  1. I have over 15k HP at lvl 49 but just barely. i have the best orange gear in the game, a crit double bladed lightsaber with aug slot, both implants crit with aug slot, and ear with aug slot. my offhand is also a master craft 5 augs all filled with +28 end augs (lvl 49). I also got every datacron in the game with willpower/str/end (including the +10 to all). So yes...if you spend about 3,000,000 twinking about about 2 weeks getting all the datacrons, you too can be l33t like me
  2. Ironic that the free 30 days of play ends tomorrow and Bioware starts charging credit cards? I think not!
  3. 2 thoughts: 1. Add a quest for all classes that goes over how Bioware wants you to post in their forums (/sarcasm). 2. Create a separate forum that is uncensored. Call it the 'Complaints/Unhappy' forum. When folks playing the game see their are 10x the posts than any other area they may think twice about resubbing or buying the game from the get go (assuming they are just reading forums to see if the game is worth playing) This gives existing and potential customers a transparent look into the thoughts and opinions of actual playing customers of the game and then they can make up their own minds.
  4. Here are my constructive tips: 1.) Stop censoring the forums. Every single negative thread about folks speaking their minds (mind you they are paying subscribers) ends minutes later with a response from a forum mod that they are closing the thread. This speaks to me that they don't want bad press about their game because they feel others would agree with that poster and it would ultimately end in more cancelled subscriptions. My suggested fix: let people speak their mind and fix the issues they are talking about. Complaining is a form of suggestions. Your customers are telling you what is wrong, it's your job to address those issues. It is not your customers jobs to come up with the fixes for you, and even when they do you don't listen anyways (i.e. rollback?) 2.) Pay whoever is policing the forums to fix the issues. I.E. you can close threads and police the forums at 2AM, but you can't issue an emergency patch to fix huge open issues in the game until later the next day. Seems like the priorities are backwards. 3.) If you want to police/censor things, how about starting with all the ridiculous character names and guild names that you stated up front wouldn't be tolerated. I could list you a few examples, but all you would see is asteriks ***** 4.) Don't delete this post (which i'm sure you will, even though i'm tried to conform to your requirements for providing CONSTRUCTIVE feedback). Thank you
  5. /agree DAOC was EPIC I miss the days when it actually took few months to level up a toon (EQ/DAOC) even if you grinded 'hardcore' The new WoW way is about '6-7days' played and you are 50, so no one really puts much thought into what they name their characters or how they behave. You can be a complete jack***** or completely suck and it's not like you have any worry of not being allowed into a guild or getting a bad rep because you can just re-roll or get a server transfer/rename really easy. I remember back in EQ it would take you weeks and often they wouldn't give you a new name. If you died you'd lose a week of leveling so people actually really respected healers and you always treated the clerics nice so they'd come rez your *** when you died solo'ing down deep in some dungeon. Now everything is carebear and designed so that everyone thinks they are a hero. I have a bunch of friends that max level'd in WoW way after my hardcore friends who practically had 'beaten' the game by the time everyone caught up to us. High Warlord...all that stupid ****. Well my friends that royally sucked who took forever would talk about stories of how ****** they were in pvp... why? because just like in this game you get rewards for 'just being there' it's that 'show up and you'll get at least a B" mentality that is runing our high schools and producing some real idiots into society. It's the same kids that go to college and royally fall flat on their face. for those idiots who are now trying to comprehend what analogy i'm drawing... in this game you are on easy mode to get level 50. You can die a million times and the worst penalty is you spend a few bucks on repairs or new gear. you get valor even if you epically lose warzones so eventually over time everyone will be running around in battlemasters gear. fail concept also...remember level 50 epics in EQ...yah the ones that took like 2-3months of questing and a full team of buddies to help you get, so when you had it really meant something? I got my champ lightsaber out of my first random lvl 50 purp bag...guess how long i will cherish that memory vs getting my shaman epic? ;-p
  6. I love the stupid gamers like Tim. You have no respect for people who unsub after 1 month? Do you honestly think people care? Funniest thing I read all day. As a beta tester I'm sure you realize that most of us 50s have in fact been playing for a minmum of 1.5 months, have over 7 days played, and most of us played at minimum several weeks of open beta weekends? I can usually tell if I like a game after playing for a few days. Perhaps this is a skill you lack. A lot of what folks are saying is 100% true and the only way things get fixed is by speaking with your $ and rewarding the companies that do it right. I can see your angle... give them some time to work this out, but they have been working on the game for 3+ years. They have millions of dollars from game sales and tomorrow they will collect on $20M+ in subscriptions. They could hire entire staffs of professionals (or complete morons for that matter) who would make better decisions than they are rolling out. Just like people cried... 'well you can't compare this to WoW/etc' or 'other MMO's had problems at launch too'. True True! However, this is 2012 and they should have learned from past MMO mistakes, not make the same ones and make them even worse than folks did in past games. This is simply pathetic and it's a shame that they tarnish the Star Wars name with this kind of sloppy work and ****** response to their mistakes.
  7. The game grossed millions because there are a lot of people that love MMO's and Star Wars is probably the coolest/most popular sci-fi series ever. The story transends generations and will be cool forever (good vs evil). The game could have been a lot *******r and still sold millions of subs. The fact is, after you are done with lvl 50 and possibly level'd another alt for the story (although i really don't think the stories are so great that re-leveling on nearly all the same planets is really worth it, unless perhaps you had 1 light and 1 dark character). After that the game gets pretty boring. At 50 you don't want to go exploring very much because you want to be ilum 24/7 for your dailies and getting your 200 valor buff so you can camp warzones to...yup you guessed it...do your dailies... and pray you get a lucky drop out of your champ bags. All the while grinding for that lvl 60 rank so you can get battlemaster bags and do the same thing all over again. No one would really care about this at all, except the PVP gear is SO much better than reg lvl 50 gear (even the best playermade/crafter stuff) that you literally do TWICE as much damage geared up in full champ/battlemasters vs a level 50 with greens/blues. So instead of running around helping low levels with quests or even looking for datacrons, i sit around in ilum waiting for some repub nub to repair his tower so i can blow it up over and over and keep my buff going... all the while no one attacks him because we need his *** to repair the tower so we can continue this idiotic cycle Then comes the 1.1 patch with some promising things. some good fixes, lvl 50 brackets...yada yada and what do they do...totally royally jack up ilum EVEN worse (which i really didnt even think was possible). The zone was already WAY too big and now they are capping the pop even lower. They dance around the issue that many players got 100+k of valor in a few hours which is literally insane, that's like 2-3weeks of grinding warzones. Again, no one would care really except the PVP gear is 2x+ times better than normal gear. I'm not a QQ nub I am lvl 50, valor rank 52 (got 2 ranks tonight in about 20min) and i have about 80% champ gear and top the damage boards as a sith inq. So i really shouldn't be complaining, but i totally agree with the OP. Saying they made a ton of money off people buying the game doesn't mean anything. If in a year hardly anyone is playing and they are having to consolidate servers, or 25-50% of the players quit after the first 4-6months that really does say something about the game company. Especially since it's starwars... which means we are willing to put up with extra **** just because it's something we really like. The fact they now have millions of dollars means there is even less of excuse for server issues/customer service issues/complete fail at patching the game/etc
  8. I vote Yes I play Imp. I went from valor 50 to 52 in about 20minutes just doing my daily to kill 30 rep. That is ridiculous. I'm surprised how many fail ideas I've read on how to fix this. Seems the player base is just as stupid as Bioware. Take 5 seconds, let your brain start working again. I know it's been fried from grinding on this game and lack of education (perhaps your parents sucked too). Simple Fix... Cap valor gains for today at some arbitrary number, say 10,000 valor? Anyone who gained more than that it gets wiped. That way the folks who legit played or who were doing their dailies still get some valor. Anyone who legit got more than that would have had to been playing warzones for 12 hours straight and winning them all back to back. So maybe 1 guy gets pissed and this whole mess gets sorted out. P.S. I did unsub over this. Call me QQ or whatever, but I was already getting bored at lvl 50 doing nothing but huttball over and over. I had hopes for open world PVP, but this company obviously has no clue how to implement patches or manage PVP. Release patch 1 day before our actual subscriptions are supposed to start/be charged? Coincidence... nope! They care about one thing. Not ruining Star Wars? NOPE! Answer: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!
  9. Yes we won :-) technically tonight I beat the game so no point in continueing Kind of like getting High Warlord and beating Onyxia in WoW and being 'done' Always go out on a high note
  10. That was easy! Great single player content! Horrible PVP/patching/etc I honestly loved the game before I first went to Ilum. Ilum was kind of "***", but I got used to it and there were a few good fights here and there as most of the overpopulated Imps didnt want to kill the repubs because they wanted to get their dailies done faster. I logged in today and was just like...***?!?! and i'm Imp side too. I got 2 valor ranks in about 20minutes just doing my daily ilum quest. All while getting about 1 frame a minute and not knowing *** was going on. Horribly broken patch and any game company worth a dime would do a rollback. Hell just do a rollback on lvl 50 valor or do a rollback to a certain point. I.e. let us all keep 10,000 valor and cut it off after that. That way the people who got legit valor playing WZ's keep whatever they got. Those that got 10+ levels of valor in a few hours of farming get nothing for milking something that wasn't intended. I'm old enough to know companies don't give a crap what people think, so the only way you can listen is by pulling your $$$. Also... don't confuse yourself folks, Bioware rushed this patch out because everyone's free 30 days expires tomorrow and they need people to keep their subs so they can start collecting real money. So they thought the promise of fixing a lot of issues would tide people over, especially the ones who were dumb enough to sub for 6 months (i.e. you cancel that you still get charged for the full 6). It's a good business marketing strategy, unfortunately one that takes advantage of gamers and is not in their best interest or in good faith/what an honest company would do. For those of you on the fence, but don't want to unsub/QQ like the rest of us you may want to at least change to a monthly to see what else bioware can jackup our beloved StarWars with another 30 days.
