  1. This doesn't make sense from a business perspective. If people want to raid, why is there no MMO that makes it their main focus? Or I guess that's supposed to be Rift, too bad the rest of that game is bleh. The rest of your post is absolutely bang on though, WoW has had the same raid forever, their content release schedule is pretty close to SWToR's has been so far, and it'll have all the same annoying BS that made you leave to come here in the first place, if you happened to do that (addon clownshoesry, 10 vs 25 mans, bored in general with azeroth, etc)
  2. Don't hate too hard on the guy's progression now. Congrats on your new kill CitizenFry
  3. They won't move the items, the only thing CSR will help you with is giving you back the tabs you paid for. All the items need to be carried by characters as you xfer
  4. I don't understand these kinds of threads. If Rift's raiding is better, go play that until the ones here improve to your liking? Is this like a Public Service Announcement to people who haven't tried Rift before? In any case, SWTOR's raids have been getting better with each new release. Give it time.
  5. Reading these things makes me sad. RIP Planes of Power era 72 man massive zerg-raiding We run a small 16 man raiding roster, and find it to be a lot of fun. Haven't even bothered much with 8, cause I have more than 8 friends and wouldn't want them to have to sit out
  6. We've had the same experience. Only ever have problems on Story Mode, have never seen the untauntable issue on Hard Mode.
  7. This happens if Stormcaller is casting a Double Destruction, as Firebrand is pushed past the % thresh-hold to cast Defensive Systems. Stormcaller won't spawn the shields until a few seconds after Double Destruction is done. You will have to either beat that DD cast, or never push firebrand past the % instead of Stormcaller. We have an extra DPS on stormcallers side for this reason, and we just fix the balance when Stormcaller hits 10%
  8. On the contrary, having position be important is part of the fun of making a difficult raid encounter. If you're talking about story mode, yeah I would make that fearful range be only 20m there
  9. We've had the same issue. Sometimes a different class of battle rez can be used successfully (I try to use Operative rez and it fails, but Sorc one will work), other times not. It is quite frustrating.
  10. 2 Tanks 10 DPS 4 Healers Some fights we use 5 healers. Voss World boss needs 3 tanks
  11. BP in particular is bugged, every other flashpoint should be doable multiple times in one day
  12. I think I recall Georg mentioning that you should be able to add Augment slots to pre-existing gear without having to crit craft it in a later patch (1.3?). Being able to add these augments to Campaign set items would fix this problem
  13. Turning in the weekly quest in Corellia that involves doing a full set of dailies gives black hole commendations. Black Hole / Campaign gear is bought on the fleet with the other vendors that sell tionese, columi and rakata gear
  14. Missing platforms will happen if you call a wipe (or actually wipe) while doing the phase transition. To avoid it, we always called a wipe during an actual phase of the fight with a full platform, or if already triggered, we would tell whoever was left alive to do the platform phase and wait until soa appeared on the bottom floor before wiping. This has never caused the floor to bug out for us.
  15. You will go to http://mmo-mechanics.com/swtor/forums/ and look at benchmarks set by other players with similar advanced class / skill tree / gear level
  16. Proximity violations are also health percentage based, you can have all your melee run out before he gets pushed to the point he uses it, and they take no damage at all. As for Cannonade (the one shot mechanic you are referring to), if you have tank 2 begin the fight and dump as much threat as possible into the boss, then have tank 1 taunt before 92%, every time tank 1 gets knocked back, tank 2 will get the cannonade. Tank 1 immediately taunts when he gets back to the boss, and nobody else ever gets hit by cannonade the whole fight. At some point during the 90% missles group-up phase (if you group up), have tank 2 taunt, then tank 1 taunt right afterward to put tank 2 back in a spot on the threat list where he is quite far above the highest non tank in the threat list, but still below tank 1. Make sure both tanks don't get knocked back at the same time, so have one stand off to the side a bit. All of this is pretty basic aggro table stuff if you raided in EverQuest 1 between 2002 and 2006. Have fun!
  17. Leave them there. People who want the feeling of recognition that comes from having an uber title can get the new one from Explosive Conflict
  18. 4 bosses on a 3 month cycle is preferred vs 8 bosses on a 9-12 month cycle
  19. Nobody is going to wear this gear anyway, just find some orange items you like the look of (there has to be something), get it crit crafted for an augment slot, and take all the mods out of the raid gear and place it in your orange item set.
  20. Have tank 2 pull. Tank 2 is your tank with the bigger HP pool, and less overall avoidance. Tank 2 puts out as much aggro as humanly possible until the boss hits 95%. Then Tank 1 taunts. Both tanks do as much threat as possible. Tank 1 gets knocked back, Tank 2 gets every cannonade that happens post knockback. Tank 1 charges or runs back in and taunts as soon as he can. Tanks always get cannonade. Tank 1 will sometimes get hit by cannonade, as the boss will use cannonade at other times, but will always cast a cannonade after a shockwave + knockback combo. Finally, if a DPS happens to get cannonade with this system, then it is possible that the DPS has more threat than your second tank, but less than 130%, which would cause the boss to pull at range. There are some buggy things going on in this game, but I find that a lot of people are content with calling anything they can't figure out or find odd at first glance a "bug". Should probably stop doing that. Have fun!
  21. Disband and reform your raid. We had to do this yesterday after the pylons bugged out, due to having a 1turn solve at the top row. Even after a phase reset, we couldn't get the consoles to reset and trash to respawn. After disbanding and reforming raid with the same leader, we could then zone in and reclear to the active pylons.
  22. It might be hard to break the habits you've had for 50 levels of leveling up, but as a goal, you want all of your hotkeys to be usable with only your left hand (if right handed), and without moving that hand at all. You always want your other hand to be on your mouse, because movement in Operations is very important and the quickest and easiest way to move and turn is with your mouse. However you manage that is up to you, but I use 1-5, ZXCVFRQET, and alt and ctrl combos of all of those keys. Having keys on your numpad is not a good idea because you will need to either take your hand off the mouse, or move your other hand away from your abilities. At first you will feel disoriented, but once your get used to the muscle memory, this will make you a much better player. At that point all you need to do is learn the game, and play your best.
  23. If you think 16 mans are fun, you should run a 16. With that being said, SOA 16m Hard is probably easier than 8m Hard, because he casts spells that CC your raid, and smaller raid sizes are always more difficult when bosses do that whether through mind control or what haveyou. Start in EV though, definitely easier than Karagga's Palace
