  1. At least they buffed healing a bit. I am used to get a concealment nerf every patch. Nothing new. Our energy mechanic is still a problem but they wont change it anytime soon because they wont admit it didnt work out and classes have to be different. The real joke especially for rated warzones like huttball is still our lack of (pvp) utility. Its actually knockball or displacementball. Could anybody link me the list of new utility skills we get 1.2? Our lethality tree doesnt work at all in pvp. Its a leftover shared tree designed for snipers. Could anybody link me the redesigned lethality tree please? My mage in Rift was 2x buffed and 2x nerfed and BW cant fix a tree after 4-6 months?
  2. Georg could have all my credits but he keeps nerfing my operative damage and I cant find the list with much needed new utility skills. He can have my stuff so. My sub runs out on tuesday and so many new titles are around the corner. I will play Mass Effect 3 a bit until I can get my hands on Secret World, Diablo 3, Guild Wars 2, Planetside 2. Innovation and communication is key and one patch every 6 months is so 90s anyways. Check out Rift if you want a proper patch speed and good dev communication on the forum.

  4. Granted Georg tries to be funny but I really wonder why nobody at BW comes to the right conclusion. Perhaps the lack of communication leads to the described wrong speculations? Talking about design and balance details too early is of course wrong because its very likely you have to change around things after some testing. The conclusion to say nothing at all and let your player base in the dark for 2-3 months and at some point just release 1.2 and see what happens is even worse so. A MMO in 2012 should go with active class dev leads to discuss problems on the forum, track bugs, make wishlists, filter good ideas and perhaps even implement some of them. All I see here are very active moderators closing and moving threads. Even constructive ones. Sorry but I came from Rift and devs there are actually reading the forum and they are allowed to answer. A "we dont have the resources right now but X is on our list or Y is working as intended or Z wont change anytime soon because we think its fine as it is" is alot better than silence. "We know it best" is very dangerous too. Perhaps you think you know what players want but well sometimes a good design idea is just good in theory. There is a difference between the designers like it and the player base does. I guess at some point somebody at BW thought Ilum is an amazing idea or orange items are so much better than a silly appereance tab ... well until another guy came up with set boni.
  5. The real question is ... where are all these little stones coming from? Maybe you can pull a rock out of the ground but breaking apart the stone to form 100s of little stones would take alot of time. Suggestion. Make this ability a 1 minute channel with damage after 45 seconds (preparation time).
  6. Stick to religion. I pray every day for a beta invitation to some of the many cool games coming this summer. This year will be packed with real MMOs, F2P titles for Mechwarrior, Planetside 2, Diablo 3 and much more. So if you are bored ---> dont play. Who is forcing you?
  7. I wouldnt mind just a "delay" but sometimes I want to use my probe and nothing happens. GCD starts but my character just stands around because the game cant find a cover spot and instead of just going down and switching my bar it just does nothing at all until I move a bit and hope for the best. Remove the cover requirement from the probe for operatives. Only one skill that needs cover is silly anyways. Its a leftover from one of the many bad design choices. Most of the shared trees are in favour of one AC. It feels like a design idea and they hadnt the time to finish it and iterate it before release. Lethality feels like a sniper tree and doesnt work well for operatives. Another example are orange items but you cant remove a set bonus or armor leading to clone wears at level 50 or the bad stats on highend gear. At some point accuracy and alacrity was/will be usefull perhaps but right now most ACs have to change the mods and enhancements for best results.
  8. It feels a bit like BW designed 20 utility skills and started to assign them to classes. Its Star Wars so lets start with inquisitors ... ups 11 skills gone ... sith warriors ups another 6 gone. Ah well lets give at least knockbacks to BHs and 2 more gone. Oh crap we are out. Doesnt matter IAs have crazy burst and a flashbang. They wont need utility. Wait we still have "pull friendly". Hmm. Just bash it into the sorcerer detaunt could be nice for huttball. But Sir they already have a bubble and force speed and GZ showed up and told us to nerf IAs burst to hell! Not our problem! The player base prefers lightsabres anyways. But but whats their role then? Their healing is very weak too and they still have a broken talent in the healing tree to improve their HoT! I have no time for this. Nerf them NOW! Fix their talents 2-3 months later. What about the broken sorc spells like double casting heals and force lightning? Low priority fix it 1.2 or 1.3 who cares as long as they are happy. And dont forget the IA story is amazing! Some fools will play it and reroll! Thats perfect because we dont have endgame content anyways. Rerolling is good! Nerf them more!
  9. What you are saying is "I have no clue" and your point is "I am soo good I can make every class work so there are no underpowered classes". Ok mindtrick. We clone you and you play against yourself. Operative vs one of the really strong classes. Who would win?
  10. Maybe nobody wants to play Reps because they are not so smart and use every chance to jump a valid post to whine about the faction imbalance. The OP has a point and it actually doesnt matter on which map it happens because it can also happen on huttball empire vs empire. A game should never start with 4-6 vs 8. People shouldnt be forced to fly around in voidstar and land 5 seconds after the round started and run against the shield while the bomb is planted. The game looks for players and starts when enough are around. Perhaps some are afk or dont want to join anymore but thats no reason to start a game 4 or even 6 vs 8. Easy solution just delay the start of the game until both sides have 8 players. Easy. Remove the flying part in voidstar or time it better at least. Easy.

  12. OP has a point and its actually an obvious one. Sorcs are the best healers for PvE single target and especially AOE. You can crunch numbers to show it but the real problem is the flexibility. Sorcs can spam at will and cover AOE. Operatives can spam too ... like 5 times before they run out of energy and AOE healing is non existant. On top you could start to compare utility and again the sorc would win by a large margin PvE and especially PvP. Huttball anyone? Mercs could use some tweaks too (like AOE) but at least the geared ones are unkillable in PvP. Every operative with only one big heal would kill for more tools and utility or the merc immunity against interrupts. One interrupt and an operative is shut down and HoTs vs bubble is a joke. Sorcs just use their bubble as oh **** button and spam their big heal twice in 1.5s because its bugged for ages and nobody cares. BW has to make up their mind. They copy and paste everything anyways so copy the healing roles of EQ2 for 3 different healers (HoTs, wards, reactives for single target) or just make them equally good in single and AOE healing.
  13. I get your point but if you are cocky like: We have a lot of players at level fifty. I can't give exact numbers, but we have more players at level fifty than most MMOs have subscribers. (IGN interview) You also have to deal with the fact that a new company like trion was able to release 7! major content updates for Rift in 12 months. You can check Rifts anniversary dev video if you dont believe me. At BWs current speed you will see 2 updates (1.2 and 1.3) when they hit 12 months. TOR was released too early. Alot of the features of 1.2 should be in a release and alot of the bugs in operations and design flaws like Ilum shouldnt be. They should improve their workflow if it really takes so much time to fix bugs and exploits (WZ wins not counting, exploits, bugs in quests like the Ilum daily, double casting of sorc heals and lightnings ...) and test new content.
  14. I tried to explain why we need buffs healing wise and alot of people had better ideas to balance operatives in PvP than BW implemented. After all the nerfs to our damage without buffing our utility and no improvements to our healing situation I started to complain alot too on this forum (for around 2 weeks now). After the Guild Wars 2 press beta more and more videos showed up and I saw a cool mesmer pvp video and now all the anger just disappeared somehow. Its magic.
