  1. Devs are salty as hell cause they got called out.
  2. I learned years and years ago with this game that Hanlon's Razor is 100% applicable to the Dev Team that runs SWTOR. "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." The changes and updates they make to the game are not done to piss off, they just done out of stupidity. Just how it is.
  3. I mean, really any planet honestly. Give me more than a couple of areas on a planet. Mere fraction of a planet doesn't cut it at all.
  4. This is where Yoshi-P would say "Please look forward to it™" Difference is, he delivers on his promises 90% of the time.
  5. Game went hard south post Rise of the Hutt Cartel honestly. Kinda came back up with Revan expac but then nothing but a damn nosedive since then. Only way I can see the Devs making amends is putting out an Expac with at least two or three new planets with A LOT of open world to explore, quests, achievements, Flashpoints and a couple of Raids. Hell, we have never really had a proper Expac besides RotHC and even then that was bare minimum. This game failed WAY before 7.0....please don't kid yourself.
  6. Only game devs I have learned to kinda trust in the MMO space are the FFXIV Devs. I don't think I have EVER trusted the devs at Bioware/Broadsword. Just can't. Too many screw ups and dropped balls...especially with one of the BIGGEST selling IPs in history. It's like watching a trainwreck happen in real time honestly.
  7. "You've killed OPs and Group Play". Fixed it for ya!
  8. Shhhh, we don't mention other MMOs like WoW, FFXIV, LOTRO and such that get WAY more content (PvE, PvP, World Explorations) for the same sub price. Not to mention expansions either...which are just patches here in SWTOR. Don't call them expansions here because they aren't. They are just patches. Want to see an expansion? Go look at WoW or FFXIV, who actually give a damn about their game despite what it may seem sometimes.
  9. Schrute bucks and Stanley nickels...cause Broadsword certainly isn't paying much!
  10. I would totally be fine with KOTOR-style dialogue for main character interaction while the NPCs are voiced honestly. Would allow budget to be moved to story and expansion material for the game. I know, I know... Heresy!!!! How dare that I would rather want additional storyline that would allow the game to grow, or new things to do over my character speaking. Some of all are extremely deluded I swear...
  11. Sir, we don't say that around here. Gonna hurt some people's feelings. But agreed, this is maintenance mode. It is what it is. Broadsword is only known for taking in MMOs for minimal updates if that and keeping them alive via random bug fixes and keeping the light on. That's it. As soon as I saw it being moved to Broadsword, EA didn't even NEED to say it for everyone to know it's maintenance mode. My predictions: They finish out the 7.x storyline and with them saying "2025 will be a big year for em" awhile back, I think that means that they wrap up the story, end game story updates and at that point it just becomes one big space barbie sim. What hurts the most is that this game could have been SO MUCH BETTER! This game could have stood shoulder to shoulder with WoW and FFXIV... I 100% believe that. But EA and Bioware squandered every single opportunity. They pissed away the chance to make an MMO on one of the BIGGEST IPs in the world. It's like bankrupting a casino: You either are laundering money and get caught, or so extremely stupid and inept that the place collapses.
  12. Oh, and redoing models too! Currently they are in process of re-doing High Elf and Elf models w/ Hobbits coming afterward. Along with class tunings, classes and races.
  13. Something something small indie company something something. But yeah, SWTOR will NEVER....NEVER...see an "Expansion" like what WoW, LOTRO, or FFXIV has. Hard stop, it won't happen. If you somehow believe that then you are deluding yourself. Would I love it if we did? Hell yes I would, but I know it isn't happen. I will say though, really does amaze me that LOTRO somehow pumps out decent size expacs with multiple zones, quests, deeds (their version of achievements), dungeons and raids along with new items for their store as well as in-game. And from what I can tell, they have a smaller team that handles LOTRO and DDO. If LOTRO's team can churn out good size expacs, but somehow an MMO that has one of the BIGGEST IPs attached to it cannot...then that's a failure on the devs and people working on the game. Period.
  14. I still stand by the fact that SWTOR will go the same way as Rift did when Rift got moved to Gamingo. In no way am I trying to be rude or negative...just the tone so far as been as such.
  15. Lag is still there to a degree, but nearly as bad as it used to be. They have already addressed some of it! And the new River Hobbit addition has been badass...Umbar expac this fall!
  16. I think sometimes my irritation at how bad this game has fumbled shows way too much in my posts. I do apologize Dasty, I know almost everyone playing are not naive lemmings I've just always wanted a real SW MMO like what we had with SWG and it's failed overall. I wanted this game to succeed so damn bad...to be as big as FFXIV and WoW. It easily could have and it just fell flat time after time of mismanagement. I may sound "Irritated and mad" but it's from the view of: Come on... this is SW, I know this game can be HUGE...and when I see it not, then that happens haha!
  17. I totally agree. The fact that it is still limping along (despite the white knighting that happens here) does attest to how strong the IP is. Which is why I said it should have either toppled or be kneck and kneck with WoW with how strong the IP is. The fact that it isn't just shows how bad the decisions the devs have made over...and over...and over. And totally agree with @TrixxieTriss I think somewhere it was rumored they used the beta version because it was free and the makers of the engine were looking for people to "Test" it. With it being EA/BW I would not be surprised at that rumor in the slightest. Unreal would have def been my preferred engine, or yeah Unity. Unity has been looking EXTREMELY good lately. ESO was originally crafted on the Hero engine (Not beta just an early version) then scrapped and remade on an in-house engine.
  18. That "well known" IP has been squandered here. There is absolutely ZERO reason why SWTOR shouldn't have dominated WoW, or come in very close second with the IP it has.
  19. With how many let downs Keith and former BW now turned Broadsword devs have done, I don't blame him for not believing them. Hell, I don't believe a word that comes out of the CMs or Devs mouths these days with how many failed things and broken promises that have been had. It's like in GoW: Ragnarok where Mimir described Odin to Kratos when he appeared "If he tells you the snow is white, he's lying." I would have to see continuous posts and fulfilled promises and roadmaps before I would trust em again. Just simple as that. This goes for ANY game dev studio....but especially here.
  20. LOTRO just dropped U37 which included a new race: River Hobbits! In addition to this new housing area, stat squish and class changes. So far it's looking really good. In addition to that, new expac hits this Fall/Winter to include the following: - New raids and instances - New class (Mariner) - Expanded story with roughly 150+ quests - New deeds for all classes - Level cap increase - New Biomes as well due to the new expac Less staff than Bioware as well and they somehow manage to put out huge expacs yearly w/ decent size updates. Who would have thought...
  21. I've already said this at least once.... this is how Rift started when it switched hands from Trion to Gamingo just sans Trion going under. Moved to Gamingo and was told moving to Cloud servers---> Done Was told new patches and such would happen: Denied Staff was let go about roughly six months after the transition. Now they are more or less radio silence with almost no communication...at all. Servers go down sometimes for a day or so before being acknowledged. Hell, I think Gamingo even forgets Rift is there. Not saying this is what will happen to SWTOR... but so far every step Rift has taken since being transferred to Gamingo is happening here with SWTOR moving to Broadsword. If I'm right, I hate to say it...but I told ya'll huffing that Copium. Some people just like trying to ice skate uphill.
  22. From then till now, only Keith has said something really and that was due to the leak of them moving studios. Since then it's been radio silence. Like I said in another thread this is 100% reminding me of how Rift was handed off from Trion to Gamingo. Spoiler alert: It did NOT end well. The game is basically maintenance mode and dead except for a few whales.
  23. LOTRO has more of a player base than SWTOR at this point...and that game is older than SWTOR. Still pushing out new races, classes and content. Hell, next expac for LOTRO "Umbar" is coming out end of this year. I wanted SWTOR to succeed so damn bad and yet somehow it has floundered. One the biggest IPs in history is being squandered. No matter how many White Knights on this forum coming to the defense of this game.. this game has failed. Plain and simple. At this point, just give me a new SW MMO. I want to be able to log in and feel like I am playing in an open world set in the SW universe. This game gives none of that. The reason I sound salty and upset is because I KNOW this game could have succeeded. If there was anything that could topple WoW with an IP, it should have been SWTOR... and it made me so upset to not see it done.
  24. Something similar happened in Rift when it got shifted over to Gamingo. Some of the devs and such went over to "Transition" the game. Then about six months later all of the devs were and such were let go. I think only the CM was left...which then cycled to four different CMs within a year or so. Now Rift I think has no official CM and the forums were removed...everything is done via Discord and Twitter now. They have it on full maintenance mode and even then servers randomly go down for a day without acknowledgement and then come back up. Festivals are on autotimer to start. I say this in the most respectful way but that's how I see SWTOR going: Once 7.4 is out they work shift it to maintenance mode. For hitting the copium and such, I commend you and know the feeling all too well (I did it with Wildstar) but when a game is shifted from one company to another and dev team is slashed in roughly half...with really no announcement so far from the new company besides a post or two from the CMs... it's done. I'll die on that hill. Edit: Another thing just occurred to me is this: If this was going to breathe new life into the game I assume Broadsword would have wanted to really show case it and say "Hey, we are going to dig in and make this game relevant again". Some type of advertisement to it saying it's not going away, but will get better! Only reason we found out about the transition was because it was leaked, and at that point they were behind the 8-ball on it.
  25. This is honestly starting to feel a lot like how Rift started when it got over to Gamingo in regards to talking to the community and such. Beyond the random couple of posts from Jackie and co. Needless to say, Rift has been forgotten and just left to rot. I would hate to see that happen with SWTOR but... I'm not confident with it.
