To be honest, I haven't tried doing that. I'm not even sure you'd be able to remove the security key if that section of the authorisation server isn't working. I have a couple of free accounts to play with, which don't have keys, and I was able to log in on both of those. Good to at least download the patch!

Problem relates to the security key. If you don't have a security key you should be able to log on ok.

My partner is going to let her subscription lapse for a while, and rather than have excess credit going into escrow will be sending it to me, but before that happens we'd like to know what the credit limit for preferred players is. Also is the playable toon limit still 8, or did that increase with KotET? Haven't found anything by searching the SWTOR site, the forums, or EA answers Thanks

There's a thread here about it, with a number of workarounds. Choose the one that works for you and stick with it.

Unfortunately this doesn't work for some people. I've being going through that process for years since SWTOR would often crash when exiting from a character, but since 5.0 the game crashes from the character select screen As I mentioned earlier, I now press Windows key in the character select screen to minimize the game, and then right-click on the SWTOR icon on taskbar & click Close Window.

I have this problem too, and my workaround is to log out of character, then press Windows key to minimize game. Right-click on SWTOR icon on taskbar & click Close (or Exit - I can't remember which).

You just need to be a subscriber. If you look at the pre-order rewards at http://www.swtor.com/eternal-throne/home that might make it a bit clearer.

I use a Steelseries Merc Stealth keyboard (or at least the buttons on the left side) and a WoW MMO mouse (also by Steelseries). They fit my hands and have enough programmable buttons for me to use - I can't use them all because my hands / fingers are too big and arthritis limits movement. Biggest problem now is that they're old bits of kit without any new drivers, so getting them to work can be a pain, and frequently requires me to reboot my PC.

Could be PayPal doing it. Some online retailers use PayPal for all their credit card sales, and I have been in the unhappy position of wanting to buy something for Euros and PayPal charging in dollars, so my transaction wanted to charge me exchange rates for Euro to Dollar and then Dollar to Euro.

I was able to go into my war camp to do the Guss recruitment quest without it actually triggering the final chapter. It looked like it wanted to as each time I transported into the war camp I had the icon as if I was in a conversation, but once I hit Esc I was able to move and do all the Guss visitations. Once I'd finished recruiting Guss, I had to go to the entrance of the war camp to trigger the Battle for Odessan, even though the quest said talk to Lana (which I couldn't do).

Yup, looks like a major "Oops" moment. Game client has updated and now I can't play.

If you are entering the correct password and are then sent an email for validation, it is probably because your IP address has changed. This could either be because your router has been rebooted or your ISP has changed it (BT in the UK changes the IP address quite frequently). It is unlikely to be a problem with your account or that you have been hacked - it is a standard security process that a lot of MMOs use. The easiest way to get around this is to use a security key.

It's account wide, so you can then use it for new characters.

This is a very useful option, but bear in mind that not all new hairstyles are available from the CM - at least one can only be bought from the appearance designer, Now this is good news. Looks like I'll have to create yet another toon soon

I couldn't live without spreadsheets for this game. Like Rantank I use LibreOffice. Close enough to Excel that I haven't had any problem adapting. One main spreadsheet has my 27 & my partner's 19 toons, with professions/levels, where they are in KotFE, or what planet if still on the original class stories. This also includes light / dark side alignment. KotFE decisions. Main companion, class/advance class/tree. Which Cartel Pack sets they store. I've got another smaller spreadsheet on my iPad to keep track of money/comms and which weekly heroics they've done.

To be honest I don't think it does need to be better. With level sync giving me loot according to the level I am and not the level of the area, I've created a few new characters and been doing every single quest I can find. I've picked up a load of orange and purple stuff, and being a subscriber I also get cash boxes for some quest rewards. SWTOR already has some of the harshest restrictions for f2p so it's probably not a good idea to make it any worse.

Every item of clothing already has a primary colour and a secondary colour (as well as tertiary and more for the fancier stuff). That's how they made different colour versions of the same stuff. Making an overarching change to replace the original primary & secondary colours with those from a dye module would be relatively straightforward. It's simply replacing what is already there. It's not foolproof of course as can be seen it cut scenes. Weapons are different shapes and sizes, and they are adding another physical component to it, not simply changing what is already there. They have to make sure that it matches the original contours of the item its attached to. For every weapon they add a tuning slot to, they have to add the corresponding effect data to the tuning.

So not really much of an achievement then. Level sync now makes achievements achievements again.

The BH companion I'd really like to space is Torian. Even Skadge is a better companion than him.
