  1. Predominantly light-side, military-esque RP guild with three branches for troopers, Jedi and smugglers. We tend to shy away from nothing but cantina-based RP (though you'll find us there for social gatherings, sure enough) in favor of 'missions' - getting out and RPing scenarios on different planets, with different people, and different situations. Big enough for variety but small enough to remain friendly, we're looking for more RPers who want to have fun and avoid nerd drama and the usual RP nonsense. Come talk to us in game, or check out our website: EHPeacemakers.enjin.com Hope to RP with you soon!
  2. <Insert Clever Reason to Bump Here>! Still going strong, still taking good RPers with great characters!
  3. The Legion is in need of dedicated troopers and honorable Jedi to bolster the ranks for the fight against the worst the galaxy has to offer in an upcoming story arc! Please contact Moshii or Connor in game, or fill out an application at our website - EHLegion.enjin.com
  4. The Operations Detachment Initiative was started by the Republic Senate Defense Committee, with one goal: cut through political red tape and create a fighting unit that can be deployed anywhere, operating largely independently while still being efficient. Among them was Operations Detachment L-19, call sign 'The Legion'. The team would be composed of the best from across the galaxy, and would be a force to be reckoned with - if they can get past their differences and come together. The three branches of the Legion are as varied as they are strong. Nova Squad, Tactical Operations unit N99, was officially detached from the Republic Army and put onto ODT-L19, 'The Legion'. The TacOps squad, while not as niche as SpecForce, was nonetheless battle tested and efficient. They are motivated, high speed troopers, and can be identified by their battle cry; "Get Some!" The Jedi Order, upon receiving a request from the Senate, dispatched a small group of Jedi to serve with The Legion. The Jedi Delegation acts on behalf of the Council, and assists in matters that require a Jedi's attention: battling the Sith, acting as diplomatic connections, and advising and handling all things related to the Force. The Strategic Information Services was tapped by the Senate to create and offshoot that would work exclusively with the Legion and the issues of intelligence and covert operations. They passed a resolution to make The Network, the Legion's own branch of spies, operatives, slicers and mercenaries. From wetworks to intelligence gathering to piloting in combat, the Network encompasses the vast needs of such a unit. One from many, the Legion grows stronger by the day. We're a Heavy RP guild (with weekly Ops) that does our best to keep the drama to a minimum, and just try to have fun with like minded people in the game. We try to follow a set of Core Values, which you can find at our website - EHLegion.enjin.com - and should you so feel inclined, drop us an application!
  5. I'm awful at recruiting posts, but The Legion might be something to look into. We're active - usually at least 6-10 members online, a lot of times more - and do RP events, as well as Ops and some PvE. We try to shy away from drama, at least OOC (IC Drama is usually at least kind of planned out or at least talked about before hand so it doesn't become OOC drama). The guild concept is an 'Operations Detachment'. It's an organization funded by the Republic Senate, and consists of one part military squad, one part Jedi group, one part SIS operation - room for everyone. The idea is the three groups work together to cut trough red tape and get things done. If you're interested, check out our (woefully neglected) website at EHLegion.enjin.com or give one of us a shout in game. Anyone with The Legion under their name, or whisper Connor, Moshii, or Vonn. Happy hunting, hope you find what you're looking for!
  6. Throwing in my +1. I don't think VG/PT tanks can do the man dance and last for very long, given a majority of the big hitting attacks they'll have coming their way laugh at a shield and penetrate armor.
  7. You'd have to keep people from donning Recruit gear, getting in the match, and putting on their WH gear. Easier said than done.
  8. I play a SS Vanguard, and I've always had a few issues with Storm. It seems to be happening a lot more lately, though. I hit Storm, and the ability goes on cooldown, but I'm still just running around. About two to three seconds later, the animation plays (all sped up) and I land and where the targeted player was those few seconds ago. I've had two breaking instances, where it threw my location off, so while it looked like I was in melee range, I was actually a few meters away (according to the UI). Just now, it gave me the lag-hit, I stormed the location the player was at, and couldn't run forward. As if there was an invisible wall in front of me. Anyone else having issues like this?
  9. At first I was like "Hey! That's his Tank Dempsey voice!" Now all I can think is "Shut up, Tank Dempsey. You're stupid."
  10. After the transfers, I think chat bubbles are more important than ever. 50+ people RPing in one area? Scroll fest!
  11. The RP scene is pretty good, overall. Couple Heavy RP guilds, some RP and PvE/PvP guilds. Lot of info on that website up there. And I guess I should also be extending a welcome to the other servers transferring over as well! Cant wait to play with you guys!
  12. First and foremost, great you have you guys with us, I think you'll enjoy the server. There's something for everyone and the people are spectacular. What is this thread about? Well, to be honest, I'm just plugging the unofficial official website for the server, which is Ebon-hawk.com - really, that's it. I think you should go there, because it's neat. Forums, character profiles, events calendar, etc. But I can't wait to play with you guys. See you server side!
  13. Ord Mantell had the dumbest LS/DS choices. The aforementioned giving the medicine to sick soldiers, and telling a kid to go back to his parents is DS? Really? Really. "here's some credits, little Jimmy, leave your parents worried sick, not like you're their son and would love you no matter what, and support your long, arduous mental recovery". Also, I like the trooper story line the first time around. When it was called Mass Effect. "We seem to have been betrayed! You're the only one who can stop this traitor. Well, you and this crew you have to assemble first. Where are they? Oh, all over the place. I know you're a ranking officer on a secret mission of the utmost importance, but if they have anything they need you to do before hand, be sure to help them." Get serious.
  14. I can't speak for LA, I'm on the Ebon Hawk, but good trooper RP is hard to find. The thing about it is that, to do it well, you not only need to know some lore and some basics of the Republic military (your codex will be a big help for that) but the profession of soldiering in general. You need to understand the dynamic between officer and enlisted, the relationship between soldier and the general public, and the (woefully understated) complex bond between a Republic trooper and the Jedi order. For example; the Jedi rely on peace, on calm and keeping their emotions in check. A solider in combat relies on rage, fury, passion and fear to survive - all things that Jedi consider the dark side. Their job is to utterly destroy the enemies of the Republic: they are killers, through and through, but they are close allies of the Jedi knights. They go into war zones together, fight and die with each other. You need to think: what battles have they survived, how many friends have they lost, how often do they get a break? What issues do they have, psychological or physical? Trooper RP has the same moral ambiguity of the smuggler, but with aderance to military codes: tradition, honor, bravery and the horrors of what they, as beings without an aptitude in the Force, must endure. So, for the reasons above, Troopers are, in my opinion, the hardest class to RP well. Well is the key word: anyone can be a dumb knuckle dragging grunt or a war hero General or the baddest of asses SpecForce soldier. To do it right is another thing entirely. If you take nothing else from this post, for God's sake, just remember there is no such rank as Commander in the Republic military (it's a catch all term for a commanding officer - even the Republic navy uses Commodore) and if a civilian salutes you, do not return it.
