  1. your premiss is that the only definition of success is financial.. which only applies from the business point of view. now if you were to ask whether after 6 months the game was still attracting new customers or at the very least maintaining its customer base. then its not such a success. I would guess that they hoped the game was still in a steady growth cycle after 6 months not a downward spiral, which seams to be the case.
  2. if you think the only measure of " overpowered" is dps then your off your head. its about dps PARTLY but then you factor in stuff like how many Oh Feck buttons they have , can they self heal , shield etc....... then you decide if its OP.

  4. yes i agree i finally quit cos it was basically 3 guilds ( 2 rep one imp) plus maybe about 20 solo que guys who were the entire population who pvp on my server. so you knew exactly how every match was going. if you were in the guild team = easy win if you were solo que but with a 4 man team from any of the 3 guilds = easy win if you were in a 100% pug team = stomped to bits. all day long . the same tired old warzones with the same small pool of players day in day out grinding gear is just mindless repetition

    having upped the dps vesus passive mitigation in 1.2 you have created a problem. the problem is survival other than passive mitigation ( larger health pools , armour , resists) is all about defensive CDs ( bubbles , shields etc , that you pop ) the classic " oh feck buttons" now ALL games with classes etc, except this game gives tankish classes larger health pools and armour ( i mean noticably larger health pools ) over dps , healing , rogue type classes. those classically rely on other tools to survive. like stealth, self heal , etc. bioware decided to bin that and give everyone the same health or at least so close it makes zero diffrence. I have 3 lvl 50's and in same gear level they have 99% the same health pools even tho one is a healer and 2 are tanks. Again n pvp they have made the armour stat virtually meaningless , as large amounts of damage bypass armour or dont trigger shields. this again minimises the value of armour to the point that even a 3k armour diffrence is negligable against most damage. So having threw out 2 classic passive mitigation tools what have we got. defensive CD's now you would think surely the tank classes would then get the best defensice Cd's available to compensate for the loss of its passive mitigation mechanics ?? NO they give those to the sent/marauders high damage DPS classes. forgive me if i dont know the names of the abilities , but i,m talking of the "paladin" type bubble they can pop every 90 seconds that stops 99% of all damage for its duration . they also get the force camo , effectively a dissapear for a few seconds that also mitigates damage when popped , again timed well can enable them to survive long enough to heal a bit or re-emerge to stop a cap while help arrives etc. this is by far the best defensive CD in the game bar none and its on the shortest timer. compare that to my JK gaurdian, in full tank spec i get 2 defensive CD's one mitigates 40% damage for 10 seconds (warding call) the other mitigates 25% damage for 12 seconds ( blade barrier) both on 3minute timers. bear in mind i have to gimp my damage heaps to spec tank to get warding call. on my vangaurd i get one shield that mitigates 25% damage for 12 seconds although i can have it in any spec. i played a pally in vanilla WoW and nothing pissed off the horde more than our bubble , but even tho we had it we had gimpy damage and our healing was only really support type not main healer. and we had no other Cd's to survive. its borked , imo and is the reson who the gods of pvp are now maras/sents, and shadow tanks , who also have too much survivability added to good damage and good CD's

  8. now your just being absurd,,, or are yuo really that dumb? nobody cares in pve who has better gear ,,, in fact in pve i love being in groups with guys in uber gear ,,, cos htey are helping kill stuff , not trying to kill me ....

  10. i can understand the need for a bit of some sort of pvp stat ... i played vanilla wow and our guild used to sometimes do some team pvp in out blackwing epics before many folk had much pvp gear , and folk used to mass leave cos we had such a gear advantage from PVE . which was understandible.. but as others have said , the expertise should be baselined ,, and then only leave the normal stats immproving so raiders dont overtake , but also the gap from normal lvl 50's doesnt get to where it is now.

  12. no i dont think its fair or balanced ,,,, the new system is utterly horrible ... i support having everyone in very similar gear , so skill can be the biggest stat.
  13. i dont have issues with rewarding time spent with some sort of gear reward progression, within reason .. my point is the irony where those who expect the best gear simply for practicing more then call others entitled...
  14. I hear lots of talk about casuals or "bads" etc feeling entitled to better gear easier etc. But tbh the arguement is utterly upside down. It is only in the world of gaming that those who play most feel entitled to gear advantages. For example in any other sport you choose to think about ( i,ll choose football for example.) where a team has lots of time to dedicate to practice and playing as a team all the time , they will improve individually and as a unit. This is universally true as it is in terms of pvp gaming. Guilds who form premades with the same guys and have the available freetime to practice more will become better. so why then do the same people feel ENTITLED to always having a gear advantage over those whom they should be better than anyway? I speak of people who dont have the time to practice as much and who can't always play in the same unit. ( pugs, casuals etc) To bring it back to my football analogy , this would be like Barcelona demanding that when they play a bunch of guys from the local school that the officials make sure that the Barcelona goal is smaller and that the other team only wear bare feet. Even further skeweing the odds in their favor than their superior practice and tactics should already have them stacked. I know thats an extreme analogy , but the point is the same. In no other competative arena would the highest trained and most experienced competators DEMAND to have better equipment than those they compete against and expect to get it. minmise the gear gaps and gear up everyone , lets have a level playing field i say .... then let the most skillfull teams shine ... same as every other walk of life plying 10 hours a day should ENTITLE you to nothing , except your own honed skills which nbody would argue against.
  15. i wonder if yuo ever had a job after this statement? theres a key difrence between my job and the MMO i play. my boss PAYS me to work for him I PAY bioware to have fun. now you think its gonna work if bioware starts punishing me for not doing waht i'm told ........ duh!

  17. you need to reward everyone why takes part in every warzone . obviouslt winners should get more , but you need to reward the losing side or end up with one faction servers and a dead game. for example as the new patch brings zero rewards for a bad loss and only slight rewards for even a narrow defeat. here's waht begins to happen. 1. folk are aware they will get zero for a bad loss , they start to look harshly at their own team in terms of kit b4 the match even starts. if they see a few new 50,s with 12k hp , they leave b4 its even started. 2, some might wait a bit see how the first few mins go , it starts badly they leave. no point playing another 10 mins for next to nothing. next match they join the folk using option 1. 3, they start to play their alt more who is on the other faction that is dominant on their server , even if its not really the faction they would pick all things being equal. this compounds the problem for everyone left on the less dominant faction. 4, they stop taking part in pvp or even unsub. EVERYONE pays to play this game and anyone who pvps likes winning , they might not mind losing some matches or even more than they lwin. but it gets to a point when you just keep losing that it loses it's fun and becomes frustrating. Then you either stop or switch to the winning side. The only way to keep folk playing on the losing end of matches is to reward them for being ok with it. and give them a chance to win some
  18. thats not an explanation . a grenade by definition should be an area effect. and if its just supposed to be a single target 30 yard shot then call it anything you like and remove the countdown cos whats the point? i,m just trying to get some feedback on whether its broken ( which is what i believe ) or working as intended. i mean why would it share the same timer as sticky grenade and have the exact same tooltip if it wasnt intended to be simply an upgrade with more ooomph.

Assault plastique 31 point vangaurd grenade , except its a single target grenade it doesnt hurt anyone else except the target. this must be broken surely? i mean its an upgrade from sticky grenade which does work like a grenade and hit folk around the target as you would expect. except the upgrade 31 point grenade that even shares the same CD as sticky suddenlt becomes single target..... i mean if its just a single target hit then why bother with the timer just make it a shot and give it its own CD.... total rubbish if this is working as intended.

  21. i played a sage to 50 and its the easiest class in any MMO i ever played. And i played them all pretty much. to have that amount of utility with pretty decent damage and sustained healing is just nuts. another thing that hasnt really been touched on is the lack of disparity in health pools between archetypes. for example i have 2 tank classes also and with similar gear at the same level the health pool diffrence is negligable. in other games you would expect tanks to have maybe 5-8k more HP with same quality kit over clothies. in this game its more like 1k. this added to the bubble sorc/sages get make them seem no more squishy than a tank especially since our shield generators dont work in pvp. basically all the trades offs associated with glass cannon type classes or healers dont exist here so they have all the advanteges except stealth. oh and they never go OOM either....... seriously normally you would have to balance your stats to either get huge mana pool , or perhaps you would favor fast regen on your mana. or maybe you would sacrifice regen or pool siize to get more punch or crit on your heals/ damage spells. But again since none of this is a factor to trade off in TOR , you simply stack up as much willpower as you can get which makes you heal more and do more damage without worrying about going OOM. and all the willpoer gear had very generous endurace meaning your health pool is almost the same as the other classes. even tho my main is sage i can see we need nerfed hard for the greater good.

    Healers are OP

    i can honestly say that sage/sorcs are so crazy OP its madness. i play sage as a hybrid but not the ultra EZ-mode pvp hybrid , i stuck 13 points into the healing tree to get the HOT . even then i can heal non stop pretty much as well as have better survivability than any other class i played . as well as never have to manage any resource. i mean on my JK i have to manage my focus. sometimes i die with no focus to do any decent damage. on my trooper i run out of ammo in fights. on my sage my main spammable no CD damage spell actually tops up my force pool. crazy , so if i,m spamming damage i,m actually recharging at the same time. ir's just too easy to play sorc/sage, and if you say diffrent your delusional.
