  1. I probably need to add that it is HIGHLY desirable for thous mounts and armor to be unique to the crates - not stuff that you can get elsewhere. If they really can't model a few new ones than add some of the old cash shop mounts (thou I would consider that to be a lazy cope out). Not everyone will find it exciting - there are still people who just want their darn gear and no shiny will ever do, but an average and half casual player may enjoy the high quality "fluff". The gear drop rate is a whole different topic that everyone else in the tread already mentioned and I completely agree with the general sentiment...
  2. *Bumps head on table top* Just what part of NO RNG can't you get Bioware? Why would we want RANDOM gear pieces to drop from bosses? The whole point of the darn system is supposed to be to offset RNG but no, instead you add not one, but TWO new layers - drop% and a chance of it being a piece one needs. Who wants to bet that 5 days after the update there will be guilds that only get "glove pieces everywhere" and can't assemble a pair of boots for more than one character per week? Because OPS ARE weekly. With 8 people in them and only 1 truly specific drop it will take 2 month to get everyone a pair of boots... At this point the only thing I want is LESS RNG. This is going beyond even Korean models - I want to play and MMO RPG not go to the darn casino!
  3. THIS. And yes I understand the drops completely. I know that orange junk is not doping instead of set pieces and so on. The problem is that non gear pieces that do drop are BORING. The oranges are mostly ugly and as it was noted not even legacy bound. Not to mention that getting a full set of that boring orange junk is about as likely as getting a full gear set. So no use in ever keeping them. The gifts are worthless - I can buy 10 purple gifts on the fleet and all I need to do is 1 heroic run for that. Rep items are useless - if I need rep I'll get it by playing the game and doing dailies. Jawa junk is... Useless. Some purple can remain in the loot but no greens or blues please - I have crew skills to get the mats. Oh and pets... That are again useless - in this game they don't even auto loot AND you have to re summon them every time you change the zone... So basically nobody really uses them. If they wanted the boxes to be exacting the non gear drops should be something you WANT, something you are tempted to keep, not just automatic recycling garbage. 1. Full cosmetic armor sets. 2 Tuning items. 3. Decorations. 4. Mounts. 5. Emotes. 6. Toys. Just a few suggestions that make opening the crates you worked long and hard for feel fun and exciting. Considering the amount of time you put in to obtaining them the pay out should feel good and you should never recycle all but schematics without hesitation.
  4. I won't ask for any nerfs but buffing sorcerers dps is a must - being sub par dps is always frustrating and sorcerers hit the bottom in that respect this time around. Balance adjustments are necessary but this was not an "adjustment" it was darn nerf hammer. Bioware needs to learn some fines in balancing - adjust things little by little without going overboard and see how it impacts both PvP and PvE... Instead what we get is panic nerfs that run classes in to the ground
  5. This! I so want this - I love original class stories and would love to re play them. I know I can just roll an alt, but that is not the same - some characters are locked for me in my mind as MY inquisitor for example and I don't want to roll a new one, just see the story again... I can do without replaying the FE ever again, I would love to re play the class stories.
  6. Learning how to play and do OPS is one thing, grinding through convoluted systems that Bioware is going to mess up and change a couple month down the line? Nope. Getting new people in to raiding scene is complected enough in this game having to explain that you get a CHANCE for token to drop, that you than ROLL for (RNG+RNG) and than you need to GRIND CXP in order to use it because no, you can't just use the token? No other MMO requires you to grind to be able to use the gear you got in a raid. The idea is absurd.
  7. +1 to this! A simple system with no headache for anyone involved. Rewarding and solving a good deal of problems. Simpler IS better and this is clear and easy to understand for everyone.
  8. Well... To put it simply - they made GC trying to simplify the gearing process since they considered 4.0 to be to complected. What they are doing now is returning the same system with different names AND adding the command tokens to it. Making it MORE complected since now you need to both grind OPS or PVP for gear AND the CXP on top of that. The grind just got INCREASED. People only welcome it because it is better than pure randomness... But it's in no way good or a step forward. They added GC so ALL the activities you do can contribute to gearing process and be valuable to a player, and that was a great idea... Now we are back to flashpoints/upraising/heroics/starfighter/story being less value than OPS and PVP... Narrowing the choice of people who want to get gear and forcing them to re run the same OPS content for the thousands time... Instead of doing let's say uprisings - the NEW content that came out. So is it better than random? Yep. Is it good or satisfying? No. It just turned the whole GC in to yet another useless, over-complicated, redundant system in the game the we could do perfectly without.
  9. This - the whole DvL system is a separate thing that has nothing to do with gearing - if we tie it to DvL than grinding the loosing side bosses is the optimal way to gear. Imagine how "fun" THAT is going to be - not only you have to do it with a full group of people who are GOOD, thous are not easy to drop and you can't wipe, but they are althou open world and contested. It would be HELL. That and timing your CXP game to the period when YOUR side wins so you get the token on lvl up... Just NO. If we need gear tokens, make them separate and non related to DvL in ANY way shape or form.
  10. Well... Let's start with the fact that NEXT MONTH is to late for subscriber retention - people are subbed now and they are going to leave if nothing changes during their sub. That's a fact. Not many people in game even read the forums, so your promises of a bright future are not going to reach them. The activity drop is already visible, if you want to contain damage I'm afraid you need to cancel the holidays this year... But something tells me there is nobody in BW who understands just how deeply you dug this pit. Having sad that let's move to suggestions and reminders, as well as basic math. 1. REMINDER - the set bonus gear set is not a FULL set of gear a player needs for running max difficulty content and command boxes are the ONLY source of non crafted high tear gear. That means you get your main hands, your off hands, your relics, implants and earpieces from them as well - they don't drop anywhere else. You can buy some of that from people who farmed schematics in operations but that costs millions and millions for full set - not something you can expect an semi new player to be able and willing to pay. They have to be able to acquire this items from GC or the system is pointless. So ACTUAL FULL SET consists of 7 set pieces + 2 relics + 2 implants + 1 earpiece + 1 main hand + 1 offhand = 14 gear pieces. 14 not 7 . And remember that field respecialization is a thing - there are plenty of people who run dual classes and can re spec to healer/dps/tank on the go depending on the needs of the group, but need two gear sets for that. And yes we want people to do that - every time you are waiting for a pop because there is no tank/healer you WANT people to be able to switch. 2. REMINDER - There are 5 tears of end game gear. While we are all up about 230 atm. there are althou 234, 236, 240 and 242. And while I'm guessing the 236 and 242 are not supposed to be full sets (it's legendary gear and something tells me you are only supposed to get pieces of it to combine with purple tires) we still are looking at a monstrous amount of re gearing... - So... Token ides - the ones that say you need to get token you can trade in every few levels need to account for the actual number of hear gear - 14. Tire one (230 gear) is 1-90 command levels. 90/14=6.42 add the fact that having the store will mean that people will buy WRONG things from time to time, especially new players and the need for at leas some leeway for extra pieces and I'd say we need a token every 5 levels. For this system to work properly. - Time lock outs ideas (like allow to buy one piece of gear a week) - 4 weeks in a month 14 gear pieces means 3.5 month for ONE gear set. Withe 5 gear tires out there. 3.5x5= 17.5 month for gearing. 1 and a half YEARS to BUY you gear? I think no. So I'd say give legacy bound tokens every 5 command levels. At levels 1-90 Tire 1 tokens, at levels 91-180 TIre 2 tokens with a chance for a Gold token drop (the gold token can be exchanged for Legendary gear as opposite to normal Artifact) and 181-300 TIre 3 tokens with a chance of Platinum token (exchanged for 242 gear). The chance of Gold and Platinum tokens should be based on activities done to receive the level - if the person have done operations and high level difficulty content while earning the level the chance should be higher, if you just did heroics, unranked warzones and story mode flaspoints/uprisings the chance should be at something like 1%. If you did Nightmare ops to get there and ranked in top 100 in PvP it should be at around 50%. This way people will have initiative to re run highest difficulty content for chances at Legendary gear. The Legacy bound tokens and the fact that you get a little more of them that you absolutely need for one char will althou mean that you can gear your other characters while playing the current one. Or use alts to get second sets of gear on lower tires. And this way the command level can remain character based - if you play your main enough you will be able to deck out as many alts as you want in top tear gear eventually and YES you should get a token every 5 levels even after hitting the command level cap of course. And the bottom note - CXP gain needs to go UP. - The gold mobs - the cartel market boost is useless. You can't get 0.5 CXP so either bump the mobs to minimum of 4 or increase the boost to 50%. That's the BASIC math. - If story is supposed to be a valid re playable content it needs to start giving proper CXP - currently it's laughable. What is it 100 per chapter? With people needing 4540 EXP for level at rank 30, so we need to re play the chapters 450 times to get a level... That is absurd. - Star Fortresses CXP gain - again a joke. It's a good, solid 1, 2 player content and relatively new, yet running it awards you... 100 CXP per run. Again - look at the math above. 500 per run is a minimum here I think. With a weekly quest giving a healthy bonus NOT 20 CXP. - Heroics. Single heroic should give at least 200 CXP on top of the planetary quest. Same for dailies - 200 CXP per quest minimum. As average command level for players grow the current cxp gain becomes a joke. And the last BIG one: It was the intention that the player should gain 2 levels per hour of intense playing, so get to it - at the moment it is more like 1 crate per 2 hours if you are lucky. And when you are balancing the numbers do remember that the aim is to make the experience bearable for people on MAX level NOT lvl1. Which means you need to do your math with 4990 cxp per level in mind not 610...
  11. Yep, because YOU assume that everyone who is here does not value heir time it is logically evident that you do not value yours since you are here and think that being here is and indication of a persons time being cheap. See the logic? It's YOU who dad that your time was irrelevant. Not me. And on that note, I'm off to do anything else but wait for a overextended panic maintenance N10 to finish.
  12. 1st Never assume the value of other peoples time. The fact that yours is cheap (since you don't appear to value it) does not man other people are the same. I'm here because as every human being I need stress relief once in a while, and I like to get my by playing games. Aside from that you know nothing about me, so try not to get personal. 2nd This game is FULL of holes - if you think that this exploit is the only one, the last one or that they EVER going to fix all of them you are naive. Every game out there has issues and this one has issuesx10 for every exploit they find there are 10 people are not bragging about. Dealing with them quietly and on the go is what Bioware needs to learn.
  13. Why exactly? The punishment as stated is a reset of command rank and removal of all rewards with a possible ban. A post that says "don't do it people" is more than enough to keep honest players out of trouble, the non honest ones are not going do do any damage in 12 hours or so until the proper maintenance and they will be out after. This is not a first MMO that has an exploit in it, neither it is the last and dealing with the exploits without hysterically pulling down the servers every day is something management has to learn how to do. What's the point of the game you can't even play because it's DOWN all the time? Waiting on Bioware is not why I'm paying for sub.
  14. Jawa junk? Seriously? THIS is why on top of every other crap you done we are not even able to play now? Of ALL the issues this game has, of EVERY bloody thing you have broken and messed up it was the JAWA JUNK that you NEEDED to fix RIGHT THIS MOMENT? Your priorities are so far off we have to count it in light years Bioware. There was an exploit? Fix it TOMORROW in a regular patch, and deal with offenders, don't bring the servers down over it - people are pissed off enough as it is.
  15. @ Edyn I do understand the frustration - I want my original companions back as well. Badly. But I althou take it to account that the Fallen Empire story line was ALREADY in progress - they could not just dump it half way, could they? It had to be concluded and what they did is the FIRMLY put an end to it - you sorted out the issues and put all the dots over i. If you read the letters you will notice that it seams to be gearing up to return to empire/republic dynamic and I fully expect the next installment to finally deal with the missing companions, especially since the author who wrote them in the first place is back to pick it up. So yes, there are things I want to see happen, things I can guess about and it's by far now over yet. But I have a good reason to be confident that the story is going to fine from now on - I liked the original stories and in this one I recognize the style I loved in them. So story wise we just need to give them time to produce it. The question is wither the gamplay will destroy the game before that happens.
