  1. I think what he meant was - if you've never been on the fleet, then you can't be a part of the number used in fleet decline metrics because you weren't part of the original "n". That's how I read it at least.

The argument about the fleet has never been about any "absolute" number. It's the relative number, controlled for variables, between points in time...

This thread is about the fleet being the social hub of the game. I was just saying its not for me. I have every right to say so. If he or the Op only want players who agree or who spend lots of time on fleet to post, then it's hardly representative of the players who play. It would be just a one sided thread if that did happen. TUX's often posts imaginary stats based solely on he's opinion. Pretends he represents the majority of players, worse still represents the general public who don't even play the game. Belittles players who don't agree with him by saying they don't have a right to an opinion. while at the same time saying stuff like this-

    Quote by TUX 1.

"Who has claimed it was for "everyone"? Nobody. Only you have, in your mistaken understanding of what people are saying."

Which is not what I said at all. I said everyone as in I don't, so if I don't not all do. In other words I was taking about myself not other players. Unlike him I never speak for other players. There is not one F****** thing in he's reply to my post that I even said. If a player like me does not use fleet for a social hub of the game, then it is relevant to the topic " The fleet has been, and always will be, the social hub of SWTOR" While he has in-fact said quotes such as this all taken from this thread,:-

    Quote by TUX 2.

"Stop worrying about people trying to pretend it doesn't matter. It does, it reflects the servers health, always has, always will...don't let the deniers and antagonists bother you."

    Quote by TUX 3.

"I've replied to the nonsense that fleet numbers are meaningless that's being trolled about...nothing more."

    Quote by TUX 4

"I've played this game since beta...Fleet has ALWAYS represented the health of the server."

Then has the nerve to clime I have said everyone, when it clear that the use of everyone in context of my post is taking about ME. as in I don't so not everyone does. Pretty sure he's the one implying that.

Personally I have never considered staying on fleet as an indicator of the health of the game. Even less so since strong holds came out. Everything I need which was once on fleet I can get from my stronghold. Or by other methods such as holo statues as one example. I don't go there for gear even for my level 70 characters.

  2. Who has claimed it was for "everyone"? Nobody. Only you have, in your mistaken understanding of what people are saying.

This is an MMO. MMOs have a large focus on group content, it's actually what differentiates an MMO from single player games most. Fleet IS the best place to form, or find, a group...always has been, always will be.

The fact is, you've never been counted as a visitor to Fleet. You're irrelevant to the analysis because you aren't there enough to make any difference...the people who have quit, they are making a difference.

Maybe you should re-read your posts on this subject. Actually don't bother I am used to your double standard posts and outright lies by now. Again pretending you represent other players who have left the game. Get over you over inflated ego.

  3. Having downloaded the test sever in the past I thought I could just transfer a copy of a character and jump straight in. However it seems I have to download the test sever itself again. Well really not going to again as it takes far to long. So guess the test server now comes under the cannot be bothered category for me.
  4. I hardly ever go to fleet. Lets see now I go when I leave starter worlds, get my crew skills and go when bounty hunt event is on. Other than that there's the Revan Prelude. That's about it for me. All that I have listed takes less than a few minuets per visit, so hardly the be all and end all social hub as far as I am concerned. Those claiming it is, well it maybe for you, not for everyone playing this game. Certainly is not, never has been, and never will be for me.
  5. Well this happens across all play styles. I think its just more noticeable in PvP because all PvP players are reliant on each other. As for the individual player you mention OP, just put that player on your ignore list. General chat is just as toxic where other players are concern. At least as a solo player you can just turn gen chat off.
  6. I left a while back, not out of dislike for the game, I honestly love it, I just had other things going on. I'm probably going to be playing again, but I was wondering somethings.

    1. How active is it?

    2. Do we know what the future holds at all? Has BioWare said anything about continuing it for X amount of years or anything?

    3. How often is the game updated still?

    Thanks!

Try not to let the doombots influence your reason to return. Best way to find out most of what you have asked is just play the game. The only one listed is how often is game updated which you won't find out just by playing. OK depends on your own definition of updates but around 3 times a year. from small updates which is normally something like a flashpoint/story to a larger epax. I expect the next one to be larger that the last two as its the beginning of the next story arc. If you are into operations then not so much as at the beginning of the game. Only one new Op recently which only came out in parts over a year.

Not sure how long ago you left, but if you don't own a stronghold it worth having one or two. You can add your own decorations which include all the utilities such as cargo holds, legacy banks, GTN and so on. You can buy these or craft them. Other decoration can be brought via cartel or from venders and be gotten as in-game rewards. It really does help having all in one location which is easy to get to and return back to your original location. If you were here when they came out then just ignore this paragraph

Guess that just leaves the welcome back. So welcome back. :)

  7. As a solo player, you do not have any need whatsoever for BiS gear. There is a reason that the portions of the game that make active use of this gear get it faster. If you want to play an MMO by yourself, that's up to you but expect it to take longer than those of us who interact with the rest of the population and play the group portions of the game.

    .

Than remove BiS gear altogether and adjust the game so its not needed. At the end of the day PvP'er are not the only ones buying the master datacron so saying you have to pay 2000cc is total rubbish as you claim during your endless posts in this thread. Saying lowbe PvP needs more incentive for PvP'er to do it, means that PvP players don't enjoy it and will only do it for rewards. Well then remove it if no one plays it for FUN. You interacting with other players also means nothing to me or most solo players and no I don't think you should get extra for doing it. You play the game you want to play as do we. I don't have any issue with PvP play only the PvP'ers like you who think they are so special you deserve extra for playing the game you want to play. You pay the same sub as us. The only valuable commodity you put into this game is the sub you pay (as said same as us) the money you spend on cartel stuff. (which over all is no more or less than solo players like myself do) so that just leaves as said the only other valuable commodity which is the time you actually spend playing. Which again is no more or less than anyone else.

You claim QuinlanSaathis is been selfish? well back at you, you are the one saying that your play style deserves more and extra, QuinlanSaathis is saying you should be rewarded the same. I agree with him and to me you are been the selfish one here. I don't have an issue with lowbe PvP getting Command Points or UC for WZ's at any level but if you get it as a under level 70 so should other play styles. BW should treat all there customers equally and no players should get better gear for doing there preferred type of game. In any case there already is a reward system in place for PvP'ers in ranked PvP which gives cosmetic rewards. Don't have a problem with that as it cosmetic.

    As for

If you hate pvp so much, why do you even care what is rewarded? It’s not like people will stop playing pve stuff to just go pvp to get rewards and never play pve again? So it won’t affect you at all. I can’t see why you have a problem with incentivising people to play lowbie and mid tier pvp, which has died since they removed pvp Comms as you lvl’d up.

The only way they can breath life back in to the low-mid tier pvp corpse, is to make really good incentives to play it.

Adding UCs would be nearly the same as when we had pvp Comms, which actually worked to get people playing those brackets.

Funny that you ask why does he care what is rewarded in PvP? Well why do you care what is rewarded in PvE? If players are not doing lowbie PvP and require incentives than that to me says it all. If it requires incentives than it not worth doing. Most solo flashpoints are not worth doing for the reward vs time spent doing the flashpoint. I still do them because I still enjoy doing them.

Going back to topic at hand. Extra legacy tabs is what I would like as previously mention in an earlier post. One of the few things me and you Trixxie agree on. However BW there are a lot of good suggestions in this thread and hope some are considered and implemented. As for lowbie PvP, add what you like BW and think is apocopate, just be as fair to your solo players as well.

  8. More bank slots, like the Guild ones have, would help in this situation and so would more tabs. 6 bays isn’t enough, especially for legacy bank.

I agree, more legacy storage space would be nice. Craft mats do take up a lot of space, then there's legacy gear, cartel items you have claimed before you had the present system. GTN items brought. I think this is one of the few things I agree with TrixxieTriss on. Of cause it needs to be viable for BW to be able to do extra tabs. If it could be done then for me personally this is the only QOL item I want. How many extra tabs? Well as many as BW can add without hindering game play.

  9. Regardless of the OP's request if it did continue until next expansion he/she or some other player would demand it continue further. All that would happen is double XP would become the norm and then players would demand a double XP event. Once that ends we get this thread all over again, and so on. There are areas that I think CXP should be increased because of time spent doing it but that's a different issue.
  10. Or you just doing it because of increase in internet hubs, hence ms as you wrote it in previous threads. Anyway screwing everything with your bad suggestions and leaving after this is so typical for some members in mmo industry. Lets see how long this game will last after lore and essence of star wars will be removed from this game.

There is an element of truth in that, same player demanded server merges saying it was the only way for PvP'ers to be able to continue playing. Well that clearly worked! As for cross-faction PvP, well next week, next month or never makes no difference to me because as soon as it does comes it be something else as to why PvP don't pop even in primetime.

  11. 1) Actually, I look forward to seeing all those emails when I start up a character. :)

    2) Can't say I fully understand the connection between the "challenge" and the charities. As far as I could tell from perusing the linked sites, the charities get the money regardless of who/how many do the challenges, or even log in. I guess it did get me to click through the links and be aware of the charities. So ... mission accomplished?

True that, I mean it's not hard to just delete them if you don't want anything from them or just takes what 30 to 60 seconds to get the ones you want. Not really end of the world cry out loud stuff to warrant complaint threads. I think I have over 40+ on my main account use a few of the mounts and boosts mainly from mine. Just as quick to get from mailbox than go to stronghold get one out of storage or collections.

  12. Theron's not my personal favourite character and never will be. However given the options in the last flashpoint means Theron's story is pretty much over regardless of which option you picked at the end. Not sure the reason behind saying thank you to BW. Personally I think BW just push him under a bus in story terms. It also makes little difference if you like, hate or indifferent to Theron as a companion his story shows BW really don't care about companions in general because they can do this to any companion. Most players will like at least one companion and as such going forward any and all companions will have similar fates. Then again look at how Revan was treated in this story, he was the player character before TOR as such any story set after SWTOR will basically do the same to each of the eight class characters.

I find these love/hate threads amusing because none of the characters are ours. If you are going to do a thank you thread at least have a reason to say thank you. You don't have a reason here with Theron.

  13. Don't mind getting free stuff, but not if it requires me doing group stuff. So thank you for the offer BW but no thanks. Nothing is going to make me to group stuff not even behind a charity. If you add solo items for us solo players instead of group, then sure. However to make a complaint thread about it is a bit OTT.
  14. story wise what would you like to see?

    Bring back Roleplay?

    new features?

Change to the end game loot system

More ways for solo players to enjoy the game?

everything else you guys and girls wanna see?

I would like to hear everyone's suggestions and opinion.

    :p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

I guess I deem the word expansion differently to you. All of what you have listed I see as game mechanic's not expansions. However more ways for solo players to enjoy more of the game would be nice. How to do that is more of an issue. Story wise I would have liked the next expansion to go back to the 8 class's but realistically I don't see that happening. I don't want the next expansion to just go back to Republic vs Sith that's just going over old ground. Even though I don't do Op's or group play I have no objection to this as long as its not part of a story arc.

  15. True. And Facebook would certainly try to game the laws if they could. [full disclosure: I saw Facebook for what it was (a personal data pirate, that resold everything it pirates) years ago.. and will never have a Facebook account.. no matter what Zuckerberg "promises". That guy is the biggest sleeze-bag on the internet in my view.] Facebook is a data parasite, for profit, posing as a social media provider.

But in an MMO... what exactly can we upload into the game, that is ours.. other then our time? :)

It's not about your characters or what you upload to the game. BW would now have to watch what it does with your personal data. Such as your Name, Email address, age, gender and so on such as putting cookies on your PC which tracks which other website you go to. Now I am sure BW don't abuse personal data, it just not all other companies are as honest. it just now any company within or operate within the EU are legally bound to protect your data or ask permission first to use it. This was the issue before this rule. Most already did this anyway and as said confident that BW already did. However the amount of personal data passed on or sold on to other parties was a joke by far to many. So even with BW they have a lot of info on any player Sub, or F2P person. So this act is still relevant even to MMO's

  16. My wife and I’ve been lvling some new Alts and played through Revan, again. We both think there have been some minor changes, but it’s been so long since we played it, that we aren’t sure.

One of them that comes to mind is a scene with Lana on Mannan, where my character gives her a hug instead of a kiss. I went through all the flirting options with her like I’ve done in the past.

So did they change that or was it always like that? I honeslty can’t remember.

My wife also thinks there have been really small changes made to the conversions. Nothing game breaking or too apparent, so it’s hard to remember.

Well over time memory can play tricks on your mind or maybe you just picked a few different choice's this time. I think first kiss was on Rishi or Yavin for my characters, well the ones who flirted with her anyway. Other factors such as how many flirt options you took or if you also flirted with Theron as well may have influenced the story. Other factors such as if your character is male or female. So players like myself may have differences to you in any case, not even counting our own memory playing tricks on us if the case may be. Still you could well be right and maybe BW have made a few changes.

  17. I would have gone with the supposed original plan ... 3 expansions, 16 chapters each.

Me too overall. Other than that there are certain aspects the story I would have done differently but am sure this would apply to most players to various degrees. From minor changes to not done have KotFE at all. BW could never please everyone. Over all though I liked it.

  18. that is a matter you should take up with the legal department of EA honestly but i'm hopeful Eric has as easier answer on the matter.

BW's Legal department like any other online service or company in general within or operate within the EU should be up to-date with new rules coming in. The OP should not be overly concerned. He/she is just asking a question. However he/she should not need to take it up with them. They would have to be compliant or more accurately show they are taking steps towards it internally within there company. This would all be happening behind the scenes. You may get an Email about it if not already had one about how your information is used and if you still agree with it. I have had so many of these over the last few days/weeks to sink a battleship from various places I use online. A few sites ask now when you visit a webpage others via email.

  19. I thought more like July since Keith said something about test center you should be able to see the new stronghold and that comes sometimes in June.

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=9600772#edit9600772

Yes be out later in the year, unfortunately I had read it wrong before. I was hoping it be out before my sub ended. Well some you win some you lose. I get to see how good it is via Youtube I guess.

  20. Two things! 1. With the level 60-65 token get you 500 crew skills. However you get zero choice in what crew skills. 2. It is worth remembering you do get a extra character per server, which was diminished somewhat by the server merges. With the master datacron you get better equipment than the level 60-65 token you get the keep your class story and you can if you want still jump into KotFE by using the ships terminal. It really make the 60-65 token worthless IMO. not worth the extra 1400cc over a character slot token of 600cc. If you do play on every server, well then maybe worth considering. Still at lot of cash for just one 60-65 character plus 4 level 1's. Maybe BW should change it so you get a 60-65 per server?

    So to sum up.

60-65 token Extra character slot per server (only one of which can be the level 60-65) Plus 500 in crew skills

Master Datacron, keep class story or jump right in to KotFE or either of the next two expansions via ship terminal. Better equipment which has set bonus over the level 60-65. No crew skill jump as in you start as you would as a level 1.

  21. The Gamorrean has always been a rare drop and not a purchase. This approach fits Kieth’s wishes to having more affective credit syncs in the game because the drop is rare and everyone wants it, so they spend more credits trying to get it.

This is the most effective type of credit sync in the game, something super rare or hard to get, that everyone wants. This way we spend more credits than we realise. Ultimately it’s a form of real gambling because we aren’t guaranteed to get it even if we spend 100mil credits.

Its not a credit sink if it just puts players of playing in the event. I am done after what? just over two hours of playing it. Already won enough gold certs for the Elara custom for all my characters and nothing else worth having that I did not get last time. If the odds are so small in getting anything other than gold certs is so low, then really why bother? Not just on about the Gamorrean here either as I did get that last time. Be nice to get for other alts but not if that chance is so low. Losing credits is not an issue and doubt many are going to be that upset by losing credits as easy enough to get back, but don't like wasting my time.

  22. Personally I would just like the odds of winning items other than gold certs increased. So far I have won enough gold certs to buy the Elara customization for all my characters on the server I was on today. From the vender that's all I want as the decoration cannot be sold or given to guild the rest I have. Not sure its worth playing it again. Well not on the same server. Disappointed that the companion cannot be brought with gold certs, At least then it be worth carrying on playing.

So for the lucky few who have won something else, what are the smuggler prizes?
