  1. Now that I think of it, this sounds very plausible to me - I recall that when I first got to fleet, I trained Synthweaving to RE some greens I had picked up questing Tython to get some rubat crystals, and then dropped it and trained Artifice and used them to make hilts; I usually do this with new characters when I want to get a jump on crafting.
  2. Any chances on an update as to where you devs are on this issue? Slated for a patch soon, hopefully? Please don't back-burner this issue, it's game-breaking for us die-hard crafters. Sheesh, I went nuts with the hyphens, sorry about that!
  3. I agree totally, this has been my observation as well, with 3 characters with UT, I often only find 1 in 3 that has a metal mission to run. When I am feeling like a little self torture, I run gift missions and as soon as one finishes, I sometimes get a metal mission in the remix.
  4. This is not entirely correct. Let me provide my details as an example: Class - Jedi Shadow Crew Skill - Artiface Lost Schematics - all RE'd focus and generator schematics I got a blue for, and Red Sharp Crystal, a schematic I purchased from the GTN and learned manually. I didnt even notice this problem until I lost Red Sharp Crystal, and since then have started to watch, which was when I noticed I lost the blue RE obtained schems. I have not changed crew skills and this character new from the time of F2P launch. I have a red sharp crystal I made before I lost it, and when I activate RE and hover over it, it shows that I cannot learn anything from RE-ing it. I havent seen this schematic again on the GTN, so Im not sure whether or not it shows that I still know the schematic or need to relearn it. Also, since the time I noticed these issues, I have also learned Blue, Green and Yellow Sharp Crystal from schematics purchased on the GTN. I will update if they disappear as well.
  5. Corso: YeeeeHAWWWW! Then I slide across the "hood" of my freighter and slip in through the cockpit window as we blast off with the Imps hot on our trail. You're picturing Boss Hog as a Hutt right now, aren't you ... And yes, Uncle Jesse is an old Jedi. Now I just need to find Risha some Daisy Dukes to wear! Seriously tho ... bouncin through the Coruscant Senate with this - with lyrics slightly modified: "Ol' Republic Loooooveee ...."
  6. I voted "It's terrible!" after several failed attempts to play today only to be driven off with headaches and nausea within 15 minutes each time. On a side note (and yea, flame on, trolls) - I love how so many of the "I love it" crowd seem to want to make out like those of us with this issue are anemic, pasty skinned 98 pound weaklings with the constitution of a sick kitten. I've served in the Army twice, raised 5 kids, now helping raise a grandchild, and had more stitches and broken bones at 12 than most people have in a lifetime ... pawpaw ain't no wuss. And yet the constant flashing makes me want to hurl. If you missed voting, vote like I did the second time ... with your wallet. They got 10 days to fix things before this old man finds something else to do with his spare time.
  7. floccinaucinihilipilification Yes, this is a real word, and no, its meaning isn't very positive, but I had to use it as I hadn't seen it pop up yet. For my actual one word, I would have to go with: hopeful
  8. I have to agree with the sentiments of the OP, and there is room to accommodate his wish - if you look at the companion character sheet, there is room for another customization item already. Just make that one a generic body type selector item and allow people to purchase one of 4 options to apply to your companion. Of course, a Maco with a type 4 body, or a Blizz for that matter, might be a little odd looking in-game.
  9. If by never recovered, you mean we haven't returned to the ridiculous abundance of disposable wealth we had in the system then, then yes, we haven't and hopefully never will again. Is the economy bleak right now? Oh yea, definitely. It was in the 70's too, and we survived. The poor got poorer, the rich got richer, blah blah blah ... makes for good angst-y pop song lyrics, but people moved the #$% on. But we digress from the OT - the sky isn't falling with the slicing nerf. I just checked the GTN and ya know what, people are selling stuff and people are buying stuff. I'd call that working as intended. Would I take slicing now and expect uber WTFPWND instant wealth? Nope. Would I take it (and/or keep it, as I have on my cybertech agent) for augments and mission discovery, and some supplemental income when I am out questing by gathering? Yep!
  10. You're being reactionary and impatient. The market was overly inflated due to the influx of quick slicing credits, and will initially go into a recession, but I am certain it will bounce back to a healthier level of trade in short order. And yes, I know I might sound like an economist (albeit one oversimplifying), but these patterns apply to the in-game economy just as well as they do in the real world. Remember the bubble popping on internet stocks? Same thing here. The only difference is that the devs saw the bubble and popped it themselves on their own terms and timeline before it got really bad. Don't stick your head in the sand just yet.
  11. You're doing it wrong - perhaps you should use your gathering skills to, say, I dunno ... GATHER, maybe? Insane idea but hey, it might work! Which, BTW is what slicing is, a gathering skill ... the mission part is to skill up quicker and to obtain augments, which is why it needed to be far less profitable to do so. I've tested it and with a little luck, you can still make money at it right from the credit boxes themselves, not to mention from selling augments and mission discoveries on the GTN. Slicing nerfed? No, slicing balanced. That is all.
