  1. 1) I'd like to see where you're getting these statistics. 2) Don't quote numerical statistics and then say numbers don't mean anything.
  2. I hope you're right, but in the meantime, I'm not spending the $1560 and change the next couple years while waiting for this game to become worth what I would have to spend on it.
  3. While I have my placed my own subscription to SWTOR aside for the time being, I have been checking up on the forums every couple of days for news on updates, advancements, and repairs. So far, I have given Bioware the benefit of the doubt that they are doing their best with forum crowd control, and I'm sure that reading many complaints can be discouraging, but I found one in particular a bit --- surprising to say the least. Reading a few general threads, and responding to one, I came across a couple "Closed Thread" responses from a GM that alarmed me a little. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=148645&page=3 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=1322092#post1322092 Concerning the response, I feel the GM was completely in the right to discourage topics of irrelevancy, but I wouldn't consider this thread to be particularly harmful, or even unrelated. What concerned me were the specific reasons given - "Please be sure to create topics which encourage specific gameplay discussion and not general MMO discussion." , and "We ask that threads created in General Discussion be constructive conversation centered around the topic of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™. Since this thread is not constructive discussion and off that topic, we will be closing it." And the threads were closed. However, aspiring to be a successful MMO itself, would it be considered unfair to subject SWTOR to compare and contrast discussions? Especially alongside games players have had more opportunity to become more invested and familiar with over the years. I know many people feel 'A' MMO is better than 'B' MMO for list of 'C' reasons, and that's okay, but I fail to understand why the freedom to discuss such interests would be prohibited here? I'm not saying to make a thread dedicated to discussing World of Warcraft, Rift, Guild Wars, etc ... But bringing them up via relevancy in comparison to SWTOR isn't allowed? Despite the origin of the thread containing this response, as most of its contents could be discarded, I feel the specific reason for doing so was a bit unjust, and wonder if such a rule will apply to other comparison threads as well?

  5. I understand the frustration But it's not so bad. Every MMO is bound to have intervals where the "grind" can be necessary or beneficial even. It can get boring, but there are ways to break up the monotony a bit. Truth is, every game has a limit. It's just not the real world.. you know? And I mean that with all respect. Eventually everyone will hit the ceiling and run out of things to do because a game isn't really meant or able to perpetuate realistic growth. It's just an isolated environment of entertainment. One way to help with the feeling of mindless grinding is, quite frankly, taking a break and doing something else altogether for a little while. Games aren't meant to be played for hours and hours and even days on end. (Though it can be fun! Hehe.) Sometimes, when I'm not working, I just step back and read a book, exercise, or play a different game. Then go back when I feel refreshed. It really helps
  6. That was wonderful! I'm thankful to see someone taking a neutral and factual approach to things, with evidence to support it. And I agree with the OP 100% He's not bashing SWTOR, but rather pointing out the obstacles they're going to have to overcome to become a unique and successful game. I'm currently playing out my free time, but don't plan to subscribe beyond that until the game starts to feel more smooth and open. It's a complicated situation for everyone. I certainly wish Bioware the best of luck!
  7. I'm honestly not sure what I've said to make some people so angry. x__x I mean I'm sure plenty of people disagree with me, and I WAS looking for perspective. But, despite some wonderful positive feedback, most of the other responses were fueled with sheer defensive heat. Lol. Again - oh well!
  8. It's okay. I knew I was going to get several hateful responses. I don't mind Was just looking forward to trying something new and felt like offering open-ended critique when the game came up short for me. /shrug I feel I have a right to post my likes and dislikes on a forum, same as anyone has the right to disagree with me. ^_^ Honestly I'm just glad at least one person referred to me as "she" and not "he" >.< Lol. Since I am a girl IRL. Oh well! <3
  9. I never had any problems with the quests >_> <_< I was able to farm plenty of nice gear from the Flash Points, and then buy mods and other upgrades for myself and my companion from the commendation vendors. Overall I thought gearing in this game was incredibly simple compared to many other games I've played, and liked the concept of being able to upgrade my armor as I went along. Felt like that gave me more aesthetic options as well. Hell, I was even able to solo some of the Heroic 2+ areas if I played carefully enough.
  10. A little video fun for all the unhappy people on both sides of the SWTOR fence! ^_^ Relax! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPZOaPg1fqo College Humor - We Didn't Start the Flame War
  11. My favorite was picking the giant hulking body type 3 for my female Jedi Knight, and then hearing her speak in this dainty little voice when addressed by NPCs.
  12. Yes, I LOVED the storylines. It was always entertaining going through each class to see what they were like. Like you said, I just wish there was more to explore/do beyond them as well.
