  1. This topic started at a world boss where my FPS dropped dramatically.

The question:  is SWTOR CPU or GPU intensive?

To get an optimal experience, should I invest in GPU or CPU upgrades?  Seems lowering the graphics setting to nothing really didn't help the FPS issue and many are saying the Swtor is really a CPU driven game.

Any advice or rig specs would be appreciated.

    What do the Devs use?

  2. Given the age of this game it would have been a smart move to remove all outdated posts. Posts referring to the "willpower" stat from 2013 for example.  Whenever I do a search for current information and tips I always have to sort through ancient data from old versions of the game that are no longer relevant.  It would also save room on your database.

  3. -REPORTED-

    No, I jest :p

But seriously, I see how it is a problem if the banning mechanism is automatic and not moderator controlled. But then you will always have a lazy mod who will ban based on the number of "reports" without looking into the content.

I'm here on SWTOR because of that very thing. I got banned by a lazy mod over at GW2. I had enough of it and quit the game. Their loss.

  4. I think just one re-do should be allowed.

I personally screwed up right out the gate thinking that the new system allowed for a hybrid mix of two classes. I was wrong. Basically it's just your one character being able to switch between two classes as if it were two different characters. No mixing of abilities.

Im stuck with my choice now.

Players can now separate their Class Story from gameplay style for an even greater customization experience. This frees up Advanced Class options as characters can choose any Advanced Class within the Tech or Force playstyle! Play as a Trooper wielding a Sniper Rifle, or a Sith Inquisitor with a lightsaber in each hand, or even secretly use Dark Side powers while posing as a member of the Jedi Order.

The wording can be very misleading.

  5. MMOs are a "numbers game" for many players. We crunch number, use spreadsheets and experiment with different values to get optimal results. Yes, for some of us "that" is part of the fun. However, I have yet to see an MMO that had a dedicated DPS/Heal window to show your results. It has always been left up to the 3rd part developers.

Well, 3rd party developers are fine but they never last as long as the game. You have to contend with updates, bugs and...just hoping the thing works right.

So with that, I suggest an in-game DPS/Heal meter. It doesn't have to be group visible if that is a concern, but just for personal use.

I think it best to get the data straight from the game, than have a third party program process any output or server data.
