  1. /cough works. I spam it endlessly. It's even different for all the classes!
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7RqU_Isw28 Watch this and download Radeon Pro. It makes the floors and other surfaces shine much better, plus, as you can see in the video, it makes trees and other objects look much sharper from a distance! Works very nicely, although be forewarned that some of the reflections don't actually reflect the world (pre-rendered). It won't be a Skyrim, but it's a nice improvement for those with ATI cards. I think there's a nVidia version out there, too. Not sure, though.
  3. I just got 7 days free for WoW. I logged in and was instantly bored, just like 10 months ago, when I quit. I might log in later to see if my old guildies are on, but the long list of friends all say 10+ months of inactivity.
  4. It's not a huge difference, but it's certainly very noticeable and worth mentioning!
  5. Ganadorf, why are you still around? Go away, and stop trolling. This community is far more constructive than WoW ever was, and it will only get better after the free month is up.
  6. I would have no qualms with sticking some of the themes from KOTOR 1 and 2 in there, and even from the movies. I'm sure John Williams wouldn't care if we threw in some of that background music that was ALWAYS playing during the movies. The soundtracks were HOURS long!
  7. YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES I HATE running around some BEAUTIFUL planet like Voss or Alderaan in DEAD silence except for some distant ambiance. Especially when the speeder sound cuts out, I'm just floating around not making any noise! This should also apply to loading screens, especially when loading the game for the first time. I love the epic intro music, but then it cuts out for some reason, and I have to listen to dead silence for 30+ seconds (yeah, I know, my hard drive must be crap or something).
  8. You, sir, need to stop your trolling. Pointless hours of running across miles of vast, often empty, terrain, is not "pure joy". At least SWTOR fills things up. Vanilla was even worse, and don't get me started on Hellfire Peninsula.
  9. WoW was great until they released the same game over and over again and called them "expansions." There's only so many ways to cast a shadow bolt.
  10. Who cares? There's a linear path in WoW, and every other damn MMO. We all ended up fighting Deathwing/Illidan/Arthas, etc. The actions you choose are about YOU, and what you want your character to be, not what the story will end up doing. It would take years to make an RL Stein "choose your own ending" thing, and then people would just end up doing every ending and they would come right back here complaining that there wasn't "enough content." Here's a hint: immerse yourself in your character and stop spacebar-ing through your class stories. When you're done, feel free to re-roll and repeat with another class, and just spacebar through all the side stuff, it's not that hard. I could play the game 8 times with that many classes, or even more if I wanted to see light-side, dark-side, or even neutral options. Most games all end up in the same place anyway, or at the very best there are 2 or 3 endings.
  11. Don't die and you won't deal with the timer. Good lord, how many times DID you die to get the timer that high?
  12. New content takes a month to implement, and a week for players to roll through it. Most people want to be the best and the first at everything in an MMO. If you're bored between Ops times, reroll and experience another story for yourself. At least you have that option, whereas in WoW you basically clicked through everything as fast as you could trying to reach 85.
