  1. Are you commenting on the inflation?

    If so, that’s about as woke as dividing by zero.

     

    If an item does not exist, you can not measure inflation by it.

     

    Inflation would still be there, apparent in the extreme with other hard/impossible to get items like the old Oricon planetary gear or the Crate-o-matic.

     

    I’m not against lowering CM prices if the revenue is the same for BW — it’s in my interest to ensure the longevity of this game because I like playing it.

    However this would not alter inflation because a) the relation between CC and credits is not linear and b) player wealth in credits would not be altered, which is what drives inflation.

     

    Regardless, CM prices are not in the slightest what is ”killing this game” as OP claims.

    As others including the OP has mentioned individual cost of certain items. Well if BW did not sell any such items, then the price would have been lowered. As such inflation is not relevant when talking about CM killing the game. At the end of the day its cosmetic and none of it is needed to play the game. While the unlocks are nice and useful you can play without. Buy or don't buy, CM is not killing the game. However you can always spend wisely and take advantage of when items are on sale, which of course includes when collections are at half price. It would be nice if BW advertised better when collections are on sale, but they do go on sale.

  2. More storage space, every time we get a new planet there's new craft mats, so yes more space.

     

    Gear boxes. The ability to store a complete armour set in a single box. This is mainly for legacy gear. Also would free up storage space.

     

    On character screen something that says what crew skills the character has. Not an issue for players who only have a handful of characters but when you have 90?

  3. A few good ideas OP, but for the most part the changes you are asking for help you, certainly would not help me. I do think conquest needs to change. At the moment its yet another event/activity that I don't get involved in. Which I did before the revamp. Any event really needs to include as many players as possible. be that large or small guilds and solo players. Also IMO needs to be more alt friendly.

    BW could just add another way of getting starship floor plans, so you can still get them free though conquests, Conquest would still give you the in game titles and achievements. I only did conquests for the floor plans as in-game achievements mean nothing to me. I am not talking buying plans of GTN as I am not going to rewards other players because BW are penalizing small guilds or even now solo guilds which there are a few now. BW needs to find away in include all players. By all I mean in any activity not just conquests.

  4. Don't uninstall just yet. Wait and see if others are having the same issue. I will start game following this post to see if I can see server list. This has happened in the passed but just quitting and restating always worked for me.

    All working fine for me.

    Try repair icon if there, normally there after a new patch update,and before you press play. Also try re-starting PC first and try reloading game, do this before before uninstalling and re-installing. If all else fails then you can do the install game but personally I'd wait for a few more reply's as other players have far more knowledge than me on this.

  5. People see what they want to see and believe what they want. The game is dying threads are just as one sided as the game is not dying threads, by who ever happens to be the thread starter on which ever side they happen to be on. I never see the point of these endless threads about this topic.
  6. I agree that enforcement is important, and reporting is a key to good enforcement in MMOs. However, making reporting as simple as pushing a button, in the context of PvP is just asking for vendetta spam, hate spam, vindictive spam, etc to fill-up the report logs in game. In other words... such a feature will quickly be weaponized in PvP by some players.

     

    Keep in mind... now matter how your report a probable cheater.. the studio cannot take your word for it, and must verify any claims made, so the more detail the better.. and that takes more time on the part of players then just a cheater-button. Otherwise... reporting is just another exploit by some players to grief others.

     

    They do need to make it easier to identify and report by character name.. since that seems to be somewhat difficult with some names due to odd characters being used cheaters to try to actually discourage reports. So the ability to quickly pinpoint by character name is needed.

     

    I can see that a one button report system can be misused, but it would be up to BW to enforce such a system. By that I mean for both the cheaters being reported and those misusing such a system as a form of vendetta as you mention.. Which is why such a system would require a dedicated member of staff or even more than one. Of course such a system would also require BW having the funds to do so. Which may or may not be available for them to implement it at present time. Only BW can answer that, not me

     

    I'm not saying mine is the best or only option.

    Above is always the best advice. I do them but since the server merge not as often as I once did. I think the weekly though is still worth doing for the CXP points if you are level 70. As for credits? well the amount go's up with your level so a level 70 would get more than a level 50.

  8. Sorry to hear this, and a nice tribute post for your friend Astro. 4 years fighting any condition is difficult but I am sure you and your guild helped him though the last 4 years of Astro's life with your kindness and camaraderie.

  9. Not my thing ranked WZ's but I have to agree a cheat button similar to report spam, harassment seem very reasonable. More so if it helps the enjoyment for those taking part. I too remember this being mentioned or hinted at some time ago. A cheat button though will only work if BW act upon such reports. So if BW do this, it has to have a dedicated member of staff to work the system. I know BW do act upon gold spammers every so often but this would need to be done much more frequently than once maybe twice a year as gold spammer are now..
  10. well some complain over the silliest things, however I remember a similar add for a guild some time back on ToFN server. Of course that may well have been you if that was your guilds origin server before the merge. Still don't think its worth a complaint though even if someone else did steel it.
  11. I have been here since prior to launch (June 2009) and there was always talk about appearance tabs, especially from those of us that came from SWG. Legacy wasn't even in the game at launch so legacy banks were not even considered at the time due to the fact there wasn't a legacy per se at launch so that wasn't even talked about.

     

    Solo flashpoints yea that is something I can see that is new but then again the people that were on the forums at that time were not really interested in solo things. A lot of them were group related. Solo items were added later when they started adding more solo items, which is nice, but it was not mentioned while the game was getting ready to launch. It was mentioned further down the line.

     

    I was not here from the start but only came when it became F2P and subbed soon after (though was one of my many other accounts) only because of two things A. it became F2P so I could try the game out and B. because it was advertised as solo friendly. I guess my point is as I was not here at the start I cannot comment on how the game started out.

     

    Any game though has to adapt to survive in a changing environment and solo content would not be here if it was not required for the game to continue forward. Same would apply to the cartel market as well as many other changes made since. Freely admit some changes don't make much sense from my point of view. Still continue to play or leave are the choice we all have.

     

    Other things though such as legacy though particularly legacy banks and such were added IMO not because it was needed for the game to continue but just because some players asked and BW though it was a good idea. How many were asking for legacy is ultimately in this case unimportant. BW thought it was a good idea and implemented it. Unless group players start having to pay extra I will never agree that group players should have extra rewards for doing or playing there preferred playstyle as someone in this thread said. Other than the real money players spend either on sub or cartel, the only valuable commodity you or any of us put into this gam, is the actual time any of us spend playing. Be that in groups or solo. I'm not talking about in game credits or XP/CXP, each area of game has a different reward and for the most part am fine with that. You do get more for group play OK. Craft mats though are different, why should any group player be able to craft and sell items on the GTN for millions for just playing there preferred game play? Group players are already getting the extra in credits, XP/CXP for that. For that reason I will never agree with players like SebastiaanZ. However your comments above were insightful as to where the game started out.

    Poor post trolls who does not even know the difference between players sharing a virtual world and players having to group in a game advertised as suitable for group players and solo players. However believe what you want dudes for I too can be as belittling and condescending as you can.

  13. A actual mobile starship please. One that can fit in all companions plus other cartel personal. so would need to have plenty personal occupancy places. A starship could still have plenty hooks for other thing for the player more into the decorating side. Personally I really don't need another static SH on a planet but if others do I have no issue with that as I would not be required to have it myself.
  14. Can you provide a little more detail on this part? The Ultimate Cartel packs currently drop 4 items. If a Reputation token falls, is it going to take place of one of the four slots? Or will there be a possible fifth spot?

    What about those of us who will have the Legend status already? The reason I'm a little worried about this is the old packs would still take up slots for reputation drops even if we were already at Legend rank, so a slot would still be wasted, and the credit return for these was laughable, and because they were bound we couldn't sell them on the GTN. Are you guys changing the system so it will check the Legend status before opening the pack and it will for sure never drop for a Legend player and never take up one of our slots? Or at the very least give them a better credit gain, or even unbind them like anything else in the pack currently.

     

    Good questions. Rep tokens be useless to me. I guess if its a 5th item then not really losing anything as long as price does not go up, but if the rep is replacing a item slot, then BW you should know by past experience's with cartel packs this is probably not going to go well.

    So, hopefully, they never give her a kill option. It'd likely just be a story breaking reason for anyone to kill her (ie not make sense) and we have enough of those chat options already.

  16. It might not matter anyway - with the Lana relationship bug, you might log out today engaged to Lana, and log in tomorrow with the relationship back to "started a romantic relationship".

     

    It's not a bug. BW just never updated it. It says this on all my characters and believe me I have a lot of characters. If BW were to update it, it be at the start of the next expansion assuming BW still have the same system in place as it moves beyond KotFE storyline on to a brand new story. I say brand new story but it's really back to Empire vs Republic so just going over old ground that's been done to death.

  17. IF more players are doing conquest, it is only because of the fact that one of the changes was adding the very expensive mats to the list of rewards. I am absolutely certain that if all changes were rolled back but the mats remained as they are now, everyone will do conquest far more seriously, and as a side-effect, ranked mat farming will decline severely.

     

    Please re-read my post, I was not in any way defending the change to conquests. In-fact stated I no longer even do conquests myself. I have edited my post to include BW's post on conquests where Keith said more guilds were now participating in conquests. BW or rather Keith was saying this not me as shown by the edited quote by Keith from the development tracker. The post also says old system was so buggy that players were not getting there rewards. So had to change. For me this is not a defence however for what I think were the radical changes made. Yes the bug needed to be fixed, a new system may well have been needed, the overall conquest change NO.

    I agree with this part of your post Lhancelot. While I do get conquest points weekly since they change it, it's only because I happen to be doing heroics and kill the stage one or two of kill NPC's while doing heroics or leveing a character. Other than that I have only actively done conquests just once the first week it changed. Don't even bother using guildship anymore. Just another activity BW ruined for me. However if you read some of the threads about the conquests some like it. How much of the player base that is? well guess we will never know. BW did how ever say more players are doing it. Personally I would like to see the data on that. By that I mean am I included in that date as a player doing conquests? as I get conquest points even though I no longer do conquest and never reach personal conquest goal?

    So, I'm a bit confused. Eric went on vacation just two days ago. Before he left, he provided updates about the changes we're making in 5.9 which is scheduled for release on May 1st.

     

    We realize some of you are not happy with the changes we made to Conquests and the 5.9 adjustments will help. As we all know, Conquests were broken and preventing players from receiving rewards which caused a lot of unnecessary frustration, extra Engineering work and wasted time for you and Customer Service. It had to be replaced with a newer and maintainable system.

     

    Although it'll take a few updates to get it exactly right, we have not had the same issues with rewards, a lot more guilds are receiving rewards, and there is higher participation overall. However, we also acknowledge that it's more difficult for alternate characters to complete their weekly goals which some of the changes in 5.9 will address.

     

    We will continue to review the data and your feedback to determine if additional adjustments are needed. I'm not sure that gives you any additional insight, but we need to release 5.9 to identify further changes.

  19. Not long had one, however I would not say no to another. :)

     

    Be nice to have character slots go on sale too. Now most of my accounts are F2P and this one only sub every other month be nice to be able to use the hundreds of characters I lost when the servers merged. Such as on one of my accounts I can have 42 active characters out of 90 on Darth Malgus. That's not even counting the other servers. That's just one account. So be nice with a 50% sale.

  20. Well done. I have many characters at various high levels still not been killed yet, don't think I have one at max level though (not counting ones made using instance boosted level 60/65/70 obviously) Out of your other characters how many have been killed due to silly reasons such as falling of a ledge or something?
