  1. Have they suddenly taken away the slots you get as a sub or any you've already paid for? No? Then there's no problem with them expanding and not giving you free stuff you haven't paid for, because they're offering a new event where your monthly cartel coin grant covers a new slot. It has nothing to do with having no empty slots now.
  2. You know most of us are happy to pay real $ and buy these rewards directly and then pay real $ again to unlock them in collections? I honestly don't know what you're unhappy about since GTN prices are still sky high and people have unlocked quite a few of these packs which turn out to be simply gamble boxes you can get 100% trash from and most people will stop trying after the first few tiers.
  3. Who know people are vulnerable- I think the spam has increased. They want to cull inflation on GTN, they need to have a rotating set of armor/mounts/crystals that are sold through the Cartel Market. The drop rates on some of the oldest, most expensive stuff is so rare that people stop buying gamble packs before they show up most of the time and are burnt permanently by them or they buy the packs off GTN to avoid spending cartel coins. If an armor set shows up on rotation for a week on the Cartel Market, Bioware would get a nice mix of income from GTN players and those who actually want the set and then will pay again to unlock it in collections. There are always players who will miss the item's sale and pay silly prices for it off GTN but it would alleviate the inflationary stupid prices and get more sales overall- and incentivize people to spend extra coins rather than hoard them until they can pay things purely through monthly sub allowances. As for the claim that ready availability destroys an item's value on GTN? Just look at the various unlocks and passes, available at your expense, on the GTN or Cartel Market. They aren't exactly going at a bargain rate but the constant access keeps their prices at least some of the time from inflating out of control.
  4. XP expendables, Kreia's lower body armor, Ceremonial supplementary armor, two speeders and some orange-red crystal I'll never use... I hope when I hit fifty it's better but I'm doing this for the companion for all my characters and I think legacy wide XP armour, don't know, haven't reached 50 yet to get any pieces. Kind of a yawn, think the people worried about it wrecking the GTN economy were worried over nothing but it's a character I was going to play regardless.
  5. Referral codes don't unlock anything- only an actual sub unlocks the content, why don't you buy the epic XP pack off Origin- it's really good; two months, extra cartel coins on top of the monthly grants, plus a free XP pack that seems to get mailed to every character. The only downside was that included my two 65s which meant it was absolutely worthless until they raise the level cap for them, everyone else benefited though. I wish there were more sub packs available on there since it comes in my currency- when August comes, I have to do it off here to get another two month block and the cartel coin pack.
  6. Have you done the final boss for the Warrior or Inquisitor post level sync? These are such a cinch that I felt like I had just eaten the cake like in the Alice: Madness Returns game where Alice goes giant size and squishes the Executioner beneath her foot. I'd like those fights to be fixed because I'd like to legitimately beat them. I have never had a problem as a level 65 on Korriban. The only thing I'd like is my threat level to be larger as a 65 so I can avoid wasting my time on mobs I have no interest in because level sync decreases the distance before you trip them off.
  7. Um... do you sell these items on the GTN? All it does it let people get armour set parts and other items that are bound, dyes can't be unlocked and the event will only run for a handful of months. They will get cash inflow from people using cartel coins, real dollars for unlocking the collection (which a lot more people want to than can because some item are insanely rare and priced where people would happily buy them straight off the Cartel Market) and once that's dried up, items will go back to their normal price... and individual pieces that complete a set will go up on GTN because people will need them to complete their sets. Trust me, someone who really wants a Kylo Ren style lightsaber will probably miss out and be dependent on the GTN and someone like me who wouldn't be caught dead waving one about will probably get one. These items are bind on pickup and only have a limited effect on the economy based on the people who want certain pieces getting them through the the LS/DS packs.
  8. I know, but I love donating to my guild and not so much taking- I'm like that about some things in real life too. I get stubborn and determined or annoying, depending on who you ask. But I completely agree with your last statement- while I might say the group heroics, it's only in comparison to solo as I blame the credit sellers heavily (I hate them, to channel Anakin for a moment with the right whiny/angst inflection) and am positively seething at the moment when this got put down/will be fixed in a few weeks when the credit sellers spam my inbox and will every day till then... I tear up slightly every time I get a message and it's just someone telling me how cheap it is to risk my account and my details. I can't understand why you would risk so much to buy credits and it annoys me that they carry on untouched while players who are legitimately earning their credits are affected. This would be my first time doing them all once this nerf is reversed- I think I've done almost half of them in the past. The most I've ever had is 6 million credits (earned over multiple weeks and via GTN sales as well), mostly because it took me a while to hit a 65 because of gaps in playing and then a 65 I felt comfortable going faster than snail pace on who tried out the heroics. Most of that went to an armour set I really wanted. Also because I've got a bad habit of buying people's grand chance cubes on GTN, hoping for that one item that scores big.
  9. It's part of the reason I don't feel bad for my main alt in this event to be the dark side Warrior playthrough since I'm all for the Empire having the upper hand. What can I say, it's a much more interesting dynamic than the Republic... but I don't think either side should be left in an untenable decision based on one event, even were our older characters and their choices got counted.
  10. Until it's the bonus that likely triggered the nerf in which case it hurts solo players and keeps the main problem intact. I couldn't care less otherwise if I'm earning a smaller amount than a group for a heroic- I do when it's caused the developers to try and pull this on heroics when apparently the main 'too many credits out of line with the game' issue remains with grouping. On a broader scale, I solo and do group play- I solo on heroics and both play styles are supported, I do group stuff- I love playing with my guild but I sub for my own personal enjoyment. I resubbed for both styles being supported, I hope like anything that when summer hits where I live I don't get the migraines I did like last summer so I can remain subbed past end of October on two month non-recurring subs and then pick a six month option when the weather cools down. This game, like it or not attracts people like me who would never touch an MMO under any other circumstance- I still wouldn't touch another MMO and while I'm happy to do group stuff on my own timetable, I certainly wouldn't consider subbing as much as I want to for this game to be like all the other games I groaned, rolled my eyes and told friends I'd rather do laundry over playing. As long as this game supports soloing as much as it does, it will continue to get me coming back and subbing to it when I'm able. I wanted to start trying out Operations and I can't justify the gear repair costs until Heroics are back intact.
  11. 2x xp experience would be nice to cut down on time per subsequent characters- 12x xp is excessive, honestly- I mean pre-4.0, I loved it but now... 2x xp would be better but the 12x xp would be too excessive with levelling now.
  12. I'm so glad to hear they're getting fixed. The problem's not Heroics so much as the group up multiplier and while I'm worried they'll try and sneak the change back in later, I'm actually going to do a full Heroic run and time myself as well as count the credits I'm rewarded when they put it back as to show once and for all that to earn every last credit scrap throughout the heroics takes far too much effort compared to grouping. It'd help if someone could do the grouping equivalent. Why am I happy but frustrated and scared they'll do it again? I was running the heroic on Ilum and the bonus stage/quest popped up. I was like 'cool, maybe I can increase the total rewards'... the reward was about 3.5 k and I nearly screamed. It was more effort than the entire heroic comparatively and a waste of time. It's only the first few worlds that are a cakewalk for a 65 solo on Heroics... Corellia's only reward when back at pre-nerf values are at about 14k and are the definition of grind factory. Most of the heroics are hard work for a solo player and I say again, it's the grouping rewards that are far out of proportion if people can advertise a full group doing one world's heroics for 500k+ which causes gaming of the system.
  13. I created a character I was going to anyway and had to waste time jumping onto my main to get a fellow officer to invite my new alt in my guild because I kept getting invites and couldn't invite myself. Some people would just be joining your guild to get an XP bonus until they can join another or as someone else said, take advantage of the XP boost to level and then leave. It's only good recruiting wise if you can net actual new players... that's how my main guild got me. I wasn't exactly new/ nine month mark but I hadn't done any of the world bosses or activities you can with eight plus players and they had things running which were fun and I enjoyed myself. If you guys are just recruiting and not running any activities, you are going to lose a lot more players than just the ones that go inactive so keep that in mind.
  14. I have no idea, I re-subbed on Wednesday night and it wasn't in my launcher beforehand.
  15. I don't know either, when I first subbed last year, I didn't click on a referral link until afterwards, and unless people get cartel coins when someone who used their link re-subs over half a year later. I was happy in that case, I wasn't given a million credits to click anything though- they helped me out when I was interested in trying this game out so I was disappointed I could only get them free items and not the cartel coins. Don't you only get the cartel coins if they sub afterwards- I can't remember, I only had one person click mine in the past and they never subbed.
  16. Me too, I won't go buy credits but for people who are paying for this game for the more or less solo experience, this is probably a very weak moment for the farmers to slip in.
  17. And I like the event- I don't like signing onto characters after the Heroic nerf and the gold spammers are still at it and their position has been made more attractive to the people this hurts so I doubt inflation will get touched. My feelings for the event and for the heroic nerf are wildly different.
  18. My plan was to buy four slots total (just bought three at a lower price than I was expecting), expanding my total by four whenever I'm unsubbed to twelve (although hopefully not for a while again), I don't have has many characters to even fill the eight I had whenever I'm preferred (playing since last July) but there is always going to be a finite amount of characters per person, server stability wise. While I wish all characters could contribute conversation points and for people who have all slots filled, it's bad they have to wait to see if they can participate without character deletion or moving server but it's not like anyone has undone however many characters you've played. They're still all yours, and any extra slots that become available- it's not like they aren't available to purchase. But it's not like anyone who is gifted a character slot now would happily give it back at the end of the event, at the end of the day, we pay for every character above our max.
  19. I was obviously grinding wrong since I've heard the grouping mechanics/heroic rewards were untouched. As a solo it let me earn but doing heroics solo with your companion takes time and while I could make perhaps a million plus a week, it involved hours of grind work I could be doing something more fun with. It'd be difficult solo pre-nerf unless you're farming over many characters, in which case all you do is grind heroics and spend days on them every week on doing them all. In which case, you've more than earned the credits.
  20. Mine too and I'm quite sad because I saved up the credits so when I re-subbed I could have the precious and just sent them a ticket... can using a dye fake/fix it but look different colours or will it just keep reverting?
  21. Mine launched, but I did have the frustrating 'game is still downloading/only starter worlds' bug and it did it four times of quit/re-open until it finally sorted its drama.
  22. People are taking breaks, for the most part. If you want stuff, buy unlocks off the Cartel market, sell it on GTN for massive credits or buy cool gear yourself.
  23. I smile when people want to force others into grouping because this was an MMO before anything else, not the least of which is the fact this game came from two successful single player RPGs. So catering to both is really just honoring what the game was before it was remodeled into an MMO. We could go into the fact they could have released several new KOTOR installments, all seen as uber successful instead of a limping MMO which nearly died in its sub only days. I like playing with others when I feel up to it and pitching in when someone's stuck, it's vibrant and alive. That said, no one should be forced to play with anybody because they can't progress in ordinary class content otherwise. It's not like the OP will get any takers if they sprout this in general chat. I've played L4D2 versus- and this is making me miss that community. So no, OP, no one has to play with you and we'll play other games over playing with you. Oh, we still like this game and will find a way to move on and when cooler months and less migraines preside (Australian summer- just try playing while you're physically wrecked and overheated), I'll resume my subscription after it lapses on the 27th. But companion nerf or not, we're still not going to play with anyone who is so entitled they think that the developers should alter the game so people have no choice. Tip: There is a lot of people who will have no choice, hate it and they can play with each other and not you.
  24. I've had that before, just exit the game and start it up again and voila, problem solved.
  25. I thought one of the perks of a perpetual money stream between subscribers and the cartel market was the idea of the main website keeping its dedicated customer service forums. I'm not happy- they did this with Bioware's other boards and it's not nearly the same help with Answer HQ that there is on main boards.
