along with the zakuul thing, with more reports tho it hopefully gets put higher on the priority list
  15. I think that most people within the industry would agree that at a large content drop, be that a new release, an expansion or a large patch the numbers of players will go up significantly and you will be happy to retain a fraction of that amount long term. Converting those "new/returning" players into different categories of playertypes that have a higher chance of spending money again on the game is just how a business like swtor or any other similar game works. You can compare it to an online store, first they are happy you visited the site (Play), then they want you to signup to the newsletter (Reach Endgame), then they give you free shipping for any item (Group content). There are loads of steps on this ladder, but with each step you are more likely to spend again. There is tons of research on this, but none of this should be news to a Hutt additionally this forum thread on a pretty deserted forum overall has 9-10 pages already is a good indicator (according to me at least) that 340 gear despite serving very little benefit for 95% of the playerbase, is very high in demand. If anything this thread is good indicator for bioware to keep using gear as an incentive to make players take steps on the ladder. In the grand scheme of things tho, I couldn't care less if some random guy doing storymode flashpoints were also running around in the same tier of gear as myself, i don't do many pugs as i prefer to play with the ppl on my disords, but when i do pugs i prefer the storymode guy to do 15k dps cause his gear is boosting him compare to the 10k he does now with a mix of 320-330 gear. Makes the flashpoint go faster.
  16. its pretty standard game design, gate certain rewards ppl WANT but dont NEED behind/within content with higher retention rates, welcome to reality of being baits, good job taking it
  17. which is fine as its just random cosmetics, anyone who buys a CM item like a pack or crate knows exactly that they are buying something that can yield a large variety of items and value
  18. access to cosmetic isn't a universal right, the inflation is pretty crazy but the items actually have a max price, its whatever you are willing to pay for them with cartel coins, someone else spent irl cash on these items (or more likely hypercrates/packs) and sell these on gtn/via trading, its pretty crazy to complain about just cosmetics
  19. while being a lowbie thats just reality, you cn change once u hit maxlevel if its not an option for you now
  20. Anyone who clears an operation boss has the same chance at getting gear as the rest of the players in the group, even if player a is in full 330 and player b is in full 340, contrary to what you may believe whatever you parse on a fight has no impact on your chance at getting gear or any other form of loot when killing an operation boss, all you need to do is be in the group. No serious raiding team will drop a player cause their max dps output is 26k and not 28k, certain pugs in certain discords will deffo have higher requirements, but it usually comes from a very high amount of applicants/interest, why take a guy doing 26k when you have 3 guys doing 30k to pick from? join a serious raiding groups with people at roughly your level that you enjoy playing the game with and spending hours doing operation bosses with and focus less on whatever the gear rating you have is, will be much more fun that way trust me
  21. thats great actually keeps some of the collections stuff exclusive good job mr bioware
  22. loot boxes are obviously not an issue, gambling in a game like this for just cosmetics is perfectly fine since it has no actual impact on the gameplay, the only reason to buy these boxes if you have not enough patience or funds to buy the specific item from the cartel market directly. you are making several active choices to buy funds, buy a crate and then open it so really its not a bioware/ea problem sure if someone has a gambling problem or if a child somehow gained access to their parents credit card i can see an issue, but then the suggestion should be for the person to get help with their addiction or the parents to have better awareness of their children/credit card bills across the board bioware has a very well-developed loot crate system that has very few/limited predatory tendencies, considering how this type of system is the norm in todays industry i am happy bioware have designed their system in this way, the alternatives could have been much much worse
  23. best way would be to disable the ability to search for players on lowbie planets and get a list of their names, guilds that recruit on lowbie plans are only the "quantity over quality" type anyway, they can keep posting in general chat but it would require a new player to actually whisper them for these guilds to be able to send them a ginv, same with friends/guildmates making a new char, they can just whisper an friend to invite them if they want to join a specific guild
  24. if all you do is lose, and you end up completing the weekly by losing 12 games in a row, perhaps its time to look at other reasons to why that is the case than just blame external factors heh
