  1. Now how about looking at actual bosses, a dummy parse absolutely nothing if it is not done in a raid. There are quite a few bosses where almost ALL specs and ALL classes perform really well. Not all but most. There are of course a few outliers and i am not saying the class balance is perfect but stop looking at dummy parses, they are stupid and only there to either stroke yourself OR better yet practice your class rotation.
  2. Is the Deathmark stealing back? I dunno if anyone else has noticed but it seems that both assassins and other Sorcerers are stealing Deathmarks from madness Sorcerers. Or did they not fix this issue, and nobody noticed since madness was just terrible in 3.0.
  3. They are bound to the character you buy them on when you put mod/armoring/enhancements/augments or when the the runs out
  4. you are right about Yavin, but for the most part a lot of old planets are not as "well" designed as Yavin,. I mean a lot of the nodes are far enough away from the mobs that it doesn't matter unless you walk right through them. However, a lot of the older planets had a lot of nodes on wall right behind mobs, esp city planets. Don't get me wrong i don't have a problem so long as it doesn't break the game. As per my idea of turning off mobs i was kinda being silly, and yeah would never really work in any MMO but it would be funny.
  5. You know that if you go anywhere near a mob at level the same level it pulls, a lot of time you simply cannot go around a mob. How about they just turn off all the mobs once you get to that planet instead so we can do what we need instead, if i am visiting a low level planet it is generally just to collect mats meaning i don't want every mob attacking me, so this means that this is now pretty much out of the question since every single mob will see me and attack, now if i could toggle off all mobs then fine i don't care if i am level 1 or 1 million but level scaling just gonna make some people lives more difficult. I don't hate the idea of level scaling but there is currently to much that actually having a high level character on a planet just makes way more sense.
  6. As far as i am aware we are not allowed to discus any non announced changes so even if there were crit changes and even it completely broke the game or it made it great we could discus it yet.
  7. Pretty sure they are addressing this in the upcoming 4.0 something about gf dropping better gear if it is the weekly one or something but as i see it there is no real reason to change it although it is kinda annoying to see 1 person to get muliple things sometimes. If bioware really wanted to address this they have a couple of ways. 1. Go with what they have now and add a personal loot system in where you can pay some sort of weekly commendation to roll in hopes of getting loot ala WoW has now or 2. Add a personal loot box at the end which can give anything from the current raid (money, deco, gear, pets) or 3. Have a weekly reward like they have now which awards something which you can choose kinda like the relics at the end of DP personally i dont really like anything but 2 since it has the chance to drop decorations but i kinda of see it getting annoying later on if you run a lot of gf ops. I like the system as it is even if there are some problems.
  8. everyone in range of the drouk gets it as far as i am aware not only the people who hit it, conversely anyone in range when he screams gets the debug that kills you if you didnt get the drouk buff so he must have hit it first and you killed it for him without realizing it. While not common happens from time to time
  9. Are you talking about HK-55 who is on the companions page because nowhere has bioware said HK-51 will be part of the story.
  10. Since most of the operations are outdoors and some operations have bad spawn points can we get the ability to use our speeders in all operations. I mean you can use speeders in black talon and that is all indoors but most operations are outdoors and you can't mount up.
  11. So no new OPs. What a waste of time. You want to focus on the story so instead of weaving OPs into the story and having new FPs you are recycling the old stuff we have done to death. Whoever though that not having a new OPs for this new expansion was a good idea should be fired. Quite frankly having done all the OPs and having gotten most of the achievement and finished them when they were current content, i do not want to have to do them again. Been there done that. We are looking for NEW challenge and NEW story not recycled stuff we have already done. If you cannot understand this then you guys at bioware have no idea what your players want. Now i don't mind the fact that you are bring the OPs and FPs up to 65 but having nothing else new means that once we have done the story we now have nothing to do. So congrats on screwing over both old players and new players.
  12. Is this the same team who kicked a 7/10 healers because the tank and other healer couldn't get out of mechanics?
  13. I dunno how "fair" it would be but they could implement some sort of scaling system based on the amount of members you have so that small guilds can compete with big ones without having to gather hundreds more people, however that doesn't fix the issue of teaming up and exploiting things.
  14. You never use a taunt to open with however after you have used some of your abilities to gain agro then you taunt. As you have said taunt is an agro multiplier so taunting first when you have 0 treat means 0*110% (or what ever the agro muliplier is) is 0. Basically you want to use your highest threat abilities as an opening rotation then taunt then move onto your normal rotation. However, depending on your group (if they significantly outgear you) you may find it harder to keep threat so make sure that you are guarding the highest DPSer (not the healer UNLESS they absolutely need it) and if your off tanking and wont be needed to taunt within the next 30secs or so you can also intercede (not sure what the jedi version is but it lowers threat) someone.
  15. Sorcs have what 2 attacks thrash and the standard saber attack and thats it. Nothing else is considered a Melee ability for a sorc. They are designed to be a pure Caster and therefor do not need the boost to melee. The difference with other classes is that Juggs and Mara half of there abilities are considered Melee and half are force based. Same can be said with snipers. Sorcerer is the only class with any real melee ability and does not need any. Before 2.0 a small arguement could be made because there was 1 or 2 extra filler melee abilities but now they don't exist and almost all sorcerers remove both the melee strikes from their task bars since you are playing a ranged caster and have no real ability to melee. And while a hate comparisons this is exactly like the Hunters in World of Warcraft. They had melee abilities and people thought that they were more useful than they were. Like the Sorc they are there for the early levels when you have barely any abilities and thats it after level 15 to 20 there is never any reason to use then again. In World of Warcraft they took out almost all of the Hunter melee abilities and it made it so people learnt that they had to kite and kill monsters from range (since at the time they still had the 5 meter no shooting zone) and it improved them. Personally i would like it if when choosing a sorcerer they replaced the melee skills with a force based ranged ability that way people would learn from level 10 that they don't ever need to go into melee. Sorcerers all get a decent force management tool in consumption and if in lightning spec you really shouldn't need to regen force. Also Sorcerers are very squishy and being hit by mobs esp in Hard Mode Flashpoints and Operations means death very quickly. So being far away is an advantage. Sorcerers are in a very weird spot from level 1 to 10 because they are a mix of both ranged and melee and when they choose their advanced class they then choose either melee or ranged, unlike most other classes in the game except the bounty hunter powertech/mercenary but a lot of abilities can be used for 30 meters so it doesn't make a difference.
  16. Since as a sorcerer you are a ranged DPS who should NEVER be using melee attack after you choose the Sorcerer advanced class it makes no difference. In fact it is much better that way as if people read it and realise they are not meant to use melee attack it is even better. I also believe it is designed that way as the advanced class gives the bonus not the base class.
  17. Some people just dont learn or even want to know how their class is played. This was back in 1.7 but i did a Directive 7 with a tank who did not taunt (when we asked him why he said that he didnt need to and that the healer(me) and the dps(2 pugs) needed to do less damage and use our threat droppers more). Of course everyone but the tank was in either 61 or 63 gear and we ended up pretty much ignoring him after the second boss but we completed it with him. However, today i meet a sorcerer who used nothing but force storm. Since i leveled a sorc while healing i watched his procs (the only ones he got were force effusion and lightning barrage(i think, the one which allows you to cast instant chain lightning) and tried to help him with his rotation. But alas he force stormed through all the bosses and adds without a care in the world. Incidentally this was also directive 7 (maybe i need to stop doing this FP) so when we got to the final boss and finished explaining it since neither of the DPS had done it before the sorc was happily force storming away and got targeted by the claw, first time i healed him through it and told him in chat to move out of it. The second time it happened and he didn't move i just stoped healing him, then rezed him after the fight was over. not the only weird people ive met, but the ones that have stood out so far
  18. I feel the pain. Today i did a lvl 50 hm Directive 7 and both the DPS hadn't done it before. Which is fine. When i asked it would have been nice if they had said they had not but whatever, the tank was lvl 55 and i was heal on my operative and both me and the tank have done it plenty of time before. So we explain the fights before hand, and while they go okay the sorcerer dps does nothing but use force storm....every single pull....even on bosses. He was at least part way up the lightning tree as i saw he had the force effusion and chain lightning proc, but all he used was force storm....Nothing Else. I asked him why and he didn't respond. After getting past the the second boss i asked him how he was speced and he said hybrid lightning/madness. Since i leveled a sorc in a similar hybrid i tried to help him with a rotation, but he refused and just kept using force storm. So once we got to the final boss and he just stood under the claw more than once instead of moving i just stopped healing him and dpsed and healed at the same time and rezed him at the end of the fight. I know that i can cc the claw when it comes down but i dunno if healing someone who wont move out of a big circle that is damaging you is worth healing especially since all he used was force storm.
  19. Since Bioware/EA claimed that they were improving my game-play experience i decided to log onto The Bastion, which is the server that my characters will be placed on since i am on Master D. Currently on Master D i get around 20-40 ping sitting on the fleet. A little more when doing raids and pvp but unless my internet is having problems i don't really go over 100. Well on my new server, sitting on the fleet gives me 300 ping and being on planet gives me around 400 and it is not stable with the ping constantly jumping to over 1000. I would love Bioware/EA to tell me how this improves my game-play experience. I know from previous experience on Warriors of Shadow before the mergers pvp was horrible and people would randomly change positions and i gave up on pvp till i moved onto the APAC servers. Please tell me how encouraging me not to participate in high end pvp/raiding improves my game-play experience when decisions must be made on the spot have a delay. I guess in the end it really doesn't matter since if they close the servers i will not be playing this game anymore.
  20. Add another to the people who will not be resubscribing. I play SW:TOR for the low ping on the Australian Servers. i have characters who never got transferred on the American Servers and while the population is high i find it much harder to play. I will now be looking for another MMO i guess. Simply put EA/Bioware didn't care enough about providing a good gaming experience and just want the fastest and cheapest way out. I also wish that they would not try and justify themselves by saying people will be giving up the way they play by merging the servers. Since open world pvp doesn't really happen except in the dailies areas most people couldn't care less. Since it appears that they replied i want to say this, we want a larger population yes put we don't mind having to wait a little. We want the Australian Servers and a lot of people on the Australian Servers play for that reason. If we wanted high population servers we would have already gone to the American Servers. If the Australian Servers are closed i for one will not continue playing this game after my subscription runs out and it appears so will many others. Simply the Australian Servers are costing more than the population is worth and it is cheaper and easier to close them.
  21. We had more than that, i believe we were at it for almost 2 hours and most of that was pulling people upto the datacron. However thanks to all that came and congrats to those who got their datacrons, you are now slightly more powerful .
