  1. The best thing for the long term raiding population is to strongly encourage raiders to form guilds and create bond with other players. I can't imagine someone playing this game for years simply by PuGing raid content. what better way is there to draw people into joining guilds then to create a challenge that PuG's just can't cross? We have and always will have successful PuG groups doing raids but there is no reason that this is necessary for all content. That would only encourage people to try the new content and just end it there.
  2. If you have the entire raid decked out in rakata then you should probably start thinking about upping the difficulty a bit and shoot for the higher stuff. If they are still wiping hard on the bosses in story mode EC even after say a months release then I got some bad news for that raid.
  3. Are you suggesting that EC story mode should be nerfed so the PUG's can do it without concern? What is even the point to this idea? It's not about gear, any guild that is competent knows how to get new members gear. If it's to see the "story" then I suggest to go to youtube since the operation would no longer be a game anymore anyways. If it's to learn the mechanics then I think the fight is currently doing a pretty damn good job at teaching people what to look out for. PuG's can have EV, even KP if they work well together. EC is simply that step up that says "hey, work a bit more as a team and less as individual players!".
  4. Make sure everyone stays spread out during the fight as well since the poison is spreadable from one player to the other. I noticed that he does the spit before he actually jumps up and if everyone is gathered up then they all are ticking for damage through this whole phase. That extra damage makes it near impossible to heal through for the whole fight.
  5. I'm entertained! Guess it's just not the right game for you.
  6. Seriously Bioware! How am I suppose to kill more bosses without my Rakate Glove! It just can't be done!!! "I kid, I kid"
  7. you said it yourself: by limiting the drops, people will have an incentive to play longer which gives BW more time to release more content. This create the cycle of continuous play value that keeps a subscription base going. In lame mans terms "So bioware can get more money"
  8. Two hours to do a FP? We did all eight within 6 hours....The new one taking the longest. Also if you needed justification for the journey then you should stop playing video games and spend your life working on something else. No one is forcing you to play so stop acting like you deserve something for doing what others enjoy.
  9. Still healing, with only two complaints (one of which is not healing related). My guild still needs me and I still enjoy the play style.
  10. From Patch 1.2: "Loot drops from endgame activities, such as Operations and Flashpoints, now take group composition into account." It's not a guarantee but it does sway the loot tables into your favor. My guildmates and I ran all 8 HM's in a row with a group of 4 bounty hunters. Roughly 75% of the drops where bounty hunter loot. There was definitely an effect from only having bounty hunters but BW is definitely not gonna give a way to guarantee drops for any class.
  11. Me and my guild mates ran all 8 HM's one after the other last night. All 4 of us were bounty hunters and the drops were roughly 75% bounty hunter gear. I'd say that the only changes that were made is a slight sway in the loot tables drop rates depending on group composition.
  12. You've never had those moments where you join a FP group and recognize the healer as someone who, earlier that week, saved your *** numerous times in a WZ? Thus jokingly say "Oh, god..Not this guy ;-)" Maybe that DPS that you casually chatted with while leveling up is now asking for more people for a FP. Doesn't that run now sound a bit more entertaining then the rest? Even better! The scrub that your were grouped up with and wiped the group yesterday is now attempting to kill you in huttball. That can't help but bring s smile across your face when you get to beat down on him over and over. the point is that seeing familiar names is what makes the community a part of this game. The more x-server stuff is implemented and the more of this you will see fade away.
  13. I 100% agree with this. That nerf alone is what brings to question if popping the gas is even worth it any more. The rotation used when overcharged gas is up now must match the rotation when no gas is used (give or take maybe two additional heals). I'm still experimenting with the changes but the fun variation in rotation that was used in the past seems to no longer exist. Any deviations for what can keep you under the 40 heat level will have dire consequences in both the short and long run. But it's still early on and I have yet to find time to do out all the math so I have hope that there will be still be gains from the 8 heat reduction.
  14. I still don't see what the big deal is.... PvP pre 1.2 -> 500k+ healing in WZ's, matches became mostly a gain up on the healer and see which team was succesful. PvP post 1.2 -> 300k-400K, people were capable of dying more easily and variety to strategies were made. PvP is much more healthy with these changes. It may be stressful on healers but all I had to do was find a tank and learn how to cleanse the trauma debuff and my heals were just fine. Healers can still be THE determining factor on who wins PvP matches as long as they know what they are doing. PvE pre 1.2 -> Was capable of not only keep the raid topped off, but also damaging the boss with relatively high amounts of damage (for a healer). PvE post 1.2 -> consistent heals across the raid easily keep people topped untill people make mistakes. More mistakes and the lower health bars will be across the board. Hmmm, strange how the obligation to avoid damage within raids suddenly becomes an aspect to raiding. The next time you look at the list of health bars and notice they are all at relatively half health, don't think "wow...my healing sucks". Instead you need to say "Stop taking damage you lazy *** DPS!!!!". I guarantee that if the raid avoids uneccesary damage like the should have been before, then healing the health bars will stay full. Good healing should not overcompensate for lack of other players skills! It's that kind of mantra that will lead this game to the dark side....
  15. I believe the Sarlacc Pit is due up for a beating....
  16. lol, have you seen the thread with people complaining about the 1-month of free game time for level 50's? Priceless...
  17. It's only true for scrubs who never looked up what the new trauma debuff actually does to the players they are healing.
  18. you can't get unparalleled survivability and super heals at the same time, that's just wrong to even think about. Also the force doesn't give a damn about heavy armor so learn to live with it.
  19. I wonder how long it will take for the average gamer to realize that healing someone with the Trauma debuff is a stupid idea.
  20. let's see, crit chance does not effect the size of the crit. Kolto missle was a sheild, also doesn't effect your size of heals. I'll give you the last 7% for sake of argument (keep in mind the gas is up at best 50% of the time) so my big crits of 5k PvE and 3.5k PvP - 7% = 4650 and 3260.... I hardly see the problem here, the reduction of heat management yes...but this?...... I'm simply looking at your original statement posted and strongly question what kind of tests you seem to be pulling here. Sounds more like spewing rage of the academically challenged just to get attention.
  21. Meh, BH need a good cleansing of the filth that played this class. I also like you complaint about smaller heals when the nerf was directed at resource management....
  22. Keep in mind that it took a mega-nerf to healing before BW caved and gave mercs a battle rez. Just imagine what it would take for them to be convinced we need an interrupt to be competitive. Be careful what you wish for...
  23. If life gives you lemons, Don't make lemonade! Get MAD! I don't want your damn lemons! What the hell are these?! I Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! WITH THE LEMONS! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that BURNS YOUR HOUSE DOWN! On that note: They think 600k healing in PvP is to much, fine! I'll take the nerf and do 700k....with rockets! You won't see me walking away from a challenge.
  24. This is the best advice I could give for PvP damage as a body guard. Crit/Surge Relic -> Supercharge gas -> Power shot spam for 15 sec. Your heat gen at the end of the 15 sec will be nearly nothing (I think 20 heat) and you can potentially kill 1-2 people in that time depending on how squishy the targets are. Throw in death from above either before or after Supercharge gas is going just for added bonus damage. 30 seconds later once you topped people near you off and rebuilt your stack, get your heat to zero and repeat the cycle.
