  1. It was always dropping in group ranked only... I don't know what they mean to be honest. I never god any rpm form solo ranked.
  2. Please post the data that shows the invasion of ranked players into regs farming bads and post the data that shows casuals left PVP because they got tired of getting farmed.... This constant babble isn't helping matters at all. Also , how do you know someone is a ranked players ? does he have " ranked player written over his chest or something or he plays that much better that to you he seems like some kind of PVP god . ALso, ranked players are paying subs and play whatever content they like, just like any subscriber . How is that anyone's fault that players are just bad.. and are unwilling to learn or improve ? Certainly not Bioware's .
  3. Why was the " rage quitting " ever a problem in first place ? Now that is very odd... and all these so called problems reported on the forums just make the devs take bad action moves. Rage quitting was fine because I could decide If I wanted to play with the team I had gotten into or not. What was wrong with that ? If I see that 3 of my team members are 270 gear, I can easily guess that will get stomped non stop and it's an auto loss . Why would I want to stay ? I stay now.. because I am forced to. Also, why would I stay in any lagball game that pops all the time, even with the other 2 trash maps out of the rotation(hopefully for good) ?? I can't quit now.. and I am forced to stay and ruin the game by farming people and dps. It's a joke because those that hate hutball are forced into it and ruin the game for those who love it. We all quit every hutball we got into at the start before this brilliant rage quitter fixing lock out was added. You know it's funny how these forums give all this feedback, whilst 90% of the player base never reads the forums or posts their opinion here , and a lot of what is posted here has nothing to do with what is really happening in the game.
  4. Because Bioware just doesn't want Carnage to be played in PVP .. and they seem to balance every class based on this. Just look at Tanks . When is the last time you saw a PT or SIn tank in ranked ? They are gone forever. Bioware wants you play Jugg tank . Sim[le as that. They also want you to play Deception Sin and not Hatred . Also.. Madness is just garbage so you should play Lightning. In their view the damage gaps on dummy are ok , but you cannot balance classes around dummies that are just static . There are a lot of factors that come into play in the real game but don't expect this to change anytime soon .
  5. You constantly claim that premades vs randoms is so unfair , but never ever look at the proportion of players that are just unwilling to improve . That is a bigger problem than any premade . They should just remove the que lock from unranked and the problem of premades will be fixed by simply leaving the so called " unfair" game. As a solo quer, I always did that.
  6. A significant number of end gamers have over 7 billion credits at the moment ... Due to Bioware's wise decisions, a chunk of RPM-s from the let's say two ranked weeklies will earn you almost 1 billion credits . And you say this credit sink isn't justified ? But bottom line is still the same : Most players will not need any amplifiers anyway and those that do need them have plenty of credits to play with Bioware's credit sinking RNG game.
  7. What exactly is happening on Darth Malgus other than the invasion of bots and token farmers since they announced end season rewards and brackets ? Please tell me.
  8. Hey man... I think you jumped into a territory that is way too " thick" ... Obviously , as chronic psychology lover like myself, I canot disagree with what you said, but I think that answers here are much more simple . 4v4 is a totally - radically different gameplay mode than 8v8 in the sense that players have to play their classes in a different way compared to 8v8, especially when it comes to defensive skills. The situations where you get jumped by 3 other players trying to burst you down in seconds is very rare in 8v8 , while it is the NORM in 4v4 and it's basically what 4v4 PVP is built around. This is why players who play mostly regs have such a hard time becoming as effective in ranked as they were in unranked. I know this from my own experience. I am still a supporter of an unranked 4v4 que where players would que to improve themselves in that game mode.
  9. Yeah... I know that phenomenon . I get the same bot player over and over again till I lose so much rating that I rage quit queing . I log another character after that and then guess what happens ? 10 wins in a row... Explain that . What the hell. On my imp char I was losing games, while on my republic character I have a massive winning streak.
  10. The problem is that.. Hatred shouldn't be a disadvantage over Deception . The only difference should be in play styles and use .and the same applies for very spec. However in this case, you play meta or you're basically out . Team ranked is a good example of this . As for the learning curve, I agree and I've mentioned this countless times in the past. While GSF at least has some kind of basic tutorial to teach you what that thing is actually about, PVP has nothing . You get a massive middle finger from the game and especially from the community . I play this game since 2015 and It's only 2 or 3 years ago since I discovered that there is a resolve bar in PVP and when it fills up , you cannot stun and can get stunned . Why didn't I know of it before ? Was I some kind of retard ? No , of course not.. the game doesn't teach you these things. I still don't remember how I found that tho. And there are a lot of things that are vital for PVP performance that a big chunk of the playerbase doesn't know about. And people just keep getting stomped and they don't know why , get frustrated and quit PVP . Again.. SWTOR is just a casual PVE, space barbie game has a 1% big mouthed PVP community . Really, if you think about it, there are maybe 1000 or more players online don Darth Malgus in prime time and not even 10 % of them que regs or ranked. If you don't believe me just look at the general section . They cried about conquest for 1 month and now they get a change to fix the guild kick issue . How long have we opened threads about issues in PVP that most of them never got even a reply from a dev ? It's clear where the priorities of this game lie , and it's not in PVP , despite our community thinking it's important . Yea sure, we pay the sub , but other than that.. middle finger and promises and feedback that never gets in the game ever. Don't misunderstand me. I am not mad... I just learned to keep my expectations at low or almost non existent.
  11. On darth Malgus I had activation lags even before the maintenance...
  12. The main reason is much simpler than that... There was really no point doing them . The only time when people were farming them was in early 5.0 when they were giving a lot of command points (renown) today . If I remember correctly, it had something to do with gearing . After they nerfed the command points uprisings were giving, they instant died out and were like that ever since.
  13. Yes, it is a good thing and pre seasons are sometimes more fun and chilled than the live season itself due low levels of toxicity and people generally being there for the fun of it . But as soon as the season starts, it becomes a totally different game mode . And the " newcomers" you saw in pre season never que.
  14. I think it's provable fact that they make changes to conquest and guilds way faster than they do for pVp... Just check the main forums since 1/2 months ago when the conquest drama started . While on PVP forums we are making tons of threads about the same things and nothing happens or is done in any way shape for forum. Probably us PvP-ers just feel way to important , while being 5% of the total playerbase . I would have preferred your changes tho. Lockouts should be ranked only ...
  15. I wasn't around when 8v8 was a thing, so I can't really say my view is accurate on the matter . But based on how team ranked is now in 4 man format, I don't think it would be much better as 8 man . Why I think that ? Bioware tried to revitalize it by adding those mats back in , and it started popping again . But most teams soon realized there is really no point bothering because they get farmed by the top teams and since they can't complete their weeklies and dailies unless they win, constantly losing isn't fun. In seasons 9-10 it was more active because you could get your weekly done even if you'd actually lost games , which resulted in a perfect outcome for everyone : mat farmers got their mats, top teams got their rating, and decent teams /average teams were able to play some good games as well and ended up with ok ratings. Some even managed to get gold , with the help of some mat farmers wins as well let's be honest , but overall it was a very good experience. I enjoyed it a lot. With this new system they have just implemented they basically ruined the game mode to the point of stupidity . There is one or two top teams in que and they basically farm the other 2 teams in que , mat farmers or not it doesn't matter . I sometimes make a team and we waste time trying to the dodge the top team because we know we can't win that and hope for some avg team to show up, but most of the times there are very few in que. This has also created the insanity you see on GTN . You think that it was Bioware's intention for 1 augment to cost 500 mil credits ? Did they also intend me to earn 500 million credits by selling 12 of those new mats ? Some players have over 10 billion credits now . What I really mean by this is that even if we had 8 man ranked, top players would be in the same teams and they would still be farming the others . Just picture a premade in regs stomping the other lesser skilled ones. It's not fun and just imagine having to endure that for 10 minutes at least . In arenas it ends fast at least. I think this 4 man format of team is just some kind of compromise for this game to actually the option of team competition besides solos. If anyone has any information why 8 man team ranked was scrapped before it even had it's first season, please tell me. I am really curios as to what their motives were ..... because they game population was much higher back then in the pvp field as well.
  16. You seem to be such a big expert on ranked, a game mode you don't actually play .... It's a real mystery how you seem to know everything about it.
  17. And what is Bioware supposed to do about it when the ranked is basically : sins, opers, maras, ap pt's lightning sorcs This is 80% of the ranked que. The odds of these to be stacked into one team is quite high especially when only a handful of specs are viable for this game format . There is no variety in the que . Unless Bioware makes proper balance changes , stacking will always be an issue. This is not a bug . The game makes teams based on what's available in the que.
  18. This advice about practicing in regs is just wrong... Yeah, sure, you can learn there the basics of survival , rotations and defensive stuff, but only to a certain point. Arena gameplay is so radically different to arenas that if anyone is trying to improve, should que ranked and learn the hard way there , and ignore your childish whining altogether . You can pick up so many bad habits in unranked, it's crazy.... I've seen regstars from Darth Malgus play in arenas. A lot of them are just terrible at it . You will never learn to survive getting bursted by 4 other players in unranked because IT'S NOT THE OBJECTIVE of regs to do that. It is only arena, and only in arena will you learn to adapt to it . Also depending on your skill level, you can easily be a bot out of the 8 people you get matched up with. If 7 players are playing at gold level and you are player who is at 1200ish level of gameplay, you will be the weakest link and will probably be outplayed by better players. If however , you are 1200ish and the other 7 are a combination of 800, 1000 and some higher rated players, you have a better chance . So your definition of a bot is very vague . Bot is someone that dies in 5 seconds every single time . By reading your post, it's clear you are reffering to players who are just bad or trying to learn and you don't want them in SR . Well , if you are a good player , these bads will not stop you from getting the rating you desire because you are good ... Most of the toxic mouths are just people who think they are way better than they actually are. The real top players were never toxic , at least in my experience . Most of the toxic people in ranked are grown up manchildren and spoiled brats with serious issues... and just need to get l@id . Getting angry over losing is a normal human feeling... but what some of these angry kids do is just way out of the normal patterns.
  19. I simply cannot disagree with this and I did my best to try and say something , anything to disagree... I started PVP around mid 4.0 when guilds like Take a Seat was running lots of premades and basically destroying every other team in unranked. I was farmed by you guys so much... It was frustrating , but the quality of games was much better back then. Marking healers was something so basic, people would get angry if it wasn't done in time. Also, calling... that was like breathing air . Today it's just a clown fest of chicken running around dying in 2 seconds and then opening threads here about how garbage PVP is . how op certain classes are but they rarely seek information about how the frick to improve at this game. You never see that. It's always the premades, the OP fotm classes, the dps farmers . It's always these things that ruins their games, but they never look at themselves ask the question: " what can I do to up my game ? The guy you just quoted is a perfect example. Also as you said, this game just doesn't do anything to help you learn to PVP... I don't know about other MMO's like WoW . but the guy you quoted might be right when he said that SWTOR is just a super casual game. I feel the same way... Space barbie collectors, hardcore RP and story players .. This is what 90% of the SWTOR playerbase is and a very small % of the remaining 10% plays pvp and an even smaller number plays ranked. It's the truth . and as much as it pains me, they don't focus on the PVP side at all. Even gsf has some kind of intro platform to learn basic things, pvp has nothing of that except the streams that the majority of newbs won't watch cause they have to search for the info themselves. So there we have it. It might have been different when 8 man ranked was alive and you were close to starting a proper season. I wasn't around then so I have no idea.
  20. So how do you get gold in this game ? I am very serious with this question.... I play mara-sent, I Play 4 characters . One of them is super low rated , the others are stuck around 1200ish all the time . No matter what I do, in the end I always end up there . On my low rated char, that is barely 1k , I get better teams overall and games, while on my higher rated ones, as I soon as I pass 1200 and up to 1250 and above the bots come.. the auto losses , the disconnect players etc which will throw me back to 1200 or below and the cycle always repeats itself. I see 2 possibilities here : 1. I play at 1200-1250 level , which I am ok with .. no problems . 2. The matchmaker is what it is and I get better games on low rated alt because I get teamed up with better players overall(rating wise at least) .3. Due to my queing on the same class ( cause I can't play anything else on ranked level) , I am totally at the mercy of the randomness of the que... I noticed that as a marauder, it's much better to que when healers are queing, but with full time job and I don't have that much time to play . So I que when I can.. Crawling up in rating and falling back again is so annoying . I could scream. I tried to play something more meta like conc oper and I felt just super garbage...and useless After 5 losses straight in my first 10 games,I decided that there is no point trying further ... PS: I am back to ranked after a long break from it.. more than one year. I quit for the same reason back then. Trying your best and still ending up with middle finger in the end from the game. I am going to keep queing now, as I am motivated by the rewards available. I am curios about your opinion. Thanks.
  21. Interesting... Imagine those those toxic idiots you meet in ranked giving feedback to the devs on discord.... I am so relieved now. The game is in good hands and those people are giving the best feedback possible. Probably that's the reason of those multiple threads on steam forums about people getting banned for no reason at all just because they pissed off some ranked 12 year old meme player.
  22. There is no " fix " for ranked as long as players are rated the way they are now, based on elo gain and loss.... This current ranking system just breeds toxicity because players lose rating and they get mad, especially if they lose multiple games in a row. It's unlikely that bioware will do anything about it and you just have to live with what you got . As for toxicity, in PvP it's normal to some a degree and it will never be eradicated. Even regs is toxic sometimes, but much more less than ranked .
  23. I don't disagree, but time isn't on our side is it ? It's already been some time since they introduced these horrible lockouts and despite many complaints about how bad they are and pointless, they seem to insist on having them. Here is an example: I am a massive Hutball hater, I despise it so much that I could scream each time I get into one. Before the lockouts, I always left at the start because I didn't want to take part in something I hate and ruin the fun of others who might enjoy that thing. Now I am forced to play it , otherwise 15 minute lock out... Get 2 lagballs in a row and that would be 30 minutes of not queing. Since I am forced to play Hutball, what do I think I do in those games ? The answer should be obvious and that's what many others are doing as well and this has turned Hball into a massive mess of killz and dps farms . People just gank each other .. This was just an example ... there could be many more. And on the good side, getting farmed my premades sometimes is a good thing because at least the game ends fast enough .
  24. Before you start crying to Bioware about their poor decision making, maybe you should take and a deep look at yourselves and realize that these things were added to the game based on your own feedback... Imagine, them making decisions based on what 5 people cry about on daily basis on these forums? If memory serves me right, there was a lot of complaints about quitters in pvp and ppl not caring about wins. Both of these " problems" were heard by Bioware and they came up with the solution : Deserter lock out for quitters and only wins matter if one wants to complete daily weekly... for people to try harder to win. It's what you wanted and you got in the end. Now please live with it and stop complaining.
