I disagree on the boring part, I have tried every advanced class on both sides and Sorcerer is the most fun (in my opinion). It could use a little more variety in the spell effects, but in no way is it boring.

I took Thrash and the auto-swing skill off my hotbar at level 10 when I selected Sorcerer. You need those slots for more important skills. My lightsaber is just a stat stick basically.

Nope, not in PvE anyway. Haven't tried PvP yet, but I assume that's the case there as well.

If I am reverse engineering to try and find schematics in Biochem, does it make a difference if the item is in a stack or by itself? Do I increase my odds at all if I split and do one at a time?

In reality? I'd probably stay neutral or join the Republic. In the game? Sith all the way, so much more fun to be evil in a fantasy/sci-fi setting. I am not, nor would I choose to be, evil in real life. So I choose to be evil in a game to let that side "out to play" so to speak. That being said, would also depend on where I was born. North Koreans didn't choose to be North Koreans, they were born there. And they are not bad people, just their government is. Germans were not bad people in WW2, the Nazi party was. If you lived in Germany, you had to go along with it or face the consequences (likely death). So if I was born on Korriban I'd probably be Sith. What choice would I have unless I'd rather die?

No, I tried. \ seems to be hardcoded into the game, cannot reassign it to another use.

Static Barrier. Does anyone know the damage absorption number for this ability? All the tooltip and Torhead say is "a high amount of damage" which really isn't that informative: Static Barrier Instant Force: 65 Range: 30m Surrounds the target in a lightning shield that lasts 30 seconds and absorbs a high amount of damage. Protected targets become deionized and cannot benefit from Static Barrier again for 20 seconds.

Assign Teamspeak to a different key and get used to it. I normally use \ for autorun in other MMOs, but here it brings up the help/ticket window. Have to adapt to the game, don't expect them to adapt to you, won't happen.

This is not a single player game. I actually like seeing other people in the areas I'm in and don't mind waiting for the respawns, which are generally fairly quick. Learn to invite to group and do it together, or wait your turn. Don't ask for more separating of people so it becomes more and more of a single player game, that will kill this thing entirely.

Ugh, this one drives me bananas. He is ALWAYS in my way. I'd love to ditch him, but it's kind of hard to level as a sorcerer with no companion lol.

I would say the Madness build posted in the sticky Codex is the best for leveling. Works very, very well. 31 Madness, 7 Lightning, 3 Corruption. Just make sure to pick up Electric Induction and Reserves in the Lightning tree first, then go all out Madness.

Just minimize chat in PvP

I really mean no offense here, but every time you die you have to click 2 (maybe 3) buttons. The sprint and your buffs. That being made to sound like it's too much work just baffles me. It's part of the "punishment" for death. Not that there is any real punishment for dying in this game.

Sometimes, simply relogging will make it come back. If not, a bit more drastic measure should fix it: - Press Ctrl + U twice to reset the UI. When the UI disappears briefly and the screen freezes press Alt F4 to exit the game. Log back in and those chats 'should' be working again. No guarantee, but works for many.

When you get to the top, good for you. You don't need to gloat however, why not be constructive and tell people what they are doing wrong/right and how to improve instead of calling them noobs. If you can't handle that or don't feel like it, then just stay quiet. Calling people noobs doesn't do anything but piss people off and create threads like this. Logic and respect for the win.

Agree with above. While we do have some really great community members and some very helpful people in-game, we also got some of the worst of the worst from that other MMO. The best community I have seen in any MMO is in LOTRO, far and away the most mature playerbase I have seen (until it went free to play, then slid away a bit). Hoping this clears up after the free 30 days is up and people have to start paying a monthly sub. There will always be idiots, just hoping the numbers lower.

Here's one example of why it should be a toggle. You have the skill and want to run around with a lower level who does not. You would want to turn it off so they can keep up with you.

1) The UI needs to be able to be moved and resized, ASAP. The bottom action bars are way too big, and I want to turn off the menu bar at the center top of the screen. 2) An LFG channel or even better way to find groups for Heroics/FPs/OPs. Gets old spamming general chat and seeing everyone else have to do it also. That's about it really.

You click it once and forget it, it's not like a buff you have to keep applying. Not seeing the issue here...

He says himself he's spamming it (his words) and before the other ability finishes. Pretty sure this is not how it was intended to be done. Sure, I'm a jerk, but it doesn't negate the truth. You need to wait for abilities to finish before you start pressing other keys or you will run into problems.
