  1. Yeah, I'm not even going to bother logging in if stuff is still messing up
  2. While not as bad as what your describe, I was dealing with similar lag spikes the other day. Big jumps while moving or in combat. When I got tired of it, I remembered this thread and tried the deletion of the diskcachearena file that Owen mentioned. I also did one other thing before starting the game again: I dug into my Windows settings and disabled the paging file (When going after the cache file I found that my SSD was lower on free space than I anticipated, and checked the paging file setting as I guessed that was what was taking up space). When I started the game again, everything was fine. Ping was down where it usually was, no lag. I haven't had a problem since. Might just be coincidence and the clearing of the cache solved it but it couldn't hurt to try disabling the paging file. You can always turn it back on/
  3. As much as I would like Jawas to be an option, I think I'd rather see Ortolan be a playable species. Someone needs to support the blue elephants
  4. What I want back are the moddable weapons from the one Imperial Taris/Republic Balmora vendor. I want that MD-5 Shock Viper Vibroblade again. And I'm sure there were some other nice looking weapons on there too.
  5. I had this problem the other day. Bring up Task Manager, find the process for Bitraider and end it. Open the Launcher again and it should work.
  6. Nostalgia for the olden days when we had to walk up hill in the snow to get to our Flashpoints, t'would be my guess. Or novelty. Back in the day I took a Sith Warrior through the class story and up to 50 without an Advanced Class, just for the hell of it. In the process, I learned that since the Jugg and Mara don't share an offhand item type, the base warrior never gets the ability to equip one until you pick an AC.
  7. At this point, I'm assuming they think that whatever quality of life changes they have planned and didn't mention in the blog (things like % for Commando ammo) are going to be enough to solve our issues or atleast placate us. I'd like to think they're not that stupid but past evidence...
  8. So no changes but we get to be among the first for the Class Rep thing after the patch. Yipee! Do they not see how colossally pointless that is? Nothing new is going to come from that. They're going to hear the exact same things they've been hearing for a long time, just louder and with more anger because we're tired of being overlooked.
  9. Starts in a little less than an hour, as I recall
  10. Since I'm having no luck with the digging lately, might as well try here. I'm looking for an Exploiter Repulsorlift. I've got spares of the Exploiter Chassis, Steering Mechanism, Turbine Jet Engine (2 of those) for trade. Or if need be, I've got credits and other stuff. I'm First'Aid on the Rep side of the Jedi Covenant server. EDIT: Snagged one of the pieces I was after, adjusted info accordingly.
  11. I'm not sure about other versions but for Windows 7, it's hiding in C:\Users\your Windows user name\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\settings\GUIProfiles You may need to go to your folder options and enable viewing of hidden files in order to dig into the AppData folder. Also, in the Settings folder are files dealing with a lot of the preferences, including some files related to individual character settings. May be worth copying to those too to make setting up after reformats easier.
  12. You know you could just do what some of us did before and that's run the crap out of the missions and such during the week the event is active to stock up on the Reputation items, since you can use them to gain Rep when it's a non-event week. Doing that I hit Champion 2 or 3 weeks after the event ended the first time.
  13. Switch to the Fullscreen windowed option, that should take out the loading screen
  14. Because it was a bug and they actually were supposed to deplete after the special treasure was found. They also added the Macrobinocular-viewable indicator to those areas, as that used to be missing.
  15. They're on Coruscant in the underground shopping area outside the Senate and Dromund Kaas in Kaas City by the class trainers. Those lowbie pvp vendors have always been there and it's currently the only place to find them
  16. Near as I can figure, the way the green indicator arc works is that the direction is based on the location you dug while the range (how narrow the arc is, if you're using the Mark 2 enhancer) seems to be based off your character's location at the time of the scan, which seems to be about the time the arc comes up. That just comes from my own observation and not from any sort of definitive testing. I could easily be wrong though. My standard procedure when digging is to use a Mark 2 enhancer, pick a spot to dig, and as soon as the seeker droid cast is finished, I move my character to the center of where I chose to dig and wait for the dig to complete and the scan to happen. If I get a green arc, I pick a spot in that direction based on how wide the arc was (because of the Mark 2) and repeat the process. I generally home in on the interesting item quickly at that point. If my first dig doesn't turn up a green arc, I reposition, usually running forward a good bit, and start the process over. As for the arc coming up showing opposite directions on successive digs in the same place, it's probably either that one item that happens to fall inside both arcs, assuming no enhancer is being used or that two different 'interesting' things happen to be in range from that point, one of them possibly having spawned in between digs. Potentially related to the opposite direction problem is a theory I have. I'm of the belief that the special treasure in each area periodically shifts position based on an internal timer (if so, I'm thinking the timer is some multiple of 5 minutes, possibly as low as 5). I've had times where I'd get the green arc and would be zeroing in on the interesting item only to have it suddenly disappear (scans coming up blank) and no one else was in the area to have possibly pulled it before I found it. Other times, I've located an interesting item, watched the droid dig, pull up the fancy treasure chest, and not get anything out of it. I believe in those cases, I'd located the special treasure at the exact wrong time for it relocate out from under me while I'm digging.
  17. Short answer: GTN. More complete answer: On the GSI vendor on Nar Shadaa is a Cybertech schematic for the MK-2. So you'll either have to get your rep up to Friend (I think), pick up the schematic, and start crafting or scout the GTN for people crafting and selling.
  18. Argh. Had a reply typed up, and the site ate it. Ok, let's try again Take this with a potential grain of salt. I don't get to run my Rage Jugg too often since I'm usually healing, so I freely admit I could be doing it wrong. I tend use Enrage as part of my opening Charge in and Smash. After that I start hitting abilities to bring down the cooldown on Smash. When it gets low, toss a Crush then Obliterate, then Smash. After that I start cycling around through the Assaults and Vicious Slash till about 3 seconds left on the CD for either Oblit or Smash. At that point, Choke to get the Shockwave, then the obvious. After that point, I pretty much use Crush whenever it's up, Choke when it's up and Crush isn't, and use Enrage when both Crush and Choke are down or if I need the 4 stacks immediately. I usually have very little downtime when Smash is up but Shockwave stacks aren't. The times when that happens, it's usually a couple seconds wait till something for Shockwave is off CD, so I fill the time with something like Ravage. The tree looks good. Only difference I have is I cut Stagger for Improved Sundering (stuff usually either doesn't move when I Smash, or can't be immobilized anyway). The last point is kinda a dead point. There's no clear best place to put it that I've found. I've got it in Enraged Sunder, but I'm tempted to try out Quake. Accuracy is also an option though, to be able to wring a little more Surge out of gear. Gear wise, I'm running the 2 piece Vindicator for that Enrage cooldown reduction. It's sick and helps you have the Shockwave pretty much everytime Smash is ready. The 4 piece is pointless, since Throw isn't needed to build Rage (free Smashs and all the use of Enrage means I'm never at a loss for it). I ended up grabbing a set of Weaponmaster gloves and boots for that 2 piece bonus. I figured cheaper Vicious Throw would be nice, since it's one of the things that can cut the cooldown on Smash.
  19. I know the sound you're talking about. Or atleast I know the sound you may be talking about. There were a couple of different laser sounds in that. Anyway, the A-212 Projection-X Blaster from the Voss Equiment Comms vendor is the closest I've found. It's not quite the exact sound I think you're referring to, but it's the best so far. Still got some others to check on though.
  20. This is why I'm a big proponent entering character info over at a site like AskMrRobot and taking the time to plot out your Black Hole/Campaign upgrades in advance. Every time I'm talking to someone that's starting to pick up BH stuff, I point them to that site. It may take you a little while, doing tinkering to find the right mix of gear/mods, but it's worth it since it makes things so much easier, quicker, and cheaper in the long run.
  21. I didn't even think of that. That makes the selection of weapons even more of a ripoff for the non-blaster/sniper rifle classes, since they still won't be able to move hilts.
  22. I have a three word solution for this problem: Set Bonus Augments. Solves the issue of Campaign/War Hero armorings not being available to everyone. Solves the clown clone problems of the Columi/Rakata gear. Even saves Bioware a fair amount of database space and time later, since they won't need to make 137 different armorings for each new tier of gear. It even makes it easy for them to implement a brand new set of bonuses if they wanted.
  23. Any chance we could get Augments with set bonuses on them like the Campaign Armorings, so that we aren't forced to either wear the Tionese/Columi/Rakata stuff or have to farm Hard Mode Explosive Conflict in order to wear what we want?
  24. A set of augments which have just the set bonus on them. No other stats, maybe make them slot-specific like the armorings. It would solve a lot of people's complaints about being forced into an 'ugly or goofy' outfit, or looking like a carbon copy of other people in order to get the set bonus. I would gladly give up the stat gains from a bunch of my augments to have the ability to wear whatever gear I want. Maybe make it so 2 augments equal 1 real set piece/armoring. So you'd need 8 augments, or 6 augments and 1 set peice, etc. That way there would still be incentive to go after the normal set pieces or the Campaign armorings, since by using those you'd be freeing up the augment slots for actual stat use again. And I'd say make them purchasable from the Tionese/Columi/Rakata vendors, and have them cost a mix of Tionese Crystals/Comms and Columi Comms. It would give people something to spend surpluses of those on, and/or give people even more reason to run HM FPs and Ops.
  25. Ok, thanks. I wasn't sure if the numbers had changed recently after further analysis. Got some character tinkering to do then.
