  1. Okay... I strongly suspect I have a PC bottleneck... i7-3770k cpu. I have 16gig ram. (I need to investigate latency timings...may be at default) 1070i gpu Anyhow, no matter what I do, I'm at an APM wall with DF/Viru...meaning 38. I've tried various builds...High Mastery/Crit/Low alac High crit/High alac etc... And no matter what it's as if I'm robbing Peter to pay Paul and I end up parsing the same #'s meaning 8.9k-9.3k. I run the game on low settings...and it gets laggy even in 8 man ops at times...16man just kills my machine...like 14fps... Anyone else can confirm or add other things to consider that may be impacting my systems response time? Anti-virus, etc..? Parse: http://parsely.io/parser/view/319726/0

  7. Hey Gunner...CA has been good to me. Cool, laid back players, and a core group of HM folks, a few NiM as well. So...covers the gamut from intro to the game all the way into SM ops, and a Prog group taking on HM Ops... A lot of events during the week as well. World Bosses, Champion Runs for COnquest, etc... PVP...
  8. Just to be clear...If I got Hemorrhaging Blast applied, Dirty Blast (post the proc'd takedown after Wounding shots/cull) is still a higher priority over SoS/Speedshot...? Correct? ...and thanks, as usual.
  9. Where is Dirty Blast in the priority? Still post cull/Wounding shots, but after Takedown, within the Hemorrhaging Blast window?

  11. Thanks...this simplifies things quite a bit. the literal change to the rotation then is prioritizing Takedown when it proc's (versus DB) and that's basically it.
  12. But aren't you losing potential HB damage ticks, triggered by DB, by using HB prior to WS?
  13. So, ideally HB will follow a TD then as many DB's as one can squeeze off?

  15. Is it just me or... Besides detuning DPS a bit for balance, wasn't one of the rationales for the changes that Takedown wasn't being used as intended? Now Takedown is a priority again, but with the decoupling of Hemorrhaging Blast and Dirty Blast, meaning their was a DoT synergy, now Hemorrhaging Blast is essentially a 10 second DoT that's completely independent, meaning no compounding effect with any other abilities. So...post 5.3 DF is still left with an ability that essentially isn't being used as intended. Why not detune the effect between Hemorrhaging and Dirty Blast, versus eliminating it, that way rotation wouldn't have been as dramatically impacted?
  16. It's a bit discouraging at the moment. I've lost 1.3k off my parse. I'm going to wait and see what those who are better at this spec' than me come up with.
  17. I love the PP. And Engi in defensive is a GOD. I can sit on a CP all day and ruin lives. I live in my circle of death all the while you gotta burn just to hit me. It's also why I love to roll into PVP with Dirty, spam my flourish...with the proficiency that extends it's effect by another 5 seconds...15 seconds of 50% slow...it's a great and powerful way to totally mess up a Huttball team...DoT mayhem, and I'll tunnel whoever seems easy pickings at a moment. I'm not a great duelist by any measure...and average PVP'r at best, but if I'm discrete I can seriously compromise the opposition's flow while the uber talented melee types clean up. But I really love to tunnel engineers because they simply can dominate via denial of area tactics using that PP. If I draw an engineer's attention then I'm running really effective interference for my team. PP is OP for sure in that regard. Regarding the finer points of rotation and energy management...I can't speak to that because I'm not good enough at the spec'. Just my anecdotal experience.

I understand the basics of the three Cull/Wounding shots....So, what you're telling me is at times I'm getting ahead and using my WS too early (3 GCD) and at other times I'm late (5 GCD), and possibly by virtue of a timing error I'm not maximizing my WS per DoT application? That there should be a "Strict" 4 GCD's between Wounding Shot volleys? Thanks for the look...

I've been trying to wrap my head around DF as well, I can regularly parse 7.5k...I can't seem to get my APM up, and it's not that I'm missing GCD's or fumbling about, I'm thinking maybe some finer rotation issues I may be missing, idk...anyhow, here's my latest parse, any thoughts, suggestions, analysis would be greatly appreciated...I'm new to StarParse as well, and would appreciate any pointers regarding how to interpret the data here: http://parsely.io/parser/view/291106/0 Stats:

  22. Fyi: Wuts interesting is that the one toon I loaded in on previously, I can still access. I still haven't logged out, but I can't switch toons. I get bounced back into the toon selection screen...and can only actually play game on the toon I was actually fuklly logged in with- Hoplon Xiphos.
  23. That all makes sense, been doing it, you don't want to click too early on SoS...with the 4th shot, else it cancels out.
  24. Thx for the UI tips...found what was wrong and now I can reference my debuffs. This is an interesting discipline... it's as if you can bias for AOE yet hit with big single target clout, but you need to always be a few steps ahead of the fight. Electrified Railgun...I'm not seeing this being discussed here and it seems integral in terms of maximum damage, it also has an AOE component if I understand correctly. Only now after a bunch of reading have I figured out that this stacks, and you want the maximum stack (3?) before you set off EMP....reminds me of "Breaching Shadows" with infiltrator... "Electrified Conduit – When EMP Discharge damages a target, Electrified Conduit deals an additional energy damage per stack of Electrified Railgun on the target. Additionally, EMP Discharge harms up to 7 other targets within 5 meters if the primary target is affected by your Electrified Railgun" How do you build this stack most efficiently? I understand the "free" frag grenade, post EMP, provides 1, how do you build the other two stacks? Snipe & SoS? EDIT...SoS builds a full three stacks. So, SoS should always precede EMP. It's almost as if there are two separate rotations built into this discipline. 1- One that centers around the Explosive Probe with Series of shots- this is single target specific. Laze target, Target Acquired, that is something you always want to use in conjunction with EP, correct? 2- The other is the layup for EMP, meaning Plasma probe, Int probe, then EMP Uh, why PP first? Why not Int Probe then PP? ...Now I've noticed that I can set up the two probes, but the EMP box doesn't glow until I've hit the target with a Series of Shots...Why is that? I'm missing something here. When the EMP box glows is that indicative of having the Electrified Railgun fully stacked as well in conjunction with the probes? Now, there are abilities that stack buffs (or takes advantage of stacked buffs) for the two distinct applications. SoS should come right after EP, to blow up the cluster bombs...and SoS also gives you a stack of Railgun. Snipe gives you a stack of railgun. Same with Frag grenade... And you should always have a full stack of railgun before setting off EMP. ...and EMP contributes to AOE damage significantly with a full stack of Railgun if the baddies are clustered in a spot. One thing I really want to do is work in very tight synergy with the Tank, because if I know where the tank will be, it's like plotting artillery. Am I getting this? The firing sequence for Eng seems really time-consuming on the front end...yet when you hit, it just hurts.
