  1. No arguments about Olivia Munn here, she's one of my favs. And, half Asian and though young for the role, is old enough that she could be made took look 15 years older without totally changing her face. Jennifer L could work too, but she'd have to work on her comedic timing since Kira is a smart ***. John Kerry defiantly looks the part. Unfortunately, he's probably a bit too busy as Secretary of State to film a movie. But I did say dream cast and money no object and for enough campaign money, politicians have proven that they'll do just about anything, so I'll allow it.
  2. My Personal opinion top picks from the suggestions so far Revan - keanu Reeves Satele Shan - Kelly Hu Malgus - Tom Hardy or vinnie jones Marr - Vinnie Jones or Tom Hardy Lana Beniko - Melanie Laurent Nico Okar - Josh Brolin Darth Baras - Anthony Hopkins Darth Zash-Naomi Watts Jace Malcom-Vin Diesel Vitiate - Doug Bradly And an honorable mention for Christian Bale who I want to include but thought Keanu slightly inched him out, since he's been known to play small but very powerful, very well such as Matrix and John Wick. Maybe Christian Bale could be The Hero of Tython? Or Christian bale could be Revan and have Keanu be the Jedi Consular? Or Christian bale could be the Sith Warrior "Wrath" if he was willing to play a bad guy Also, I kind of liked it better in the Revan book, where Vitiate was a Sith Pureblood better. Doug Bradly could still play him, or just have him be the emperor's spirit's current host. According to the lore in this time period, most Sith are supposed to be Sith Purebloods, right? However, most of the council seems to be human....That seems... unlikely.
  3. Liking these: Revan-Keanu Reeves Darth Malgus-Tom Hardy Hugo Weaving as Marr could work. He is tall enough, but his suite would have to add quite a bit of mass to him. But they did that with Michael Keaton's Batman suit so its doable. Love him as an actor. I approve. Nico Okar-Josh Brolin - Nice idea to have him in the movie and I think your actor pick is spot on, as well. Jace Malcom-Vin Diesel Darth Baras-Anthony Hopkins - Yep, perfect I love Gylenhaal, but he's way better when he does dark roles like nightcrawler. I see Theron as a wanna be Han Solo character, so a skilled/trained, pragmatic spy who's a bit of a scoundrel, a bit of a charmer, and a bit wise guy; so the personality of Chris Pratt, but the look of the character.
  4. Yes, this is the best one for her so far. Good find.
  5. HA! some good ideas here I think Karl Urban makes a better Theron than Marr, just because he's not a very large person. He actually makes a really good Theron. I think Vinnie Jones would make a great Malgus or Marr Oddly, I kind of dig Ruffalo as Revan though on paper it seems like it shouldn't work. Bale is a bit more obviously right for the roll, being the right general look and we know he can pull off action. Naomi Watts as Zash is GREAT!!! Melanie Laurent looks a lot like Lana, great find there, too. I feel like Satele Shan needs to be a half Asian actress. She was modeled after Sno E. Blac who is half Korean, and half Asians tend to have a unique look to them. Unfortunately, I don't think Sno is old enough to play her for this time period. Lucy Liu is about the right age and we know from several movies she can kick ***, but being full Chinese she doesn't have that hapa look, either.
  6. I'm bored at work, and started thinking about how they are changing the look of Lana Beniko in the new expansion, and how Daisy kind of looks like Jaina Solo.... Anyway... Say they make a movie about SWTOR (which they wont, but just for the sake of discussion and a fun hunt for actors), who should play the following characters in a live action movie with no budget constraints. Revan Satele Shan Malgus Darth Marr Lana Beniko Theron Shan I intentionally left out the main characters/player characters because they obviously look very different for each person, but feel free to add your thoughts on actors for other characters like companions or other story characters. Keep in mind not only people who might look like them, but could also play the role; ie have at least enough athletic ability to look like they know how to fight and would be able to act well enough for the movie not to suck. OK, let your google searches begin.
  7. I lead an progressive HM raid group for my guild where I DPS. I was thinking of getting involved with another ops team where I could have fun gearing up either a healer or tank which would be something different to do, and also let me lead my group better learning different roles. I don't really want a permanent spot, I'm looking for something more along the lines of being one of many qualified alternates and if I'm on, I'll do it. General chat is total garbage, looking for something better. I've heard there are private chat channels for people who have legit raid experience to pug into raid teams when someone calls out for the night. My raid group is on the republic side so chats on that side would be ideal. Can someone PM me the details? Or find me in game under the name "Clayton"
  8. Hello GopherLove, Sorry I didn't indicated that we were on the Pub side. You have one guy who applied ahead of you who is going to raid with us next Monday. You can be the alternate for that raid in case something comes up with either healer and if not, raid with us the following Monday. I've friended you in game, you can friend my raid toon Clayton, as well so we can sync up in game. You can also create an account on our forums dominusnihil.com/forums and I can get you access to our private operations forum for the latest info with the raid group.
  9. Dominus Nihil (DN) is looking for a permanent healer to fill a spot recently lost in our ops group. We meet once a week on Mondays at 9pm ET (6pm PT) and play for 2-3 hours. Requirements lvl60 healing character on the Republic side General understanding off operations and fighting mechanics Availability Monday nights to play with few exceptions Mumble (free to you) for voice coms (we can help set you up) Casual friendly attitude Preferred Understanding of the fights on story mode/having completed the fights in SM 192 raid gear (if you don't have it, that's not a deal breaker. We could run SM one night and get you geared up) Other Joining the guild would be welcome, but not required. We typically follow Dulfy strats fairly closely with minor modifications on what seems to work best for us to get the encounter on farm We have a fair loot rotation, typically one set bonus piece per night chosen by highest role About us DN has been together since the launch of SWG about 10 years ago and plays multiple games together. We are primarily in our 30s and have been playing video games since our childhoods. We are often jovial with one another but take progression seriously. If you are interested you can: reply to this thread with your character name and general info go to dominusnihil.com/forums and post your interest on our website. send me a private PM
  10. I've been feeling like TH yields purples far less often than the others. But reading this has inspired me to convert one of my warriors form diplomacy to treasure hunting for vette's bonus and that should improve the rate.
  11. I read their post and didn't miss the last part where they said they would adjust the drop rate. I also realized that this meant that it would be decreased. But based on the fact that it was working as intended and the rest of the post seemed to support that they liked the slot machines and felt that they provided us with something we wanted and was fun, I thought it was going to be balanced, not all but completely eliminated. I was thinking dropping it down to 33-66% of what it was. So, instead of 8 in a 99 stack, you would get maybe 4. As it is now, I haven't gotten any jawa trade coms which is all I wanted it for, so its been changed from a useful tool to a cash for rep machine. Luckily, I never bought my own SM so all I lost was access to faster, reasonably priced treasure hunting mats; I would be far more upset if I had spent 3.2 million credits on one or worse, real money/cartel coins. I think all those people have every right to complain that the content changed after purchase (bait and switch) and they should be refunded. Those that spent real money/cartel coins may even have legal grounds to demand it. Probably not worth the hassle over a few dollars, but still; would be an interesting class action lawsuit in that gray area of virtual property.
  12. Perhaps that's WHY you prefer them... You don't craft, but I bet you sell the mats for huge profit to those that do...
  13. I would personally be happy if they simply increased the return rate on purple drops for the Rich grade missions. Especially Treasure Hunting, which at least for me, seems worse than the others. IMO, rich missions should provide purple mats 100% of the time if they don't fail with 100% affection. Bountiful should be between 10 - 33%. No chance for the others. And Im fine with longer mission times, as long as I can get reliable results. And then Wealthy can give you some of everything and be guaranteed, like it already is. As it is now doing just Rich missions, we end up getting 5 99-stacks of blues just to get enough purples to craft one purple relic. This makes the value of the blues only what a NPC vendor provides, since the market is so over saturated from everyone trying to get purples.
  14. Logged in this morning and purchased a 99 stack. Got zero jawa junk of any kind. Got about 22 green rep, 15 blue rep, and 8 purple rep. numerous spin agains. Nothing else
  15. Hello! I'm the Guild Leader of Dominus Nihil on JC. We would like to invite those that are currently new to the game, guild-less or unhappy with their current guilds to come hang with us for a bit to see if Dominus Nihil is the home that you have been looking for. Background Dominus Nihil (Master of Nothing in Latin) was created shortly after the launch of SWG back in 2003. We began as a collection of friends and avid gamers with similar personalities that met in game and decided to band together to compete with the power gamers. We created a mature yet competitive guild that remained largely drama free over the years, and has often been praised for our family feel. Over Ten years later we are all still friends, and finding new friends all the time. Quite frankly, I can't imagine playing a game with any other group of people. We've expanded into many games over the years which are too numerous and not relevant enough to mention, and have had a significant presence in SW:TOR since Beta. We are always looking to grow the family with like minded players. We are Republic factioned guild with a Sith sister guild. We are mature gamer friendly - most of us are in our mid-thirties. But we aren't all old fogies either; we're constantly picking up young blood when we find that they have the same mature values as we do. We are serious players with a casual feel with a commitment to seeing all aspects of game play as a guild including Operations, Flashpoints, Warzones, Open-world PvP, coordinated crew skills, leveling groups, heroics, world boss hunting and social events. Camaraderie is DN's most important goal and will always be our first priority. For numerous testimonials from DN members see our past recruitment threads and read out their experiences in DN and how they became part of the family Past Recruitment Post 1 Past Recruitment Post 2 Content We have a set raid groups burning through new content, open sign up raids held throughout the week, and are looking to set up a second permanent raid group. We haven’t historically been focused on PvP but we do have several players who PvP regularly and we are always looking to pick up other PvPers to expand in this area. The Season Three Ranked PvP rewards are looking pretty sweet so we are currently in the process of setting up a ranked PvP Team. We also have a Republic guild ship with most of the room unlocks completed and are currently working towards the Sith side guild ship. We also compete in the weekly conquest contest and this past week scored our highest place yet with a 2nd place finish over Tatooine and with a few more people helping out we will only be that much more competitive on a weekly basis. Participation is always encouraged but NEVER required. Our players are active and helpful, and our crafters are always willing to help get players new to endgame geared up quickly. How to apply My invitation to you is to do a /who Dominus and see who is online. Either just hang out for a bit to test the waters or ask for an officer to set you up as a recruit. If you feel we are a good fit for you visit our website at dominusnihil.com/forms and fill out an official application. Thank you for your time and consideration. Dominus Nihil http://www.dominusnihil.com/forums Server: Jedi Covenant - Timezone: EST, with members from all over the world including West, Central, & Eastern US, UK, Australia, and Canada - Guild experience bonus - Mumble server provided - Guild Website and forums with chat client
  16. Sigh! Our guild needs this as well. The guild leader doesn't always have the ideal schedule or play time to invade as early as possible to maximize points. This is an unnecessary disadvantage. There needs to be some way to delegate being able to invade.
  17. Been rolling with DN for as long as I can remember. Wouldn't dream of playing any MMO without a Dominus Nihil tag by my name. Highly recommended for laid back players who understand that this is a game to have fun with but still want to be involved in end game content at a high level. And people looking for a great community for not only TOR but all the great games down the road, as well.
  18. Has anyone found a good strat for the accomplished arms trader loot boss group? There is a med tech that can't be interupted or CCd so I assume he has to be killed first. The other two can be CCd. But the arms trader seems to do major damage to random people? We tend to wipe the first time but kill the healer... then we come back and clear it... How do you do this correctly.
  19. I personally recommend balancing them.... The new gear is crit heavy so I kept about half of my lvl28 power/suge mods and replace the other half with the lvl30 Crit/alacrity or crit/suge based on what dropped for me in HM FPs. Seems to work pretty well though I haven't done any side by side testing. I've seen crits as high as 9500 and crit reasonably often. While I agree that many crits are wasted on topped off tanks, I've also seen crits be the difference of defeated bosses and wipes when things get spikey or bosses are throwing out burst damage. I'm sure I'm not 100% optimal but it works just fine until I get the highest tier gear and can spend more time Min/Maxing. They way I see it, the lvl30 mods are just temporary and min/maxing before I'm full lvl31 is a waste of money. Unless you are all full lvl31 already; but I'm sure the people that L337 aren't asking for gear advice.
  20. Hello raiders! I'm a raid leader in Dominus Nihil on Jedi Convenient and we have a need for a permanent geared healer for our weekly operations in our midnight raid group. This group is currently on the second boss of HM TFB; though about half of us have cleared HM TFB running as substitutes with our earlier raid groups. Our progress has been delayed due to inconsistent raid groups and people having to run on Alts and not playing the same role each week. We are a semi-relaxed raiding group who mixes a desire to clear content with having fun; i.e., we joke around and tease each other to a point but expect people to be focused and keep mistakes to a min throughout the operation. We are not looking to help catch someone up in gear; we want someone already similarly geared and ready to go. While not required, we prefer the player become a member of DN; players willing to do such would be given preference over others. Requirements: Fully geared for HM TFB; min gear Full BH/lvl26 custom or better. Has cleared HM EC with your healer Has Cleared SM TFB with healer Willing to install Mumble for voice communication and has a mic to speak. Availability Midnight to 3am Eastern (9pm to midnight PT) registration on guild forms for operation schedule The following are not required but considered a plus: experience with HM TFB as a healer experience with HM TFB in another role unguided or looking for another guild If you meet the requirements and are interested in applying, please reply to this thread to get more information. 23. Nice, this is perfect then. Class story could be about the Followers of Palawa having developed Teras Kasi over generations (or whatever it is) are now coming out and putting practices in place to keep Force sensitives in check. You are the promising student of one of the Masters who goes out into the Galaxy. Or, less cool, but still cool, would be to add a TK Companion for non force sensitive classes and Echani companion for Force Sensitive classes.
  24. I just realized the big flaw in my idea.... TKs didn't exist yet in the timeline.... dough... never mind... /fail But you could still do Echani and make the class playable by both sides with different story.
  25. Actually, it was called "Squad Leader" as I said: http://www.swgcharacterbuilder.com/swg-cb.php?prof_id=28; I never played the class myself, but I PvP'd enough to get a general idea of what buffs they gave. Speaking of old SWG classes, god how I would love a Teras Kasi class. Such an interesting and rich history; TKMs typically LOVED being TKMs, not because they were powerful, because they weren't, but because it was just cool. Would be an interesting new Tank/DPS class with great potential for the player storyline. When I played my first Sith toon and found the "followers of Palawa" (who eventually create the Teras Kasi Order in SW:EU lore) I was super happy. Maybe make Teres Kasi Sith based and Echani Republic based (or visa versa) but make them mirrors. BioWare seems to like the whole normal people becoming as powerful as Jedi thing through a lifetime of training and centuries of development. The problem is that Teras Kasi HATE all force sensitives so it actually makes more sense for them to be a 3rd faction; but BW has already said a 3rd faction would be game breaking and not going to happen. Some will probably say, if you want SWG, play the SWG Emulater; but I don't see the problem with taking the great things form SWG and adding them to the superior game that is SWTOR. Maybe someday if they ever get the time and money to add new classes as an expansion (including story class act with acting) I hope they consider this. I would think the whole idea of adding new classes is pretty high on the wall of crazy though.
