  1. Gosh before I unsubscribe I better scratch out a long-winded post to submit before a ton of anonymous people no one will actually read. Do people actually think before they start these threads? What's the point of this? I'm sure unsubscribing has a comments section so really why do this?
  2. The OP is trolling but a lot of people are agreeing with him which is scary.
  3. People sure do love to agree with any whine about the community without reading any of the content in the post. Stopping to force the team to chat for 15 minutes about whatever comes to the OP's head. Seriously? You whine about "immature" players or whatever but then can't read a few paragraphs to see something is wrong with this thread. He's either being sarcastic or trolling.
  4. Either you're trolling or...I don't even know what. I would quit the group too and I'm not anti-social or unfriendly. What the hell, man. You have got to be kidding. I can't believe anyone is even agreeing, they must not be reading past the first sentence.
  5. Yes. I don't start a new MMO just to quit it after the first month. I'm going to enjoy the ride and see where it goes in a year. I don't understand anyone who buys an MMO without being ready to give it at least a year. Even though there are those who just purchase every new game and leave when the free month is up...
  6. Give us a baby game, don't let anything kill us unless we want it to or we will cry. Waaah WAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!

Oh look how low those prices are for something SO rare. This!
  8. No it doesn't mean the same thing. The only MMO that had a limited collector's edition was WoW and that was only the first one. If it's not limited then it will continue to be made.
  9. The other modes are very fun, it's just Hutt Ball that makes a lot of us want to pull our hair out. Being expected to find the right target and pass the ball with 3+ enemies on you is frustrating. Then getting berated by some mouth breather on your team after you die with the ball is infuriating. Other than that I like the pvp in this game(though I find Smugglers take a lot more work than other classes...and I just so happened to choose that without thinking it through).
  10. Work on your trolling skills, you're really bad at it. Full servers with queues from head start to launch and days past yet you claim the game is declining before the free month is up...really.
  11. Want to know how I know that chart is full of it? It's claiming that Second Life is first an MMORPG(which is a joke) and second one of the most played MMORPGs on the market in 2011. Fire up Second Life, they tell you how many people are online in each zone(and yes it uses zones). You won't see more than 30 people in any given area and most areas that aren't listed(which makes up the majority of them) have no people. At best at any given time of the day there are only 1000 people on and that's being very generous. People pull numbers out of their butts and claim that's how many active users there are. If anything that person is just recording how many people have ever logged into said games or chatroom in Second Life's case. Even then to claim less have logged into actual games than Second Life is a total joke given the fact that hardly anyone even uses Second Life...fire it up and see for yourself.
  12. I wasn't even aware most people played SWG beyond the first month. Where did all these SWG fans come from? Wasn't the game they cancelled subs from and let die from disinterest. So many "sandbox" games they aren't playing yet they want a "sandbox"...lol.
  13. Funny how none of those numbers are true, especially WoW which is known to skew numbers. Most of these companies don't even list numbers so claiming to know how many players UO had in 1999 is ridiculous. The only fact is we know it didn't come close to EQ, it is fact that EQ was the first widely commercial MMO success. Before that most gamers didn't even know what an MMO was. Anyone can make up numbers, there's no point throwing them around. What is a fact is that EQ a themepark killed UO a sandbox. And if you want to play with numbers most Asian free to play MMOs kill WoW.
  14. Pulling fake numbers out of your butt doesn't make them factual data. A game still running doesn't make it a success. Graal Online is still running when at most it pulls a few hundred players most of whom aren't paying. Get real.
  15. Sorry but I played UO and it couldn't possbily handle more than 10k people online at any given time. It would've crashed constantly. UO never had anywhere near 100k subscribers. In fact at it's peak it was new and exciting technology that hardly any gamers even knew about. EQ spread because it actually had some appeal to the tiny niche back then. MMO gaming was so insignificant in UO's time that it's ridiculous to claim they ever had even 100k active subs at any given time. 100k peaks interest from developers, if UO pulled those numbers there would've been far more than just EQ on the market. Eve wasn't successful, Eve really isn't even a game, and you're hilariously mad over nothing. Chill out.
  16. And how exactly do you "do it right" in Second Life? You aren't actually saying anything. Tell me what you do in Second Life and if you're somehow turning it into an amazing sandbox MMO then what are you doing here? Bold replies.
  17. Yes the game killed by Everquest and long forgotten due to it being so outdated. UO never had a massive playerbase, EQ was the first to have hundreds of thousands of subscribers which was huge at the time. UO was never anywhere near that scale. Try again. EQ was everything people say negative about this game yet it crippled UO and surpassed it.
  18. Eve can hardly even been called a game. You sit and watch your ship animate, then you go to a chatroom where you can buy, trade, and sell. Are you serious right now? That's the kind of game you want this to be? Even doesn't even have avatars to represent your character, you can't go anywhere, or do anything. I can't take anyone talking about Eve and hailing it as an amazing "sandbox" MMO seriously.
  19. Second Life is not an MMO at all. It's a graphical chat. I've been following projects like that one since Active Worlds(and a few before it). Second Life was actually more successful when it focused on the fact that it was just a chatroom, now that they've poorly attempted to turn it into a "world" it's even less frequented than ever before. That said back to my original point it has NO elements of an MMO, it's not an MMO, not even close to one. Sure you can script some cool things, that doesn't make it a game...at all. Even the so called "games" people have made within it are terrible, clunky, and nothing any gamer would actually consider playing it. If it was like you say then you'd be playing it right now and not looking for a new game. Second Life is a joke only taken seriously by pervs living out creepy fetishes and shut ins living out fantasy lives rather than achieving them irl. And well I said from the beginning that I think using the term sandbox is stupid so I'm not looking for one...making your last part of your post seem rather off-topic.
  20. What are you basing this on? No "sandbox" games like you're describing even exist. If it did you'd be playing it. You're just theorizing and expecting a company to go along with it.
  21. Nice list of sandbox MMOs you've got there...oh wait.
  22. It's hilarious that random gamers have taken to constantly using the term "sandbox" when there are no successful "sandbox" games on the market and never have been. If you want one so bad then you make it, you take the risk, and you enjoy the supposed wealth that will come from it. Put up or shut up. High end companies are not going to risk making some "sandbox" game when none before have succeeded even a little. Eve is neither successful nor sandbox. It's an empty void with spaceships to continuously craft in for no reason, no avatars, and no planets to land on. Give me a break.
  23. I can't see you so you don't exist either.
