You also can't use loadouts in groupfinder.

I just don't bother swapping for most content, utilities or tacticals, unless it's HM stuff (and MM fp don't really count as HM anymore) then there's no need for 'maximum' aoe.

I've been able to put Implants/Tacticals on Hotbars and swap them out without opening up any other screens.   You can only do one Implant because any swap always defaults to the Left most one.  This process can and should be refined IMO and should include Ability-Tree options.

What you've outlined takes a few seconds.

If you find a group has moved on to something else in that time, then maybe you actually don't need to switch back and forth.

This sounds more like a you problem than something the 5 people that still program SWTOR should spend time on.

"A you problem"  God forbid I should burden the SWTOR coders with a suggestion, after all they are busy fixing bugs....or not.

    Thanks for nothing.

    This already exists.

    It's called Loadouts.

Make one for single target, and another for aoe.

You kind'a missed my point. Changing Loadouts is a "process."

    - Combat Proficiency

    -Loadout Tab

    -Chose Loadout to change

    -Change

When all I want to do is change one or two choices on the fly without the "process."

By the time I'm done trying to get this done, the group fight has pressed on to something else and I'm in combat unable to change anything.

    Very inefficient.

If I could Hotbar Loadouts, then it would work.

  4. One thing I don't like about the way the Ability Tree under Combat Styles is laid out is that you have to choose between two very limited play styles.

Take AOE fighting vs single target fighting for example.

I don't know anyone that only uses one.   In an OPS, you have mobs to deal with (AOE) and the Bosses (Single Target).

So often in between fights I'm going back to my ability tree to turn on abilities that favor AOE then go back and switch to abilities that favor Single Target.

Take Level-23 and Level-30 Merc Tree Options for example.

    That really is kind'a dumb.

So I would like to be able to Hotbar these abilities to change on  the fly in-between fights.

You have to understand that the guild members are not there to serve you, be bossed around or told what they have to do.

Oh I hear you. Ironically it feels as if I've been serving them.  It's a very relaxed guild with no obligations.  A weekly allowance for repairs and Summoning.  A guild bank full of Companion Gifts and 'Bind on Equip' armor.  A stock full of stims and crafting recipes.  I've awarded Cartel items for exceptional CQ point harvesting.  All these things I've contributed myself to make it a more enjoyable guild experience.

But  you are right. I need to find a trustworthy XO.

    Thanks for the feedback.

just dont spam invite randoms and get friends, then it doesn't matter if ur gone for a while cause you can always get it back later if you return, and yea its an investment to get all the rooms, you don't need them so its mostly just vanity stuff, and its meant to be a grind that you do as a guild, not by yourself

The Guild Ship rooms unlock perks.  If it weren't for that I wouldn't even bother with them.

The guild leadership transfer if you are idle for 30 days is to prevent a guild from dying if the GM goes missing.

Personally I don't have a problem with that.  A guild is not supposed to be built and financed by one player only, it's supposed to be a group effort, and the rules are there to keep the group from being screwed over by a missing GM.

Yes, but getting that group together in the first place is very difficult.  In chat, people are offering credits to players to help them start guilds.  Some guilds are now offering a weekly credit allowance to keep you with them.

As for getting screwed over by a missing GM, one of my alts is in such a guild right now.  Guild perks have long expired and nothing has been renewed.  I don't see it as getting screwed over. I will just up and leave and join another guild.  It's not my loss but theirs.

The ideal of what a SWTOR guild is supposed to be and the reality are two very different things.

I have a solo guild made up of my imp alts with a flagship. One of these days i'd like to add all my imp alts and all my pub alts into another guild, but it takes other people to do that. I don't want other people in the guild because I use it as legacy storage and to have greater control over rep bonuses, xp and all that. My alts also risk getting kicked out in a real guild. This system works fine for me because it's a solo guild and all the stuff in legacy storage is intended to be used solely by me.

OP has the mentality of someone like me with a solo guild except he's running an actual active guild with other human beings. Which is really weird. All their problems and thinking about trust and 'lost investment' stem from this weird thinking. It sounds like OP would much rather have a solo guild. His guildies probably agree :rak_01: Seriously, if I was GMing with other actual players involved, I would fully expect that they'd despise me.

This is how you get around having to invite other people to get your alts in without using a second computer:

    • In Windows create a second Windows User account.  Without logging out of the first one, "switch user" over to the second account.  It's basically a "new" Windows/Desktop.
    • Install SWTOR in this new account/desktop as if you were installing it for the first time.
    • After installing, start a free SWTOR  account and create a character.
    • "Switch user" back to your first Windows account/desktop without logging out of the  second.
    • Invite your new toon you just created in your second Windows/SWTOR account to your guild from your original SWTOR account.
    • "Switch-user" back to your second account and have the toon accept invitation.
    • Switch back to the first account and give that toon recruiting powers.
    1. On your first account log into your alt.
    2. On your second account, have the new recruiter you just created invite your alt.
    3. Switch back to first account and have your alt accept invitation.
    4. Keep repeating this process  until all your alts are in your guild.

All this can be done without logging out of either account.

The guild I'm in does a weekly raffle. A few guild members know how to play the market (GTN) and are always getting cartel market items. The best ones are put in the raffle. It always brings in more credits than the items are worth, so the profit can be used to fund the things you mention. Also, for unlocking rooms, I'm not sure about the credit costs, but you can encourage players to send in their encryptions each week by giving them higher ranks. Like turn in 100 encryptions gets a promotion. Tell players what encryptions you want each week. The more members you have, the more encryptions you get each week. Or you can give out cartel market items for the encryptions (10 encryptions = Bronze, 50 = Silver, 100 = Gold).

For losing guild leadership, you need to get some officers you trust to take over leader when you need a break. The guild I'm in has changed leadership a few times since I've joined. Sometimes rules change, but it's mostly the same guild. A guild that lasts long enough develops a core group that want to keep it running. Leadership might change but it still keeps working once that core has been established. I'm pretty sure other MMOs do the same thing if the guild master is absent. I know WoW does something similar. It's not automatic, but officers with high enough rank can take ownership if the guild master is gone too long. Other MMOs might require players to call support, but the original guild master still loses control.

Those are great ideas. Thank you.

  10. Well, after playing for about 2 years now I decided to create my own guild. A non-RP, Ops oriented Guild.

It then occurred to me that the game has no taxing system to finance guilds.  So I financed it all from the creating to the guild bank to the Flagship to unlocking all the rooms in the Flagship  to Discord....etc.

You are talking an average of 5-6 billion credits per Flagship room at current prices.

To my dismay I discovered that if I am absent and/or unsubscribed for 4 weeks, I lose it all as the game reverts Guild ownership to the next in rank.

    https://help.ea.com/en/help/star-wars/star-wars-the-old-republic/swtor-guild-management/

    WOW!! 😳

My investment is shot if I take a leave of absence or am deployed or hospitalized or just want a break.

The guild is just a few months old with some 50 odd members, and rather than risk losing it all over some unforeseen event, I may just kick everyone and make it a one man guild.

Reading in chat about some player who lost a guild the same way and has been trying to get it back from the next in line with no avail.  Others talk of "inheriting" their guild but not really wanting it.

Seems the Guild system in SWTOR is  messed up IMO.

Not too sure how to proceed with it now.

No thank you.  I don’t want another window that suddenly takes up the whole screen and hides other ones.

Who said anything about taking up the whole screen?   🤨 The image is an example based on what we have now. I'm sure the width can be tweaked to accommodate spacing.  And none of the interface screens in this game are "space friendly."

  12. The most companions you can send out on missions is 8, so why not have the interface reflect that?

It is very cumbersome to keep scrolling up and down to see the status of a mission.  This small alteration in the interface will have you viewing all 8 missions/companions in one view with no scrolling necessary.

Please make it happen, and fix everything else wrong with the crafting windows.

    IMPROVED CRAFTING INTERFACE

  13. I haven't done the swoop event. I just cant get into it.  I'm motivated by rewards, and I just don't see the rewards for this.

If this is a race based event, then the Devs have missed an opportunity (again) to create more participation and a credit sink in the way of WAGERS/BETS.

    Placing bets on the teams.

I will pass by this event again. Like I said, I just don't see the point nor the rewards.

  14. The Guild Perk "Major Critical Boost" is a non-passive, clickable perk.

I'll pull it down to my hotbar from "activities" but I've noticed that the button disappears whenever I change location (much like the disappearing pets).  Furthermore, when I activate the ability, it appear in my buff bar as active but again, when I change location (QT), it disappears from the buff bar also.

After some testing I found that that perk remains active internally (it lasts about an hour) but it is not visible in the buff bar and placing it in the hotbar is useless as it disappears from there as well.

So the there is no way to tell visually if the perk is active or not.  You have to go into your character sheet to see the increase in crit percentage to tell if it is active.

If they did this, there would be the biggest exodus of players since not long after launch. It would be the biggest mistake BioWare ever made with this game & it would shutter it within months.

I really doubt any "exodus" would occur.  People are more prone to rage-quit over ability/class nerfs because they are permanent and alter the way you have been playing.

All that would happen is that accounts would have less disposable credits and thus would not be able to purchase as much, thus prices will begin to fall to meet the spending ability.

Then it's back to business as usual.

This would also hit the "credit farmer" accounts hard, who are not "real" players but  rather, real-world money making business which takes away from the game. They are primarily the cause for inflation IMO.

All this micro-tax business is nonsense.  This is not a real economy where people will go without food.  It's all play money, so treat it as such.   Would save the devs a lot of BS coding time to meet the new taxes, which historically always piss people off even if in the virtual world.

If I'm going to get taxed, I expect the potholes in Corellia to be fixed.

    1. Material quantity doesn't update/refresh.
    2. Grade level pull down menu doesn't work properly.

I don't know if these problems are unique to each discipline, but for Bio, it's a nightmare.  Redundant clicks and re-clicks just to correctly get the information/process you want.

Grade 11 missions are sometimes accidentally fired off when you want a Grade 10 because the system defaults to Grade 11 but the pull down menu stays saying "Grade 10" for example.

Material quantity doesn't refresh as you use or add mats. (A simple refresh button would fix this if you don't want to bother fixing the automation).

    Why is crafting so bad?

Also, would it be so difficult to be able to click on a material item you can manufacture and have the interface pop you to that material making menu?

I want to make Item "Z" but it take Item "A" and "B" to make.  So under the item "Z" menu I click on item "A" or "B" and it takes me to the "A" or "B" manufacturing menu (if I have unlocked making it).

GW2 has this down pat.  Why is it so difficult for SWTOR?

Lastly, the crew window should be wide with a 4x2 selection of crew (4 on the left and 4 on the right) along with the scroll bar.  The most you can run is 8 crew at a time, so why have me scrolling to see if the other 4 have completed their missions? It would be more efficient this way.
