  1. I have no played in ranked, or even got to 60 yet. STILL, even against the better players on my server, my merc is much improved. I think the good players will succeed, the bad ones will still be farmed. But now, the potential is there for ranked pvp.
  2. Its normal. You have weak PvE gear and more than likely those shadows have augmented top tier pvp gear. So you have little to no chance. Working as intended.
  3. I agree, i'd rather tweaks to what we have rather than a whole new system. Rapid shots seems the way to go for dissapating heat IMO. Pyromaniac's assault is just a fun idea i stole from WoW (spiritwalker's grace).
  4. After reading the dev tracker and seeing the issues they wish to address, i've thought of a few solutions while trying expand on suggestions already made. Drop Intergrated Cardio Package for something along the lines of: "1/2pts: Rapid shots now vents 3/6 heat everytime you use it to heal an ally or damage an enemy. (does not grant stacks of Combat support cylinder when used to attack enemy)." Dropping Jet Rebounder (c'mon devs, thats a useless talent and you know it) and replacing it with: Pyromaniac Assault: Power surge now lasts 10 seconds and allows you to cast while moving. If pyro shield is active, all abilities with a cast (not channel) costs are reduced 25%. Cooldown 2 mins. Boom. Heat management fixed while adding dps. DO NOT Give to PTs/vanguards. Mercs only. Thoughts?

  7. I'm not sure what the issue is. both groups are premade. if either team wanted a balanced team, maybe they should have made one.

    Heat is less of an issue, we got more defensive powers at the cost of a root break. Also slightly higher burst. SO far, so good

  11. Missle blast heat cost reduced to 16. Railshot refeshing ALL perioidic elemental damage on a target. Kolto Overload triggering at 35% and lasting 10 seconds once it triggers. Possible: Increasing Gyroscopic alignment jets to 12 heat vented instead of 8 and swapping its place in the tree with infrared sensors. Boom, Pyro tree is fixed. Note: Pyro is a DOT class. since we have like 5 of em. if u stack em right, the damage is there. If you don't, then thats a player issue, not a class issue.
  12. I've been here since beta. First toon was a Mercenary. We've been through tough times and good times. I LOVED my storyline. Most fun i've EVER had leveling a class for ANY game. That said, PvP is a weird creature. When u hit 36 leveling, its immensely fun for pvp from there on. Loved it. Awesome for PvE and raiding too. Once you hit 55, you hit a wall though.... Your a merc. Which means you have no good emergency "Oh snap" button so people will focus you first. Your also a stationary target (if Arsenal or Bodyguard) so melee has a fieldday with you 90% of the time. To be a good Merc PvPer will take a lot of determination and a high learning curve. Knowing what stats to look for in gear for optimum damage or healing, knowing when to run, positioning, and kiting is a major part of your survival. You can't go invis, AoE stun/mez, put up an invincible bubble or leap away. You must kill or be killed. It will be difficult. BUT, if you manage to make it, you will be freakin AWESOME. I am a pyro merc, and no class can beat me 1v1 unless i am heavily outgeared and that doesn't happen often. I burn down droves of enemy players while i run and laugh at them trying to catch me. Took a long damn time. If u want a class that takes a lot of patience and skill to be good at but is worth it, roll your merc. You wanna just roll a easier FOTM class, go ahead. When your class gets nerfed, expect to get focused tho.

  14. I support the notion of this thread, and applaud the creators. That Said.... Ranked 8v8 warzones were a mess and its not all the devs fault. We've all qued with pug groups who are at best moderately geared and prepared vs a team of geared, coordinated group of essentially pros. And then thats all we que against. Then we stop queing. The only viable solution is cross server ranked 8v8 with a gear AND role checking function to balance teams. Maybe even throw in personal ranking as well. I don't blame the developers for that because they aren't psychic like someone think they are. **** happens, only the people without jobs realize that you sometimes have to just roll with it and try to improve it as you go. Class imbalance is there. I remember when tracer missles rules the skies and everyone hated mercs. Its EXTREMELY difficult to balance this for PvE and PvP. I love the notion that developers are all powerful psychic wizards who are supposed to know every possible outcome in advance but its so freakin false. Yes it needs to be addressed. No, people shouldn't be so damned rude about it. All that said, I don't know if i should sign this. I've been in MMOs long enough to know NO GAME IS PERFECT. I enjoy SWTOR for all its elements, even if i classify myself as primarily a PvPer. (i don't raid unless i'm drunk). But i while voice my opinion and hope i am heard.
  15. Double power surge not good enough for you? Can't remember the last time TM got interupted unless i was badly outnumbered or REALLY intoxicated while playing. Save Power Surge for those situations and you should be fine.

  17. Look at the jug, if he has a bright blue aura or is glowing red with a shield then he is immune to effects. Knowing what ur opponent can do makes you more effective and less likely to waste electro net on an immune target. Other classes also have movement bonuses. hydraulic override is not the only pony in town. Your still have jetboost and rocketpunch to give u distance. time to start using them. I am a beta player but also returning due to the update. I find my merc very fun as well and thank the devs for addressing our lack of.....awesome? lol. I can kite and kill assassins where they used to be auto-loss. same with marauders and juggs. I'd suggest rolling any class u have trouble beating and learning how and why they are beating you so you can counter it. Merc is pretty beefcake these days, you should only lose to better players, not a particular class.
  18. I am a returning player. I played this game at beta and after the tracer missle nerf. i left around november of last year and am back now. Very pleased with my merc in pvp now. I have just hit lvl 55 so i have more to go as lowbie pvp is not max level pvp. However, it is the mechanics that have me impressed, not just big numbers. Previously, it was practically auto-loss versus assassins, dps juggs and maruaders. Not so much now. Even if we come with the stigma that we are easier to kill so we are often targeted first, we are not made to fight against 5 angry focused players. Adapt and over-come. Its possible. Carry on.
  19. I run the Arika(sp?) build My thrash hits for 1k per hit without critting. I haven't played deception since i leveled as it back when you could use adrenals and relics in WZs (oh how i miss the 700 power boosts). Madness is difficult to work because of all the things you have to manage but if you can, it pays off. atleast to me. Its similar to Operative concealment to me, If your not CC'ed you can control the fight and go 2v1. If not, well then your gunna eat dirt. What i love most about Sins is they have so many different ways they can be played successfully. Find what works for you.
  20. Ditto. Also i realized something. All the Repub/Imp classes are mirrored right? But there is ONE solid difference: Bounty Hunters have a Jetpack and Commandos don't. What do you do in that situation? Yeah, Bioware has a team of people on that same question right now. LOL
  21. This made me LoL. Roll a merc and get back to me. That aside, i am leveling an OP and i love it in PvP BUT lowbie pvp is far different than 50 pvp. Healing is fun and concealment is nasty, and a hybrid seems to work well at lvl 47 between the two specs but thats just me and my crazy playstyle.
  22. I think the sorc himself should stun on pop whether he pops it himself or it pops on damage. My problem is the sorc bubbling the whole team and they ALL stun one after another. Only the Sorcs' own bubble on himself should stun. That is all i ask.

  24. I take the 30% to armor instead of the force regen. It deffinetely makes a difference in longevity. Nothing is wrong with full madness for PvP. That root saves me from tough melee AND allows me to regen health more. Your success depends on how you use the tools you have.
  25. I am currently playing madness and i do 2/8/31 and have a blast. I think its important to not be seen and catch my target so i opt for Obsfucation. You are squishy if focused so becareful on that. 1 on 1 or even 2 on 1 you have to make very good use of your CCs but your damage is good and you have 30% to armor so go balls to the wall and keep your DoTs up. Find what you like though, I used to roll darkness till i found out i can smash their faces instead of just controlling them.
