  1. Hopefully they will adjust this. Take it to the suggestion forums and steer clear of PvP for the time being, probably the only way to send the message.
  2. No idea where it came from, but I bought an orange techstaff (Yes TECHSTAFF, NOT Electrostaff) off the GTN today, slots normally with Barrel instead of hilt. I think they must have added them.
  3. Ouch. *winces* Those are all game killers for me, and I'm not even a hardcore PvPer. I'm a casual with two jobs, so it's easier for me some nights to log in and run a couple WZs for fun and profit: Get warzone coms, money and some exp for gearing myself and my companions rather than run all the way out to do PvE for the hour or so I can be on. I really hope they reconsider this heavy handed nerf.
  4. I feel kind of alienated by the free month, considering that I have slowly been meandering my way to a level 50 since launch (My highest is 45). Seems kind of odd to me to say "loyalty" could have been earned by rushing to 50 (which I am told can be done in less than two weeks if you spacebar through everything). You know, it's not even the fact that it's only 50's, it's the fact that they decided and stated that 50's were "our most valuable/loyal players." I'd have preferred they'd have given it to players who were subbed non-stop since launch, even though I personally would not have qualified because I was un-subbed for a week in February. I have played slow because I enjoyed the gameplay. I feel particularly bad for the peeps who started on new servers, either to play with friends or because they felt their server was underpopulated, they REALLY got the hose. My sub is up on the 22nd because I was going to switch payment cards...I think I'll keep it that way for the time being. I have enough time left to clean up my account for hibernation. Really kind of disappointed. I'm sure I'll be back eventually if the game is still here, just not for awhile.
  5. Hadn't heard anything about it, but I guess if that's the case, I'm glad I cancelled for now, despite playing since pre-launch. My highest is 45 : /
  6. I will keep all that in mind, thank you!
  7. I was thinking of making a Sith Inq Twi'lek, but I have a couple questions: I once saw a Twi'lek with massive dark side corruption who was white-skinned. What color do you need to start with to get that due to corruption? Can Twi'leks never have hoods/hats? Thanks for the answers to these weird questions!
  8. Thanks for all the thoughts. I've had no luck (and I'm on an okay pop server) so far, but I will start asking around, thanks! *Oh, also I did do some searching around on the forums before I made this thread, I don't like to ask questions, so I like to use the search function to avoid repeating what someone else has already asked. Searching "Torian" or "Techstaff" or whatever got me a ton of threads, few if none were relevant to my question, while trying to narrow them down netted me 0 relevant threads.
  9. You know, this bugs me too. I thought I was the only one...
  10. Aaaand I just found out that there are NO Modable Tech weapons (and none on the GTN). Suggestions?
  11. So, I see Torian Cadera uses Techstaffs, and I read somewhere he can use techblades as well. Jokes on me, because I can't find any anywhere. Where can I buy them, or an orange one I can mod? Don't tell me it's because he sucks and Bioware doesn't mean for me to use him in combat, I'm overleveled and I really don't care that much, but I would like to be able to upgrade his weaponry at least somewhat. Can he use something else easier to find?
  12. That may have been my issue. Thank you.
  13. Crafted a level 40 BOP speeder bike today...or...at least I thought I did. Set the crafting tasks, came back later...no bike, but I'm about 95% sure the mats were used up as they were a sizable chunk. I know crew can fail on missions, can they fail on crafting too? Kind of stinks if this is what happened, it was a lot of mats, but oh well. I'm just curious so I can TRY to avoid this in the future. Thanks.
  14. Thanks for all the thoughts, very helpful!
  15. I don't think it's wrong for guys to play female characters (or vise-versa), but I always found the "If I have to stare at someone's *** all day I want to stare at female *** pixels" to be a really weird, overcompensating for something kind of answer. I also find it kind of creepy. You could just say "I think the female characters look better than the male characters" and leave it at that. I'll admit that most of my characters are usually the same gender as myself, but not all, it depends on the character designs and possible roleplaying choices. Maybe I just play with a more mature class of players, but I've never been harassed in voice-chat because my RL gender is different from my avatar. In this game, the character designs, voice acting and romance options played a huge role in determining a few of my choices at present. I don't have an issue with people playing cross-gender, they do it for all kinds of reasons, I imagine...aesthetics (character design looks better on a certain gender/equipment looks better), roleplaying, story, whatever. Because they can. Because it is a game and it doesn't matter. My only peeve is with folks who play cross-gender characters and get pissed when you refer to them with terminology that reflects said gender (IE: Him, her, sir, ma'am, she, he etc), especially if we are on a roleplaying server together. I don't know why I have run into this so much throughout different mmo games. I am not a mind reader, I do not know, nor do I really care, what gender is sitting on the other side of your avatar's screen. Don't fly off the damn handle because someone refers to you (or if roleplaying, treats you) as the gender you present your avatar as. I'll admit this was more prevalent in WoW (although I've run across it at least once if not more in every game since the original EQ), and I'll consider the immaturity of the community as playing a factor there.
  16. Well, also, like I said I'm only 25, I am hoping it gets better, but I just haven't seen improvement yet and I'm concerned I'm missing something or doing something wrong.
  17. I guess without seeing my exact build you won't be able to give me much help, but I decided to go Merc -> Bodyguard (I'm about halfway into the tree) and am having a really tough go at it. Even with combat support cylinder on and shots maxed at 30, my healing output really stinks, especially compared to my Inq and Ops healers and I just get pummeled in PvP. I take massive amounts of damage, go down very quickly (even with the shield up) and cannot keep myself or others up. It's possible I'm just terrible at it, but I haven't had nearly as much trouble on my other two healers. I'm over leveled for PvE, so I can't really say I'm having huge problems there. Before I give up and respec to DPS on this character, does anyone want to give me some tips? Is there something really obvious I am failing to do? Are there specific traits in the bodyguard tree (or other trees) I should have taken?
  18. I have this same issue when playing SI and Khem Val.
  19. Yeah, I think my 2nd month sub is up on Wednesday, and I am considering taking an extended break. This isn't the primary reason I am considering it, but it's one of several small things that bug me about the game. My real-life gender/sexuality really has nothing to do with my irritation at the lack of (expected in a bioware game) s/s relationships, but as a person who plays for storytelling and character development, not being able to play my character the way I want to is troublesome addition to my list of concerns. The game is fun and all, I really love the story aspect (nothing else about the game breaks the MMO mold though) but I've heard the "We know how important X is to you, so we will be implementing it at a future date" and canned response song and dance before, all the way back to the original EQ. Without a plan, without some kind of information, it truly IS just words being played to keep people paying with the "Hope" of seeing what they want implemented soon, when it is more likely to be latter than sooner, if at all. That is a huge turnoff for me from MMO companies. Secret World is coming out this summer, which I am really looking forward to for the themes of the game and the classless system. If BW hasn't come up with some really interesting hook to draw me back by then, I'm not really sure I'll be back anytime soon, but I guess we'll see.
  20. I play on Adraas and see a lot of RP and organized events, but I hear there is great roleplay on Ebon Hawk and Sanctum of the Exalted (I think?) as well, so yeah, play where you want, and failing that, play on the server you can get the names you want. last I checked they all have pretty similar que times when there is a que. Like what the poster above me said, I won't claim to be completely unbiased on wanting to get more RPers on "my" server the same as anyone touting a certain server, but I'm fairly sure you'll find a fun experience no matter where you go, especially at this point. I occasionally LARP as well, and despite the fact that it is very newbie friendly and less "clique-y" than most I've been to, this tends to be a problem there as well, my big suggestion for anyone looking for "good" roleplay (or any at all) is to be pro-active, and that means more than going on a server and asking if there is roleplay, sometimes you have to give to receive...try interacting with someone in-character and see what you get. And I mean more than moping around in a cantina posing actions/thoughts and hoping someone notices and interacts with you, I mean actually interact with IC them via dialog. The most common complaint of "there is no roleplay" is frequently from people who don't make the attempt to break into interactions. You can't complain about not being involved if you never try to get involved. Roleplay is a group effort...the other players aren't there to amuse you (even if they do), you have to try to get involved. Avoid creating "loner" characters or those who are so violent or anti-social that it is hard for other players to interact with them. Just my opinion.
  21. Hello! I'm a Landy. I rolled Sith on Lord Adrass, but I may play Republic on Sanctum. Having had a decent amount of play experience with MMO RP servers, I'm pretty convinced that nothing will ever top Landroval community and roleplay.
  22. Is "Acolyte" Sith Warrior only?
  23. It's part of a game mechanic, everyone will pick one. Last I heard they had to be universally unique, but I am hoping this has since changed and it is now by server.
