  1. Scoundrel scrapper is what I'm familiar with and their strength is pvp. Gunslinger is strong pve but very difficult to play pvp because a huge part of their dps comes from cover and from what I've experienced in playing both - my gunslinger in particular - it is very rare that you will be left alone and in most cases you will have to be constantly on the move which will affect your dps. my gunslinger easily outdamages my scrapper in pve. (until my subscription runs out next month)
  2. the quests get old - yeah, talking npc's telling me to go kill x of this mob instead of reading it. patches have screwed my smuggler so hes unplayable and therefore not enjoyable. no endgame - zero. no incentive to group up with other players - which is good because starting at lvl 40 there was nobody else around to even group up with unless Hoth was supposed to make me feel like I was the only person on the whole planet - guess what? I actually was............ pvp - not balanced, unless you roll a sith sorcerer like every other 2nd player. developers have no clue which is surprising considering all the data they could obtain from wow. but theres a silver lining - instead of spending 2 months or 6months or a year paying for this game, I only spent one month and my subscription ends at the beginning of march. p.s. - best bet is to make a class with the coolest looking ship because the space battles are the best thing about this game - yeah, thats right - a minigame where you control your ship and shoot with the same hand is the best part of the whole game. At least you can use the other hand to hold the very strong alcoholic drink you need to enjoy the rest of the game you have to play to grind for money to upgrade your ship for the minigame.
  3. Dude! wrong forum - sith inquisitor/sorcerer subforum is that way ------->
  4. my account with my smuggler is going to turn off next month. don't feel like putting up with the problems and there are other games I can enjoy that aren't made by bioware. snip of an email they sent out: We value you as a customer and we're sorry to see you go. Your opinion is very important to us, as we are committed to continually improving the game and addressing your concerns. We'd appreciate it if you would take a short survey and tell us about your experience and let us know what we can do to bring you back into the game. Remember, your account and any characters you have created will not be deleted. We hope to see you back in the game soon. Sincerely, The Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Community Team
  5. Been trying it for a few days and dislike it because energy goes down too fast.
  6. I'm currently 44 and I've had huge problems as a scrapper taking on groups of mobs PvE specifically more than one. I take too much damage for the now long fights since my damage has been halved. I've tried dirty fighting and I can't seem to find a decent rotation because my energy goes down very quickly. I thought about leveling up an alt but theres 2 problems - I hate coruscant and taris because theyre boring as hell and when I do warzones as Sith all I get are Huttball - you know how annoying it is to play Huttball 10 times in a row? Will most likely unsubscribe on my day off tomorrow and let my current month run out and not renew. Plenty of other games to play. Battlefield 3, Diablo Beta, Skyrim, Arkham City, Deus Ex and Mass Effect 3 in a month or so. EDIT: just decided - will not be resubscribing after reading latest 1.1.2 notes. Everybody else gets a damage buff, scoundrels/ops dont get ****. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=260938
  7. Constructive feedback for Bioware - as a point going forward whenever you 'adjust' a class such as the recent changes to scoundrels and operatives my recommendation is to allow a free respec within the same advanced class. I.E. "we reset your skill points so you can possibly redistribute them since we ...blah blah." It is known as "customer service" and all good and successful businesses/organizations are familiar with it.
  8. I hear what you're saying and I see how it was actually a 'change' in our tactics as we just pile on more stuns to keep them locked down longer but you can rest assured that if Bioware had problems with our initial 3 second stun they're definitely going to 'fix' this one as well. It is only a matter of time. Smuggler/Operative scrappers need to be redesigned.
  9. I've been on the receiving end of the stun and it really is infuriating - especially since I'm lvl 41. I understand the whining but I also see where a lot of our class mechanics are necessitated by the ability. Lets face it - without the huge openers and after the giant damage dump we're pretty much worthless. Devs should look into giving us more sustained dps.
  10. I play darkside - I enjoy it a lot more and its hilarious how the npcs get mad when I totally screw them over. Love them red blaster crystals as well, wouldn't have it any other way.
  11. the commercial impact for myself is that I'll play sith sorcerer and exploit it like hell until it gets nerfed.
  12. I've got a 40 scrapper and it has been fun but I feel the impending doom. I do pvp a lot and scrappers are late bloomers - that is around 36ish when you get shoot first then talent it out to knock the target on his face which allows you to toss in a backblast and a pistol whip before he gets up - this is the problem with pvp, people don't like when they cannot control their character. It has happened in other games and it has happened in this game and will most likely be nerfed. I of course have had the same done to me by operatives, other scoundrels and marauders - knock you on your face and youre forced to watch helplessly while your life goes down below half before you can get up again. I can see where its a problem, just not sure how the devs are going to fix it because all our damage is front loaded and tapers off dramatically after those few opening seconds. Outside of the opener with shoot first and backblast - our damage flat out drops off bigtime so you have to keep moving around waiting for backblast to refresh and keep hitting pistol whip. *shrug* I don't much more to say than that. I dont like the ship and Corso and Bowdaar are horrible as companions. Risha and Akaavi are far better.
  13. I don't get this disappointed - I've hit a few 'roadbumps' so to speak so what I do is go off and pvp and do other quests for a lvl and try to upgrade my gear and weapon and come back to a quest I'm stuck on and give it another shot. rinse and repeat if I still suck at it, I'll obliterate the mob eventually.
  14. bummer that scoundrel - scrappers are on the developer radar for negative changes along with imperial agents but it was going to happen sooner or later and better now so we can all get over it and deal with it because what we have here are all the flavor of the month players ruining it for the rest of us so hopefully they'll go pick a new flavor of the month after we get the hammer. (inquisitors are next)
