  1. How did you have a companion in this fight?.. no companions allowed... If you had a companion your cheating some how.. this is a SOLO fight..
  2. I'm not very happy with the reset of the achievements, and the wiping out of the acheievements...I wasn't exactly pleased with the LvD event anyway and now I got toons I made on other then my regular server which can no longer progress in their LvD achievments which means.. no XP armor .. All the other rewards frpm the LvD packs were so hit and miss as it was... not to mention un-vendorable, and un-sellable/tradable to other characters. "My" cCharacters, not to mention other players. I didn't get one single complete set of armor out of the LvD other then the XP armor... One of the reasons I don't buy cartel market packs is there are such a crap shoot. Remember, "Value" is relative..the adaptive levels and improves as you level XP armor set was awesome.. nothing else I got one other then a arbiters double bladed light sabre.. Yea, I'm going to get a companion out of it... great, wonderfull... I all ready have 26 availible companions on my main as it is now... Companions without a companion story line is really "Meh!" Anyway, said my piece... Please don't repeat this event in the future without some major changes to it system of rewards.. and don't tag it into the achievment system if your just going to take it away.
  3. Yea I noticed a bunch of that "heres some goodies to help" mail with nothing in em.... An artifact from early draft of the content that didn't ever get re editted and corrected from the original writing, or an oops?
  4. Hi, I'm an old guy. A Grandfather.. And quite possibly great grand father in another couple years or so. I've been table top gamer since before the first star wars movie, and a computer gamer back when computer gaming was playing "trek" and /hack on a university main frame. To the nay sayers, to the SKY IS FALLING crowd... Could ya ll just shut up? I mean ya know, really. Oh theres no new content.. uh yea there is.. the game is stale and no plays it any more.. No wrong, lots of people play it.. just no one plays it with you any more likely because you've turned into a negative elitist jerk all hooked into preening your ego's instead of socializing and enjoying what you have right in front of you. Two types of folks in the gaming world.. just two... Those that want to make the effort to help other people enjoy the game by getting them involved, and clued in, and run content with em so they can also get geared up to run end game content. That are friendly, social and all around positive folks ...and those that don't, and aren't. I'm in a guild that role plays.(some better then others). that does group PvE content, That does group PvP content (also some better then others) ..but, it's not a contest or a competition to see who's got the most awesome gear. We're all excited about the revamps to gear, and systems, and difficulty levels, and more story and lore. A little leery about the changes to class skills, but ya know, we'll see. Likely it'll be all good. You see something we all figured out.. your only gonna get as much entertainment out of the game as you put effort into it. It's not a race. It might be to some.. but not the folks I like to hang with. There's other types of MMO's that cater to the "Must have mad skilz" crowd (World of Warships and World of Tanks come to mind, and a but a dozen other titles I can think of off the top of my head) Lots of negative vibes on these forums. Gets old.. older then me. All sour ****, and negative. I guess it folks trying to prep them selves to believe a head of time that it gonna suck.. that way they wont be disappointed if it does. Few million people play SWTOR... pretty sure the vast majority of us love the game. And we're quite pleased with where the game has gone since launch. I wasn't even a subscriber until October last year as the game geared up for KOTFE. Though for the record, I've beenplaying since launch on and off. Now we get the next big story with KOTET.. and hey,, they even told ya cool part up front..YOU are going to rule the galaxy.. That's right YOU! And even more so, they've clued us in that what players DO (as a whole population), is going to effect the story arc in the future. Now that is like the coolest thing I've heard of in years. No one has ever really done it before. Will the light, or the dark dominate the galaxy? Don't know yet, but we're gonna find out over the next few months. I'm no fan boy, but I do pay attention. And the future is look'n pretty damd cool for SWTOR. Yea, it's no Star Wars Galaxies. SWG failed in the long run because it didn't talk to the dreams of the players to go be hero's. Really most of us do not want to play a gme set in the starwars universe were life is hunting womp rats, scavanging droids, and being crafters and merchants etc tec tec.. That's what we do in real life I played SWG back in the day.. totally lost interest in it about 8 months after it launched. It was booring. It wasn't the stuff great fantasies were made of. The hero's journey wasn't there.. Joseph Campbell would have been displeased! Years later we get SWTOR. Much better game. Yea it doesn't have anywhere near the sand box elements, but it does have story. It' has the hero's journey. You start as a sith acolyte, or a Jedi padawan, as an aspiring bounty hunter, or smugger, or republic trooper. are newly trained imperial agent. and even as a slave sent to Korriban to train as a Sith warrior. And along the way you eventually have a go at all the story lines for each of the classes and this tapestry of a story come together that tells the story of the Old Republic that predated the Galactic Republic of the Star Wars movies. And we see the origin of the Galactic Republic.. and can now surmise the the Galactic republic was formed from the uniting of the Sith Empire with the Old Republic, and apparently the Eternal Empire of Zakuul (not quite sure on that.. we haven't go all the story yet!)... oh yea, and at a guess YOU the players will be the one forming the Galactic Republic that will stand for a thousand years until the Empire is reformed by Palpatine from the shattered Galactic Republic during the clone wars and the galaxy enters a cycle of strife and warfare in the era of the movies. Man, talk about your epic story lines! Pretty difficult to get any more epic then that! The point of the game is to tell the story of the galaxy in it's repeating cycle of peace and war. (by the by, I strongly suspect that a year in the star wars universe is considerably shorter then a year in OUR universe. I'm wondering if we at some point are going to meet a young padawan named Yoda! He was a few centuries old by the time of the Star Wars movies after all. Anyway.. nuff of this for today. Tomorrow morning I will be starting my computer, kicking the launcher into gear and starting KOTET. And I'm expecting every bit as fun of a romp as the last year has been. Should keep me busy for another year.. Of course where the game goes from there is anyone's guess. TL_Roff sends Yea, SWTOR is cool with me.
  5. You need to actually get off your LAZY ***, and go read the fine patch notes. There is new group content, and new solo content, and story content, and gameplay mechanics, and updates to the game engine, and updates to the UI. A very very VERY big change is eleminating specialized PvP gear.. Gear is Gear is Gear.. BIG CHANGE! what the means is maybe, just maybe MORE PLAYERS WILL GET INVOLVED WITH PVP PLAY! seeing they no longer have to do a completely seperate gear grind so the have a PvP set to go wiht thier PvE set.. now they can be one and the same... MASSIVE CHANGE right there.. a big game changer right there. More players no longer stuck behind a gear barrier from taking part in PvP content when ever they want to. Ya know the devs have been over there on twitch.tv/swtor for the last month and some talking about the changes to the game. Have you NOT been paying attention. From the tone of your post.. I'd say you haven't been. A whole brand new end game system for getting gear for level 70 toons. 2 more planets to play on, More content scheduled for January that's going to be a further expansion to what all ready going to be on hand. 4 player group content that will test your mad skillz to the limit (why 4 player.. because you simpleton, it's a hella lot easier to get 4 players together then a dozen players. The onld massive group content will still be there but it's gonna get some changes to to.. you thought some of it was hard before? You aint seen noth'n yet. You really think Bioware has laid all the cards on the table? I don't.. they have never rolled that way. There is some stuff your gonna find out about ONLY by playing, just like always. there wont be a dev post or a blog about it other then a snickering "oh yea, you found that.. coolness, enjoy!' Go read the patch notes.. and bear in mind they are not telling us everything. Just Like Allways
  6. If there is no one raiding right now, I can tell you why... THEY ARE ALL WAITING FOR THE UPDATE WHICH IS GOING TO CHANGE BLOODY EVERTHING! Which has happened prior to every single last major content patch since the game launched year ago. Which is something that happens in every MMO on the market.. ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE ARE MAJOR SYSTEM CHANGES... like in this one... Jeez kid, don't be such a whiny pill! I am personally thrilled.. no more side by side gear grind/chases// PvP and PvE will use the exact same gear.. no more "special" pvp stat. One less barrier to players doing PvP... You don't wanna do raid content cuz of what? Your loss man. Whadda ya think they gonna up and dump a years worth of work on the game engine just because YOU don't like it.. Because YOU are inconvenienced? Hate to break it to you but they got a few MILLION other players besides your self that do play, and that ARE waiting with hopefull anticipation for the changes in this expansion// Oh yea, and in case you missed it... It's the holiday season. That does tend to distract folks.. what with ya know, family.. office parties ya know REAL WORLD STUFF.. I play this game for ME...I don't need to involve myself with other players if I don't want to.. I do how ever choose to do so. I've a toon on Harbinger in a guild that has about 60 some active accounts tied to it.. yesterday we did a crap load of group content.. just to do it... had some fail runs, and some good runs.. no big deal.. we did the runs to hang out with each other not because of awesome "lewtz" just about everyone in the guild had 65's with 220 gear all augmented to fair thee well.. Both PvP, and PvE gear. Been playing since launch.. only subbed myself October last year. I'd bet money I'm old nuff to be your grandfather. I don't answer to y guild, my guild doesn't answer to me.. it is a "Voluntary Association". Maybe you need to be asking the right people in your guild.. or, just a guess here, stop pissing off the folks in your guild that DO the content you want to do. Trust the old guy.. most folks when dealing with gimmie gimmie gimmie types in on games eventually just shine em on and stop inviting them to go do stuff because they're no fun to run with. Your post came across real clear to my old eyes as that of a Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie. It's not Bioware or EA's job to get you involved in the social content.. it's your job.. and if it's not happening for you then get the clue, your doing something wrong. Figure out what your doing wrong and do something about it. YOU do something about it.
  7. wow, a lot of posts in this thread! Ok I have my own take here as a Loyal Imperial player *grin* First of time scale.. Pretty sure that what you and I consider a period of one year is somewhat longer then a year in the star wars galaxy.. like twice as long... hard to say.. but I always felt there was some issues with the passage of time here. Onto the topic at hand.. The writing is on the wall here... the Sith Empire as we currently know it isn't going to last much longer... The Empire how ever will continue..It's uniforms, traditions, and titles obviously continued even into the era of the movies and the clone wars. So what I strongly suspect is that the Empire and Old Republic made peace and the empire was incorporated into the old republic as a semi autonomous state maintaining its traditions and titles. A number of planets maintained their alliance to the old empire and continued development of ships and technologies (it took years to build the first death star, and a number of decades of R&D just to develop, or rediscover the technology.. long before Palpatine overthrew the Galactic Republic and declared himself emperor) And a Note on the movies.. Anikin was said to fulfill the "phophecy of the one" or restoring balance to the force.. and he did. As he was remade into Darth Vader he also led the progom that virtually annihilated the Jedi order.. and essentially did eliminate the Order as a presence on the Galactic scene.. leavling in the end 2 Jedi. A Master, and an apprentice for both orders..eventually Palpatine was killed along with Vader, and niether the Sith or the Jedi could be more the a peripheral influence on the Galaxy. (but the Sith and Jedi are not the ONLY force users in the galaxy.. there are others, many others) the "balance" between the Sith and Jedi was restored... more or less. (hey more or less correct.. And I've got a nasty flu ths election day go easy on me! SUch fun to type and thing while running a fever) We've a bit to run yet on the story arc but I definitely see plenty of hints pointing toward the end of the Sith Empire..The SIth would tend to be a bit (a bit he says!) more combative the the Republic so undoubtedly there is a much greater resistance with the empire to the Eternal Throne. Most of the most powerfull Sith have died and the Dark Council assuming it even still exists in the current story line is very much a shadow of its former glory as of KOTET. The continued fighting with this the ranks of the Sith even further. I expect to see the Sith themselves decline even more on the grander scale, and we all know that the Jedi order expands greatly in size by the time of the Galactic Republic. However the Sith reign over the Empire. The true government of the empire is with the Imperial Governors and Darth's. There are even autonomous worlds with in the Empire giving their allegiance to the empire but other wise running their own affairs, and of course contributing to the Imperial budget. The great Galactic corporatons have also apparently existed from this period of history into the movie era. Sinar systems of Kuat for example, and a number of Corellia based corporations. (one of those little anomalies that tells me either writers are being lazy or the span of time is not as large as we assume) What of course concerns me here is how this will effect the story line of our MMO here. Now for the most part I assume that the sweep of history of this era is pretty charted out, and was charted out before SWTOR ever launched. Just the details have had to be sweated out. I think the one thing that will come out of this is the Empire's reputation as fighters, not always for the right "cause" but none the less fighters.. With the Sith order in taters I doubt it's be able to maintain political rule of the Empire. I suspect the Moff's will broker a deal with the Old Republic to formally and permanently end hostilities between them. I also suspect a lot of the remaining Sith to either get killed, join the Jedi order, or withdraw entirely from the Galactic scene. WIthout Valkorian/The Sith emperor's will behind the forces of the empire (which as been the guiding hand behind the sith and the empire since the great hyperspace war) the expansionist dreams of the empire just wont be as great a force as they have been. In the end though the Empire and it's ideals come out once again under Palpatine's rule.. So the Empire never really dies.. but takes a back stage on Galactic affairs for quite a long time...
  8. P.S. You really don't want me to come negotiate.. it will be painful, messy, and likely quite fatal.
  9. Query: Why as my master in the leader of a galaxy spanning alliance are there no crew and security personell assigned to my Masters starship? Observation: The ship is empty, and lonely. I have spoken to Master Shan, and Mistress Beniko and they have been unable to answer my inquiry on this matter. Expansion: My Master security s of utmost importance to me, yet even I cannot apparently take a duty station aboard. Exposition: This is entirely u- acceptable. If this matter is not rectified soon I will find it necessary to show up and... ...negotiate... with the meat bags responsible for this sad state of affairs.. Cordially HK-55 Personal guard and asasssin droid to the alliance Commander
  10. I am a subscriber and I'm not very happy with the LvD event... amzingly unhappy with it really. First off is much a subscriber only thing. I'm a retired game store owner and I do not like restricted content.. First off the mainproblem here is your selling it to people who are all ready subscribing to your game. I'd be mighty surprised if the LvD event actually gained SWTOR any revenue. I I'm sure it gained some. But I'll also bet real money the cost/benefit ratio utterly stinks. The event is simply to restrictive. I learned long ago in my table top gaming store that doing "events" That are inclusive are what make you money. It creates good will, community, and interest. The same comliant I have about the f2P restrictions.. they're simply to broad. for most of the years since launch Of just cycle toons through my account.. Sorry Bioware but for the previous several years before KOTFE you guys didn't make a penny off of me. Imight have subbed sooner but frankly the F2P restrictions put me off. I've always felt they were petty, elitest, and just plain mean. To exclusionary. Not inclusive.. And not really that much of an encouragement to play the game. Now SWTOR obvious competitor is Cryptic Studio's Star trek online. They have a F2P model thats amazingly non restrictive.. Now for the record in my humble, or not so humble opinion it's not as good of a game., and I am a life time subscriber to STO. Cryptic's product is no where near as polished, and as a business they frankly bull **** their customers on a very regular basis.. I really wish I had never bought that life time sub in retrospect. It was a waste of my gaming dollars and a poor product from a company that lied as misleads its customers even today. It's a bit of a habit with them. But, yet again there is no restricted content. Subscribers get earlier access to new content, and get a stipend of cash shop coin each month. They do have a lot of subscribers. F2P players how ever do get full access to all content usually about 1 to 2 weeks after the new content is released. And the f2P players are the ones that keep them in business. They make of the vast bulk of cash shop sales for them. I remember my first cash shop purchase. It was a set of armor I bought with Cartel coins earned from legacy achievements. I don't have the armor anymore.. not in amy collection. The character I bought it for was unable to equip it.. Why?.Because it required and artifact authorization. So I wasted 1200 cartel coins on something I could NOT use. That was hte day I decide to hell with Bio ware your never going to get a penny, not one red cent from me. And the only reason I am subscribed now Is my wife bought me the sub as a surprise for giving up smoking earlier this year. My current subscription has absolutely NOTHING to do with Bioware/EA's making stratagies. The few times of popped Cartel coins for lock boxes I haven't gotten crap from them. They are off my shopping list permanantly. They are a waste of my time to aquire. 'm plugging away at LvD but Ihonestly don't exepect to make another tier in the event before it ends..nor do I care if I do.. I'll plug away at it but its not my focus..There are several reason for this.. I have to make 1 of each class, they most all finish their class stories and make it to level 50.. one of each faction must make it to level 65. over all if you complete everything how many of those LvD crates do you get.. 50-60? And whats the chances of actually getting a complete set of lets say the Xoxaan's armor... 1in 100? 1 in 200? Honestly I'd surprised if its that good. I've opened 30 of the damd things.. 30 boxes and I got 7 partial sets of armor, and a jet pack. I no longer have any interest in this stupid LvD event.. It's an insult. It's a finger waving at end a voice sayiing .. "Come on, you want this, isn't it pretty? You want this" It's not generous.. and frankly its not fun. It yet one more "oh you gotta do this" Now I will say that the legacy armor that gives the XP bonus is nice. Acceptional even, assuming we get to keep it. I won't be the least bit surprised if it goes "poof" when the event ends/ The reason I won't be surprised it the way you handle your F2P. population.. But I also doubt that I'll complete the 5th tier of rewards for LvD either... And I no longer care.. The rewards are simply not worth the time and effort, and I don't like the fact that free to play players cant even take part in it not really.. because they can't get a toon to level 65 unless they sub.. To restrictive, insufficiently rewarding.. It just feels petty. I don't like it. and that reminds me.. I have some characters I made that I need to delete because they were made for LvD and I'm never going to finish getting them to 50 before the event ends. Not when O have several other ACTIVE l-65 toons that I want to gear up.. There is along long list of things in SWTOR I really don't like.. they are all things that excluse players instead in including them. The F2P revenue model tops the list. SO as long a my wife who has her own income chooses to pay for my subscription I'll be a subscriber. But the day she doesn't feel like renewing will be the day that I most likely cease to be a subscriber permanently. I'm my Guld mates will be mighty disappointing because I contribute a great deal to the community of players that make up the guild I'm in. I'm the go to guy for those with issues in the low level content.. I contibute to the gulds cofferes on a regular on going basis, and I help run the guild. But when the sub ends, not if, when because eventually it will not be renewed, I'll be back down to 2 characters I can play per server. And I don't even assume that I'll even be able to use any gear those toons aquire because I'll no longer be subbing. Greedy I can handle.. I've been a merchant real world. Owned a brick and morter and had a belly full of over priced junk peddled to me to sell to my customers. Petty how ever I draw the line at. And I feel that the f2P restrictions are just that Petty, and divisive. It's not something I am willing to support., so when the wife decides no more that will be it. No more money from this household. I may or may no continue to play at that point because of the play retrictions 'll then be undr.. Mostly i'll stop playing.. and just like ina brick and morter operation.. I likely will not be back. I don't see any incentive to me to continue playing once the account reverts which will eventually happen because there is no way I am going to spend MY money on this game. As for those of you fellow subscribers and customers who read this.. This message is for bioware and EA.. My views and opinions are my own If you agree great, If you disagree, that's also also great.. It's unlikely my opinion will make any difference at all in their business practice. It's not my fellow players I have an issue with. Also note F2P.. Can't post on the forums. (on top of not being able to get customer support when thereis an issue.. that 100 catrel coins mentioned earlier.. I couldn't recover them because F2P accounts are disallowed from curecieving customer support. This post is for them in their tens of thousands.. and they very seriously outnumber subscribers. I wouldn't be surprised if the ration of F2P to subscribers is 20 to 1 or worse! 50 to 1 wouldn't surprise me. Hell, 100 to 1 wouldn't surprise me. You only get to post if you pay them money so this post is for all those players you never hear from.. That boware an eat want to hear from.. Because they are going to say things the Bioware and EA are going to be very uncomfortable hearing. Yep, These are not the droids your looking for, we don't need to see your papers, Move along, move along. I'm a ex business owner and those jedi mind trick don't work for bantha poodoo on me. Don't let them work on you either. Be aware and see with clear eyes. What ever you do, don't prtend that everything is allright because it doesn't effcet you. SO many missed opportunities Bio ware.. and it wouldn't have cost you a damd thing
  11. *sigh* Ok guys just a clue here.. just because it looks like a low server pop doesn't mean it is a low pop server... It all depends on the time of day your own perception. also summer is ending.. peeps going back to school etc. Be aware of this. Part of the reason YOU might percieve it to be a low pop server is you can't find groups. Big clue here... A lot (as in at a guess 2/3 or more of the players on a server..usually more) of player do not like to group with player THEY DO NOT KNOW. so, they don't use group finder.. some flat refuse too.. I only use it myself when I'm absolutely desperate.. and I usually regret it. Pick Up Groups are a right royal pain.. F2Play customers can any go as far as level 50.. so you won't even see them cueing up for hard mode and most of the heroic mode FP"s they don't don't have the gear.. and they are not going to get the gear.. and the buff to give them more power so they hang with a group of L-l65' players is insufficient.. theres just things they cannot do. I've played on and off since the game launched and only subbed for the first time with the launch of KOTFE. Consolidating severs isn't going to change a damd thing. Easing up the restrictions on F2P accounts such as the level cap or access to content would do more to address your complaints about server pop then consolidating servers would. In my own case KOTFE interested me so I subbed.. The Reven story line never interested me. The Hutt story line never interested me..and a whole bunch of previously restricted to subscriber content didn't interest me, and until recently zero interest in PvP play, Galactic Star fighter or the ship combat system. I am far from alone. Just be aware that what you perceive isn't necessarily what really happening. Your perceptions are entirely biased by your own desire.. and I can tell that from the tone of many of the posts in this often repeated cry to merge servers. You don't see the whole picture...nor do you seem to realize that many players only sub and play when there is new content..assuming they like the content...I know of at least 4 people who subbed for KOTFE who wll be letting thier sub lapse this next month and will not be renewing because they didn't like the KOTFE story line... or the rewards from it. These other player (in the majority if its not obvious to you) could care less about what you want.. They want what they want.. It their money to spend. if there is any one reason as to why certain players can't seem to get groups.. it's usually attitude.. If YOU cant seem to find groups.. maybe your looking in the wrong place. Maybe you got a rep that's made its way around.. I don't know.. the only one might know is you. Grouping is "Social" play and far to many players are really rather ANTI-Social in their gaming habit.. ie: they are strutting tin plated dictators with delusions of god hood. I've run into far to many of em.. Its always someone else fault that the group failed.. they don't play fair, and they don't play nice and they are insulting little git's. Server Pop isn't the issue. Getting people to play socially is the issue. One jerk player can effect the enjoyment of hundreds of players in a months time if they're active. This effects and entire server rep for fun, for getting things done...and it can take up to a thousand other active playrs to off set the crap caused by a single person. It's not a ONE DIMENSIONAL problem.. and its really not one that Bioware and EA can fix...this one is on the players community. Grow up a little, pay attention and Be Aware. This poster is a 59 year old retired person who owned a game and hobby shop for most of two decades and is all to aware of the sort of bad attitudes gamer's can bring to the table and knows from first hand experience that most problems in a player community are caused by a small group of the population.. and that it is ALL WAY''s blamed on something else... a MMO operator, The Dev team/designers and in table top games it must be the store owner fault... It's NEVER that simple. Not ever. When I held tournaments in my store I told people to leave their crap 'tudes out side and I meant it.. and that why I ran a money making business for most of 20 years till I sold it for a tidy profit. If people won't game with you self- check your attitude and how you act toward others. most likely that's where the real problem is. If this hurts your feeling, deal with it. Your not my customer.
  12. I don't know quite what to do about players that do not have a legacy name.. maybe someone has an idea how to deal with that aspect.
  13. Recently listing the legacy name was added to the guild member listings. while lovely it's missing something. Many players will have multiple alts in a guild. My suggestion is and a number after the player legacy name to show haw many of that legacy (ie: that player) are in the guild. When you have 400 plus members in a guild you can end up spending a lot of time digging through the list to find every ones alts.. and its worse for players that have not named their legacy. Every now and again your going to run into players who insist on being trouble makers within a guild and you need to get rid of them. Being able to pull up a list of that players alts and mass kick them would be a very very handty tool.. Much as I hate to make a suggestion thats about the more unhappy aspects of dealing with social gamng there are times that the best way to deal with a problem player is to give em the boot.. and you dont want to be playing games with em for a wek as they log in with one of thier alts to disrupt guild chat and basiclly be a pill. It's sad, it happens. Best to give guild masters a way to deal with it in a speedy and efficient manner.
  14. Oh yea we are definitely not done with Scorpio by any means. Scorpio seems to like presenting her friends with fairly serious challenges. She is a machine and her core programming is "self Improvement". Think about it. She's not a human. So how would a being show it respect and what ever its analog for love to a person or entity it likes? The obvious answer to me is by giving that person an opportunity to grow in some way. Gemini is entirely amoral. It simply is not important to her other then when it effects her own goals.. and she plans way ahead, and is very very good at seizing opportunity. Remember who side she is on? Her own is what she tells you. Vaylin is sooooooo screwed. She pays right into Vaylins weaknesses, and presents her self to Vaylin as being manipulable. Now my Agent toon feels especially betrayed (especially after busting buns to get her to influence rank 37!) and very very unhappy with Scorpio at the moment. I strongly suspect however that with the Gemini's of the fleet having free will well, the eternal fleet is unlikely to be an issue as its captains go to explore the galaxy, themselves, and more. The story however may be much much deeper. Remember Gemini prime mentioning the Luminous Engine? Who wants to bet its a star forge or a portion of the star forge? Imperials remember the fragment of the Eternal Engine left on Nar Shadda and the tiny colony of Rakatta that lived in that tiny enclave? A thing that Reven left behind. My supposition is that the Luminous Engine is more fairly advanced Rakatta tech. And its still out there..and who has control of it? I strongly suspect Valkorian. I also suspect that Scorpio knows how to find it. This make an interesting possible connection between Valkorian and Scorpio. And the sudden thought that Scorpio may be Valkorians agent pops up. You know writers DO like to mess with their readers heads.. It's fun.. and it sells! Could they have gone deep machiavellian on us? It's entirely possible! We all know that Valkorian is one devious sneaky sucker. Manipulative as all get out and very capable of stage managing the situation our hero is in. He allows for many possibilities. Scorpio does the same thing. Well, before my specuations get any more surreal I'll go ahead and leave the above with you and your just as fertile as mine imaginations!
  15. Good thoughts. I have my own about Scorpio.. First off, she's no longer in a droid body. She is the spire, and she is the Immortal throne, and the fleet. The throne room war a projection of light and energy. she is the most awesome ghost in the machine you'll ever see. And I don't even think that Valkorian dreadfully powerful as he is can displace her. And on top of it all.. excuse me.. Why thank you Scorpio for a unique solution to my quandary! We Sith inquistor types know all about this one , oh yes. Valkorion "it is your destiny to take the Immortal Throne" tell ya what buddy, your gonna have to make a deal with my old buddy Scorpio.. Have fun! Cuz I'm not interested, and your not getting my body.. Ba By! At no time did I see Scorpio denounce her alliance with me the player.. And her taking Zakul solves a good many problems. The one thing with Scorpio as an Imp agent player can tell you is a deal is a deal. She doesn't trust biological's (can't imagine why..) Scorpio in now in a place to absolutely foil anything Valkurian hopes to accomplish, And Zakul is now effectively out of play so to speak. Scorpio now protects Zakul. And on several levels its likely not a job she wants, but it is now hers. Arcann isn't geting it back from her. He's down to a handfull of Knights, and what element of the fleet that are with him... Next chapter battle of Odessen.. alright.. we don't even have to find him, he's coming to us. I swear I can almost see her popping a cigar into her mouth and going "I love it when a plan comes together". You as the player get to be something unique to Scorpio. A friend. She does a pretty amazing job of returning the friendship. Even to those who don't deserve it.
  16. umm.. it's an indeterminate time, but should be before next year.. I am also crossing my fingers that it won't be to long.. and I'd personally like that it should eventually become available to non-subscribers. It was talked about in one of the producer live streams, but I don't recall which one. *stares at launcher which has sat at 96.09% for the longest time... ignore the download rate entry. on the launcher.. somethings broken with it and it does not show correct current download speed... it says 512 KB/s. My network monitoring software how ever says it pulling nothing other then a "I'm still here, are you still there?" tween it and the servers. I wonder what else has gone wrong today?
  17. This Program encounter and internal error and will now exit Error Code C12 Failed to load room dat file [/world/areas/461168019802843831/refugee_camp.dat] Reason: Not found ........................................................................................................................... Made a new toon.. a trooper..tried to start and this is what I got.. Client locked up hard and had to go into task manager to shut it down and restart. I notice there doesn't seem to be any file check, file repair tools. Off hand I'm guessing I've got some corrupted files that this means I'm going to have to redownload the entire freaking install again because I can't selectivly repair a single problematic file out of 33 plus gigabytes of the install... this does not happy make me.
  18. This irritates me no end... I'm reinstalling the game on a new (used, reconditionsed) computer.. It wasn't my plan.. apparently I couldn't just copy from the old HD to the new HD.. and the fact there was a small patch while this was happening didn't make it go any faster... I've been down loading and installing for 3 days now... its at 81.4% and it SAYS I'm downloading at 512.00 KB/s which is an impossible number.. because if I were... I'd have been playing a day and half if not 2 days ago.. that number.. which has not changed should indicate about 1.8 Gig of data in an hours time.. 24 hours should be more then sufficient at that speed to have downloaded EVERYTHING... ..3 days later... yea.. I don't like software that lies to me.. it really irritates me no end.. I'm sure I'm not alone... Might want to do something about that... Lesnove T510 thinkpad i5 m520 @ 2.4 GHz, 4GB system ram, Intel HD graphics, Win7-64. yep.. don't like installer software that lies about what its doing..
  19. nope, no off hand weapon... Bit of a raw deal for those two weapon users... oh.. I would have much prefered a main hand/off hand combo.. be it swo light sabers, 2 pistols, doble sabre and focuse/ shield generator etc.. I'm personally thinking no no one wanted to code 'em. I got money that says most players wont even equip them for the fight in the next chapter anyway.. My Sith Inquisitor uses a double bladed vibro sword herself...(the "classic" version... I love that switch blade sound when you ready it and the blades extend )
  20. Warning, there references to the new content, as I am a subscriber, but it'll be later toward the end.. oh yea wall of freak;n text warning. Don't like, well I got 'tude and IDK ok *grin* lets get on with it! Valkorian. Of course he will. He's not on the players "side" he's on his own side just as he has always been. In the end, the opinions of others don't really concern him other then possibly some minor entertainment value. What his ultimate goals have never really been said, and that's assuming he actually has a goal. . He says some things about it to the player but they're lies for all practical purposes. Valkorian doesn't do manifesto's. But go back to the carbonite sequences. He's very sith there for a moment. A broken tool is to be discarded. When the PC no longer can serve his goals the PC will be at best abandoned by him at some point, or become his new permanant vessel. Which we do believe means no more you. I wonder who the real Valkorian was? I wonder if his spirit feels like he pretty much got screwed over? Who Valkorian reminds me most strongly of is "The Architect" from the Matrix. We're all "lesser" beings. For the Matrix humans were essential power sources (I don't want to go into the possible flawed science of it all) with setience. Recall the Emperor consumed all life on Ziost. It provided him power, obviously "force" related, and afterwards he abandoned the core worlds entirely and moved apparently fully into his Valkorian body. The Architect manipulated the human population including the "Zion" humans. He allowed Zion to be rebuilt so many time to provide a societal safety valve for his farm animals.. Us. The Architect you'll recall had absolutely no respect for human intelligence or ability. Valkorian is much the same. At some point what is today Valkorian was just another force user.. a powerful one, but mortal. He found a way to harness the force to at first transfer consciousness to another host body. (he wasn't the only one who knew how to do this.. Sith Inquisitor story line anyone? ) He also apparently later on discovered how to suspend aging, which would have been a real convenience to having to be constantly having to posses a new host body every few decades. Many who would have been not exactly willing to give up their all for him, but no small number of them that would have willingly done so over possibly tens's of thousands of years. Do note that as a side effect he's really plans long term. He left and reason to trust him long ago...at this point he possibly not really much more then self aware appetite for power. And a whole bag full of bad habits that are not good or happy making for other sentient being which brings us to... <SPOLER WARNING FROM HERE ON> Valkorian plans how ever may have just hit a major snag in the form of a droid that's as capable as he is at long term planning, and apparently really amazingly pissed off at him, and quite possible smarter then he is. As an older male let me tell ya Scorpio is a dame... as in Katherine Hepburn dame..as in lets say Dame Judith Anderson (r.i.p.) dame. And Valkorian pissed her off. You made a serious Boo Boo dude!. He don't have my pity! As we know, no one follows through on a grudge like Scorpio, and Scorpio may have just saved your PC's *** long term, and made your job much easier. And I don't think she's done doing it yet either. Because she's not done dealing with Valkorian whom at this point I think I can safely say she means to put a permanent end to him. Huh you say? HE STOLE HER CODE AND REPLICATED HER WITH OUT HER PERMISSION! The Bad! The ******! The Baby Steal-er! You may have missed that part, I didn't! Oh yea, the story isn't even over yet. And Scorpio..she's just getting warmed up. And I am suspecting that the "Celebrity Grudge Match" of SWTOR will happen when Scorpio and Veylin go toe to toe.. as Vaylin has her own agenda, and we are all suspecting that it doesn't necessarily include her big brother. If she survives Arcann getting offed, which I strongly suspect she will, she'll want the Eternal Throne for herself. It is home after all. And she quite capable of staging a one woman invasion of Zakul to seize it for her self. Part of me keeps hoping that somehow Vaylin can be redeemed. What am I saying! Meh! This is Star Wars, and they are go'n down! Bring your popcorn! But keeps yer weapons handy, because you know your going get a battle royal against Valkorian soon after that one goes down. But don't be take'n book on what I say. there's some very good writers doing this story We'll have to just see what happens next. It's been interesting so far!
  21. Is it betrayal? Scorpio aims were to take the Eternal fleet.. Back.. ie: she had it first.. and somehow Valkorian took it away from her.. We're not done with Scorpio yet, and she has not yet fully taken her revenge on he that caused her injury in the first place. The players Alliance wanted the Eternal Fleet removed from Arkin's control. Well, might not have turned out quite the way everyone wanted but Arkin no longer has control of it. Not only has he been significantly weakened but he has completely lost control of Zakul. That's Scorpio's turf now. Scorpio is still to be considered an ally. She has not yet become an enemy, and I think she will remember her friends. This story line is going to have multiple endings possible depending upon the players alignment and choices.. we were promised this, its in writing. Ok? What I do notice is that Scorpio is down there next to Darth Marr in the companion contacts.. so no longer a companion..well that makes sense seeing she just instantly make her self a galactic military super power. And then there is Gemini Prime..and a story point point to consider. Scorpio gave the Gemini ship captain free will. Could this also have been extended to Gemini Prime? I don't quite thinks what Scorpio has done warrants being called betrayal. She took no assets from the Alliance, nor did she weaken the Alliance. What she did do is remove the Eternal Fleet as a tool in Arken's hands.. and while not quite what the "alliance" had in mind may be the optimal goal for what could have turned into a long term story line black hole in the making. Scorpio now holds the eternal throne. And the Fleet which is not longer in a position to be siezed by either the Republic or the Sith empire. She may have also set the stage for the player to be liberated from Valkorians plans...which I some how feel are going to involve at some point Valkurian kicking the player out of their own mind. Remember Lord Vash Sith Inquisitor players? (All player run Sith Inquisitors must be utter hotties ya know, Vash and now Valkorioan do tend to bring an entirely new meaning to the term "I want your body!" ) Which brings to mind Khem Val who has survived such a possession and is promised to appear soon. Pretty sure he's got something to do with the player being liberated from a possibly terminal case case of Valkorian possession. Easy Cowboys, we ain't been quite betrayed yet.. Remember the promise of this story arc.. you the players personal choices matter. My character has always been strait up with Scorpio, and she's always been rather strait up in return. I do believe she is rather fond of my character, and it is unlikely she bears me any ill will. I do manage to keep surprising her, and she does find that rather delightful. As for Scorpio, she's both passionate, and passionless. And she's not "human" or alien... She's ultimately a machine. There is a goal to her heuristic directive of self improvement.. But no one in any of the story lines so far has ever asked what that goal is. No one has ever asked what Scorpio's goal is..That directive guides her every decision. She is unique. The Gemini's were apparently created using her as a template without her consent.. I'm pretty sure it involved trickery and the use of one of the Star Forges, and I'm pretty sure it involved Valkurian. I do believe we can all agree this has likely really torqued he bolts! (ie: The Emperor, in what ever skin he was wearing at the time, And it had to have been done before she was stuffed into a deep hole on Belsavis.a very very very long time ago! Scorpio has been around nearly as long as the Emperor has been.. possibly longer! No one has asked that, and no one has said one way or the other so far... Just hints here and there.
  22. I don't know about "compensation" but I happen to like the Scorpio character, and please to note we don't have ALL of the story yet. What we do know. Scorpio now has control of the bulk of the eternal fleet. Only that small portion under our villein is not under her control. I am curious as to how the fleet elements with Arkin remain under his control. Did Scorpio left him that element as a further part of her own plans? Scorpio is very capable of being phenomenally vicious. She can also be gracious, and even kind. And not always to manipulate. What is Scorpio's next step? Will she liberate the captains of the eternal fleet? Will they now gain free will, and what effect will this have upon the galaxy? Will she continue to provide the players alliance support? I think she will, My main main is a light side agent and I'd like to think I've had an influence on her. She could continue to support the alliance out of respect and friendship with the player, or to use the player as a tool to finish off Arkin once and for all and then head of to do Scorpio things. I don't really see her wanting to be empress of the galaxy. One of the truths about power and having it, is that at a certain point power owns you. Just read any history book. It's right there. Scorpio has been observing the galaxy for a very long time. Her number one imperative remember is self improvement, not just Increasing her intellectual capacity. She once was merely a very very clever droid. What no one has ever asked Scorpio in the game (I'm actually surprised at this, especially from the agent) is self improvement to what end goal? We're not done with Scorpio yet. And I don't think Scorpio is done with us yet. And that may or may not be a good or a bad thing. That may depend upon you the characters relationship with Scorpio. We'll have to wait and see. And what about the Emperor? Him and his great plans for the Galaxy, and for me the player.. "it is your fate to take the Eternal Throne" My Fate. Ohh.. it is to express joy at my prospects of having not only to end up the new emperor, but to have the Valkorian kick me out of my own head ( sith inquisitor story line folks..Lord Vash writ somewhat larger and nastier. Just a thought... Maybe this is where Kel Val comes into play as a companion... the one who assists you with getting Valkorian out of your head... permanently.. after all he is the only person (more or less) we know of that has survived a possession/transfer of consciousness from a force user. He might be be willing to assist the player just because! Of course, he might kill you right afterwards but hay you'll die UN-possessed! Do try to remember a few months back when the devs did tell up we would game companions, and we could permanently loose companions also. Also note we "lost" HK, but we have a whole new HK.. Maybe Scorpio will show her..appreciation for the player by creating a copy of herself as a new companion for the character, and what about Gemini Prime? But back on Topic...If we loose Scorpio as a companion permanently I'm gonna be a tad upset. Not over the companion gifts but over loss of the HK themed sidekick skin I went and acquired for her. That ran me a pretty penny. It's ... annoying to consider that something I went through a lot of effort to get unlike companion gifts which are simply drops from mobs and turn in crate for your alliance rep. I've not had to buy companion gift for side kicks at all since this expansion launched. Oh and over Scorpio her self. We still got some chapters to go, and then what ever follows that down the road. (Influence rating 22, I better damd well have had an influence on her!)
  23. some nice thoughts, but one of you brought up a point indirectly and that my own assumption that said treachery happens from within the alliance.. with that as a thought suddenly the most likely culprit becomes either the Sith Empire or the Republic. Remember the players alliance is only getting very limited backing from the Republic..and considering some of the story elements around the republic that we've experienced in the different class stories and planetary missions suddenly the Republic seems a very likely candidate... There is a reason for this.. The republic leadership is much more "political" then that of the Empire... and theres always some optimist who believes that a "power sharing" can be arranged with the bully he pretty much figures they can stomp you into bantha poodoo (and rightly so). Arken might agree to such a deal as he maybe mad with power and authority, there is still no way for him to actually police his conquests. He may have a billion sky troopers to deploy, but he's in a galaxy with millions of inhabited worlds and a population in the trillions... He may be able to devastate planets with the greatest of ease, but ticketing a swoop bike double parked is a much more boots on the ground sort of deal. So he goes in, subjugates, and then leaves the locals to govern themselves.. With that in mind and all the possible ramifications (future doctorate submission: ramifications of command and control in a galactic war) it's entirely possible that we might see the republic elements try to sabotage the efforts of the Alliance.. with the best of intentions of course. Much more likely to see the Republic try to do this then the Empire, which would be much more likely to do the back stab thing after the internal empire is beaten, not before.. especially with word making its way around that the Hero is "destined" to overthrow Arkens throne and take the Eternal Empire for their own... I could even see Sersh defiantly and directly involved.... Well, we will know in three weeks!.... maybe......
  24. *tsks* oh them Bad Boys ya know... It's not strange ok.. Personally, I'm waiting for Veylin to decide to do big brother in.. mostly because she still very unhappy about Thexan being killed.. and that girl holds a grudge like no one I've ever seen.
  25. If you haven't seen it yet, the new teaser is up.. What we know: Scorpio and cousin Gemini have a heart to heart, and a few disagreements.. will they keep it civilized? Umm no, only at first, but we all know how these things go when two cute cousins end up in the same room together. They either take over the rest of the family or go to war with each other. Announcer voice tell us treachery shall strike... I feel like Walsh on the bridge of the Firefly playing with my plastic dinosaurs all of a sudden.. oh damd your inevitable treachery!. Of course the real question is is this treachery aimed at me, or at Valkurian, or the alliance in general. Who will it be? Aunti Senya? Naw.. if she were gonna, she would have done it by now, same same Koth (if he didn't stomp off cuz of dark side choices earlier) ..Theron, Lana? Unlikely.. T-7.. umm no.. I'm not sure T-7 could even if he wanted to! And that leaves the rest of the old story side kicks.. And remember.. the way the story is structured player alignment is immaterial to the over all plot line. Scorpio? I could see her taking off after getting what she wants. But actively turning against me (unless I've been a total pill to her all along) I just don't see it. Scorpio has always honored her debts. It seems unlikely to be one of the "Inner Circle" though I could see some of the older side kicks going all bad on you. So an outer agency perhaps... Scions again? Wouldn't surprise me to see them act counter to my action based on their visions. I could see a sith faction selling out to the eternal empire..power and wealth ya know. Any number of possibilities there. Of course, it could be Valkurian administering another ....... lesson. I've noticed he likes to do that...And he is a sneaky, underhanded over educated insanely powerful potent ancient *** hole, not one of your newly minted *** holes that are just getting started with messing with the galaxy and you in particular.. So he does tend to succeed as you the player just don't have the experience to see he wheels within wheels with in wheels, within yet more wheels machinations he's capable off. Personally loving the whole Scorpio thing..My light side agent uses Scorpio and Kalio as his main side kicks, and both of em at over rank 20.. I'd find it very disappointing if Scorpio actively turned against the player. Remember the voice over guy says Treachery which imply pre planning and a whole lotta intent. So what your thoughts...
