I'm pretty much a casual player after a decade of playing SWTOR but I keep a sub going. I don't PvP because it's boring.. I'm here for the story and the role play (when folks actually role play!). I rarely even bother with the GTN, and I never buy anything off it any more, (haven't in the last 2 years) and rarely sell anything either. There isn't a single MMORPG with a "player driven" economy out there that works anyway. And in my experience of 30 plus years of online gaming there never has been. So to me the point is moot. You can't fix a fundamentally flawed system. The only "fix" I can think of that would work would be a pure "barter" system. And that would at least make everyone equally unhappy.

I was hoping not to see it at all, but I shoulda known some scum bag(s) would end up doing this crap. Hopefully Broadswords got some proactive GM's that monitor chat and ban hammer 'em.. and then block their IP's. And if they're using a VPN to play sneaky sneak ban the VPN. If you need to use a VPN to game you'll likely scamming anyway. Play honest, play clean!

Run it. Original rules. Peeps that finish it with get this set of utterly spiff legacy bound levelling armor that works for any class and that has a built in XP boost, a fancy title, a flair, a mount, a massive legacy boost just by playing the game. The only change I would recommend is have the armor "fixed" so folks can't mess it up by pulling mods off to put on any other armor and the armor cannot be modified in any way (ie: idiot proof it!) My only real suggestion and best run on a new server!

Imma chime in. For players in the pacific region.. give 'em ONE (and only one) FREE transfer now.. (and ONLY players confirmed to reside in the western and south western pacific rim.) Everyone else can wait a couple months. I live in California USA and am enjoying that new server smell from scratch experience. I've bought one level 80 boost so I have a income earner. I can go run a story mode flashpoint or two and a handfull of heroics and easily generate a couple hundred thousand creds on the level 80. What I strongly suggest you all do is petition broadsword to do a run the "Light V Dark" event...(requires a new made toon anyway so hey everyone wins!) If you complete it you get a full set of "universal" armor that can be worn by any toon and levels with them. Just put it on , grab a set of decorative armor to paste in on the outfitter tab and run with it. (hint: If they do NEVER EVER pull the mods to put them in something else.) In the mean time there are a lot of very good reasons to NOT allow transfers, all of which have to do with game balance and keeping things as fair as possible between veteran players and the newbies. Personally I would have liked to have seen a much lower sell cap on the GTN. Or even eliminating the GTN entirely.. (if it doesn't exist it can't cause problems! Go earn yer stuff!) I'm an older gamer in his 60's and I swear by now I have seen it all. Gold farmers, botters, elitist jerks, you name it, I've seen it. Just play the game. Save your urge to over achieve for the real world where you NEED it..not for a computer game... TL_Roff sends

Intro: So in spite of all the carping, complaining and more I thought I might mention that over all I'm having a good time starting over from scratch on the Asia Pacific "Shae Visla" server. I've one toon at 24 I think, several other which are fashionable place holders who have not started their story yet, and a level 80 from the application of a masters datacron. The fancy armor they give you is bound to legacy and butt ugly besides so off into legacy storage with it. I'm told that I can wear that gear for the stats but have the appearance of a different set entirely. More on that in a bit. Commentary: I have yet to get "outfitter" to work in a satisfactory way (to me), and armor worn as an outfit won't "Unify the dye". This is...annoying. Can't just be me having an issue with that... do I need to put a you tube video up to demonstrate? And If I do will it even be paid attention to? I'm in my 60's and my experience says "not only no but HELL no!" unless I have a channel with several hundred thousand subs and a huge viewer ship. Eventually corporations and IP's pay the price of not listening to the bulk rank and file of their customers and depending on whales to carry the product. I've lost rack of just how many MMO's this has killed. It's happening right now to Star Trek Online. SHining on the majority of your customers is a really really bad idea. Please don't make those mistakes here! Right... nuff with the political/social/businesses practices commentary and on with the gaming stuff! Ohhh. SHINY!: So doing the character story line stuff on my level 80 anyway just to unlock the heroic moment powers because I am going to need those as a mostly solo and casual player. But than again, I play SWTOR for the story content not the gear chase. That and it's nice to refresh the character story arc in my head. Skipping 3/4 of the content by doing this but my 80 has a job to do... get that heroic moment stuff unlocked and make MONEY. Anything else is gravy (I've only been playing since launch.. can almost do this stuff in my sleep) I've made one of everything other than a Jedi Councillor, and a Sith inquisitor. I have sufficient armor sets bought over the years and unlocked in collection that getting them looking all bombad is not an issue. As a rule I prefer to play light side Sith. (ie: grey.. "There is no light side, there is no dark side. There is only the force") and I see no conflict at all with the Sith code. But that is just a reflection of me in the game setting. In the immortal words of Ash, "Good? Bad? I'm the guy with the gun.". If I get lucky I might find a guild of older players who "get" Star Wars. I'm not expecting to find it in players below the age of about 30 give or take. If you've a guild that might just be a fit send an ingame mail to "Asir Delflamm" on the Imperial side or "Bittena" on the Republc side on the Shea Visla server. No it's not paranoid.. it's a recognition of real world HUMAN behavior. Transfers will go live automatically after 90 days from when the server opens up as was stated by the devs at server launch.. Right now we don't need the "whales" on the server.. And they can always go buy some cartel coins.

I second this suggestion. The Metallics look great on armor parts (Mandalorian Wanderer Armor) but not so good on fabric. Wishing I hadn't spent the money on that dye pack now..that was a lotta cartel coins..

What's waiting in the wings? That a cinematic trailer was pumped out for "2" chapters and a operation is kinda mind boggling considering KOTFE and KOTET had loads of content! So my guess is more is coming but it's just not done yet or is still in testing. I hear every ones disappointment that there isn't more right now and I feel it to. I've all ready taken one toon from 75 to 80 and almost have another one there. My bounty Hunter is sporting gear at 306 plus and he just managed to break 79 yesterday. But either way there has got to be more new content coming. It just wouldn't make any sense for there not to be. I guess we'll see

So... Having now "finished" the "Legacy of the Sith" story content I have reached a few conclusions... 1. On the final world we see a sun in a constant state of eclipse. Sorry mad lads there is just no way any fevered lore master imagination this is a mere coincidence we're talking Star Wars gaming here. Yes of course there is a plan in place! so in conclusion.. 1. it's a set up for EA's "Eclipse" questions: Is "eclipse" the next Star Wars MMO?... Maybe? It certainly is time for a new MMO with updated graphics and then some. The "hero" engine has gone as far as it realistically can go. That is not to say there can't be more SWTOR content on the horizon but quite possible the studio has finally decided there is a point of diminishing returns and it HAS been reached, so any new content will lead into the next game. Will SWTOR continue in a "maintainence mode" ? I see no reason for it not to. but it will firmly move into "legacy" content. Maintained but not expanded on, Which considering game interface chnges makes a great deal of sense all of a sudden. 2. How does the young jedi from the trailer figure into it all? Your guess is as good as any I might come up with! But I suspect we will see more of her especially now that ILM is the folk doing game cut scenes. There is a story there to be told. Will it tie into the original star wars movies? DUH! of course it will... eventually! *grin* Enjoy the journey folks there will be much to cover leading into the high republic era and the end of the Sith Empire. 3. Am I some sort of Star Wars archeologist? Like you have to even ask? Of course I am you silly's! I've followed Star Wars from the original first movie (of which my memories are slightly different from the main stream crowd because i saw a sneak preview in a theater in downtown Eugene Oregon that predated the official theatrical release by a few weeks.) to the present and I have always considered the Star Wars computer games part of the lore. It's always better to ignore the suits and ties crowd.. they don't get it and they never have and never will. to them its just a money making IP. The "Hero's Journey" has always been beyond their narrow view and always will be. They don't understand dreams. A bunch of uncultured barbarians at the gates i tell ya! Prove me wrong! *grin* 4. so Lastly.. the ride isn't even over we have 30 centuries of lore to play with between now and a new hope so be of good cheer. the ride isn't ending any time soon though the format is of course always subject to change. A the end of a certain famous movie the hero looks at the heroine and says "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn" which really sums up for THIS player exactly how I feel about all the fake controversy around this expansion. I wanted to be able to not have weapons types/use tied to character classes at all. If ya wanna have a blaster wielding Jedi Councilor go for it, If your trooper is a specialist with a light Sabre or a Vibro sword Or wants to do the whole tech samurai thing, let it happen.. But that not what we got. I am disappointed because that means my Mando/Hunter still cannot use the Beskar Spear I cash paid for! I wonder if the devs understand just how much this irritates me?. He can use the Mando's sniper rifle now but he still will not be able to use the spear. I am glad for new story content, it's been needed for awhile. Now that expanded universe is "legit", and the game is effectively considered Canon well, we'll see won't we? Perhaps SWOTOR will move down the road that leads to the High Republic era (which will of course be the end of the story here) as the Sith Empire is destroyed as much from within as without. Sith are killed off one by one or even in job lots leading into the period of the rule of two. Either way at some point to Republic becomes the dominant power with only the Mandalorian, The Hutt Cartels, the Chiss and a handful of others along with Sith empire remnants in the outer rim, and the unknown regions and hidden beyond the Rishi maze in the other side of the galaxy exempted from republic control. Thats all for the future. What I am curious about in the hear and now is a rumor whispered about that I have heard of a major massive upgrade to the games Hero Engine and the graphic rendering that will make full use of modern graphic cards. Tomorrow is tomorrow. I will continue to subscribe and enjoy the game because frankly it IS the only Star Wars MMO-RPG we have and that is that. May you all have zero issues to morrow getting updated, logging in, and playing (it would be a lovely first wouldn't it?) and I'll see ya'll in game.

what I was hopeing to see was the ability to use different combat styles while STILL KEEPING my character focus.. examples.. Bounty Hunter getting two handed electro staff so the bounty hunter can use the Beskar Spear.. or unlock the use of sniper rifles to be able to use the Sniper rifle from the Mandalorian show.. on top of being able to use either a single or double blasters. The Sith inquisitor being able to use two lightsabres or a double lightsabre.. etc etc. I am pretty sure this is what WE PLAYERS had in mind.. the version of this you have in the PTR adds nothing to player choices and really just muddles things. In a very short phrase, I don't like it. Theres no reason really to want to use what the dev team has come up with especially conseidering that your not going to be switching styles/discepline in the middle of a fight. Utillity is rather lacking... Likely not what the dev team wanted to see but truth none the less.. Sorry guys but thsi feature is more fail then benefit. And why can't a force user use blasters? I mean come on really?

Gosh, well, as others have noted.. KOTOR remake, PS-5 and PC. It's official! I'm allready setting aside money for it!

SO... very disappointed that my Bounty Hunter can't use the rifle with the armor set inspired by DIn armor in the Mandalorian. SO I've worked up an agent so I can use it. I suppose he's a Mando outcast. Much RP potential, now if only there was more RP. *sigh*

I won't spoil it, but oh man! SO much to happen.. Hat off to Feloni et al. Will have to wait until NEXT december for season 3, and we're going to see some stuff between now and then.. I think we need a Star Wars The New Republic MMO now! (Can I keep all the Mando armors I've bought?) Been watching reaction vids and it's quite the reaction.. And hey folks Disney Plus is cheap.. you can watch ALL of the Star Wars stuff there... go do it!

SO it's not a sniper rifle, it's a blaster rifle.. but it's Mando, but bounty hunter characters can't use it. I bought cartel coins to get the doggone thing and now I have this blaster rifle that my bounty hunter cannot use. I'm really rather irritated about this.

EA will likely loose the "exclusive" licence. But will be permitted to further develop the titles they have. (including remakes) Disney is a corporation that knows to not put all it eggs in one basket. We'll see what happens between now and then. EA is certainly acting at several levels like it is expecting to loose the licence exclusivity. Remember they've been hot and heavy with games as a service and were for the longest time saying single player game NO. Yet we have some single player games. Hard to make a call there. Disney however does recognize the while multi player games do make copious money in the short term they also cost money to maintain and the devil is always in the details. I think EA will get preferential treatment as far as licensing specific products based on past performance, but Disney I expect to reserve the right to shop out the IP to other game development studio's and publishers ending the exclusive deal. As for EA should this happen they're not going to be able to successfully broker continuing exclusivity without surrendering something. The most obvious something would be a much bigger share of the profits to Disney and ya know, it's EA.. I don't see them willing to do that. Not really. They might, but that could put them in a financial bind if a title fails in the marketplace.. For now it's most of 3 years away so I'm not going to be worried about it. Just always remember.. All things end. I think EA should likely have SWTOR as a legacy game for a long time to come.

It does.. the cave looks like the one over near the Pub encampment at the edge of the Dune Sea. The canyon that leads to it. Does Favreau play SWTOR? Definitely getting a lot of SWTOR vibe here. Great fun, back to watching.

I'm going to wander off topic by the end of this post so apologies now. On with the show! ...................................................................................................................................................... I'd honestly rather see the power/abilities simplified even more, and seriously rationalized. Every class including sub classes should have its own specific flavor. Right now they're all feeling pretty vanilla with only what 4 specific abilities unique to each of the two sub class? Then there are the talent trees which add some other flavor as far as buffing specific powers and abilities. I run the extended bars and it's still not nuff to hold everything, nor are they conveniently placed unless you go the effort of modding your interface with the in game tools. It's this way no matter whats class I play, and when you get right down to it, for PvE play you mostly just use the same 5-6 abilities over and over and over again with occasional clicking on triggered abilities which are maybe 4 more.. PvP is more complicated because each class has it's specific PvP abilities and counters. It's a mess really, and always has been. Deep and complicated does not mean better.. it just means it's deep and complicated. Frankly most of us playing do not PvP but it seems to devour an inordinate about of time and effort on the dev's part. I'd much rather Bioware just simplify the hell out of combat make it strait forward and simple and DIFFERENT for every class/subclass then having to spend their time on constant balance passes instead of bringing us more story, more lore, more adventures more often. Which by the by might be a bit more fun for them also! ................................... Other Thoughts! ................................................................... I've played the game on and off since launch. The game has gotten more accessible. F2P has gotten a lot saner and I suspect because of that they've gotten more revenue because of it. Opening up the game to more access for F2P has encouraged folks to yea, go buy some cartel coins and get that fancy armor you love the look of. Good stuff. I'm not the only old person around here playing this game. We old folks were here for the adventure and the story not the gear chase, or the crafting, or the PvP, or the ego fluffing, or who has the prettiest/best toys. We're here for StarWars and being part of the story so yea, we've always want more class specific story and still do. Game mechanics skill etc are all a means to an end, not the end in it's self. the "end" how ever has never changed.. the goal is Entertainment.. Remember the line by Maximus in Gladiator? "Are You Not Entertained?" There are times I am not. I'd even like to see some more of the Multiplayer content have a single player mode where you bring a whole bunch of your sidekicks along. Something like the ending fight in the Shadow of Revan story line only with your crew along! because for some of us that's the only way we're ever going to get at a lot of the multiplayer gated content because we don't have the gear or we're not interested in running with guilds, or the social aspects of the game. I have a social life outside of gaming. A rather too substantial one at times. I have a spouse and she insists I be involved.. it's healthy for me you know (*grumble grumble grumble*). And she doesn't understand the appeal of gaming at all. I love her but she can be a bit of a .. well, what ever it is she is. I don't even have a label for it. Even though I don't especially interact socially it's nice to see it.. It means I'm not the only person playing the bloody game. I'm not alone in the game world. There are others and you can see them at the hubs. I might not take part but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate it. I equally certain I'm far from being the only person with that P.O.V. (if there is a reason I don't it because I'm an adult And there are an awe full lot of really childish immature trolling twits out there that I want nothing to do with. I've never liked selfish self centered people and I never will and the trolls are the ultimate expression of it.. it's about them and what they want...other people are stupid! yea right, go play with your self kid, I'm not going to do it!) Imma seriously casual player compared to most of a habutee's of these forums and even I can manage to solo a few of the FP's on other then "story" mode where they give ya the bad *** combat droid that does all the work for ya (I kinda sleep through those) And it helps a great deal if you remember to put armor and gear on your character.. though i do know a few folks with max level toons that have all the datacrons collected who run heroics nekkid other then weapon and off hand just for the challenge... (yep they're boored and waiting for the next content to blow through...)
