  1. I've got 9 companions with maxed affection, and the human +100, so grand total of +190. I made a new char, and yeah, right when you get them, they hit hard, and their HP doesn't go down. I suspect it will diminish as I level up.
  2. Anyone know if the 100 presence boost can be applied more than once? Like if you have 3 level 50 humans, do you get 300 or is it capped at 100?
  3. You're paying for a lot of things. Businesses have lots of costs. Office space, utilities, direct labor, supplies, capital expenditures, marketing, distribution costs, restructuring costs, etc. Without a general ledger, I don't think there's a way to figure out what percentage of what money is going where, only general areas. For example, if you look at their annual report, they spent $747 million on marketing and sales. It's a good rule of thumb that a business' profit margin would be anywhere from 0% (meaning not losing any money, but not growing) and 20% (incredibly high margin), and it usually hovers around 10%. So, if you take that generalization, you could guess that they are earning $1.50 for every subscription. But that doesn't consider the budget of the game, only the profit in continuing its operation and maintaining it. In an MMO, the value you're paying monthly for is content updates and customer service. EA uses that profit to cover the sunk costs involved with creating the game in the first place (the budget) and to fund future projects. Games like Mass Effect 3 don't have a monthly fee because there's far less customer service required, much less content development (which is not included in the original purchase cost, so therefore is a self-sustaining investment vs. something like releasing a free patch for a released non-subscription game, where no more revenue can be made except from future purchases). And for what it's worth, EA's been losing hundreds of millions of dollars every year for several years.
  4. All that and you forgot one big thing! Sheldon, Leonard, Raj, Howard, and Bernadette - that's 5. Where's the Fact Checker Unit when you need it?!
  5. That's crazy! 153 people in fleet? On Republic?
  6. Is it feasible in a game like this or in MMOs in general? By user-generated content, I mean something that would include a campaign editor and would include short, episodic adventures that could be repeated with very little reward other than enjoyment. I'm talking like Neverwinter Knights campaign editor, Warcraft III custom maps... that kind of thing, but with an MMO in mind. Imagine going through a flashpoint that is user created, with stories that are rich and fulfilling (likely not voiced) with dialogue-filled cutscenes. Boss mechanics would likely not be something that would occur, but people can be extremely creative when given tools like this. With that kind of content generating, we'd never be short of stories and enjoyment. Is this in the realm of possibility, and would you be interested in something like that? Disclaimer: I do understand that, if it is possible, it would take a lot of time and resources, and certainly wouldn't happen any time before an expansion hits.
  7. I've got 3 level 50's, and this is the reason why. The 10-49 bracket is so much fun. And I don't mean when you're 40+; I mean even at level 10, 15, 25, it's still fun. The second you hit 50, you feel like a waste of space on your team. Like a detriment to their success. You're not alone. If something doesn't change with the level 50 pvp, I'm going to log on for raid night to hang out with some friends, and that's it. I wonder how long that'll last before we all get bored of that.
  8. I found that fight to be quite manageable on both my Juggernaut and Operative. Are you level 50 and using the right companion? Try using a stim/medpack, and if that fails, bring a friend. Not sure if you're trying to grab more than one crafting skill, but you can't do that. Ideally, you'd have a crafting, gathering, and mission skill. I believe you can mix it up and have more than one gathering or mission skill though, but not more than one crafting. Unfortunately, you cannot add your alts to your friends list because the person being befriended must be online. However, you can certainly mail stuff to them. I don't understand how being unemployed could possibly help educate them on the business world.
  9. Race change - either a one time change to a new race offered by the system or a series of dailies/commendations that allow for a race change. Or even dual race. *GASP* Credits shared amongst all characters, no more mailing or even depositing in a shared bank. Appearance tab New dances Cool social outfits I'd say Gear manager, but I don't think that should be legacy exclusive
  10. I'm not whining. I recorded the footage, or did you not read the post? I'm saying from experience (2 50's, an Operative and a Juggernaut, and soon to be this PT), that certain classes get medals far easier than others, and it creates an unbalanced reward system. Your example of it being a 1-2 medal difference when it comes down to it is something to be looked at for people balancing the system. The average person gets 4-6 medals. 1-2 medals is a 25%+ difference in medal gain. And it's not a 1-2 medal difference. Have you played other classes to see the difference? The fact that the same person (me) can get 9-11 medals every game with little effort and then play a far more geared healing class and get 4-5 with much more effort is the point.
  11. Still not getting it, I guess. With the healing medals, it's hardly an exploit. Legitimately obtained item used in Warzones, absolutely should not award medals, but it does. At this point, I wouldn't call it anything but an oversight that will be fixed soon. For the "full-tard" you mentioned, sure. The guy didn't use his CC breaker. That was his mistake. But these people are everywhere... to say that you wouldn't get a killing blow and a 1v1 medal in a whole game is silly. The point, sir, is that medals are insanely easy to get as a certain role versus other roles. I don't even know what you're arguing. He got 7 medals, but 4 of them don't really count? lol
  12. That's the point... Didn't do anything special, but got 7 medals in one minute. Compared to other classes that cannot do that. Do you see the point of the thread yet?
  13. I really like the new medals and system you have here. I really hope this gets a bit of notice and gets built upon to build a system around what you have here.
  14. I hate to point it out again, but 5+ medals for a game is a bit of a slap in the face when you take a look at the video. 7 medals in just under 1 minute vs. 5 medals for a whole game. All because certain classes get medals easier.
