  1. That sounds like a typo in the tooltip as blue crystals are locked to Light Side alignments, not Dark. Also, your companion has the same alignment as you so it will show neutral in the character screen but they are locked to the same alignment items you are.

    Legacy

All of your characters have access to the Legacy and contribute to Legacy XP gains no matter whether they were created before or after you unlocked your Legacy.
  3. General Discussion -> Suggestion Box
  4. Yes, I can confirm that it affects your Legacy XP gains after 50.

  6. Your companions have the same alignment as you so yes, you'd have to get something a DS character can use.
  7. An interrupt is an ability you have that will interrupt a mob or other player's ability cast. Usually in the form of a stun or a kick or something. For example, my Jedi Knight has the ability "Force Kick." When I'm fighting a mob, particularly a higher level one or an elite, that's casting an ability, like "Full Auto", I can hit my Force Kick and my toon will kick the mob, interrupting the cast and causing them to stop casting it. Almost every class has an interrupt of some sort and in many cases there are other abilities that will also force an interrupt like Force Stasis, a talented Aim Shot for Gunslingers, etc. Read through your tooltips, your actual interrupt ability will say something like "interrupt enemy casts" or similar. If you have other abilities that do a knockback or somehow prevent the enemy from performing actions, those will also usually act as an interrupt by physically stopping the enemy from completing their cast.
  8. Social points come from conversations only. But in a flashpoint, you will get many more because there are a) more conversation chances and b) even when you lose a roll you'll get 4 (assuming a full group) and winning will give you 8 so they'll add up fast.
  9. Social gear is mostly to let you have the opportunity to get specific looks, especially iconic ones, and for that gear to actually be viable rather than something you can only wear when not questing/running operations/PvPing/etc. So if you want a specific look then yes, totally worth the investment. If you don't want the look, then, for you, it's not a good investment.

    Legacy

As most of the posts in this thread said, so far the only thing in the Legacy system is the name. More is coming in 1.2.
  11. Where in movie continuity does it state that Palpatine created the Grand Moff title just for Tarkin? Not in the movies I've watched. He's just... Grand Moff Tarkin and that's that.
  12. There's a Rep side Taris quest that doesn't really fit either one imo. But generally, you're right, they seem to fit one of the two types.
  13. Not what I said. I was pointing out that the other major MMO with a security key (that I have personal experience with) works the same way. Now, if there's some OTHER security key for an MMO out there that works differently, great. I don't personally know about it and am not going to make a comparison because I don't have the knowledge to do so. However, just because Blizzard did something doesn't mean it's bad, which seems to be what you're implying. Not everything they do is good but nor is it automatically bad either. And in the case of only allowing ONE authenticator which you then actually HAVE to use, well... this make sense in security. Multiple keys just means you now are that much more likely to lose one or have it stolen and hey presto, someone can now get into your account. Requiring it to be used? As I said, the point is to make sure it's you so it MAKES SENSE that it requires it to be used. This is a logical way for a security key to be enacted and yes, both Bioware and Blizzard do it. Probably because it makes sense.
  14. There's a quest on Coruscant that rewards a helm iirc. Can't recall exactly which one off the top of my head but I'd say keep questing, you'll find it.
  15. Ok, you're personally not worried about getting hacked. Good for you? Others of us, who btw ALSO practice all your safe browsing habits, would rather have that extra layer just to be safe. So why do you care if we want to use the security key (which is implemented logically other than the difficulty with removing/replacing it) and you don't want to use it?
  16. I like my security key and will continue to use it. As far as your items 1&2 are concerned... this is exactly how the Blizzard security key works so... sorry? Don't know what to tell you. You attach one it only makes sense to use it since the whole point is to make sure someone else isn't using your account. As for the issues with having to disconnect it via phone and such, I imagine those problems will get fixed eventually. Though, yes, I will grant that they're pretty irritating in the meantime for anyone who needs to detach a security key. Edit: As for the in-game vendor... they didn't even HAVE to give us that. I would imagine more things would get added later but given that it's just a vendor for some cosmetic perk stuff, why are you so annoyed that it only has a few items? It will never sell anything that would change the game because that would be unfair to people who don't have or can't get a security key. Same way the CE vendor is cosmetic items only, or even the social items vendor. They aren't going to give you some super awesome item or whatever just because you have a security key, it's just a perk.
  17. As far as I understand it (haven't lvled a Sith to 50 yet so I could be wrong), the Darth name is a purely gameplay mechanic. NPCs may use it to refer to/address your toon, and you will get a Darth title but the game does not make you actually change your character name. Your character is still your character, they just ALSO have a Darth name. Anakin Skywalker didn't magically stop being Anakin Skywalker, he just ALSO became Darth Vader, which was also the name he preferred to go by. However, Emperor Palpatine did not go by his Darth name, he was always Palpatine.
  18. Like that one. Thanks. I was too lazy to open another tab and pull it up myself.
  19. There's definitely an overall chronological order to the books. But yes, within the overall series there are several mini series such as the Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn (very awesome, highly recommend), the Jedi Academy Trilogy by Kevin J Anderson, the New Jedi Order by various authors, etc. You should be able to find a good chronological list of the books online, probably on wookieepedia if you're interested in reading them in that sort of order. Fair warning, some of the books are amazing. Some are really really bad.
  20. Fair enough. It's very possible that this is the case in other games or on other servers in TOR. Mine may be an exception, I couldn't say positively one way or another.
  21. I always just kind of figure that well... it's the Sith Empire... and Palpatine is a Sith... ergo, he opts to use the same emblems that have apparently been part of Sith culture for millenia. Makes sense to me. Also, on wookieepedia there's whole articles about the symbols and why people use them. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Bendu There's more but this is the most applicable article.
  22. To be fair, at least on my RP-PvE server, there's actually not a lot of open-world RP going on (yet). Most of the server -doesn't- participate in RP, at least not out in the world, and no one "frowns down" on us that don't or that only RP within our guild etc. The other nice thing about RP servers is, people tend to be somewhat more mature and there's less stupid character names. Not that it prevents it entirely but it's been my experience that this is the trend.
  23. Yeah, rec lvl for them will be 50 but you will get them sooner. I meant lvl 50 quest in the sense of "quests you get at lvl 50", sorry about the confusion.
  24. Pretty sure Impossible Sector becomes available when your character reaches lvl 48. There are no lvl 50 space missions in the game right now.
  25. You're probably over-leveled for some of the missions. When you accept them from the terminal the names will be color-coded, if the name is grey you are over-level and will only gain 5xp from completing it.
