  1. I think an approach ala SWG or Battlefront would be a better fit for this game. Getting the ship off rails to begin with is a better idea and opening up space will make MANY players happy, even the chickens that are posting here LOL . I know some folks want old school Xwing-type flight mechanics to play, but that scares away the novice player. I think a better example would be a old DOS game I played back in the day called "Elite", where you lifted off, flew out of the atmosphere, traveled and landed accordingly under your control. That type of approach would work and give more freedom to everyone who chose to engage in it..
  2. This is one of my large bully pulpits in this game (besides character customization). I'd like to see more of a "free range" flight engine similar to SWG or even Battlefront than "Super Starfox Adventures Of The Old Republic". I'd like the ability to jump aboard my ship w/o a cut scene take-off sequence, as that's a cheat in my book, and have some "real control" over my ship from take off to landing and everything in-between. The same goes with combat, less pre-render rail shooting and more free motion, thats what the SW universe is built on..
  3. I don't mind hearing my droid chirping those always-pleasant Anthony Daniels recorded comments, but sometimes i'd prefer it to be a little more hushed. Also, why is it always standing around, shouldn't it be working by cleaning up my ship or doing my wash?
  4. This had to be one of the dumber design moves i've seen in any game. It needs to be remedied in an upcoming patch that's tested properly before launch, we don't want any clipping issues w/ the jedi and sith
  5. From what I understand, This is one of the top suggestions for Bioware to change in-game. Im in agreement, i'd like much more control over my ship, not just in combat. I'd like to see something along the lines of a hybrid of SWG, Xwing Vs Tie and an old school game called Elite, which allowed you to control how your ship fared in space. Im also a fan of battle damage (i.e scoring, scrapes) and wear/tear over consistant use. Like you personal gear, which you need to repair after battle situations, ship maintenance should become part of game play. I'd also throw in some sort of on-ship animations of your crew/droids repairing on-ship systems/battle damage as well, instead of your toons just standing around and doing nothing, they did more than that in Mass Effect guys.. Lastly, lets start allowing folks to have more than one ship besides your base unit, I've seen some pretty dang awesome ships in hangers around the game so far, I'd like the ability to both own and pilot those other craft at my leisure w/ cockpits and layouts similar your primary vessel..
  6. While I love SW:TOR for its amazing stories and worlds we visit, I have a suggestion that will make this game better. As a vet of many other MMOGs, I found a function in one I play in tandem with this title (DCUO) which has an amazing feature: Allowing you to keep your look, even when you load out w/ higher level replacement gear. I know the subject has been breached before, but why was this feature not included in the game? It would be an excellent idea for a future version release, as I know many would enjoy this option. Thanks for making an amazing game and I look forward to all the future content you can provide!!
  7. I rank the game a 9 out of 10 for two huge reasons: A) Ship/Space: While this was done with some decent effect, im awaiting further abilities w/ my ship, including the ability to not only have more control over my vessel in space/low orbit (i.e. non-starfox piloting/cut scenes), but the ability to own more than just one ship(shuttle, transport) as i've seen some pretty awesome models for the republic and empire out there in various hangers around the galaxy. I'd also like to see the ability to actually make my craft be truly my own, by allowing the ability add trophies/rewards to the ship, not to mention a fresh coat of paint with my guild/ insignia. If STO can do this, why cant we in a Galaxy Far, Far, Away... B) Character Building/Look: When it comes to my choice of fashion in game, I and many others would like to stick w/ one look throughout the game, abeit with the changes you might experience w/ higher lvl gear. While games like DCUO and others have done this successfully(i.e. keep your look w/newer gear), I find it strange that SW:TOR seemed to skim over this. Even w/ the engine this game uses, you could set the option to allow the use of newer gear stats and keep the look you want..something to consider for a game update..
  8. Same here, im running the same mouse but missing mappings as well..would appreciate a fix
  9. Entountered this a couple of times on sunday and yesterday. Im guessing its code that needs to be patched properly
  10. JTL had its pluses/minuses, especially w/ ship to ship combat, I like the look of TOR, but i'd rather be fighting w/ that beauty in a free-space environment. Here's hoping thats on the list..
  11. I know, theres been talk about a major update for space coming in the new year, but im curious, what would you like to see in this upgrade: More Ships (i.e. Newer/upgraded vessels w/ more space, ability to acquire/fly shuttles, fleet building) More interactivity(Ability to use in-ship resources such as beds, couches, holochess, inviting other players over.) More travel functions (Free-travel between points from launch to land (i.e. lose the cut scenes), random battle instances instead of the current system) Just trying to gauge the response here as I know many folks here have their thoughts on this...
  12. I always enjoy these type of conversations when it comes to in-game economies. Great OP and dicussion points..
  13. Greatest. Thread. Ever..... I like jedi butts and I cannot lie...you other sith cant deny...
  14. Im currently lvl17, having fun as powertech, I wont sweat it, the games going to grow w/ new quests, PVP and other resources sooner than later. This is just launch, wait and see how much better the game gets or just roll another character..
  15. This is an interesting idea, seeing that BW/EA have been making in-roads via mobile gaming, this wouldnt be that far out of the realm of reality. I'd prefer to send my charges on missions while I was at work or elsewise away from my machine.

    Droids

Right now, I believe that option isnt in-game. I and many others are hoping that comes out in a future DLC release, as i'd like to build my own T-Series, Protocol or Battle droids. This deserves a "throw it on the wall" for the BioWare gang to take on AFTER they get space worked out for extended travel AND customization...
